Visited today for a treat of coffee and cake and it was the most terrible quality. The cakes were overly sweet and sickly rather than pleasant and I asked for coffee with a syrup which ended up being half a cup of syrup making it impossible to drink. Spoon supplied with the coffee was also not clean and when I went to buy water to replace the coffee the glass I was supplied was disgusting as if it had never been washed so I drank out of the bottle. For what we received it was overpriced and not like it used to be, we understand that cakes should be sweet but his was sugar overload leaving us feeling rather unwell. Won’t be back again and wished I had driven 5 minutes further to get better quality and service from Starbucks based in the hospital grounds.

Introduced my friend to this establishment. We were not disappointed. On the hot counter there was an impressive array of food choices but we opted for toasties and lentil and vegetable soup, I chose cheese and onion for my filling and coleslaw on the side. To follow we shared carrot cake washed down with diet irn bru. Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definetely come back.

Was visiting with friends bank holiday Monday and my experience was dreadful! Thankfully I did not have my children with me - the foul language used by the chef in the kitchen was disgusting. Potty mouthed and utterly shameful, I have watched Gordon Ramsay programs and she would give him a run for his money. The place was very busy which I understand on days like today but absolutely no excuse for what we witnessed on that day. Service from the lady’s in front of house was much more pleasant. Impressive home baking and a good hot coffee. Managed a table (luckily) after being throughly cleaned by a fine young man. I would return with anticipation given what we heard.

Chaotic, rude and poor service - something has changed. Arrived around 1045 for breakfast and discovered there was no bacon. Massive que that didn't seemed to move and oblivious tension between staff. Orders place and number issued. After a 20 minute wait still no order. Seemed we had been forgotten. Approached desk to be told take a seat. They shouted back what's your order again.... Sorry we are busy the excuse. As a regular it was quiet. Something has changed. Think we will be changing where we have breakfast in future. Visit with caution

The food was so disappointing. We ordered a baked potato with prawn Marie rose. The potato was undercooked. We also had the Cajun chicken burger, which wasn’t actually a burger - it was a full chicken breast that I think had been deep fried, even the outside of the brioche bun was greasy. Another member of our party had the macaron cheese which they couldn’t fault. Tables hasn’t been cleared so we had to clear one ourselves to be able to sit down and eat. Normally we would have complained about the food but we were visiting someone in the hospital close by and had to get back to them quickly.

Very disappointing visit for lunch as although the cafe itself was big and very clean and reasonably comfortable the menu was boring and the sandwiches which we had were nothing short of purely monotonious, made and served with nothing except the chosen filling on boring bread, no salad or crisps eg added to the plate or into the sandwich itself. Smacked of easy, use chicken and add it into whatever sauce the customer has chosen and slap it on brown or white bread. The soup we had was really nice and I would give them full marks for this but alas would not return I am sorry to say and we had made a special trip from Fife to visit the garden centre

We visited Blossom restaurant in the Torwood garden centre recently just as they were preparing for close down. My father is diabetic and his blood sugar level had dropped quickly so we needed to get him something to eat. Jackie went out of her way to make him a sandwich. In fact she made sandwiches for the three of us despite the kitchen being closed. All the staff in this restaurant were friendly and empathetic. The service was fantastic and a credit to the garden centre. Many thanks ❤️

We visited at 1.00 p.m. when the restaurant was very busy. There were lots of staff on duty all of whom were pleasant and courteous. We were served quickly and our table was cleared and cleaned before we sat down. Our meals were brought to our table in less than 10 minutes. We had Cajun chicken wrap and baked potato with chicken mayonnaise. Both were very tasty and enjoyable. The restaurant is bright, modern and very clean. The toilets were modern and spotlessly clean, quite remarkable given the probable number of customers using them today. A very good experience and a visit is highly recommended.

