Blue Naan in Suffolk Coastal

Wonderful food! Ordered a take away this evening & arrived hot & on time, beautifully prepared & cooked food of the very best standard. Total perfection. Thankyou.

12 of us went along for the banquet menu last Friday evening. The food was hot on arrival and it was all delicious, the lamb dishes were so tender. Previously we have enjoyed the Sunday banquet, this was even better. Service was great too. We look forward to our next visit.

One of our favourite Indian restaurants and one we always visit when visiting Felixstowe. A warm welcome from Johnny and his team, we were seated immediately, drinks offered and order taken. The food was delicious. Crisp, warm poppadums with a fresh chutney tray got the meal off to a great start. The menu offers both fusion and traditional fayre and I tried the Bao Buns starter with chicken and chilli, my guest going for onion bhagis. Both were a delight. Mains were a buttered chicken and a chicken tikka stir fry, piping hot and delicious, sides of Bombay potatos, pillau rice and plain nan bread completed our meal. Service was swift and unobtrusive. Price worked out at about £32 per head without drinks. Always a pleasure to eat at The Blue Nann

We had a wonderful meal here tonight. A lovely menu to choose from - very friendly owner and daughter who made us feel so welcome. Food was excellent quality and so very tasty. What a lovely decor too - owner should be very proud of what he as achieved - can highly recommend and can't wait to return

This restaurant has always offered exceptional food, my wife and I are regulars, but with the new addition of a street food section to the menu it has surpassed the great options already offered. The staff are so welcoming too that you will have a great evening, you can ask anything about the menu and Johnny and the staff will be happy to help. We have enjoyed many meals of the more traditional Indian options, as well as the fusion offerings, with the street food now offered, this restaurant offers something for everyone. The pictures are of the street food we enjoyed today. We left nothing, truly delicious.

First visit to the Blue Naan last night but it won't be our last. It's a varied menu which includes some unusual fusion dishes, we tried the chicken tandoori stir fry which was delicious. The owner and his team were very friendly and welcoming, the food was all piping hot and beautifully spiced, the naan bread was so light and fluffy, probably the best one I've had. Looking forward to going again when I next visit Felixstowe.

Took our 15 yr old Grandson for his first Indian and he loved it. The staff were really helpful on what he might like and he tried quite a few. They definitely went above and beyond. It was amazing, the food and hospitality. Would highly recommend.

The restaurant was an excellent choice to dine at. The food was delicious and the menu was slightly different to a standard Indian menu and we all chose something from the Special dishes and we weren't disappointed. This restaurant does not serve alcohol due to religious beliefs which was a surprise to us but this was a refreshing change and would not put us of visiting again

The BEST! I cannot begin to describe how seriously perfect every single smell, every tiny sip, every mouth-watering bite was… This is not the more traditional, Indian food you may have picked up and not even thought about on the way home. This is thoughtful, nuanced, fresh, and carefully developed. And while getting a take-away will obviously work in a pinch, the hand-crafted drinks, PERFECT pratha, and delicate batter on the pakora straight from the kitchen is something I will be dreaming about for years to come. Find the time to walk in and savor the meal, you will not be sorry.

The best Vegan/vegetarian menu I’ve ever come across in any Indian restaurant I’ve been in- I live in West London so have access to some of the best restaurants but …. Came to Ipswich to see our daughter and she had mentioned Blue Nann to us before so treated us to a meal xx Restaurant is beautiful and spotlessly clean and staff so friendly - loved it

When we are on holiday we are always on the lookout for good vegetarian food. Here in Felixstowe we found the Blue Naan. They have a large vegan/ vegetarian menu and the food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent and the atmosphere relaxed and very pleasant. No alcohol, which is another plus for us, but non alcohol beers, wine and prosecco and a whole range of drinks available. The mango colado was amazing. If we are ever close enough to Felixstowe again we will definitely go to the Blue Naan again. Just wish it was closer to home.

Went today to try the Sunday afternoon Buffet as read all the reviews and it didn't disappoint .........GREASE ? none on the food !! only the enthralling "johnny " who could have come straight from the musical of the same name ! ...........lovely spacious restaurant and was able to sit where we wanted ! super attentive staff and plenty of food offered in the eat what you wanted dedicated menu ......and was great to have food that was "heat " hot and not just warmed up ! will return !

5* all around. Staff were fantastic and very accommodating to allergies and dietary requirements. It was fantastic to have so many vegan & vegi options too!

