Service terrible last visit...we ordered burger and a wrap 15 mins before kitchen opened even though chefs were still there preparing....wasn't a problem so got a drink and sat down must add we were first people in there....then about 5 past 12 people started coming in then 10 mins or so later they start getting there food so went up and asked where ours was said will be there soon waited another 5 mins after more people started getting pizzas went back up and said where's our food we ordered when no one was in here and they all are getting there food?was told it's because they got pizza so it's faster to cook looked at my watch in front of him and was 23 mins past said it doesn't take 20 mins to cook a burger and do a wrap just be honest they've forgot the order no sir it's a thick burger was his response I said are you being serious he said yes sir about 28 mins past then I got our food wasn't worth the wait burger was tiny bun was dry couldn't be bothered to complain no one came to the table to ask if we were happy !..... wasn't impressed it's a shame because I've been many times and enjoyed the food and beer shame this experience ruins things

Great pizzas, interesting beers and a quirky vibe. Plus the staff are excellent.

We were passing this bar when a heavy shower descended, so we called in mainly to get out of the rain. We enjoyed our visit. The staff were pleasant and we had two glasses of prosecco in a pleasant environment.

We entered and I can’t say greeted but met by a lady, she didn’t say anything and we asked if it ok to just come in for a drink, she stood aside and we found ourself a seat. When at the bar the same lady served us. Again she didn’t say anything so we told her what we wanted to drink. Drinks were paid for and again nothing, not a thank you or a smile… We observed various staff members whilst having our drink from chefs to bar staff and everyone looked unhappy in their job, no one spoke to each other.. It was quite quiet and the lady behind the bar was constantly on her phone and kept looking over like we were inconveniencing her by being there.. We finished our drinks, took the empty glasses back to the bar and again no thank you or goodbye. I’ve never experienced anything like it. Such a shame really.

Great gluten free roast! And interesting healthy soft drinks to try. Nice environment. Recommend!

Lovely security guy and tasty pizza. But I will never understand why businesses have silly rules like “we don’t sell our pre made deserts, that are just sitting there, after 10pm”. Here I am at five past 10, with money to spend and sugar cravings, and it’s too much effort to just place a slice of cake on a plate for me. Crazy mental chicken oriental.

I went to Bocabar for lunch a couple of weeks ago. I had the margarita pizza and it was delicious yet simple. I liked the overall ambiance of the restaurant. I am excited to go back and try more dishes.

Not impressed. Was my daughters birthday. Staff were rushed. Couldn't get a drink order right. Didn't know what was on available on the menu. Had to ask for the menu. Were told to remind the staff if condiments were required instead of them being offered. Option service fee is included as opposed to it being volunteered. Just a bad experience all over. Won't be visiting again. Felt we were just a number and the attention was all on the bar guest as it was sat evening. Been here before but standards dropped.

Good selection of pizzas and a good offering of local produced ales. Often a good locally prepared IPA goes down well. Can get very busy at certain times so booking is often advised. An "optional" 10% service charge is added to the Bill. If it's optional I'd rather opt in to paying than opt out. The server removed the charge but it should not be added in the first place. The service is functional at best and does not deserve a service charge.

It was our first time in Bristol and we decided to visit this trendy restaurant/cafe/bar. It's split into two distinct areas. As you enter its more of a cozy cafe, with comfy sofas and in the back it's more like a restaurant with tables and chair. All very light and airy and really inviting. We sat at the restaurant. The service is super friendly and hospitable. Well done team They have a huge variety of food and a very big selection of pizzas. From the classics to some amazing innovative ideas that taste great. The pizza is big and definitely enough for two medium eaters. Great quality. Overall a fun, happy place to visit

Had a fantastic time, a brunch with a friend. Our waiter was very courteous, funny and non-intrusive. Have spoken to several members of staff and all were lovely on the day. Had a £10 vegan breakfast and a really good Bloody Mary. All tasty, as usual. A fab visit.

It was very busy when we went on a Sunday and the staff were rushed off their feet but the service was terrible. The girl who served us was completely miserable and was huffing at us when we were ordering food. We weren’t sure what we could order so we went for Spanish omelette, hummus and quinoa from the deli. It was lovely but unfortunately we had to sit on a table that was piled high with plates and mugs as no one was available to clear it.

Very rude staff. I was refused to serve and rudely approached by 4 waitress simultaneously, because I was politely surprised by service process. All I asked is a bit of customer service.

Really nice atmosphere, great choice of food. The vegan pizzas we had were both massive and excellent. The salads (that we didn't have) looked amazing too.

They had two tills open and only Brennan was serving, I was waiting at one queue and when it got to my turn he left me waiting to serve the other queue. Then I asked another worker if they could take my order to which she replied “sure, let me just put another order in and I’ll be with you”, then she disappeared. So I left. Not sure about this level of customer service for a place that comes across well at first. Not sure I’ll come again.

Good service and amazing choice of meat, vegetarian and vegan pizza as well as burgers and other mains. Nice desserts!

