We came to this cafe on the way to work and don’t know why we bothered, everything inside was dusty & unhygienic and I dread to think what the kitchen would have look like 🤢🤮. We got mouldy bread on our sandwiches and the jacket potato we bought was rock hard and very very greasy. I will not be coming here again and I do not recommend, save your time and your money and find somewhere else. He also refused to sell me almond milk and other items in there shop

We took a group of 12 year old boys here today after a visit to the Escape Rooms. Had ordered food in advance knowing that we would be cutting it fine to get there before closing. Arrived almost at closing time and was worried we were too late but the people running the cafe were so lovely and so accommodating, they really went above and beyond. The food was great and so cheap - for a family trying to make a birthday celebration special on a very tight budget it was perfect! Huge thanks to everyone at the Bob In Cafe.

Called for a meal just after dinnertime (we remembered this time and went early - although it doesn't shut until 3pm you won't get served here from around 2.30 onwards as we found last time we tried). Hubby fancied the special of stewed steak and dumplings, chips (he had chips rather than the mash that it was supposed to come with) and veg. There was lots and lots of meat on the plate, in fact there was too much food for my food loving hubby and he left some which is something that rarely happens, I wanted cheese and onion pie but that had run out so I was offered homemade meat and potato pie instead with chips and I wanted baked beans and wow was it good, again a massive plate full and I couldn't finish it - one thing to be said for this place, they don't skimp on portions, not good if you are a slimmer in that case you should avoid it haha. Prices are reasonable too, only let down (although as long as you are not bothered its not a problem) is the surroundings, it is very much more of transport cafe than a Michellin starred restaurant but provided you know this before visiting you won't be disappointed.

Been meaning to visit this Cafe for a long time. And on first visit..the breakfast was delicious..quick service..presented well and tasted delicious and at a good price. Second visit....what happened.. it took 45 mins to serve. It wasn't busy..it appears the deliveries take presidence. Cos it surely clear the customers who que and wait for the food doesn't. Finally the food arrived. No Salt n Pepper on the tables.. no condiments.. ok the salt n pepper was served in little packets. But it's not rocket science ..ketchup..mustard..Salt and pepper on a table. So finally the breakfast arrived. The bacon just about done. We think it was just above raw. The sausages cool and bacon were cool to touch. Obviously it was rushed out. And we didn't enjoy it at all. Normally I would of sent it back..but I couldn't be bothered nor my wife. We ate it because we were hungry. My wife was in a rush due to waiting 45 minutes. We chucked it down our throats..out of principle because we both were hungry. We also witnessed other plates on other tables food was left and one plate. Just about a fully brekky was left. I can't see us rushing back soon. Shame. After all this time meaning to call on this cafe and to be let down. Sam B.

A little hard to find but this cafe is a definite must. Near the college which helps to support the cafe. Good food at reasonable prices with a friendly atmosphere, wheelchair friendly including the toilets. Great place to eat.

Just an ordinary cafe with all the usual fare, bit disorganised at the counter (I ordered a milkshake from the menu, the assistant serving said they couldn't do them today but another one said yes they could and then neither finished our order). We all thought £2-3 for a slice of cake was a bit pricey, they were nice but not outstanding, wouldn't rush back

Called in for a late breakfast/early lunch, had a fried breakfast as a treat, it was fine nothing special, the sausage was a little crisp to say the least but there was plenty of it though . The staff very friendly and efficient the food cooked fresh (I think), Prices reasonable and the place is clean, car parking good as it's on a small industrial estate and easy to get to, probably better than going into town. For a quick easy meal/snack go for it.

I've just been here to get a breakfast bun to take away. When I walked in I was ignored by the women serving while she finished her conversation. But stood there patiently anyway. At that time I was the only person waiting to be served. Just as she finished her conversation somebody else came in and she served them instead. I don't know about the quality of the food as I walked out. I don't appreciate being ignored. I could understand it if was busy but, it wasn't. That will be my first and only visit to this cafe.