Positives: The service was great, really quick despite being fairly busy and the staff seemed friendly. Nice large room, spaced out really well so it’s not overwhelmingly noisy. Carrot cake was tasty. Good selection of cakes and coffees Negatives: pretty expensive, I got a cajun wrap that was either 7 or 8 and didn’t even come with chips or crisps. Had a wee side salad and sloppy coleslaw. The wrap itself was pretty tasteless and very sloppy as well. Would come back for coffee and cake but probably not for lunch

The wife and I had a booking here to use up gift vouchers for afternoon tea. We were immediately taken to our table for our covid experience. Track and trace forms were put down for us to complete. Then a waitress came and took our order. The wife is gluten free but was able to make choices from what was available. Shortly afterwards our food arrived. I had tuna with cucumber, egg mayonnaise, and ham and tomato along with mini iced cakes a fresh cream choux pastry bun and a scone with jam and butter, The wife had egg mayonnaise included in her choice with gluten free bread and what looked like gluten free carrot cake. The wife had coffee and I opted for sugar free irn bru which was perfectly chilled. The wife finished off with a sugar free irn bru which counted as a refill so we were not charged. We were delighted with the food and service more so the fact we did not have to pay any extra above our vouchers. We would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definitely return.

We weren't in a major rush, but after fifteen minutes wait, and not being able to get either of the girls attention we left as did the couple who had arrived before us.We have been coming to Blossons for years, and really hope that some kind of organisation can sort things out. We’ve had a number of lunches and snacks here and so far we’ve had lovely, well priced food and drink. It would be even better if there were an ‘official’ procedure for cold meal buyers to pass those waiting on hot food ( saving an embarrassing dodge-by ) but that happens elsewhere so it hasn’t stopped us returning so far. My husband and I went to have breakfast after I just had my scan. As I have been fasting since the night before, I was starving and just its nearer to the FVRH. We ordered all-day breakfast which is consisting of 5 items of your choosing and toast. separate payment for the tea, and if you want extra on your plate you have to pay more. The order came into our table, and there is only 2 loaves/slice of toast. What! So we ask for another one and they told us if we want to have another two loaves of bread we have to pay for £1. It's just so disappointing and it has not been made clear to people that it is only 1 loaf of bread on all-day breakfast. They didn't even apologize to us. Another issue is that they have taken all away all the cruet set on each table, and replaced it with a sachet of condiment with their supplier's name on it. For me, this bistro & coffee shop is turning into a corporate mentality.

We booked to have picnic tea for two, and on arriving we were greeted by Janet, who was pleasant and looked after us. Once we paid for our food, Janet showed us to our table and took our order for tea and coffee, and asked what flavour milkshake we wanted. She explained that as the food was cooked fresh we may have a small wait, we were not worried as we had plenty of time. The food was served on a small picnic table as you can see from the photos there was plenty of good food there. I have to say that both my partner and myself both enjoyed our meal this afternoon. We were too full to eat our cakes, so Janet put them in a box for us to take home, she also asked if we wanted another tea and coffee or a cool drink. We opted for the cool drink. We really enjoyed our afternoon tea and would recommend coming here, the staff are friendly and happy.

I booked a picnic tea for two today and can say we were not disappointed! As soon as we walked into the cafe we were shown to our table and our drinks order was taken. A short time later the assistant manager and Janet who was the lovely supervisor brought the meal over to the table and all we could say was ‘wow’! We already had been given tea and coffee, and now we had two banana milkshakes, two freshly prepared mini beef burgers, two mini pizzas, two mini quiches, bucket of wedges, salad, coleslaw, mayonnaise and relish. We also had 6 individual mini cakes . Unfortunately we had no room for the cakes but this was not a problem as they were placed into a box for us to take home. We also had a further drink prior to leaving. Have visited Blossoms on many occasions and been quite satisfied with their offerings.. Unfortunately on our most recent visit standards have fallen... On being served we watched our food being plated, then stood waiting as the server loud mouthedly chatted with someone further back in the que, whilst still holding our plates. Once seated found there was no usual compliment of salt, pepper & condiments. Only a small container with sugar sachets. On asking one of the passing staff, he pointed out salt & pepper is also in tiny sachets somewhere amid the sugar. They used to have proper cruet, but not this. There was only 1 salt in the container and no pepper, so had to pinch one off a nearby table. Another customer had to ask a server if he could have some brown sauce... Why do we now have to chase after the most basic requirement. Is this some daft money saving exercise, or lets have a tidy table modern approach?? To top all the chips served were bland and slightly under cooked, no doubt low on cholesterol, but also flavour. It's a case of the little things count but on this visit were omitted.

