Blue Ginger in City of London, Westminster

Blue ginger has been good in food and price and quality. However three out of 10 dishes we tried were awful: masala mogo, desi chicken and spicy veg hakka noodles. These three dishes were horrendous. When providing feedback the servers were extremely rude which was surprising as we have never experienced such behaviour before! They even forgot to bring one of the dishes ordered and had to remind them! Moreover when it came to payment the server took the bill and in anger crumpled it and went away, then I called the manager and or another senior server who said the max he can do is take masala mogo price off, when we said feedback was not about taking money off and I complained about the other servers behaviour he said he will pass the feedback. This was a horrible experience, horrible food, horrible service!!! Will not be going here! Avoid this place as average to poor food and abysmal service with disgusting service.

Probamos el menú oriental, la comida era estupenda. Buen servicio, comida caliente, amplia variedad en la carta de bebidas. Pedimos demasiado, las raciones eran enormes, pero no hubo problema para mezclar lo que no podíamos comer. ¡Almuerzo mañana ordenado!

Es un buen restaurante, puede estar muy concurrido. También sirve comida jainista. reservar con anticipación especialmente los fines de semana.

Primera visita. Muy acogedor Excelente comida perfectamente servida, muy caliente y muy bien presentada. Gran servicio. Definitivamente visitaría de nuevo

We ordered some delivery for the first time in years, this was once a great, value for money Chinese. The quality had dropped off so we didn’t order, sadly, things have gotten worse. We ordered chicken chow mein, which was tasteless and, in common with the Singapore noodles, had reheated chicken in it. The Singapore noodless were poorly made, half of them smothered in curry powder, the other half, none. Spring rolls tasteless, which was the same as the sweet and sour chicken. Worse still were the barbecue ribs, they too were tasteless but also, mostly fat, I spoke to them about it today and was told that the ribs were never mostly fat and the chewy ness was the result of “the way they cook Chinese food”. They offered to give me more of the self same tasteless ribs I had the day before, obviously I refused, other than that, there was nothing they would do. Poor for, poorly made, no flavour... no customer services...

The food was really too sweet to be edible. Utterly disappointed in food quality , wouldn't feed it to my enemy.

sad to say this will be the last time I order from here, the food has just got worse. most of it thrown in the bin, would like my money back preferably but won’t use this ever again!

I was somewhat disappointed with the meal. The duck and mushrooms should have been under the soup section, it was all gravy with a sprinkling of meat and mushroom. The beef in the ho-fan noodles was tough and chewy. It was obviously reheated pre-cooked beef. The pak-choi however was clean tasting and properly cooked. Overall the dishes are more expensive than similar dishes at other take away. I also find it odd that there are no pork dishes.

The food tasted great and fresh as well as arrived early. Definitely recommend!

Pancake roll was bland, Singapore rice didn't have much other side ingredients, house special noodles didn't have much meat, black bean sauce hofan was a bit sweet

We have been regular and loyal customers for a long time. The food we have been receiving has been going down in quality for a while. Tonight was the worst ever. Most of it was completely inedible, being either sour, due to bad hygiene, way overcooked or tasteless. We will NEVER order from here again. This was vile and most of it went in the bin. Disgusting doesn’t come close.

rice had black bits in it and tasted off, the sweet and sour had a metallic taste to it and not enough chicken bits. disappointed this time.

Absolutely disgusting!!! Chicken balls are a chicken burger cut up in to strips! Sauces were made more of water than anything else! The only thing edible were the chips! Genuinely the worst takeaway Iv ever had... I don’t leave reviews normally but I’m disgusted in this place!

Food was partly cold and the lamb spare ribs was made up of fat. Horrible. Wont be ordeing again unfortunately.

Worst chinese food I have ever tasted! Binned the lot and as a fan of chinese food I know a good and bad one. Stale, over cooked, water sauces and strange after taste. Really appalling and restaurant dismissed me when i called to complain and just said "yes yes really bad food well we dont give refunds". Luckily just eat refunded me. Will never order again.

We have had this problem before. Singapore noodles come quite dry and mostly just noodles and less of everything else. Also not spicey as it is suppose to be.

Good quality Chinese restaurant

Not chinese all food is not real chinese food its a copy and not made by chinese Very dull and bland waste of time and money i put it in the bin cost me £67 This is me trying to be nice$%^@#

Food was cold and bland. sweet and sour was watery the duck was dry waste of money.

The portions were too small. I've ordered from here before and never had this problem. The sweet ad sour chicken had 6 small prices of chicken and the rest was sauce and veg! The ribs also were just 4 and they appeared to be different than normal.

It’s been a while since we visited Blue Ginger. The kids ordered the honey sesame paneer but it didn’t go down too well, as it was very sweet. The haka noodles were a treat. We had the chili paneer which was lovely. The mogo was also quite good. Decided on starters only. Service was slow, but saying that the place was packed. I would recommend getting early as the parking is a nightmare, not many spots at all.

I ordered sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice x2, both sweet and sour chicken dishes was completely drowned in sauce, over portioned with vegetables and hardly any meat. Overall the food was far from great less than satisfactory, I was really disappointed and I will not be ordering from here again.

excellent service, unfortunately my partner had not left me with the right money to pay for the food and the delivery driver was very understanding and even dropped me to the closest cashpoint and back home again and the food managed to be fresh and piping hot even after the run about I will definitely reorder from here again the food was delicious and the customer service is outstanding

The lamb was so tough it was inedible. The chicken and prawns were drowning in sauce. The chow mein was the only dish that really was edible.

