This place never disappoints, food always spot on, service is always amazing! We came tonight for our anniversary for a meal and the service was outstanding, thank you hickory’s for making our anniversary extra special!

I absolutely love Hickory’s. It’s my type of go to food and the Nuthall one is always a vibe. Love it so much. Had the platter for 2 this time and everything was amazing. Even the coleslaw was the best I’ve had! 10/10 I also had a coke float (not on menu) and the chocolate fudge cake, unreal!

Wow. Absolutely OUTSTANDING experience! Mary the manager was our server and she was genuinely so so amazing. She went above and beyond in every single aspect, absolutely cannot fault her so thank you for making our experience Mary! As for the food, again absolutely incredible. I would argue one of the best meals I have ever had and very reasonably priced for the quality and portion size. My only complaint is that we don’t live closer to one!! If you are considering visiting, don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it!!

I had brisket and when I went a few months ago I had 4 nice slices this time I had 2 slices cut in half service awful finished the dinner asked for a pudding and had to ask twice at one stage he actually came with the bill and not finished ordered a cookie desert the cookies were impossible to break with the spoon and on top of all that start time 16:30 finish time 18:38 to long saw bottom from the chair

Really love this place. It's always been busy every time I've gone but service has still been quick and friendly. The food is delicious as well. Easily comparable to BBQ food I've had in the States.

Must be out 8th visit and the 10 of us went for my wives birthday. Firstly I would like to say the food was fantastic as always, but the service was really poor. 1. The service wasn't poor due to actions, but simple due to lack or staff or lack of communication. I had to get up every time to ask for cutlery, drinks, more drinks, food order etc as no one came to the table. Might be lack of staff. 2. When the food was bought for the person next to me (fajitas), the salsa was dropped that exploded all over the table and covered me and my cream T shirt. Apart from another salsa and a wet wipe this wasn't remotely acknowledged by the staff at all. I feel slightly aggeaved, especially when I paid a £20 tip (I know I'm an idiot....but when they add it on you do feel an tight arse asking to take it off and that's why they do it), and after quickly washing my top it's stained and not within saving, so my new £50 t shirt is ruined. So overall poor customer service. Even a round of drinks for the adults or a small discount would have been nice.

None of the five “Hickory’s values” was observed during our visit. Service was slow and uninterested, waitress obviously wanted to be anywhere else, in the end so did we, so cut short the meal to go elsewhere. We did raise this with the manager, who was also not interested. Not worth my time or money.

Our waitress Lauren was amazing. As a coeliac she explained the gluten free menu to us to well! She is BRILLIANT. The brisket was incredible. As foodies- we were so impressed with the smokehouse platter! Would recommend!

Great bbq /smokehouse place. Good food and great staff. Was looked after from start to finish. Extensive food and drink menu. Good range and the place seems to always be very busy so it tells you everything you need to know. Would recommend and will visit again for sure.

A little bit of the "Deep South" in Nuthall. A good restaurant serving good food, including veggie options. Very pleasant and helpful staff. My only criticism is, smokehouse meat normally falls off the bone, although very tasty, here it didn't. 10/10 to the staff.

Been to Hickory's Nuthall a fair few times, more so when it first opened and less so more recently due to the pricing getting too expensive for us. Visited for my daughter's Birthday, so only going for a treat nowadays and no longer order myself a drink or sides due to their increased cost. A weekday late lunchtime we had dinner. Service ok but not worth the tip on this occasion, restaurant untidy too considering it was virtually empty food on floor, table sticky. My daughter's meal was great, which was good for her Birthday, but my roast chicken was over cooked, tough and so dry I couldn't eat it all as I simply couldn't swallow it and for £20 I felt quite upset I'd wasted my money. My daughter enjoyed her meal, but this really put me off. I should have said something about my meal at the time but didn't want to spoil her meal and I feel quite uncomfortable complaining. A shame, we used to visit a lot when it opened, and tried sides, the drinks, different meals, etc but just not worth the price and having a poor meal again.