I visited this cafe today and was delighted to find that they have a separate dog friendly cafe. I ordered a latte, the guy that served me was very pleasant, however, the Latte was awful. The guy that served me had gone and another member of staff had entered the area. I explained to her that I thought that my latte hadn’t been made properly so she made me another. The second one was just as awful, more like a watery black coffee, not milky at all so I had to leave it. It was too burnt tasting to drink. I told the woman that it was no better and it wasn’t fit for drinking so I’d have to leave it. I was NOT offered a refund and left the cafe £2.45 worse off and with a bitter horrible taste in my mouth. Very disappointing as the main cafe serves lattes and they have never been horrible like this. This is a poor 2nd rate cafe for people with dogs...not worth the visit unless they are going to serve the same drinks as the main cafe. I won’t be back unless I hear this has happened. Great idea to be pet friendly like Dobbies, it’s just a shame it lacks quality.

The cafe itself looks lovely - if only the treatment customers received from the staff was the same. The food is simple, soup, toasties, sandwiches and a few hot meals. As there isn’t a menu showing what fillings are “allowed” on a toastie or panini (I just looked at the baked potato fillings shown on a board) and asked for a chicken mayo panini - wow! I wish I had never bothered. The woman who was serving looked at me like I had 2 heads. Then told me that they wouldn’t do that. I responded saying that i’ve had it in many places before - she then continued to look at me like I was nuts and tell me that the mayo splits so I shouldn’t have that. By this point the queue behind me was growing - she then offered to ask in the kitchen (meaning she was going to shout to the kitchen staff who then shouted over to me that they wouldn’t do this due to the mess it makes on the machine - fair enough, that’s all she had to say). But this delightful woman didn’t leave it there - she then told me again that I wasn’t to “cook” mayo (it’s 1 minute on a machine, it’s hardly going to cook. You put mayo in curry and people don’t bat an eye...), that she has worked in this industry for 30 years and you don’t do that, but I could have tuna mayo if I wanted!! Oh and if I wanted a chicken panini and a cold pot of mayo to dip that would be ok - and she look at me like I was nuts?!?! I then went to pick a cake for my 3 year old then went back to pay and heard her talking about me!! To people in the kitchen and in front of other customers and myself! Absolutely shocking! The only person there who actually seemed to have any degree of sense was Jamie from the kitchen. I actually had to call my cousin after this event and check that I wasn’t the only crazy person asking for chicken mayo on a panini! I can send in many pictures of menus from other cafe’s showing it on the menu if this helps with this woman’s retraining?

Since the cafe has been re-designed, it is much better. Slight mix up meant I received a baked potato, but the server immediately took it back apologising for the error, returning straight away to update me. Minutes later I got my delicious toastie and my friends enjoyed their baked potatoes. The server was so caring and when I went to get a knife and fork as my toastie was so hot, she insisted on getting these for me and bringing them to the table. Great place, great food and great service. Would highly recommend.

We were staying in the Premier Inn just round the courier for a couple of days. On both mornings, we had breakfast at this coffee shop. Five items for £3.95 All very nice and the place is immaculate. Well worth a visit.

Not been here for literally years. Had been at the hospital visiting and decided to pop in for a gift . I am glad we decided to have the breakfast too !! It was fabulous, freshly made with eggs made to your liking and a fabulous choice and price . The pot of tea was tasty unlike some of the places it tasted of tea !! No cheap tea bags used here. Although it was breakfast time we had to have a cake as well... they just jumped off the display and onto our tray - something else that was fresh and very very tasty. Set me up for the rest of the week never mind the day !!

