Always my goto when I head up to Xscape or the outlet next door. Great portions and always freshly cooked. In years of going never been disappointed once.

Went about a month ago and was nice but been back today and they where horrible fish was tasteless we left most of it and we have both felt sick all day since eating it.

Our very first visit. Only had chips. But. Must say. Absolutely brilliant. We were picking up friends from work. ( live in Huddersfield) . Quick to serve you. Pleasant. Definitely worth another visit.

Used to be good but it’s just got worse and worse. If you want fish and chips go to Johns Fish and Chips (it’s about 5 minutes away and so much better) and price is now very similar. Blue ocean used to be exceptionally cheap so you could understand the lower quality but now it’s the same price as everywhere else but worse food.

Absolutely love this chip shop, tasty chips and awesome scallop fish cakes, they actually have a chunk of fish between the potatoes, I used to go to Woodlesford for those as you don't get them everywhere but these ones beat them hands down. Fish is also nice, so is battered sausage. The staff are always friendly and still little amused when I ask for large curry sauce, mixed half Irish half fruity. Definitely recommend to try. We have 2 chip shops in our village but I will rather drive to this one in Castleford.

Fish and chips were very nice BUT the Parsley Fish cake and Sausage were both RAW I complained and it was replaced BUT the fat in the Deep fat fryer needs new oil the Sausage was OK but the fish cake was Vile.

Tasty fish and chips. Also a good selection of other meals. Because it's usually busy the food is always freshly cooked.

This place is amazing and me and my dad go frequently. Clean, nice staff and overall, amazing food. Very much affordable and large portions. Variety of meals, drinks and side dishes. Are 100% going again.

Cracking back of chips from here the two lady's behind the counter are fantastic...... They even give u batter bits here I've not seen them in a chip shop for years will definitely be going again.

We have never had any cause to complain about anything we've ever had from there. The fish & chips are always delicious and their fish, chips, side & drink is more than worth £5. Great place & people.

Brilliant fish and chips, always great service and value for money

Absolutely disgusting, got a regular chips tonight from this blue ocean chippy in Castleford, when I got home the stingy amount of chips shocked me, not enough for one let alone the two of us. £1.50 ripped off. Avoid this place, I won't ever return again, I usually go here for my chips and have been for a couple of years but not anymore! I'm absolutely disappointed. No explanation or excuse you provide to this review is good enough. If I could give zero stars I would. Avoid this place.