If you are in Felixstowe and you want a great meal this is your destination! There's so much I can say about Blue Naan; a quick version, great modern feel to the restaurant's interior, a great welcome from arriving and the service level did not drop throughout our visit. What was refreshing was the Alcohol Free nature of the restaurant, they may do 'BYO' I didn't ask as the drinks menu was comprehensive and alcohol Free, a unique and inclusive touch; the atmosphere was no less muted by this, I would say an enhancement. The food... from the regular dishes you would be familiar with to fusion house specialities, every dish we had was fresh and utterly delicious. In a nutshell, Blue Naan is well worth a visit, we had a five star experience

My partner and I recently dined at Blue Naan in Felixstowe and had a mixed experience. We opted for the set meal for two, and the food was genuinely fantastic. Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared, making for a delightful culinary experience. However, our enjoyment was significantly marred by the service we received. The wait staff repeatedly interrupted our conversation, asking at least five times how the food was, which was not only excessive but also disruptive. This lack of communication among the staff was evident and frustrating. The most disappointing part of our visit occurred when it came time to pay. We paid in cash, and typically, we decide on the tip based on the quality of service. Given the poor service, we had no intention of leaving a tip. However, the young waitress who collected our payment assumed the entire amount included a tip and did not bring any change. This presumption was highly unprofessional and left us very dissatisfied. While the food at Blue Naan is excellent, the service needs significant improvement to match the quality of the cuisine. We hope management addresses these issues, as we would love to return for the food, but only if the service improves.

Had a lovely meal care of the Blue Naan two evenings running, a takeaway Wednesday 5th june and a dine in on Thursday 6th june. Both were beautifully prepared, and both beautiful to eat. The staff were superb, and the host was very accommodating answering any questions we put to him about his food. I had been to the restaurant about 4 years previously and was a good enough reason to visit next time I was in the area. I can't praise the Blue Naan any more highly. Tasty and innovative food. We were visiting Felixstowe for the weekend & found this restaurant nearby. Wow we're so glad we did. Friendly staff excellent service & wonderful food in lovely surroundings What a gem of a place. Excellent atmosphere and fantastic food. Chef Salim has created an amazing menu with bespoke recipes he has carefully crafted over the last 20 years. You can't get these dishes anywhere else. Just discovered that the Blue Naan is one of the top two curry restaurants in Suffolk!

This was our first visit and will be the first of many. We heard that they do not serve alcohol so have always given it a miss but now ive been there, wow! The most delicious food ever all presented in a modern attentive beautiful way. Some incredible fusion dishes that packed lots of flavour as well so thoroughly enjoyed everything. We had drinks before and after eating so the lack of booze didnt distract us from a good day out. Do not miss this restaurant.

We fancied a change from our usual Indian takeaway. The meal was very tasty and I would recommend but the onion bhajis weren't the best though.

I remembered the name of this Indian that I had eaten at probably 15 years ago. We had decided we wanted Indian whilst out. We arrived and found out this does not now serve alcohol. DO NOT let this stop you from eating here .This is probably the best Indian I have eaten in suffolk and I arrived here in 1990. I am so glad I found it. The wife had a blue cheese naan! OMG another game changer. Pleasant, helpful and diligent staff who ensure your experience is unforgettable. Johnnny introduced himself and again made sure everything was to our liking. First time at the Blue Naan for the eight of us that went, we all thought it was fab!! Definitely somewhere to visit if you love great Indian cuisine and first class hospitality.

Blue Naan. What can I say, other than, it's the best Indian restaurant for miles. The food is exquisite, the staff are amazing and the atmosphere is perfect. You are treated so well, everything is fresh and the portions are just right. They will tailor the ingredients to suit your pallet, not too spicy, or more heat if you want!! Definitely recommend going here and if you go Sunday through to Thursday, get the banquet option!

We had another huge meal for friends on New Year's day (~thirty people), and what a smashing meal it was for everyone. We had such a mixture of dishes and everything was correct, very tasty and piping hot. We will be back again very soon I am sure.

We went here after a recommendation from a local, we had not been before but visit Felixstowe a couple of times a year. I can not fault this restaurant. The restaurant is immaculate, everywhere you look it's clean. The service is exceptional - friendly, smiling faces that make sure you have everything you need. The food is delicious - really good quality food. We went for the Sunday Buffet served between 3.30pm-5.30pm and so what we had was such excellent good value for money at £13.95 each. I can totally see why they have so many five star reviews and we will definitely visit here again. (I wasn't planning on doing a review but being as we were so impressed I decided mid meal to do one hence the photo having been taken after our starters and after we'd put the food on our plates)

What a find! Our first time at the Blue Naan and we cant wait to come back. The food was the best Indian food we have ever had. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff are amazing but the food is on another level. I had the garlic king prawns followed by the coconut and mango chicken. Both perfect! Hubby had the shish kebab and chicken madras which were both fantastic! Thanks Johnny, we are looking forward to returning again and again. And again!

