Particular and evocative place on the banks of the Thames, a stone's throw from Hammersmith Bridge. We were welcomed by young, dynamic, very friendly staff who were attentive to customers' wishes. Really excellent.

Excellent venue for a 60th. Very approachable, flexible and organised duty managers (Craig, Alfie; Natalie in Comms) which made planning both easy and precisely as I'd wanted, with scope to personalise the venue. Food and furniture positioned as requested. Staffing on the night was highly efficient and friendly (Nana, Will). Very popular platters (fish and chips; beef sliders; smoked salmon sarnies), especially pastel de nata. Reasonably priced selection of wine and/or drinks packages. Excellent Żubrówka vodka. A slick and enjoyable business transaction.

Historically awesome pub but not sure I'm a fan anymore. Could just be London prices but £14.80 for two lager shandies feels a little steep. Bar staff were fine, although I got the impression their conversation about how big their hands are, was more important than taking my order. That being said, it's a beautiful location and usually has a good atmosphere. Food is often pretty good although I didn't have any this time.

We had Sunday roast last week. Meal was disappointing to say the least. I had tiny portion of pork belly which was tough. Cauliflower cheese barely had any cheese, mainly flour and milk. There was barely there vegetable consisting of a tiny carrots and two sprouts of broccoli. There was no crispness to the potatoes and were still hard. Overall pretty diabolical meal. My partner had roast chicken and did not fare any better. Maybe Blue Anchor is relying simply on the location and view of the river to pull in customers. I definitely won't be a repeat customer.

Their Sunday roast is PHENOMENAL!!! I can’t praise this place enough - the food was yummy, the service was FANTASTIC, and the price was amazing! Wojtek and Monika served us, and they were extremely friendly, efficient and catered to all our requests (I’m currently pregnant, so am quite picky with what I eat). Wojtek was also extremely helpful with the food recommendations, and his overall energy is amazing! They also seated us indoors (upstairs), in such a cosy seating area - I’ve seen this pub a lot from the outside, but never realised how massive it was on the inside. I’m definitely coming back here!!!

Three day old roast potatoes, roast beef like an old boot, wait staff who don’t care, couldn’t cut the broccoli with a knife, but a nice setting. Replying to the reply - we would have provided this feedback if asked, but the waiter before didn’t at any point during the meal, even when presenting the bill, ask how the meal was. Standing at bar and they rang last bell as we were waiting to order.. Response: Hi Blue Anchor Team, Thank you for getting back to me. I understand your company policy, but I wanted to share a different viewpoint. In most pubs I've visited, it's customary to allow customers the chance to order when the last call bell rings. This ensures everyone has a fair opportunity to enjoy their evening until closing time. Being flexible with last orders is appreciated by patrons and contributes to a more welcoming atmosphere. Many pubs I've been to extend the last order window, even after the bell, especially if they've been serving drinks in plastic to-go cups most of the evening. Considering this, I suggest reconsidering your approach to last orders to better match industry standards and improve customer satisfaction. This simple adjustment could make a positive difference and enhance your pub's reputation. Thank you for taking this into account. Best regards ;)

My recent trip to the Blue Anchor was okay, but there were a couple of things that didn't sit right with me, especially their last call policy. My friends and I were waiting to place our orders, but the staff seemed incredibly slow that night. We'd been standing at the bar for a good five minutes before the last call bell rang, and instead of trying to take our order, they went ahead and rang it. Another thing that bugged me was that they were serving drinks in plastic cups for most of the night even when glasses were clearly availble. If they're going for that vibe, it wouldn't hurt to be a bit more flexible with the last order window. Overall, the pub was just average. The staff were friendly enough, but the atmosphere was nothing to write home about. If you're looking for a better pub experience, there are plenty of other options nearby with more relaxed policies and a cozier vibe.

Ordered food and drinks at the bar. Waited 45 minutes and our food has still not arrived (chips and pork belly bites) went to say something and they said “our system said table 5 we searched for your forever”, which is odd considering we were seated at the inside bar literally right next to where we ordered and told the server this when the order was placed. The management was very nice about the mistake, however when our chips arrive they were cold with cold Parmesan cheese (you’d think after waiting 45 minutes they would make sure we had fresh chips) pork belly bites are very small and just fat. Would not recommend, which is sad because it has a nice view and management seems kind. Maybe better bar staff or table system would help?