We booked to come with friends, as a late Xmas get-together - 6 adults and 6 kids. There was a short delay for our table, which ran to about 10mins past our booked time - not the end of the world. We were taken to our table, seated, and asked for drinks orders - we weren't ready as we'd literally just sat down. The server was pleasant, but never came back to take drinks orders, he just came back 20mins later to take our food orders. I ordered the half-chicken, which looked appetising enough when it arrived; in reality it was so dry I could barely swallow it, and full of tiny pieces of bone. The only edible part was the leg, which was alright. I was left genuinely baffled, how is it so dry if it's cooked low and slow!? I've never had chicken that dry, ever. I raised the problem with the young server who asked if everything was okay, to be met with "I'm sorry about that". It's not really acceptable when you're paying £20 for a main. I was massively underwhelmed! The whole experience was just frustrating, exacerbated by the fact we were there for over 2 and a half hours! I appreciate staff are busy, but that length of time is pretty ridiculous for a meal experience; kids were getting frustrated and couldn't sit still for any longer, which started to frustrate the adults as well. I know costs are rising across the sector, but food prices are generally steep for what you get. The experience we had before this was also underwhelming, so our twice yearly tradition of coming here is now sadly at an end.

Very tasty definitely going again

Absolutely fantastic! It was our first time at Hickory's, and the service we received was outstanding. Our waiter introduced himself, and when we told him it's our first time at Hickory's, he gave us some beef brisket to try, on the house! This was on top of the popcorn. We were celebrating a birthday, and they also brought out a lovely sparkling surprise and sang happy birthday :) The food was delicious. We will definitely come back again. This was without a doubt the best service we have ever received.

Was told the wait was 45mins-1hr. It went way past that and we were told 5 more minutes, however people coming in after us, sat at waiting tables and ordered at the bar. Completely disorganised.

I had a grilled sausage with a baby bottle full of chips, and I went on the rollercoaster outside the building. Wow!

Hickorys made my birthday meal extra special this evening. All the staff were super welcoming and friendly. Yuliia took such care by making sure my birthday sparkler came with an alternative treat that was suitable for my allergies, this was so considerate and surpassed my expectations. Would definitely recommend, hickorys take food allergies very seriously in general, with seperate fryers and care with the drinks too.

Great food and atmosphere. A barman had some trivia to share about Guinness which was an unexpected pleasure. Unfortunately, table service was extremely slow and we had no cutlery provided

By no means a cheap lunch, but the fried Chicken and the Texan brisket especially was top notch. I would say as a £20 dish decent value as it takes hours of cooking. The Chicken waffle my children (age 11 & 13 liked but a bit sweet for my tastes with the maple syrup. Nice lunch though as a prelude to Forest v Luton.

What can I say about this place other than outstanding. Great food, great staff & great atmosphere..what more could you want? I had the baby back ribs in a maple bbq sauce, served with slaw, pickled red onions & fries with a root beer float as a drink The food was delicious, the ribs just fell off the bone & the rub and sauce used in them was delicious. Overall I couldn’t fault the food it was outstanding. The staff there are really friendly too & I feel like they go that extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable and have everything you require with it being no fuss at all.

Great service received from Andy and it's team for my mate birthday. Place was packed but service seamless and food tasted delicious, shame I was driving so only one bevvy allowed.

Saturday night looks busy, but not really. Unwelcoming reception, they are holding so long. Don't bother to go.

Sonsutptised. Loved the Xmas Dec's. Cinema showing Xmas films. Free seats for kids. Decor was amazing. Inhad chicken waffles and maple syrup. Loved it. Very American style. Where staff chat to you a lot. But then get distracted and forget the cutlery or the menu ... Great for kids. Party atmosphere

I had the pleasure of dining at your restaurant on New Year's Day. I enjoyed the chicken basket starter and a full rack of ribs as my main course. I was thoroughly impressed by both the quality of the food and the prompt service. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

Hickory's Smokehouse: A Cut Above the Rest Hickory's Smokehouse recently blew me away with its incredible food, friendly service, and fantastic atmosphere. While it might be a bit pricier than your average pub meal, the quality of the food makes it absolutely worth every penny. Food: The menu at Hickory's is a carnivore's dream, with a focus on smoked meats and classic American barbecue dishes. I opted for the Cowboy steak with chilli cheese fries, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. The steak was juicy and flavorful, and the cheese and chilli fries were equally delicious. Service: The staff at Hickory's were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. They were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer recommendations. Drinks: I also have to give a shout-out to the Hickory's ale, which was a perfect complement to the hearty food. Overall: If you're looking for a delicious and memorable dining experience, Hickory's Smokehouse is the place to be. Got loads to eat. Loved the free popcorn. Nice clean place. Fab children's Cinema inside and outside play.