Extremely good food no complaints from any of us (4) had a mix of side dishes as well to share, the restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. Staff were really friendly and polite, pleased to explain any of the dishes. Only downside no alcohol allowed on the premises

Another fantastic meal at Blue Naan this evening. Everyone loved their meals. Full of deep flavours and delicious. Mocktails were superb. They dealt once again with our dietary requirements with much care and I could hear the same consideration being made to the tables around us. My partner had Honey Chilli Chicken, my eldest and her friend a selection of veggie side dishes and I was made a special dish due to my allergies. For the first time in many years I had a dish with Thai flavours which was stunning. Cannot rate the food and hospitality highly enough.

Absolutely amazing food and service! The dedication and effort put into the extensive vegan menu was incredible. There was a similar variety of dishes available on the vegan menu as the standard menu which is very rare and great to see. It also had clearly marked allergens for each dish. The food came in good time and the dishes were presented beautifully. The restaurant itself was luxurious and looked classy and elegant which had a positive impact on the experience. They do not serve alcohol however this is not a problem for me and there is a large selection of non-alcoholic drinks to choose from such as beer, mocktails and soft drinks. Highly recommend if you are vegetarian or vegan as the vegan menu will definitely not disappoint! There was so much variety and I want to try them all so will be returning soon!

My wife and i were in Felixstowe for an overnight AirBnB get away and decided the meal of choce was going to be an Indian. Blue Nann was recommended to us by the AirBnB owner. WOW is all i can say this is the poshest Indian restaurant we have ever been to. The owner should be very proud of his attention to detail from the interior design to the very nice menus and smart helpful staff, they even wipe the table for you after you have finished your poppadoms so your not eating around crumbs.The food was delicious and pipping hot and the presentation was again perfect with accute attention to detail. I should mention this premises is a non alcohol premises, to us this makes the experience all the more perfect but may affect others. The only negative i personally have is we live 2 hours from Felixstowe so we wont be able to revisit as often as we would like.

I am gluten free. I was very pleased with my food it was delicious. Very happy lady. 😄 As I often struggle to get food being gluten free. I ordered over the phone for a delivery the gentleman was very polite and friendly and helpful with my order. I had Onion Bhajee, Popodams and Mango Chutney, Chicken Tikka Masala and Vegetable Rice. We had a huge family and firends meal (24 people), folks came form all over the country (London, Edinburgh, Oxford etc). Everyone commented on what a super meal it was, the food was wonderful and the menu amazing - especially the VEGAN option set - truely astounding.

The Blue Naan is a fantastic restaurant, crisp deco, attentive service and fantastic food. We were a table of 6, all of the food was fresh, looked fantastic and absolutely delicious. The drinks were swiftly delivered and the mocktails very tasty. The staff were on point all night. If there were one small issue the tables for six are a little squeeze to get all the elbows and legs in, but this is a tiny point.

Stopped here on the way to the Spa Pavillion for a show. WOW WOW WOW what a place. From the minute you walk in the door to the time you leave excellent service and cannot, and I really mean cannot fault the food. First visit and by no way the last. Keep it up Guys we will be back

We had the Sunday special buffet, there is a good range of starters, main and sides to choose from, we were offered a mixed plate of starters, which saved us having to choose, service was very prompt, good choice of starters, we were offered more starters if we wanted. Good choice of mains, from mild to very hot. I ordered lamb Jalfrazie and chicken korma, both were delicious, hubby had chicken vindaloo, he likes it hot, rice was nicely cooked and naan bread was light and fluffy. We were offered extra dishes if we wanted. Great , friendly service from all the staff, nothing was too much trouble. We will be returning very soon.

Back here once again and as per usual the food never disappoints! We were yet again greeted with a very warm and friendly welcome by Johnny and his staff. The food and service was exceptional, we could not fault a thing ! Very family friendly. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, modern, and spotless. The menu is very innovative and diverse, with a huge range of fusion, traditional and vegan dishes. Not your typical local Indian restaurant. I wholeheartedly believe that the Blue Naan is easily one of the best Indian restaurants we have ever visited. I can not recommend this restaurant enough, and we will be back very soon!

One of the worst restaurent in my life and in uk i dont recommend at all, mainly for asians. I ordered punjabi samosa chat which was 8 pounds and they gave a plate and just plain samosa on it not at all worth it. Rest all foods quality was not nice and could smell the bad oil.

Food is very good. A varied menu with the inclusion of fusion dishes, as well as the usual classics. A very good selection of non alcoholic drinks. Friendly and professional service.

I was in Felixstowe town and thought I would try this place because I was craving some traditional food, and it didn’t disappoint! The food was delicious and full of flavour, in particular the king prawn puri and even something as simple as the samosa chat. All reasonably priced! The customer service was personalised and second to none, a family run place which made it even nicer with lovely ambiance. If you are in Felixstowe and looking for good food definitely give this place a try 👍.