Im sorry to say but that was the worst chinise meal I have ever tried! the crab and sweetcorn soup had a weird taste an the crab was smelly, the prawn chow mein was awful! prawns SO dry and chewy an noodles all cut in small pieces an kinda mashed up! I will never order from this place again, it was the first an last time

Awful food. Ribs where just lumps of fat. And the chicken was tiny little pieces covered in tones of onions. Waste of money !

it’s most of it is just a few tiny pieces of chicken covered in tones of onions. a reap off ! ordered ribs and they turned out to be chunks of fat, ended straight in the bin. on the whole a waste of money. I would not recommend

Awful food. Avoid. So much salt in soup, inedible. Prawn ball inedible. tasted old. food cold. Refused refund. I am referring them to trading standards.

Prawns were really good. House rice and noodles were horrible. Wouldn't order again. But then again I haven't tried enough. I wouldn't recommend ultimately.

Delivery guy was so freaking RUDE!!! My flat doesn’t have a lift so he would need to go up a flight of stairs to reach me and he refused! I apologetically explained that I had just got back from the hospital after having major surgery performed and really couldn’t move around much (hence why I ordered delivery in the first place!) and he STILL made a huge fuss about it! Not only did he continue to demand why I couldn’t just suck it up and go down to meet him, but he also kept rudely questioning “what was wrong” with me. Unbelievable! Throw in the fact that upon meeting him, he ended up being a tall fit man, while I (a petite young woman), have no trouble going up the stairs on the regular; further proves that his excuse of “I don’t want to deliver if there is no lift” was completely based on laziness. The food was tasty but this awful experience alone makes me never want to order from them again!

The duck that arrived was totaly overcooked and really quite unacceptable and if at a restaurant would have been sent straight back. The Sui mai was lovely and the rice and beef dish were okay. food temperature was ok although portion size werent that big compared to other deliveries.

Not too bad. Although the Singapore Noodles and crispy chilli beef lacked flavour. Dumpling was probably the best out of the whole meal.

Food arrived on time but without any napkins, spoons, forks of chopsticks. One of my seafood container was half full with only 5 prawns and few vegetables. I called restaurant at 22:30 but they said the driver has finished his shifts and unable to deliver again, by the way restaurant does delivery until midnight. Poor food and customer service. Definitely will not order again.

Absolutely disgusting Food! Pre ordered it to be delivered at 530. It arrived at 6pm. Opened the pot of what is meant to be chicken balls, and it's like chopped up leftovers with under cooked better. Rotten! I expect some kind of refund of compensation!

The dumplings were inedible balls of processed meat. The rest of the meals was fine, similar issues with the quality of the meat and it being over cooked.

Really really bad! My expectations of a fast food takeaway are realistic, just don’t be horrible and get me through this hangover! Blue ginger has failed in a big way, sloppy, watery, greasy and bland! No wonder they give you 700 prawn crackers in a portion, there needed as you won’t finish your meal! Spend the extra tenner and order from somewhere else is my advice!

Visted with a friend last night and was very disappointed with the food. Having dined in a variety of Indian restaurants in north London, this is by far the worst food and flavours. I went home with an uneasy stomach. Its a shame as the restaurant has great decor. The car park is also a nightmare to get out of.

Food was delicious and early. Good value for money. They did forget my bottle of coke but driver was very friendly and offered either to go back and collect it or give me a refund for it, I took refund so he didn’t have to come all the way back. Got inside to dish out the food to find I had no prawn crackers :( didn’t ring restaurant as rest of food was incredible so can let them off with the prawn crackers. Next time I’m visiting this part of London I will deff order again.

Wasn’t a fan of the Chicken in Szechuan sauce but everything else was okay.

Special rice and prawn toast was really good. Crispy chili beef however was soggy and chewy. The sauce was insipid and tasteless. However given the other dishes were good I'll try again. Maybe a one-off fail with the beef.

Not really tasty food, crispy duck was burnt. Fried rice not fried and soggy. Delivery was on time but driver didn't follow instruction on the delivery note. Would not recommend the place

Had ordered from here once before and food quality was good. However this order was awful! (1) The roast pork Cantonese style was seven DRY slivers of Pork (clearly cooked days ago) of dumped on top of soggy soy bean. nothing else. (2) The chilli shredded beef which is supposed to be hot, was missing chilli, drowned in a watered down sauce, and the beef...well near impossible to find any. (3) For an order of almost £30 not to even a complimentary rice cracker is unacceptable. Definitely will not return! Very disappointed as I thought I had found a good Chinese take-out. STAY CLEAR!!!!

3 pieces of meat in the dishes, satay was the worse satay ever. My parents said it is officially the worse food they have ever eaten.

Great delivery time. Great condition and the food was prepared and well made. Only issue is what happened when the food arrived. I've already paid by card but the delivery man told me that the restaurant asked for cash. Overall a good place and I will order again.

Food was very bad. Ordered three different things and they came looking exactly the same. The beef course barely had any beef. Also for some reason they tasted really sweet, like a can of sugar fell onto the pan. Ended up throwing them away. VERY DISAPPOINTED! Worst take out in my life! Ever! You’d better off just throw your money to the bin, at least that aftertaste from the food wouldn’t linger hours after you ate.

Beef with spring onion and ginger was more like onion with beef. There were maybe 3 pieces of beef in a soup of onion. If your business can't afford beef, then remove it from your menu or increase your prices!

Overall I would say this meal was a massive disappointment, ordered the set meal for one. Wasn't too happy with the spring roll filling, and there were no vegetables in the curry at all, just batter with tiny pieces of chicken. Disappointed.

V. Poor quality. Fried dishes too oily. Meat dishes v poor quality. V cheap ingredients. Sadly disappointing.
