Bocana in Brighton and Hove

Brought my family who came to visit from Spain and we were impressed with the quality and portions. I will go back again whenever I fancy seafood as doubt many places in Brighton cook it like this.

Amazing seafood ever. I’ve ordered grilled salmon steak, it was so tasty and fresh. The chef Agnas and Betty are so welcoming and professional. I’ll be back for sure.

It's a seafood restaurant with plenty of delicious food. I ate Rosted scallops and Seafood linguine and was satisfied! The food was so tasty and fresh both salad and seafood and on top of that it was plentiful :) Thanks guys for doing so well. We had a wonderful time there.

Had an excellent meal last night, seafood linguine followed by tiramisu and a couple of glasses of wine. Really enjoyed it, would have given it 5 stars but the service was a little slow, only one serving staff on, however people were very friendly and I'll definitely call in again.

Went today in the Afternoon and enjoyed a nice Seafood Linguine, it tasted amazing and i'm definitely coming back, the staff were nice and friendly and the place was very clean.

My friend told me about this place, he said they do the best breakfasts. So we went today. We both had a full english which comes with tosst and jams. And we both had a Cappuccino. The breakfast was lovely and we didn't have to wait long. The Cappuccino was nice too and stayed hot throughout our visit. The service was good they are polite. It's worth the trip.

Everything was perfect, the food , the service and the atmosphere. Pasta was so delicious, good portions and price. Staff was very friendly. I would love to go there again.

Great service, very good value and good food, not to mention healthy selections available, that aren't bland. Was only there for breakfast on a rainy Sunday, so not sure about atmosphere and what the afternoon/evening menu may be like though.

Today, I visited Bocana and enjoyed full breakfast. It was first visit I have had here. I like this restaurant to the point I would like to have dishes here everyday!

The second time my partner and I have had lunch here and even better than the first. Grilled scallops served in melted butter on their shells and sea bream, both with chips and a Greek salad absolutely delicious, with a sinful sticky toffee pudding to follow. All very simple but not always done well, but this friendly and cheerful neighbourhood eatery does everything perfectly.

For my 50th birthday I recently hired out the back room in Bocana. It was wonderful! My friends loved the amazing, delicious food! I love that you can see the chef cooking, food is perfectly cooked and is reasonably-priced. All plates clean :). It was a great space to get get a group of 18 friends together for an informal gathering. The staff are super friendly, everything arrived on time and I even got a slice of tiramisu with a candle in! My partner and I are fairly regular customers so know doubt we will see you soon. Thank you so much Bocana team!

Went to Bocana today for Valentine’s Day and it was the best food I ever had. I got the seafood platter and it was delicious. Staff were super friendly and sorted me and my friend out big time. The atmosphere was spectacular and the food was fairly cheap for what it was. Definitely coming again.

Just an outstanding experience again. We went with friends down from Bournemouth and the food, freshly cooked to order was excellent. The oysters were expertly prepared, whole bass, bream, prawns and scallops cooked on the half shell could not have been better. We will return time and time again. Thank you everyone at Bocana!!!

Food was insane. Portions was good. Service was amazing. Sat 8 of us. Arnie was so nice and accommodated us very well, put in a lot of effort to make sure we were happy. Ollie cooked the food to perfection and didn’t put a single bad song on. Better than clubbing ngl. Give this place a chance if u want a nice third place to chill.

Great vibes from the moment we stepped in, Arnie the waiter looked after us and ensured all our needs were met for our group and even customised the table seating for us. Ollie the chef prepared some delicious seafood and had the best music on all night. Genuinely a hidden gem on lewes road. You won’t regret coming in here either for a cheeky brekkie, coffee or even a full seafood dinner with delectable tiramisu after.

