Great selection of games, staff are fab and so helpful and accommodating (also very funny, we laughed all night). We paid corkage which was very cheap and brought a few drinks to enjoy with us. Great value for money, really unique happy spot in Hastings, can’t wait to go back !

Hi! Can’t recommend enough. So friendly and knowledgeable with an infectious enthusiasm for the games. My daughter loves it and recently enjoyed her first dungeons and dragons session. The genie is very much out of the bottle! Thanks again - so lucky it’s on the doorstep in the old town.

We were looking for a way to extend a lovely day in Hastings, but didn’t want to go to a noisy pub, so we were very pleased to stumble across the Board Game Cafe. We only had limited time but enjoyed a couple of drinks and a new to us game. We were welcomed on arrival, asked what games we were interested in and had a chat with our host. He suggested two games, one we’ve previously played so we took that as a good sign and asked about the second game. He talked us through the rules, helped us set it up and we were playing quicker than we’d manage at home. We loved the game and the atmosphere and were sorry when we had to leave to catch our train. The service was welcoming, the drinks were just what we wanted and although we didn’t eat, the food menu looked good. There’s also a games menu if you’d rather choose your own to play. It was around 8pm on a Saturday night when we arrived and the place was just the right level of busy to have a good atmosphere without being overcrowded. My only complaint is that it’s not in the town where I live. I’d love to be able to visit more regularly and will definitely be returning every time we visit Hastings.

We stumbled across this gem by pure accident, we are so glad we did. We spent a few hours in here with the kids playing board games. It’s a bargain to play the games. £2pp per hour. We had some drinks and sweets and it was reasonably priced. I highly recommended visiting and we will be back

I visited here with my two children and my sister for the first time yesterday. What an incredible find! Gary the owner was so helpful and knowledgable about the games he stocked and what a selection. There is a menu which categorises the games into type and difficulty and he knows how to play all of them! We started off playing a Sherlock Holmes ‘Cluedo’ type game which my eldest son wanted to play. Gary was on hand to help with the set up and he explained the rules. Then after that game whilst my children played chess, Gary suggested a quick fun game for myself and my sister called Ghost Blitz which had us laughing out loud! We didn’t eat there as we had already eaten elsewhere but we had tea/coffee/cake which was lovely. What a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon and gets the children off their phones! We can’t wait to return.

There is coffee everywhere now, but this is excellent and carefully made. The same care goes for their pastries, cakes, sandwiches and ice cream.

I would have taken a photo before I ate most of it, but the brownies here are stuffed with chocolate but somehow aren't sickly sweet! The selection of hot chocolate is amazing, and my mum informed me
