Blue Lagoon Fish & Chips (Renfield St) in Glasgow City

I recently Visited Glasgow and dropped by this restaurant. The fish was nice and crunchy, great batter. Great service, friendly staff. I am especially happy with the way the staff member Akshay greeted and Served us. Thank you Akshay for your excellent hospitality.

Great service, friendly staff. Went in to try the infamous pizza crunch (1/2 portion). Definitely had crunch, great batter and a 1/2 portion was more than enough. Slightly too bready for my liking. Needed more cheese/tomato to balance the ratio. But maybe that's the difference between a 11am brunch meal and 3am antics

We tried a deep fried mars bar (deliciously gooey) and some battered haggis (savoury and moreish). Nice experience all round.

Popped in for a quick bite before panto. Great service, lovely food. Couldn't believe the size of my dad's black pudding! He asked for a box to take half home! Will gladly return next time we are in Glasgow.

Great place for traditional food, very clean kitchen dining and restrooms. Staff were really friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the fish and chips.. also a new one for me was the deep fried Mars bar which was delicious.

Five stars all the way! The service, the food, well trained friendly staff and the overall experience were outstanding. When we arrived was too busy , at that time an incident happened Nina personally came to each table to comfort each and everyone, her customer service was top-notch, and which exceeded our expectations we will definitely be a repeat customer and will recommend them to everyone we know.

Fomos muito bem atendidos por Sonyia. Há um pão branco ou marrom como entrada, com manteiga, para abrir o apetite. A porção é generosa e, como sou glutão, alem de comer a minha porção, fui quase que obrigado (😃) a ajudar minha esposa a comer a porção dela. Não sobrou nada... Recomendamos.

Second visit this time to Renfield restaurant. My hubby and myself once again devoured the best Fish & chips & Chicken breast & chips. Lovely hot coffee. The staff are friendly and professional and go the extra mile to make our stay just perfect. Thank you we will be back. 😊

One of my two favourite Fish & Chip Shops (the other being Avanti in Partick), where the individual service is excellent which is enhanced with reasonable prices for the Supper's. . .🤗👌🏻👍🏻

We really enjoyed our visit to The Blue Lagoon. I booked as Friday nights can be busy. We all had special fish and chips with mushy peas and onions. Very Good. Service was excellent from all of the staff re booking and on the night. Nice relaxed atmosphere to chat and spend sometime with friends.

Bought fish and chips. What a dissapointment. Food lukewarm and greasy. Battered fish consisted of more breading than fish. Felt sick for the rest of the day.

We tried fish and chips, fried Mars bars, and a jar of mussels. The fish was good, loved the fried Mars bar but was disappointed with the jar of mussels which was in the sides section, but was a jar with pickled mussels that you would get in a supermarket. Service can be much better.

I visited this branch of Blue Lagoon yesterday and I was very satisfied with their service. I was served by Ayushi and I was really taken aback with the amount of patience she has despite the restaurant being super busy. I had the famous fish and chips and it was piping hot. Overall a 5/5 for me and will definitely revisit.

Dalle mie parti si dice che "fritto è buono tutto". In questo caso le chips erano mollicce e il fish non sapeva assolutamente di nulla. Peccato perchè è stata l'ultima sera a Glasgow e, come faccio sempre in GB, mi sarebbe piaciuto chiudere con un buon Fish&Chips.

Me and my friends visited Blue Lagoon and order special fish from the waiter named Akshay patil, he was well aware and sensible person and one the friendly waiters I have come across, he guided us through the menu and recommended the best to eat. Adorable décor - really fresh, new, clean with a nice menu with great variety. You can get breakfast, a burger or fish and chips. Service was very good and friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The breaded fish was a generous portion, but the chips could have been fried a little longer. The panko breaded calamari was fresh and light.

Great fish tea, excellent service and a nice atmosphere.

We had ordered a double cheeseburger and chips. The burgers were of good size and had good quality ingredients, although no real flavour, they were clearly not seasoned at all. The fries were undercooked and still soft and white, they were nearly to the point of being mushy. We had seen what other customers received and they got the same but weren't bothered by this so maybe this was good quality for Scotland, we're from NI and were used to a much higher quality than this.

First visit to this branch of blue lagoon. Had a great experience going and eating the special fish & chips suggested by one the staff members, Akshay! Overall a wonderful experience must visit!

The fish was on a diet, very slim and more batter than actual fish. Had to ask for napkins and again we got one tiny paper napkin each. Bread was OK, although meagre on the butter. Wasn't worth it guys 👎

In this restaurant - decorations are spectacular of a fishing boat, ropes, colourful lights making this a wonderful place to eat and relax. Fish was so fresh it flaked apart once cut. The breadcrumbs were crisp and delicious. Had chips, cheese and a lovely smooth curry sauce - absolutely delicious 😋. Staff were excellent - first class service!! I'm definitely coming back here next time I visit Glasgow 💚

This is thee best Fish and chip bar in Glasgow. Wee tried takeout last year and today we went to sit in and place is absolutely fantastic. Very clean. Staff very friendly. Service was lovely. We defo be back. Should open one up in Fife.