Website says they keep tables for walk ins but when we arrived the next available table was in 3hrs so obviously do not allow space for walk ins. Would book way ahead if thinking of going

We absolutely love it here and we took our son for his birthday today ! The service is phenomenal everyone is so friendly and our waitress was amazing ! To say it's the week in between Xmas and new year the staff couldn't have been better they made such a fuss of our son and the food was incredible! I will absolutely be back ! Thankyou

Been to this hickorys multiple times, never been a resturaunt I have returned to by choice, only because family members or friends wanted to go there for special occasions. Food is alright but overpriced, service has been terrible everytime I have been regardless of wether or not the place is busy. This time was by far the worst. Mums 60th, table of 6. First drink and food order taken quickly, great. Food came and ordered more drinks, drinks took half an hour to arrive. Empty glasses building up on table after multiple rounds of drinks, nobody clearing them. Desserts took half an hour to arrive and delivered to wrong table. After sitting on the wrong table for 5 mins finally taken from them and given to us which we obviously refused. Asked for 'optional' tip to be taken from bill. Everytime I've been here as soon as you ask for the pre loaded tip to be removed server's attitude changes. Still no glasses removed from table after 4 rounds of drinks. Server returned without removing tip and was asked to remove it again which she was not happy about. Given receipt for somebody else's table, asked for our receipt, given a receipt for yet another different table. Told I can't have a receipt now its gone through the system. Asked the manager to get my receipt, finally got one. Left unhappy. Too many kids waiting tables with little to no experience and absolutely no care.

Dinner on Christmas Eve on the 24th...there were a lot of people but we couldn't wait for a table... Call the 4 wild foods on the left...chicken salad...steak...Texas beef brisket and BBQ smoked chicken wings and 4 cups of wild drinks...the chicken salad and Texas beef brisket are both delicious... .The best food is Texas beef brisket...the meat is very juicy and delicious, and there are some surprises...the chicken salad is better than normal...the other two are just normal, nothing special...my name is Zuo A cup of grape soda... It tastes good when I drink it for a while... It tastes like potion... There is a parking lot in front of the parking lot and free parking...

I went with a party of 9. The service was superb and the food was great. I think it's a bit pricey but we still had a good time.

Our family and I have been to hickory's no end of times. The food is Amazing and the service is great. A lot better than Millar & Carter. I really love the food at Hickory's. Always come now and again for a treat. Fabulous Pub only a 20 minute walk as I live in Bilbrough. Can not thank the staff enough here. Definitely the best restaurant in Nottingham. Too expensive and do not appreciate having to pay a £6.50 tip. You have a tip if you offer one not put it on the bill. So will not be returning

Me and my partner came to hickory’s yesterday for his birthday that was the day before, a manager Joe greeted us at the door with a smile we spoke about how it was my partners birthday the day before and I’m assuming he told the bartender Kane and he was kind enough to make my partner a cocktail with no charge and had a lovely chat with him too, our servers were brogan and Elliott, they were also lovely as ever, both very cheerful and helpful, food was delicious as always! Highly recommend :)

If you want an American bbq dining experience in the UK, then hickories certainly fits the bill, on walking in you are greated with the smell of fresh popcorn, the food all tastes amazing but be prepared for your bill if those sides are too tempting. Will definitely visit again. Nuthall branch.

Our first visit turned out to be a wonderful culinary experience. The atmosphere in this place is wonderful. You can feel the holidays and the Christmas decorations are wonderful. The food we ordered turned out to be very good and the portions were huge. I recommend this place.

Really disappointing evening at Hickory’s. We took my little boy for his 6th birthday and the service was horrendous. It felt like we were forgotten about and just left sat there for over 2 hours which is very hard to keep a child entertained for. Overall a very poor experience

Came here for my 30th and can honestly say I won’t be returning I gave it a second go seeing as the first time I had come here it wasn’t good either, the ribs were dry had to fight to get the meat of the bone, can get a better ribs at harvester for half the price and it falls off the bone, second the table service was shocking we waited a good 30min for someone to come take our drinks order and when we had finish them we had waited that long that we had to get up and fetch our own, your trying to have a meal with friends and you have the chef shouting every 5min at the top of his lungs, the table was rocking every 5 seconds and just to top it off on the bill you charge £15 tip! 😂 tip what for service was terrible won’t be coming back rather go Wetherspoons

Absolutely brilliant, even though 5 of us walked in without a booking on a Saturday night and the restaurant was heaving they accommodated us and got us a table in the bar. Food was fantastic. Absolutely delicious, very tasty and keep quickly too. Perfect for a stop off instead of using a services!