This would be 5 stars, but I see a theme with another review. The place has been overhauled and it's 100% for the better.

I booked a table for 13 family and friends for my Mum's 88th Birthday as we had got her out of hospital for the day for a surprise lunch. The Manager of the Tearoom, Lyndsey greeted us on arrival and gave my Mum a cuddle and a card to us both as we share the same birthday. We were advised we would need to go to the counter separately, however I took all the orders and the staff advised that although they were busy, they would do their best to bring our order to the table. This was done with efficiency and the food was fresh and hot and everyone got served at the same time. All staff made a fuss of my Mum and teas and coffees were also brought to the table after I handed our list to staff. When it was time for the cake, nearly all staff gathered round our table singing to my Mum. The service and attitude of the staff was excellent. Special mention to the Chef, who provided the excellent food, and even took the time to give the birthday girl a wave on our departure.

First time I've been here in years, it was fantastic! We opted for a light lunch - my toastie was incredible, fresh and with a lovely side salad. Mum had mac and cheese - says it's one of the best she's had. Staff were so helpful, patient, friendly and welcoming - no one turfing you out or bothering you if you've finished eating. Will definitely return - there's soup to try next!

I use this Bistro for a variety of eating; coffee and cake with friends, lunch with elderly relatives and a great place to stop for a bowl of soup when shopping. It also does some half portion meals which is excellent for the smaller apetite. Recently had visitors from Kent staying at Premier Inn and we took them there for breakfast each morning. The service from Nicky and Janet was second to none. Food was fresh, eggs cooked as you like them and the friendly banter set us up for the day. Nicky could remember who liked what and Janet served our meal at our table. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and great value.

After visiting Blossoms Bistro & Coffee Shop today for our lunch and spending nearly £30.00 I asked if I can have an extra piece of butter for the small bread roll that you get with your soup and as told you only get 1 piece of butter per roll, You can have another butter if you pay another 10 pence ,considering I just gave them nearly £30.00 for our lunch. Then they came and checked to see if we only had 2 soups. Considering you can get a quarter pound of butter for less than £2.00 think this was a bit mean.

Very disappointed in the service and the dispparring comments from the staff about me to one another I had asked for soup and then moved on to pay I asked the lady in the queue if she was waiting for tea,she said she bit allowed me to move in to queue to pay the Irish Woman Behring the counter shouted to me ‘it’s one queue ‘ I tried to explain and again she shouted ‘it’s one queue’ and then commented to the other lady on how there would be complaints about this and how so very right she was......I have visited this place for a long number of years and never felt so humiliated in all my life as everyone including the serving staff were looking at me I work in the Catering Industry and have never spoken to anyone like that in my almost 40 years service to top this all my friend went up for cakes the same thing happened to her and she too was told by the same Staff Member ‘ it’s one queue!!!!!

Dropped in for lunch to this busy Restaurant we took the superb Steak Pie and Chips beautiful flavour The staff were coping well with the influx of customers at 12.30 . With no hiccups and a steady flow at the till . The dining area is spotlessly clean and staff are clearing tables as fast as they empty ,always a good sign for a well run establishment

Been here a few times now, as garden centres go it's worth a visit, on the downside they could display their goods for sale a bit more neater, and tidier but other than that it's worth coming too, it also has cafe for a refreshments whilst your browsing it's horticultural wares.

Came here after a visit to Zoolab and had late lunch, tea and cakes. Plenty to choose from, hot, cold, sweet and savoury all in different portion sizes too. Impressed by selection for children too. Lovely staff and nice atmosphere....actually...preferred it to another well known garden centre! Will definitely be back.

We use Blossoms within Torwood Garden Centre as the "Go to place" for eating whilst in the Larbert area. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating to your needs.. the breakfasts are excellent value - five cooked items plus toast for £3.99. With a pot of tea two persons can have a substantial breakfast for under £10.00.

