Just been in the block for our evening meal, and Darren’s attention too customer service was amazing, give that lad a pat on the back or a pay rise 🤣 Food and atmosphere was great as always 👍🏻

Stayed overnight in the carpark in our motorhome. Flat and large enough carpark, right next to a field that you can access from the carpark so perfect for our dog. Food was reasonable, chain type choice. My husband's chicken kebab was nice and plenty of it. My steak was cooked well, didn't come with mushrooms, when I asked I was told they'd ran out! Would have been better to be told that, to be offered more onion rings or chips?? Service was quick but nothing extra... good for a one night stopover though.

Nice pub, quiet on the day we visited but friendly and good service, good place to watch sport, loads of big screen TVs.

Went for a combined mother's day and birthday meal the other week and I'm so sorry but the quality of food was awful, the meat tasted like a boil in the bag roast beef and the vegetables and roast potatoes were clearly frozen and the Yorkshires were burnt, this was such a let down when you have to pay an extra £1 a Yorkshire and around £2 extra for roasties, you'd expect quality, we were practically the only family there and I did think it was strange as it was mother's day, I expected it to be busy but this explains it. Our drinks never even came to the table and we had finished what we could eat of the food before just leaving after waiting, Unfortunately I will not be back and wouldnt recommend to anyone I'm afraid 👎

Lovely food and service even though there were 16 of us all the meals were out together and hot and the staff were so friendly

Went for some food before the band.(copperhead which were really good we enjoyed the night) drinks were standard price and it was a nice touch to receive a token with chance to win a bottle of spirit. Service was excellent all staff were very attentive and friendly. Prawn cocktail was lovely however bread was stale so had to ask for butter, ordered steak (as online reviews were good) however this was a mistake as sirloin was terrible, tough and chewy, onion rings were nice, peas were tasteless (would be better to have frozen garden pea) all in all a mixed bag, place was very busy though and on the whole we enjoyed our night out.

Called in with some of my family for lunch. Food was excellent. Staff were friendly. Great value for money compared to other pubs around. I'm going back soon....

It was NYE, the atmosphere was good and the footie on 👍 Sells alcohol free drinks too 😉 Toilets very clean 👌 Highly recommend 😉

They were amazing. I took a group of around 25 people here for Christmas lunch. They got everyone's order correct and made adjustments for people with special requests and needs. This establishment is hidden away in a housing estate, but what a find. The staff are a credit to their employer and the food is perfect. The atmosphere is warm and cosy. I was very pleased.

So had Sunday dinner today and even though i had done 6 hours at work and was really hungry when the so called Sunday dinner came it didn't look that good. My partner even swapped Yorkshire puds as she saw mine was worse than hers. Beef squashed together in a mush veg hard and the roast potatoes were the worst I've ever had. So when I complained with the full plate still evident of how i felt the staff only said sorry to hear you didn't like it !!! Beers good staff class bur food horrendous. Don't eat here just enjoy a drink.

Lovely bar with amazing staff. The only thing is the food, there isn't enough vegan options and they are usually in scarce supply.

All the food was dry and over cooked me and my Wife had the cowboy burger and my brother had the huntman chicken.

Went for meal at 1455. Kitchen staff going on break, however stopped back and cooked 2 meals. Thanks to James. Both meals were excellent.

We came here about a month ago as we where invited to celebrate our god son’s birthday 🥳 At that time we lived in Bedlington “BUT” we have just moved into Ashington at Woodhorn Meadows so we will be making this our new local from now on. The reason why we will make this our new local is because it clean, tidy, nicely decorated, staff friendly, kind, knowledgeable & professional. The bar is well stocked with largest : beers : ales etc etc etc + Free Wi-Fi 👍👍👍 I’ve heard that the manager Dave & Beth are both great people but not met them ourselves yet. First impression 10/10 👍

First time I have been in here. Lovely bar/restaurant. Just had a drink , but the meals being served , looked delicious. Very clean and tidy. Would definitely go back again.

A brilliant family oriented pub in the heart of Northumberland. Reasonably priced drinks and food. We will definitely return when passing this way again.