The service at Bocabar was a bit slow during our visit, primarily because a large table of 30 was in the house. Despite the wait, the staff remained courteous and attentive, doing their best under the circumstances. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and tasteful decor creating a perfect setting for a relaxed evening out. The background music was pleasant and added to the overall cozy vibe. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. The menu choice for people with dietary requirements was brilliant. Each dish prepared was bursting with flavor. The menu offered a delightful variety of options, and everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. Overall, Bocabar is a charming spot with outstanding food and a pleasant ambiance, Definitely worth a visit!

A great little place for food and drink. The pizza’s are great and the cocktails and mocktails are fab. There’s a small outdoor area as well as restaurant and casual bar area with sofas.

The vibes here are always fun. It was quite lovely and busy for a weeknight which is refreshing to see. We sat outside and had our pizzas….delicious as always!

We booked out some sofa space for a joint birthday party and the staff were welcoming and accommodating, the food and drinks were great and the setting was inviting and relaxed. Highly recommend.

The friendliest staff. I had some ridiculous food intolerances that they accommodated beautifully from the lady who ordered it to the lady who served it. I can’t eat carbs - at all - and they didn’t even raise an eyebrow. Thank you 🙏🏻

I had never been here before but always wanted to visit and finally got to have lunch here today. My ‘Boscotta’ (no. 9) pizza was genuinely exquisite, the match of anything else I have had in the UK. My daughter’s ham and cheese toastie was also excellent, as were the loaded. Great beer selection too, loads of space and friendly service. I loved it here and hope to come again when we are in Bristol.

Beautiful food, relaxing child friendly staff and surroundings. Pleasure to visit, and never fails to please. Still a must visit place on any Bristol trip.

Pizza done like pizza should be

Visited for my son’s 20th birthday with seven family members the service was great, staff were friendly and attentive and pizzas were lovely.

Really lovely setting for a light lunch. I went for the Bahia Piccante pizza which was really tasty, the pepperoni had just the right amount of kick to it. My partner had the falafel wrap and said it was very delicious as well. They had a houseplant stall in the middle where you could purchase them and I did go a bit wild in the aisles with this. All in all very reasonably priced and will be returning!

Went in for a drink, then decided to eat, and got a table as it was quieter than normal, but great atmosphere, friendly staff , and pizza and salad was really good, ( not had goats cheese on a pizza before, inspired!). Lovely place, would imagine when busy that it's absolutely buzzing. Definitely worth a visit!

We went to Boca bar last friday for a few drinks and snacks to celebrate our friends birthday. The restaurant was fully booked which is no surprise. We were able to get seating outdoors and later moved indoors when there was space. Staff were very friendly, especially one of the ladies on bar (sorry we didn’t get your name!) we ordered an apple cocktail but you had ran out of the apple spirit and made us something in the same vain but custom for us it was amazing and we appreciated the extra effort! Food is amazing, seating is very relaxed, lots of sofas which is a big plus for us but may not be for others. Love all the plants too. Great experience overall and will be back

Good pizza and really friendly. We visited about 5 on a Friday and there were families in there and was really chilled out. Pizza was good.

Large bar, outdoor seating and a good variety of seating which many bars lack. The atmosphere is relaxed and there is a good selection of drinks. The pizza’s are good and the service was quick and efficient. There were annoying flies inside and so investment in UV fly killers would help. The odd socket for mobile chargers would have been useful but hardly an essential unless like me running a bit low on juice. Overall nothing should distract from a comfortable and well managed place.

We regularly visit this bar and have enjoyed it on many occasions, however, last nights visit the staff weren’t very welcoming, despite it being very quiet it took ages to get served at the bar because of uninterested staff standing around chatting! We also ordered our usual pizzas we always have, but last nights offering the chef seemed to have missed off our toppings as the pizza was very bland, I sincerely hope this isn’t the decline of Bocabar.

What a surprisingly cool place for a delicious Sunday lunch! We had a big group and paid a deposit in advance. Service was great. Thanks Bocabar!

A great place to relax eat and drink, lovely atmosphere for all to enjoy..

We do like this place but do not go very often as it always seems to be the same problem.. whatever time for closing is advertised take at least a hour off of that!… I had a lovely dinner catching up with an old friend, the food is good. But at just gone 9pm no coffees were available because “the machine has been cleaned”… they are supposed to close at 11pm on a Thursday? This has happened many other visits. So we had another drink instead but at just gone 10 pm last orders were called?! So we decided to leave and continue our evening just up the road. Like I say this happens every time we visit. It was not as if we were the only customers there as it was quite busy… they must be losing so much revenue one way and another it is such a shame as it has a great laid back relaxed vibe and we would frequent more often if it were not for this.

Always a please, a regular spot for us.

Delicious gluten free pizza, the best I've had in a long time. The choice of food on the menu was really good. The waiter was also excellent, very informative and helpful. Quite a few young families eating there, it was a little quiet when I first got there but was busier with a better atmosphere by the time I left. Overall a really enjoyable lunch, will definitely be back!

Great venue & incredible staff! Shout out to Thops (I think his name was) at the bar who made some gorgeous cocktails & amazing service. Highly recommend everything there.