Dad & I the early risers in the family popped in here for a sneaky breakfast. It's a lovely big bustling bright & airy food hall type of place. It has a small carpark and good disabled access including toilets. The food is set out in a carvery style with a server who plates your food, you pick the amount of items you want and tell the sever your choices but be warned one slice of bacon is one item I thought that was very stingy I was fully expecting 2 slices to be the acceptable quota, thankfully you weren't limited to a mushroom. So off we went with our plates and ordered a coffee, then paid, then sat down (why don't they make you pay first, by the time you queue for your tea then queue to pay, your breaky is all the while getting colder, stupid system). When we finally sat down our food was lovely, well cooked & fresh although no longer hot, I did enjoy it, I would eat there again if I happened to be at the garden centre but I would intentionally go there for the sole purpose of getting food.

After visiting a relative in the nearby hospital, I stopped off for afternoon tea and some fabulous home baking.! After sitting and catching up with a friend it was time to go back to Edinburgh.. It was then disaster struck!..I could not find my car key..I was so sure that it was in my hand-bag. I frantically searched within ...it wasn't there. I went through my pockets and all around where I had been sitting..to no avail!I re-traced my steps ..everywhere.I then alerted staff regarding my predicament..No key had been handed in..it was also closing time.! The staff were wonderful.they reassured me ..that they were not in any hurry. The check-out ladies assisted in turning out my handbag in a logical manner!; as did Kenny ...? manager still ...no key. . A full search ensued, all floors within the centre and bistro, counter, tables and even cutlery container's were searched!Eventually the key was located (after 3rd check) in the loo under the cistern where I had been earlier...it must have fallen from my opened handbag! What can I say but a wonderful thank you to everyone!AW ...Edinburgh

We booked for sunday lunch recently. You dont really need to book as you can mainly just walk in and get a table except at the busiest times but we had one of their cards that gives 10% off if you book so we did! The carvery was our choice and I have to say it was a really lovely meal. Choice of steak pie, vegetable pie, roast beef, roast ham or chicken breast with ample supplies of roast and boiled potatoes, cauliflower cheese and a host of other veg all helped down by a tasty gravy ( with a veggie option) and a couple of tasty yorkshire puddings. Well satisfied, we were glad we hadnt had a starter although we had been tempted! The staff were so friendly and helpful and couldnt do enough for you. The surroundings have been refurbished and are pleasant and comfortable and the tables are far enough apart that you are not in everyone elses conversation. This was our first visit to Harveys but it wont be the last. Good honest tasty food, great service and very resonable prices. You should try it, they deserve to succeed in business.

Waiting for meals for over 30 minutes. Other tables served. Meal obviously warmed up, hot outside, cold inside. Returned meal, refund issued, did not require any replacement meal. Soft drinks ordered and arrived just before we left. Issues with time waiting on bill

This chef can cook! Restaurant can be very warm if the sun is shine and can be blinding if you sit in the wrong position. I tried the chicken terrine was was ok but not the best. The steak and haggis pie is to die for as are the chef’s soups of the day. Breakfast in the main was fine however bacon too salty and had better potato scones but the best poached eggs ever. The food in this restaurant is the highlight of the hotel and would recommend eating there if your staying or passing.

Ate here for 4 nights whilst away with work. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Food was good, some dishes better than others, I had the lamb shoulder, beef burger, steak and a sea food linguine. The steak was ok but really overpriced and served on a Wetherspoons style plate, one sorry looking mushroom and tomato served up with it! The Burger was tasty if a little underdone (no issue for me but maybe check people are ok with served pink!) The lamb was amazing. Seafood linguine wasn’t to my taste. Deserts had plenty of choice but only the sticky toffee did it for me, the rest were mediocre and seemed defrosted. Again expensive for what they are. Atmosphere was ok each night, didn’t spend long in there. I wouldn’t say it’s got a lot of charisma about it though! 4/5 all in as the staff where great!