We absolutely love Hickory's, we have been several times now and on different days of the week, the place is always packed even midweek which speaks volumes for itself. The food is always excellent, high quality and well presented. The best thing about this Hickory's over all the others is the number one top staff member who greets you at the door with a smile, a purr and a big fuss, none other than Hickory the Host Cat.

Great food and great staff. Unfortunately no handwash in the gents toilet, I did make a few members of staff aware but they didn’t seem to understand the importance.

We've been here twice before, the time before this visit I was pregnant and suffered horrendous sickness. When I got home my body said nope so to go back today was SO good. It's my husband's birthday and we wanted to go back. It's his favourite place and I can actually enjoy the food knowing I wouldn't be bringing it back up :-) So today we had Tich as our server. He was so friendly and the little touches made all the difference. He made my husband a paper crown which of course he had to wear. Then brought over the birthday platter not long after we finished our food. He was very attentive and had a good sense of humour. The food was delicious! We came away so full but happy! My husband had the platter for one and I had the baby back ribs. They were so tender and tasted amazing. Thank you for a great time as always!

Had a delicious meal here with the family this afternoon. Our 4 steaks were all cooked to taste and perfection. We were served by Leo who we have to say is a credit to Hickory's he went above and beyond for us throughout the meal, nothing was was too much and all delivered with a smile. An all round enjoyable experience for my Mum's birthday. Thank you

This is clearly well liked in the area as the car park was really busy when we pulled up, we had a taxi there so we were unaffected. It was busy but the atmosphere was nice. We gave our names at the front desk and she had to ask us a couple of times for our name, she gave the impression that we were not expected. We were advised to get a drink at the bar. Drinks selection was nice and varied. I had a cocktail which was lovely. Whilst waiting for our table in the bar saw staff go past with 2 chairs, then we were asked by the staff to follow them to the table (in the same place they had taken the chairs to) so it did feel like we were an after thought, this may have been coincidental but I didn't feel great. Our table was quite close to others but not overlooked too much. Waiting staff came and took the order quite quickly, ordered brisket tacos which were tasty but the meat one one was very fatty and had clear gristle on. (We shared a starter but they are not big - which was good so did not ruin appetite for main meal). Good time in-between courses. Main meal arrived, and very nice. Partner had the platter for one, lots of meat and he said it was really good. I had the brisket sub and this was really good! Good portion size. Again was made to feel a bit of a spare part, as not given cutlery (had to ask) nor napkins. This was resolved quickly but shouldn't have to ask. No room for pudding. Took quite a while for the bill to come as there were minimal staff around, they seem to tend to the larger parties more promptly. The Staff were friendly when interacting though. Prices are reasonable especially for the portion size. Was a nice night

My First time going to Hickory's today and let me tell you! I'd heard of them and wanted to see what it was all about, being a bit of a wannabe yank myself i was blown away, I've been to many an "American style" bar or "steak house" and been greeted with the same generic faff on the walls just to be followed up with bog standard pub food claiming to be American. NOT here, NOT at Hickory's, from the get go the atmosphere transports you to rural America from the NFL on the TVs at the bar to the hustle and bustle of the restaurant, it's very lively and insanely welcoming. Prices are very fair at the bar given I like to treat myself to doubles. Onto the food! We had the corn dogs, bacon bites, sharing platter and garlic mushrooms and couldn't finish it all! I'm a big guy and I like my food and I could not manage it, round of applause guys! And to top it off they gave me a box to take my spare meat home (chefs kiss!!) You'll be seeing me again Hickory's!

Always lovely food though they have now took some food of the vegetarian menu which is disappointing. Also we find the music to loud and have to shout to make each other heard, if these two issues were fixed it would be perfect.

Been there many times. We really enjoy the shared platter, as well as the half chicken, the brisket, the bourbon glazed ribs, and the mac and cheese. They recently got rid of our favourite mac and cheese, the one with sausages in it, but you can still get the sausages on the side. And the new Beef Brisket mac and cheese is hitting the spot. Good range of cocktails, and we like the Driftaway tropical beer. Friendly staff. Fast service. Dog friendly area, where you can eat and drink, while your dog chills under your table. Overall, a great place for meat lovers. They have TVs where you can watch sport while drinking/eating.

1st time visitor and service was great, food excellent and served promptly. Overall experience great. I had the BBQ rack and literally fell off the bone and melted in my mouth, so tender.