The Block & Tackle is coming on leaps and bounds since Beth & Dave took over running the pub. Plenty of choice of beers, lagers and everything else and the two, often three cask ales are always perfect. They're putting their heart and souls into turning the pub around and they're doing a great job too. It's a great and welcoming boozer, smashing team working behind the bar and some great bands popping up, all makes it a great pub to have on our doorsteps

Very overpriced for what it is, when I was ordering food they pretty much said it was a ready meal. The rice I had with my curry was very dry and we did wait a while for food. Marstons have taken a few vegan options of the menu for some reason so not many things to pick from now. The food is just okay and not worth what you pay.

Smelt of wet dog. food on the floor which I sure the staff could have swept up and the food was microwaved not fresh very disappointed sorry😔

Cracking pub. Families playing pool and eating together in one half; sports bar in the other half. They even offered a raffle every hour with free entry for every drink you ordered. It was a fun touch. Food was OK; typical pub grub and no real surprises or anything fancy.

Will not be back. Waited 1.5 hours after ordering for the dinner to arrive. Items were missing from the plate and what did arrive was cold. Then waited another 20minutes for the gravy to come. Would give 0 stars if able. Avoid if you want a Sunday roast.

Sunday lunch for 6ppl. Waited 1hr 20 mins for food even tho place was empty, when food arrived was clay cold and dryed up, only 2 ppl got gravy asked girl if could have some she said oh yes and went 20mins later still no gravy, absolutly shocking. Complained to young lad who gave free round drinks and then came out with gravy tild him to take the food away and just refund us

Great experience, ordered a meal and requested a takeaway container as I was planning on eating only half of the supplied. The bartender was extremely helpful and stated they didn't have any but would happily wrap the food up with tin foil providing the plate was returned. Will definitely be returning, along with the plate!

Best pub in Ashington by a country mile. Since Beth took over she has transformed the Block into a great pub. The atmosphere is fabulous, staff are so friendly and it's always a fun night out. We'll done to the whole B&T team ❤️

Was there for a party with Santa who was really good but the food was not.

Won't be going back, food was Sub standard,place had no atmosphere at all thought it being a Saturday afternoon be full of families out enjoying bit food,but went in and there was one table being occupied by others! Immediately thought oh god wonder why it's so quiet,was really strange,I got nachos as starter and couldn't even finish it was very bland and even had few kidney beans hiding in the bottom 😳..was nacho crisps on plate with a variety of not very good or tasty toppings! Sorry but I wouldn't go back if offered free meals as the other people I was with certainly didn't enjoy there food either.

Great staff but the best tables have loads of rubbish on them as the manager has her brick a brac on them and a lawnmower in the way of the beer garden door I think this needs addressed as she shouldn't be selling her rubbish from the bar and I couldn't get my usual favorite table apart from that the other staff are amazing and friendly and the food is great thanks to Beth she's doin a fantastic job

Attended a Cher tribute act on Friday and was so disappointed by the noisy riotous behaviour of people attending you could not hear the singer at all what a waste of money who pays to see a singer then screams and yells the whole time no one asked them to be quiet felt so sorry for the artiste apparently when a friend of mine complained she was told they were regulars as if that excuses disgusting behaviour will not be going again

Food was awful four adults and two children no empty plates we were very disappointed, staff were lovely and drinks were fine toilets clean

We were looking for somewhere for lunch seen your post on internet which had good reviews, menu was great i myself had chicken burger which was lovely and husband had cheeseburger which he enjoyed ( he is really hard to please ) so definitely will be visiting again. Even had a pint of fosters which was really good, atmosphere great & staff very friendly would definitely recommend. Visited from sandy bay caravan park.

While I was initially disappointed that I couldn't have the excellent Steak and Marston's ale pie as it was rightly sold out by 7pm, I was more than pleased with the beautifully cooked fish(half side of a whale) I received. The other plus being that the wife was more than happy with her Lasagne and garlic bread, the staff were more than accommodating and polite. Overall a nice Friday night dinner where all was good AAA+++

Most disappointing , ordered a steak and ale pie for.my friend and classic burger for myself, carrots with ale pie were inedible , chips with both meals not cooked properly, burger was over cooked, pie very disappointing , maybe chef was having a bad day... Felt to embarrassed to complain as it was not just one thing to complain about but both meals..