Such a great vibe here, love the decor and the atmosphere. This boca bar is located in paintworks which is such a creative area, and it shows inside that they continue that creativity, displaying artwork for sale etc. Pizzas are amazing in here, would always recommend boca bar

Loved this bar. Great team who Are very efficient and lots of choice for beers if you are a fanatic of unheard of brews! Lovely environment and although we didn’t eat here the food Looked terrific and lots of busy tables some reckon a popular haunt. Just off Temple street area and close to other bars and restaurants so All up a really good couple Of hours here.

Great foods and the top service! Love the place but it does get really REALLY busy and loud! We enjoyed the time tho. We went early for dinner and left earlyish before it gets too crowded.

We discovered Bobacar after visiting Titanic exhibition nearby. Bobacar was very welcoming and was a relaxed and pleasant experience. Only coffee this time, but perhaps food next time.

Long wait for food as kitchen ticket not printed, lack of communication, which is a shame as the place was lovely but sadly this has put us off

A nice place to grab a quick bite. We arrived at peak time so it was busy and the staff were clearly in a rush but the food was nice and there's a few different areas to sit with different feels to them (cafe/lounge/restaurant)

Went for lunch, seated at back next to register. Despite this service was poor, felt forgotten. Slow service, but good and drinks very nice. Asked waitress stood behind us at till is we would be able to order some coffee (waited 20 mins before trying to get someone’s attention) - told ‘I can’t I’m on my break’. 15 mins later another member of staff came and offered us the bill.. we still waiting to try and order coffee. It’s a shame because most staff do seem lively and the food is delish. Just very meh overall experience.

I love the place, good food and good drinks but the staff are not always receptive and the place closes before 9pm and the place closes before 12am as specified on Google.

Fantastic place to have a drink with gourmet pizzas and other nice gourmet Fayre to boot! Comfy Chesterfield sofas and chairs dotted about but best to book a seat in advance on a weekend in particular. There is art on display for sale, and a great selection of house plants too which adds to the original quirkiness of the place. The doormen / security are complete gent's who just further compliment the place. Great spot, absolutely love it ❤️

One of the best pizzas I've ever had! We were in a rush as we arrived late (had an emergency beforehand) but they seated us and served us really quickly. The waitress was freindly and helpful and clearly enjoyed her job despite it being Friday night during the festive season. Would highly recommend!!

Disappointing visit for lunch because of a large party, only pizza, fries and salad available. If you know how many customers you're expecting, put extra staff on, please and don't disappoint.

Great place for meeting friends

One of my favourite places. Great food and beverages However 4 years on....at least 3 items we wanted, advertised on the website were no longer available. And the cocktail offer was not advertised. Slightly pushy waiters, had to ask for pepper and the oil. On the salad was slightly stale

I have been to Bocabar a couple times for pizza & it is always a winner as couple or in a large group. We had Sunday dinner for the first time & it was delicious. Highly recommend booking in advance for that.

Booked a table for Sunday roast for 2.45pm (they serve until 3.45pm). Took 20 minutes to be asked for drinks and food (we had to ask to have our order taken). We were then told they had no more roasts, after we ordered, which was strange as surely they knew how many people were booked and it was still 3pm at this time. Had a pizza instead which is always decent. Service felt like we were an inconvenience and in the way. All staff seemed disinterested and maybe it was the end of a shift but nevertheless. Previously I have had a good experience here but today was terrible.

Very good pizzas , menu limited . Good atmosphere for visit with friends and family . Staff very helpful . If you don't like children running all over the place avoid Saturday afternoons

This was not a good experience, the music started quietly in the background and got louder and louder. Myself and friends would not hear each other speak, Not good. Will not be going back. Not great as I live very locally .

Had a lovely roast at Bocabar yesterday. I am coeliac AND veggie AND dairy free AND don't eat white potatoes so it's quite hard for me to eat out. Happily, Bocabar were able to cater for me with their nut/lentil roast. I have deducted a star because I wasn't able to have a yorkshire pudding or croquettes due to them not being gf and there being no gf alternative. If I am honest I wouldn't have been able to eat any more than what I was given anyway but it would have been nice to have the choice. The nut roast came with a tomatoey sauce, which was ok but I would have preferred some normal (gf) gravy tbh. Also my broccoli spear was undercooked but no biggy. The roasted cabbage was an unexpected delight and the carrots were nice. Parsnips sadly lacking in crunch and a bit bland but that could have been the lack of salt (see below). My boyfriend had the chicken and said it was really nice but it also came with an alternative (milky?) gravy and he would rather have had traditional. He said the roast potatoes were amazing. They certainly looked great - really crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. I had the Raspise (I think) to drink and it was possibly the nicest drink I have ever had (see photo - not the best pic of me ever but I think it captures my delight). It's like being snogged by a particularly delicious raspberry. The staff were lovely - friendly, attentive, nice bit of banter etc. I could have done with salt and pepper on the table because I didn't realise I needed it until the end of the meal but I guess that speaks to the wonderful company I was keeping ☺️
