Bluebird Chelsea in Kensington and Chelsea

Too expensive and not that delicious…

Wanted to have a nice brunch today and ended up with a clear reminder of why Blue Bird has the reputation it does. Might be worth asking the second-floor staff if they’re doing okay, because people who are actually happy, have self-respect, and know the basics of customer service don’t treat clients that way. Ended up dining elsewhere. Wouldn’t recommend.

Loved it! We did the set menu. The staff were so kind and welcoming. Really attentive. Food was great and ambience was perfect! Will be back.

I booked a table for Valentines day and had made our order within 15 minutes of seating. 40 minutes later our food still hadn't arrived and I had to chase it up. No apology made. To add to this, my partner and I had noticed that other tables that arrived after us had been given their orders already. I emailed the restaurant a couple of days ago to to express my dissatisfaction and they haven't even bothered to reply. I wouldn't class this establishment as anymore more then a 'standard' venue and it's definitely not up to the standards they are trying to portray. Updated: I have been contacted and the restaurant have gone over and above to address this so I have amended my rating.

Music was so good and the vibe there was so fun, bartenders were brilliant and friendly. Security guy I believed named Josh was so lovely and understandable so everyone there are all friendly and will make sure you have a great time safely! Would definitely recommend this place!

Wanted to go for a drink and bites to eat, got greeted by a grumpy man getting upset that I had normal inquires. You are at the door greeting clients, don’t be upset, roll your eyes or be annoyed you’re getting asked questions. When I called him out on being rude he replied but you’re asking so many questions. So much for being polite while doing your job nowadays.

Experience on the day was good but the food gave me and my friend severe food poisoning and when emailing the team to relay this they didn’t seem too concerned and haven’t done anything about the matter which is disappointing and really lets the place down, sadly won’t be coming back again!

I had a fabulous evening catching up with a friend! The cygnet gin cocktails were delicious and the food was incredible! I definitely recommend the sushi! Ewa looked after us for the evening and couldn’t do enough for us

Walking the Kings Road between appointments at the Marsden and looking for a coffee. A bird decided to use my head for target practice. Lucky I was wearing my hat. Went into the Bluebird and they kindly let me use their facilities to clean. Must have been a large bird!!! Lovely place and staff. Had a relaxing hour over a coffee and promised to he back for something more substantial. I did say that the bird and the Bluebird would bring me good luck and today had the first of procedures with good results. I will play the lottery this Friday and will include the lovely people at the Bluebird. It is obviously a fine establishment but certainly not stuff. Elegant relaxation I would say and will frequent.

We will never come back here!! We were a group of 10 people to celebrate a birthday. We had to wait 10min outside to have our table ready even if we booked. the hostess was very unpleasant. Then, it took us 45min to have a waiter to come to the table and take the order. The cocktails were definitely a cheap mix of water/juice at £15, very disappointing for such place. The food was ok, but the portions were very small! The staff was very rude and had a very unpleasant encounter with one of the waiter. He threatened one of our guest and screamed in front of everyone. I understand that you can be upset, but this is a restaurant and we are paying to have a good time and not being intimidated by the staff. I would definitely not recommend this place, unless you have nowhere to go. Food and staff are tragic and not up to standards.

The food was amazing, place was jam packed despite that they had amazing service. If no one else was there and the meal was done at the chefs own time no doubt it would be 10/10

The Sunday roast was amazing! Loved seating on the rooftop, spacious, warm and cozy.

Meh! Food great, location great, service just let let let it down! Which is why I give it a meh! Everyone knows that even if the food is amazing but the service is not then you pretty much leave disappointed. Servers ignored us pretty much from the minute we set down and seem more concerned with the obviously ‘high paying’ tables. We sat for 20 minutes without having our drinks taken and then the. The food ‘part’ arrived along with the starter bread we had ordered. Vege sat on the server table and eventually came over. Getting this bill and paying also took more calling as it was clear we were invisible. Such a shame as the food was gorgeous! It was a special occasion and maybe some people are regulars here but it was a treat for us and was highly let down but the lack of though and demeanour of the wait staff!