As per normal the food the welcome and the overall experience was simply exceptional Johnny and his team are without doubt brilliant. As a real foodie ( Chef) my expectations are really high and they are met every time we visit . Johnny has made a decision to not sell alcohol but to by honest it all about the food 10/10

We have been to the Blue Naan many times and the food never disappoints. There is always a warm welcome from Johnny and his staff. There is great choice on the menu, and the service is first class. They have a no alcohol policy but to be honest that doesn’t matter because it’s the food you go for and that is fantastic. I recommend this restaurant and we will be back.

Back here once again, this time for the Sunday buffet. All of our favourites on the menu- smaller portions so you can order more. You just order what you want and everything is cooked to order and brought to the table. Starters of onion bhajis and aloo tikka-mains veg korma/veg jalfrezi/ chana massala/bombay potatoes/ plain and mushroom rice-peshwari naan. All the dishes piping hot and flavourful-and more than enough portion wise. Staff asked if we wanted anything else- but we declined although it was obviously not a problem if we wanted more. Excellent value-food as always top class- excellent service-Jonny came over to say hello and check all was ok-, this is a top class dining experience.

We continue to be impressed by everything about The Blue Naan. A visit here is a guarantee of the best and most innovative freshly cooked fusion food, with the best service. Owner Johnny is always thinking up delicious and adventurous new dishes, last weeks triumph being the Asian bolognese, served with keema noodles and a delicious minced lamb sauce. I challenge any Italian to make a better tasting version of this classic. Superb. Felixstowe, even Suffolk, count yourself so lucky to have the Blue Naan on your doorstep. Maybe leaving London to live in Felixstowe is the answer. Let’s see what I can do!

We had a fantastic vegan meal option that was delicious. Service was prompt; it was a rainy weekday evening, so the restaurant was quiet. Would definitely make a return visit!

We were in Felixstowe and we were recommended the Blue Naan for an evening meal. We phoned the restaurant at 21:15 hoping it wasn’t too late however we were told it would not be a problem as long as we ordered by 21:30 as they closed at 22:00. At no point during our meal were we made to feel hurried in fact the owner was very friendly and welcomed us. The food was stunning, beautifully cooked and rich with deep flavours. Both myself and my partner said we would now be traveling to Felixstowe every time we wanted an Indian meal. One word of caution through, this restaurant has a no alcohol policy which for me is not a problem as they offer an extensive range of non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails.

The menu choices are excellent, the food is of a consistently high standard and the staff are friendly and helpful. It was an extremely busy evening in the restaurant tonight but there was no drop in their high level of service, the food being delivered promptly and it was as delicious as ever. The decor is really tasteful and there’s no loud music blaring out. This restaurant definitely deserves a 5-star review!

We were staying in Felixstowe for the weekend and looking for somewhere to have a tasty meal before returning to our hotel. We arrived just after 6 pm so the restaurant was nice and quiet and the staff were very attentive. My husband managed to knock over his drink, breaking the glass and covering everything in mango and yoghurt, and the staff cleared away the mess and brought a replacement without any fuss (and no extra charge!). The Kingprawn puri starter was delicious, and the puri light and puffy. The two main courses were also a delight. Our only complaint was that we were so full up we had to leave some of the lovely food!

Friends visited on a ‘spur of the moment.’ Stuck for options, spotted the billboard and parking right outside in awful weather. What a treat! It’s been completely revamped since my last visit and completely alcohol free. Trendy, bright, clean, inviting. On arrival we were seated, shown the menu’s, placed drinks orders and settled on the banquet menu, not before convincing a couple perusing the menu outside to try the banquet too. Delicious dishes, great choice, tasty, hot, perfect portion sizes, friendly waiter, great customer service. Lovely to meet the owner, Johnny. Thank you for your conversation. Tasty food. A great evening catching up as friends. Love the no alcohol policy! Great background music. We shall be back.

Been here a few times now. I live in London but when I visit Felixstowe I make a point of coming here. Was looking forward to a nice Indian with a beer but unfortunately the owner has stopped selling alcohol but that did not bother me as the food is absolutely out of this world. Im a regular Indian cuisine lover and this is one of the best I've ever had.

Wonderful Indian meal. We had the delicious Mango and Coconut chicken curry and possibly the best peshwari naan ever. Recommended!

Fantastic food, wonderfully friendly and non-invasive service. The people who were leaving the restaurant just as we were about to come in actually paused to excitedly tell us it was “the best Indian”, so we had a hunch we’d made the right choice - and we had indeed. We had the coconut&mango chicken curry and the lamb rendang, and both were absolutely amazing. As for the peshwari naan, I think it was easily the best one I’ve ever had.

The food was brilliant and freshly cooked, tasty and well presented, and the staff was excellent, and I will highly recommend it.

Great food in a delightful modern setting . the menu offered a wide choice of Asian & Fusion dishes. Service was good but sometimes a little slow. how ever this did not detract from a very enjoyable dining experience.