Such a gorgeous revamp of a Glasgow staple! Was looking around in city centre for ANYWHERE that did gluten free options for my sister who is visiting from Australia. It was her first time back in 10 years and she was craving some fish and chips. Wasn't disappointed and the decor is SO CUTE! THANK YOU YOU MADE OUR DAY 🥰 Service is outstanding 👏

グラスゴーのブキャナンストリート付近でフィッシュ&チップスを食べようと探してみたところブルーラグーンがヒット。この付近に4、5店舗あるらしい。 テイクアウトと店内での飲食両方に対応している。店内はテーブル席が6ヶ所程度で全体にブルーのインテリアで海に中をイメージしているらしい。 オーソドックスなフィッシュ&チップスは、フィッシュティーというメニューになり、これにはパンと紅茶かソフトドリンクがついてくる。写真は追加の豆の皿と緑の豆(mushy peas)の皿。いずれもsingleでオーダーした。 Breadcrumbs をオーダーするとパン粉をまぶしてフライにした魚が出てくる。 フィッシュもポテトもほとんど無味。淡い塩味で物足りない方はテーブルの塩かケチャップもしくは薄茶色の液体(これまた薄い味のソース何かは不明)で塩気を足して食べるらしい。 いわゆるファーストフード店なのでアルコールは無く、カジュアルなサービス。 このところの物価高もあるがこれで1人12.3ポンドは高い印象。そもそもこんな味なのだろうが、予想通りそう美味しいものでもない。なのでこの評価としたが、でも一度は食べなきゃ。というのも事実。

Absolute Con.. fish tea lunchtime special . No bread n butter and charged extra for drink... any other blue lagoon that comes with your tea.. chips I think we're Sunday's reheats .... very poor quality of food.. won't be back to that one.. Argyle St Far far better....

Walking by, I was initially put off by the decorations - not my style. But Google Maps said it’s good, so I gave it a shot. I can’t fully support the claim this is an (over) 4 star place, but it’s solid. Chips could have been in the fryer a few seconds longer, fish had a nice crispness, but at the thinner end a bit too much batter. Server was friendly and nice.

Loved it , beautiful decor delicious food attentive staff what more can u ask for the bathroom facilities are nice aswel very well kept , they have disabled toilet also, cleared our plates and bellies were full, defo worth a visit

First time in this new store. Know this company is owned by the Varese family, but no sign of any Italian staff. In at 9.30pm, shop very quiet and waited over 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. Meals were reasonable if a little cold. Disappointed that a restaurant would use plastic cups for tea with teabag in cup. In addition we found the place lacked heating and as we were both so cold we rushed our food and left. Won't be back.

Their fish and chips is fresh, albeit need more seasoning and salt to my taste. The star of the show is actually their calamari and onion ring. Perfectly cooked and big in size. The server also very nice and helpful. We came late at night, yet welcomed warmly. Thank you.

It is our second time we come ...Great fish and chips in Blue lagoon. The chips was perfect and the batter on the fried fish was not that much either and it was very crispy which is perfect. The staff Nina was amazing as same as the first time and what made us feel really good she remembered us very welcoming, ,she is making us feel special ,thanks to her and Blue Lagoon we had a really good time ,,she also offered tartar ,curry, Deep-fried Mars bar/Icecream which was amazing and etc . Did I mention I reordered the curry sauce and Deep-fried mars bar because were that good?!!! 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 The Tatar sauce was definitely the best I’ve tasted so far. 100/10 ! definitely going back

Nice fish and chips in town! The waitress, Nina was very welcoming. I ordered the lunch BL fish tea and the fish is well fried. The chips are a bit too oily.

If I could rate lower than 1 star I would. Mistakes do happen and I understand that. I’ve worked in customer service and kitchens before so I get it. But messing an order up so bad not once, not twice but three times is unbelievable. First two times we ordered two suppers and only ended up getting one. This time, we got two completely different meals, but with our ordered receipt? It’s beyond a joke at this point.

Takeaway fish supper with chips. The chips were cold. The fish not fried fresh and slightly soggy. Not even warm enough to melt cheese. An extra 1.5 for a sprinkle of anemic yellow cheese. Don't waste your time, money, or calories. Go elsewhere.

Popped in here pre concert with my friend. Wasn't sure what to expect we knew it was a fish n chip shop, however we both enjoyed the food but Nina was fantastic, she looked after us really well and very cheery and attentive. Credit to shop.

Used to go to Blue Lagoon in Argyle Street as a kid, was up for a family funeral as I now live in Wales and wanted to see if it was still as good. It was blooming fantastic. Great staff, great food. Brought back some great memories

The fish & chips tasted better than some famous shops in London. Decoration of the restaurant a bit old fashion but I think it is their tradition. The service has room to improve. The waiter mixed up our orders and forgot our coffee tea.