Just left Bluebird Cafe. First round of scrambled eggs were cold and bacon looked like it was cooked 4hours ago. Second plate of eggs served with wire in the eggs!!!!! OMG do not eat there. Could have seriously choked on the wire. They asked if I wanted more eggs. Are they kidding. Obviously hygiene in that kitchen is non existent! Last time I ever go to that place

Came after our engagement to celebrate. The food was delicious and the service was great. Paula was our server. They gave us a nice congratulations desert plate to celebrate.

Chelsea is renowned as a prestige area, therefore, you would expect great service. There is no establishment with the area that looks after and caters for their clients more so then Bluebird. The star of the show every single time is the wonderful Patricia! Unreal service and such a wonderful place. This is my favourite place and tbh the only place I now go. That’s due to the quality of the food, service and what a great environment!

My family and I came to this restaurant couple of weeks ago for the first time and unfortunately we were met by the rudest, most disrespectful and unprofessional waitress I have ever met. Frowning at us she said there were no available tables for 5 people and added that she would need to attach 2 tables. There were many other suitable tables she could have given us but she led us to one in particular next to the bar pointing with her finger to a row of tables and disrespectively continued on her way . We followed her thinking she was taking us to another table but she turned and gave me the nastiest look ever angrily muttering to herself, I immediately understood that she wasn’t interested at all in helping to get us seated ( as there were many other empty tables available). She deliberately led us back to the tables next to the bar which were terrible & very uncomfortable . I then asked her if there was a better place pointing to the places by the windows. She replied ,while walking away, "all the places are booked". Although she told a couple (who arrived after us) that the places by the windows were booked for a wedding but they still had time to sit at the table before the wedding guests actually showed up. Whereas with us she refused to give us one of these tables. I didn’t like her tone of voice and asked her to show some respect but she replied loudly that I was being rude and then continued her impolite and disrespectful behaviour shouting and screaming in a way you would never see in a respectful place. We were appalled by her I found out later that her name was Racheal. Another thing I found strange was that with the other guests she happily took and offered to take their coats ,even from the children guests, but she totally ignored to do this with us. She treated us with unjustified hostility although my family & I were well-dressed, very calm and polite . This woman completly ruined our day and it will definitely be our last time in this restaurant due to the appalling service we received from this particular individual. Honestly, not recommended for “tourists”.

This is an excellent chic bar in London. It has a sophisticated atmosphere. The cocktails are delicious and there is plenty of choice. The ‘made in Chelsea’ cast often come to here to socialise, which can be an added bonus! I would definitely recommend here with a reservation booked of course!

Came here for lunch, what a relaxing atmosphere! Apparently there were no offers on the menu. I had the roast chicken, was just ok. Dessert was simply the best Monkey bread with a smoked caramel sauce, I was elevated! The extra star is for the dessert.

Super atmosphere! Industrial but refined style venue, excellent service, average food and DJ set that creates a perfect situation for a dinner with friends. Prices high but normal

The atmosphere was lovely, but I was deeply disappointed with both the food and our impatient server. The crème brûlée they brought out looked nothing like the photos in the reviews—it was a complete letdown. To make matters worse, they tacked on a 14.5% service charge, which given everything, was completely uncalled for.

This is a very special place. Even though there are celebrities and reality stars at every other table the staff treats you like gold. I as a 20 year veteran of high end service was blown away at the abilities of the staff, not only for the level of service but also the warm and welcoming feeling every member of staff displayed towards us during our lunch. I’m lucky enough to have to go to London a couple of times a year, here on in I won’t miss a chance to go to The BBC(blue bird cafe).

Amazing food and service. Our server pratik was very nice and catered to our needs. The outdoor seating is great under the heater when the weather is even cold.