I have never had a breakfast this bad before I don't know how the person who cooked this could have sent this out. Pathetic human needs to get a grip and a new job because its obvious that you can't cook or just don't care!

Called here as I had seen the sign and never been able to find it, asked directions from a passer-by this time and found it, in amongst the industrial units. Bit of a transport cafe type of cafe really, back of unit was littered with packs of tea cakes, packs of toilet rolls and boxes of eggs etc. We were a bit bewildered what to do as there were no staff in evidence and no menu's on the table, anyway I saw a printed paper menu on the counter top so had a look through it - there were also chalk boards with things on. It took ages for the server to come to the till (they can't really see the till from the kitchen so don't know you are there). No smile from the server she looked annoyed that we had stopped her getting on with what were obviously pre orders for delivery/collection, however, have to say a little later a man (presumably the boss) came and he "loitered" about the cafe meaning he was on hand to take orders timeously, think we might have been a bit early (although it was around 10am). When the breakfast came my hubby loved it - large breakfast with everything on it and he said the coffee was the best transport cafe coffee he had had. I had the Breakfast Stottie, large and good value although the stottie was a little stale and I left a lot of the bread and there was too much for me (much to my dogs delight when we got home!!) but it was nice tasting. Despite everything I would return as for £11 for both of us and the amount we got it was great value.

This is run by a retiree from the British railway. Located as an eatery for an industrial estate. On request, "Bob" has put on special Sunday dinners and more special "Robbie Burns Night." We had haggis, piped in by Mike the piper and Robin williams in full kilt costume. It was a night to remember.

My son and I went to Barrow-in Furness for a three night two day bird watching trip.We stayed at the Premier Inn where the convenient choice for breakfast would have been the nearby Brewers Fayre. Having read the Trip Advisor reviews we realised that the Bob In Café was only a 1 to 2 minute drive away. We each had a regular full breakfast on the Saturday and Sunday morning and were very pleased with both the quality of the food and the price. There was an option to pay slightly more for a hearty breakfast but having seen the size of the regular breakfast we are sure we'd never have eaten it all. We had bacon, sausage, beans, an egg, a hash brown, mushrooms, black pudding and a slice of toast with butter. My son had a coffee and I had a tea at the very reasonable total cost of £10.20 for the pair of us. The breakfast set us up for the day and we didn't feel the need to eat again until we went out for our evening meal.To all intents and purposes the venue was a transport café set in an industrial estate but Bob and his wife were friendly and helpful and made us both feel very welcome. The food was freshly prepared and not left to dry out under hot-lamps. I'm pretty certain from past experience that's not what we would have got at the Brewers Fayre.Should you be staying overnight in Barrow-in Furness then this spot is well worthy of consideration!

Occasionally 'bob in' on a Friday afternoon for a lunchtime panini. The range of flavours is great and always tasty. The staff are friendly and do a great job. Called in for Sunday morning breakfast to save cooking and washing up. What amazing value!! Two great breakfasts were served to us by friendly staff. You can see the kitchen from the dining area. It is spotlessly clean and you can see everything being freshly cooked. It was £4 each for the breakfast, which is fantastic value as you get 2 bacon, 2 sausages, an egg, black pudding, mushrooms, beans and a hash brown as well as a slice of toast!! We washed it down with a hot coffee and a tea. My husband didn't fancy the black pudding and when he asked for it to left off he was asked if he would like an extra egg instead. This is great service. We will definitely return, the menu looked smashing and if the breakfast is anything to go by I can only imagine the rest of the fare they cook and serve will be lovely. Absolutely worth a visit.

Having heard various reports about the fare provided by this restaurant decided to check for ourselves validity of the good opinions being given. As a taster decided to purchase the Steak and Ale pies priced at £1.50 each. Must admit was greatly surprised how excellent they were. The pastry was mouth crumbling and the filling was very generous and delicious. Will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu. Well worth a visit, which will be making quite often. Found a little gem.