Quality of the food was great and portions were just right . Great selection of beers on tap:I reccomend their own lager, ( blue anchor). We did not had dessert as we were already full. Only one 'negative' thing was the espresso we ordered, which was more an americano (we are Italians so we have quite an obsession for good espresso).a part for this minor thing everything was perfect. Granted the location is great on the river by Hammersmith Bridge, but there’s a lot to be done on the venue side. The bar service was unbelievably slow. It took two members of staff about 15 minutes to serve three customers. The situation was completely ludicrous as one of the staff laboriously made two hot drinks. The division of labour here leaves much to be desired. It would be nice if when having a long wait you got an acknowledgment or an apology. No such luck here. Once a round of two pints (one of which was an ale) came to £14.15 it was the final insult. They need to up their game here and be more sensible with their prices.

A true gem in the heart of Hammersmith, the Blue Anchor is a welcoming haven that perfectly captures the essence of an English pub. From the moment you step through the door, you're enveloped by a warm and inviting atmosphere, with traditional décor, exposed brick walls, and a friendly buzz that instantly puts you at ease. Our visit was a prime example of the pub's exceptional service. Despite our oversight in not confirming our reservation, the staff handled our situation with grace and professionalism, finding a table for us within minutes due to a last-minute cancellation. The Blue Anchor's menu is a testament to its status as a classic gastropub. We indulged in their signature dishes, starting with the braised beef with bourguignon sauce, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender and infused with rich, savory flavors. The cheese mash potatoes served alongside were a delightful accompaniment, adding a creamy indulgence that perfectly complemented the beef. My girlfriend opted for the classic roast dinner turkey, which was a towering spectacle of culinary delight. The turkey was cooked to perfection, juicy and succulent, while the cranberry sauce brought a burst of tangy sweetness that balanced the earthy flavors of the roast potatoes and carrots. As we savored our meals, we couldn't help but admire the pub's enviable location right on the banks of the River Thames. The ambiance was enhanced by the gentle lapping of the water against the riverbank, creating a tranquil backdrop to our dining experience. The Blue Anchor is a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of traditional English hospitality and cuisine. With its warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and exceptional food, the Blue Anchor is a true gem that will leave you wanting more.

Sai was an amazing bar tender. You didn’t have the beer we wanted but gave an amazing explanation of the beers you had on tap and fantastic service.

Adam provided excellent service despite our late arrival, accommodating us for dinner. The meal was great, we went for the fish and chips and turkey. The portion sizes were generous, and the pub had a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

I made a reservation as soon as it opened. Since it was a bad day, we were assigned a cozy table near the fireplace. One of my family members was not feeling well and I am grateful to the server for being considerate of her. The French fries at Fish & Chips were delicious and the side dishes were also delicious. The roast chicken was tender and delicious served with mushrooms, vegetables, and beans. Americano and cappuccino are the best coffees I had in London. Desserts are also great. The exquisite combination of orange sherbet and chocolate is fantastic. It was the last meal of our 10 day trip to London and it was so good! Oh and Mounika was so friendly. They treated us wonderfully and made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks again for her kind smile!

I always try and pop into the Havelock whilst I'm in London. It's a great place to catch up with friends, a fine selection of beers and really good food. Add to that, the friendly staff and good atmosphere, there's not much that can go wrong. I thoroughly recommend.

The Colton Arms is currently boarded up and PERMANENTLY CLOSED and in administration. A Design My Night Reviewer reports from 21st March he visited and was told his booking had been cancelled so business knew it was in difficulties back then .

The wait staff wasn't welcoming at all. Our kids were not having it so we ordered our food to go. I don't think the entire time we were there that either waitress cracked a smile. Was recommended via the hotel were staying at with 20% off when I got the bill they said the pizzas weren't included because they were already a promotion. The discount for 20% off the hotel has printed doesn't say anything indicating that not does not include the pizze nor does the menu advertise that it's a promotion. Also she somehow thought I said marinated olives instead of hummus for our starter? She got it fixed but it's not like she was apologetic- actually I apologized for her misunderstanding? Idk the food was actually really good but the service blows.

This restaurant in Hammersmith is more expensive than it's branch in North Harrow with some dishes being almost double in price. Service is slow and not very friendly and my masala dosa had potato filling that smelt and tasted off. They could make it better by at least being welcoming and serving with a smile.