January 8th 2025, I was briefly in London (live in the Netherlands) and met with childhood friends from all over the world, that I haven't seen for years, at Bluebird (was a referral from my sister). I am very sorry that we met there as in short we had HORRIBLE, RUDE AND SARCASTIC ATTUTUDE AND SERVICE FROM MARION (who served us with a long face and rude comments) and the food quality was not aligned with the prices and definitely not the service. HE RUINED OUR NIGHT & VIBE. The trigger for him was that when 2 friends came, 1 chair was missing and in my haste, I didn't see anyone around, I pulled a chair from the next table which was empty (the whole night there were max 3-4 table in the grand salon) and he did not like that! I apologized to him (he can also apologize for not being there but I did and he didn't') and he was not happy still. Then he posed a question to the whole table: "Would you like to move somewhere else? so we said, we are fine here, "Would YOU like us to move?" He said no. We were already 8 people at the table and as I said it was quite empty in the salon-we did not understand his reasoning and he did not explain it. Then he said: "YOU MAY GET BAD SERVİCE HERE," with a long face and left-kind of threatening us with bad service. Well he gave us bad service as he said so! He was so rude and made us so uncomfortable that his mean attitude along with the super high bill is the only thing we all remember from Bluebird. High bill, bad service, average food.

We sat upstairs. Service was awful. Waited for 10 minutes for someone to take our order. In the end we had to go to the bar. Very disappointed.

Went for afternoon tea and topped up with a cocktail each. Afternoon tea was £38pp and a cocktail was £15pp. There’s a 14.5% service charge which is fine and we kept on as there was nothing egregious about the service: service was just fine. Afternoon tea is fine but I would generally look for another location in future. Overall I would class this price category as a mid tier option for afternoon tea at about £40 including service charge. I think the most annoying thing was that you get a choice of four teas (we did earl grey and english breakfast) or coffee but we weren’t told if they were refillable and were never offered a refill (hence why we just ended up on a cocktail). However, these teas were teabags (Brew Co Company) which is a bit of a shame for the price. On the food, there were some pros absolutely, the scones were delicious and warm and had a softness to them and some of the pastries were really good (enjoyed the victoria sponge and the macaron). The cocktails are good here too, this is a separate purchase to our afternoon tea but they are STRONG and for £15 (cosmo and hugo spritz) we felt we got our moneys worth? However, and i WISH i got a photo, there are quite a few cons to the food. Finger sandwiches are smaller than the standard finger sandwich which is completely fine but the filling was also completely lacking, I think the cucumber and egg sandwiches quite literally had a smearing of filling (probably because we attended at 4pm and were maybe on the leftovers of the day) but still a shame. On the timing though, the bread on three of our sandwiches was quite stale and since we were never asked how everything was, we never really got the chance to flag this. Atmosphere was fine, really lovely location, just be mindful a lot of people come here to look cool so we were suffering from a LOT of other tables taking constant flash photography and one table with a barking dog that never got addressed but that’s sometimes what you expect and pay for with these mid tier options.

Overall, a bit pricey for what it offers. However, their £23 voucher for a three-course meal and a glass of prosecco is a good deal if you wanna try this restaurant.

Had a great afternoon tea experience during our visit in August 2024!! The staff, especially Patricia was very accommodating - and even made sure we get the afternoon tea, even though we were a couple of hours earlier than the tea start time. The tea itself and the snacks were delicious - and the ambience was fabulous! Highly recommend as a must have experience when you visit London.

Horrible! Terrible. I was there with a service dog and they wouldn't let me in. A service dog is not a pet. They said dogs are only allowed until 9pm.

Bluebird is definitely DOG FRIENDLY. My dog was pretty chill in the restaurant. She felt welcome by the friendly staff. There was a whippet as well. The restaurant is listed in the Dog-Friendly Chelsea Map which shows the shops and restaurants welcoming dogs. I possibly had the best Sunday Roast ever. Yes, it's more expensive than ordinary pubs. The rump steak was so tender, moist and flavourful. A generous portion of roast vegetables accompanied the rump steak and a giant crispy Yorkshire pudding. The roast potatoes were so delicious and crispy. (Forget about the calories 😀). My dog also liked the seasonal vegetables 😀 After finishing the whole plate, my tummy had no room for dessert. I will go back to try the roast pork next time.

Excellent Service and Good Food, the staff are lovely and the atmosphere holds a good balance between ambiance and liveliness. I really expected more from the food as it wasn’t in any way anything to shout about. Would recommend coming here for brunch or dinner but if you’re coming specifically for the food there are some top spots in the area.

We had a wonderful Friday dinner at Bluebird, thanks to our server Parth. He went above and beyond to make my wife's birthday perfect. Excellent service and a memorable evening!