Went to Bocana today after hearing good things and reading the reviews. We ordered the seafood platter and oh my it was delicious. We could see them cooking it to order and it was covered in a moreish garlic/ buttery sauce and came with chips. The staff who were present (unsure if they own it) were so welcoming, friendly and the service was exceptional without being intrusive. Would recommend to anyone. They’ve said they’re updating their menu soon so we look forward to returning! Thanks :)

4.5* but for the price it is very reasonable. The food was nice, the seafood pasta was good although there was still a bit of grit in the clams. Good seafood flavour, and the mixed grill was tasty although a bit small. Staff were polite

A family run restaurant with an impressive range of meals (breakfast through to dinner) and a menu to please lovers of meat, fish and vegetarian. There is also a very good range of alcoholic and soft drinks. Spotlessly clean, the friendliest of staff and a pleasing, modern, ambience. I've done here a number of times and have found the standards to be consistent. The fish, btw, is delivered fresh on a daily basis. Highly recommended.

We visited Bocana for lunch.. we didnt notice any flavour in the seafood mains specially the fish - they said it has garlic and butter but we didnt feel the taste of any. Friendly staff and kids meal is of a good portion

Here's a surprise. Well prepared seafood at a sensible price. The oysters are very fresh despite the journey from Essex. The seafood tagliatelle was one of the best I have had. There is a minor issue with the two window tables, which are uncomfortable in bright sunlight. However this is a good restaurant overall. Well done!

My friends and I had a lovely meal here. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about food. The menu is interesting and lots to try that can encourage you to go back time and again. We sat at a table outside, which I wouldn't recommend and the road is very busy. Do stay indoors and enjoy the ambience!

Delicious food and the staff were really sweet. It's by the road so not quiet, but it didn't matter at all and we sat outside. Would definitely go again.

AMAZING seafood restaurant in Brighton & GREAT value for your money! I honestly have not found good quality seafood, worth the value in Brighton the last few years. However this small family-run restaurant has authentic delicious seafood. The staff are very friendly and attentive, (big thank you to Jessy!!), the chef is very skilled for working alone and delivers superb seafood. I highly recommend the seafood linguine, which is the closest you will get to genuine Italian seafood in Brighton (from an experienced Italian). Overall definitely worth trying out!

Brighton is well-known by the seafood. This restaurant will never fail you. Seafoods are fresh. Dishes are yummy. Staffs are very friendly. You must love and enjoy the food and staff there. I agree with one of the previous comments - "Gem in the town"👍❤️

Went there for a birthday dinner celebration and had my 1st roast. It was a really tasty Lamb Roast I do recommend. The other dished looked tasty too. The w.c is tidy and clean. The staff are really nice and the music wasnt too loud. They even have a Betty Boop Doll. One thing I didn't liked: they didn't had chillies. ( I love my food w/ chillies).

Two Sunday lunches here recently, both beef and both delicious and a challenge to finish (I didn't!)... chunky slices of medium rare beef and super beers and wine to accompany. Best spuds I've had on a pub roast (rival my Mum's). Book but can turn up for a 'bar table' if there's 2 of you.

We wanted food and the person we were with had a discount card as he works for Bella Italia in London. We had a starter and a main which was good service, the only downside was the pudding, which was caused problems, we asked for the a Mean Joe with Sorbet and no cream, or Ice Cream. When it first came out it had Ice Cream and Cream on it, we sent it back and told them no Ice Cream and Cream, just Sorbet, the Meringue and Strawberry Sauce. It came out the Second time and it had Ice Cream still in it, but no cream this time, we asked for the second time for just Sorbet, the Meringue and Strawberry Sauce. It was not the best service near the end, at the beginning it was best.

Just brought my mum in for lunch as it's virtually next door from the hair salon, and we LOVE it!! We had the prawn cocktail and halloumi fritte for starters, and the swordfish steak & the prawn linguine for our mains. The food is cooked to perfection, the presentation is beautiful, the portions are generous and the atmosphere is gorgeous. Well lit, well decorated, and the staff are so warm and friendly. Top rates to Bocana! If you like a seafood and grill restaurant, you won't be disappointed if you come here 😊

Ordered via delivery. A cheeseburger with chips. The beef burger itself and salad was cooked well, with a decent lather of sauce. However, the bun was rock solid. Stale for sure. The risk might be acceptable on a small budget, but not at the prices they charge. Slightly below average.
