Blue Margarita Cocktails, Wine Bar & Tapas in Portsmouth

Great location and food ok. but awful service. Rudeness comes as part of the package however from staff who feel they’re doing you a favour

I’m so angry I booked a table for my nieces 11th birthday when we arrived the whole inside was empty and women were setting up a 50th birthday party around the whole restaurant which wasn’t the problem but if you had rented out the restaurant for a party then don’t let anyone reserve a table at this time. When arrived I said I had booked the table 3 weeks prior and still didn’t know where to put us and then just said well go there by the door during the hour we were there staff were looking at us to see if we were finished. I then spoke to a staff member and asked if the place had been rented out and he said it wasn’t and I said it felt like we were in the way as they were setting up the whole restaurant for this party this very short rude little man said “we’ll it’s not my problem if you feel embarrassed or odd sod” so rude no customer service at all and no care that we had just spent £150 in your restaurant it’s disgusting unless that rude little man owns it I would get rid of that disgusting little creature because he is embarrassing your business name. I will be putting a review about you everywhere I can because the amount of money I’ve paid and the service We got was disgusting. Plus for that man to speak to me in that way in-front of 4 11 and 10 year old girls is very concerning as when I phoned i was told this is a family establishment haha really!!!!!!

5 tapas, 2 mains, 3 soft drinks £97.05. 2 of the tapas were fine (bruschetta and meatballs) 2 were poor and were Iceland type shop bought, greasy and lacking flavour (mozzarella stick and crab claws) and 1 was completely inedible (calamari, soggy batter and chewy/ rubber band squid) Chicken and herb main, sauce very salty, Chicken skewers were fine. ALL with the identical side salad, absolutely no variance! The calamari was left in it's entirety and when asked by the waitress why our polite response of "not pleasant, soggy and chewy" was responded to by her raising an eyebrow and saying curtly "really" - no apology, no offer to replace or remove from the bill. Another black look from same waitress when we declined deserts. Not a venue we'd ever return to. Not freshly made Mediterranean food, way overpriced and unwelcoming staff.

Cannot fault the food but service was slow. We asked three times to order drinks, decided to ask for the bill and move elsewhere. Took ages to come for payment so we ended up walking to the bar to pay. Shame as I have been before, doubt I will return

Drinks were lovely and fun but expensive. Food was nice but very average, I could've made most of it in my own kitchen. Staff were nice but not super attentive (asking for sauces etc.) Overall, just fine

We chose this restaurant as it looked popular and it was chilly outside. We ordered the Duck and Chicken main dishes with a side of garlic bread and bottle of pinot grigio. It was disappointing to see no jugs of water are offered, however you can pay for still water on the menu. The duck had a very small drizzle of sauce which left the dish feeling rather dry. The chicken was tough to cut not succulent at all and the biggest disappointment was £5 for a small side of garlic bread made with utterly butterly/margarine which you could see the chef pour on after melting in the open kitchen microwave. We paid via card but then just before we got up to leave were approached again and asked to pay another card payment of £10 as it had been miscalculated, fortunately we had not left immediately after the first payment and finished off our drinks otherwise we would have already left. It was disappointing for our Sunday lunch experience.

fabulous experience food delicious staff very attentative and friendly .Very relaxing atmosphere and we will be going back again soon -loved it . Prices were very reasonable.

We had a road trip from London that day and ended up in Portsmouth. Found this place to eat and relax so we ordered the seafood platter which was massive but it was fantastic! The drinks were great and the staff was very friendly and kind. We sat outside and the view of the boat dock was making our lunch even more special.

We had a super evening at the Blue Margarita. The welcome from the owner and staff was so warm. I think the key is that unlike the other restaurants in Port Solent are chains, the Blue Margarita is privately owned. The restaurant is very comfortable. We elected to eat in as the evening was cool but on a warm day it would be lovely to sit outside. The food was delicious, incredibly tasty.

Awful burger with greasy deep fried chicken . Didn’t look appetising . Cheap coleslaw in a pot .. £12 for a large glass of Sauvignon . Overpriced for poor quality . Service was good but food awful . Wouldn’t go there again !!

Cocktails haben wir nicht probiert, doch die Auswahl ist sehr groß. Wir haben verschiedene Tapas und als Hauptgericht das Fischgericht bestellt. Alles war sehr lecker. Als Deutsche haben wir als Nachtisch die Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte bestellt. Optisch hatte sie nichts damit zu tun, es fehlten auch die Sauerkirschen und das Kirschwasser. Doch geschmacklich war es ein leckerer Schokoladenkuchen mit Buttercreme und kirschsauce Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und probieren dann die Cocktails.

Attended as part of a large party of over 30. Not only were food orders correct - but they were served altogether at the same time and were piping hot. Food was of a much better quality than I would normally expect for a large party with a set menu. Service was excellent, staff friendly and attentive!
