Called into the bless for a couple of drinks and the service is second to none. The barstaff (Frankie) were very good to make sure that the drinks were perfect and so polite/friendly and helpful. I highly recommend anyone visiting Derby and needs refreshments (food and drink) that they call in here.

Nipped in here to have a pizza whilst waiting to go in deda for a show, the staff came and said they had a dough problem so would need to make another, so we said OK but we will collect after the show. I was shocked by the standard of this pizza, never have I had TWO so bad. You pick the pizza up and the topping just fell off. One should of had mushrooms and I saw about two. I thought it was a good offer, pint or large wine and pizza for £10 but i defo won't be going back that's for sure no matter how good a deal it is.

Bouncer lee, biggest knob to walk the face of the earth, go there and have a big bald bellend ruin your night, serious years of bullying resulted into 1 single man ruining a perfectly nice pub. 10/10 would recommend to anyone 👍🏼

I've been going in the Bless for over 30 years and normally enjoy it but this visit was horrendous. I understand the Covid situation but their approach is woefully over the top. Met on arrival and told a list of rules that we were listening to until boredom started to set in. Anyway, our group of 5 took a table outside and a couple that we were meeting in there were also sat outside albeit on the other side, they came and joined us until one of the staff came over and said "you're not allowed to move, we put you there for a reason". She then walked off moaning that she now had to go and clean the table. A few minutes later her colleague came over and bawled "hey, no drinking whilst standing up, bums on seats", one of the girls had committed the heinous crime of standing up for a few minutes. There were groups of lads sitting at other tables outside and in unison we were all laughing and making jokes about it being like in prison. We couldn't wait to get out of the place to be honest and for a joke we all walked out whistling to the great escape. Since lock down has eased I've been in loads of pubs/restaurants and understand the measures put in place due to the pandemic but have experienced nothing as officious, unwelcoming and hostile as this. I like the Bless but will give it a swerve until after the pandemic. I suggest the management consider the way the rules are delivered because I suspect you'll have people visiting once and not returning which is bad for business. We visited several pubs around that side of town yesterday and they all had Covid measures in place but at least we were made to feel welcome

Overly officious Covid policing by the Woman in charge. I know there has to be rules in place with the current situation but when the venue is almost empty at 4pm in the afternoon I and my party found the overseeing of the rules of behaviour stifling and policed a bit too over zealously. If you're on a crawl there are much better options in Derby.

I actually was picking my son up from here and got "talked" into going in for a drink whilst waiting for him (think it was so the Mum taxi didn't drive off!) . I was reluctant as not been in a pub since lock down and I thought it would be full of "Kids" (anyone under 30 is a "kid" !), I didn't go in till around 11pm I have to say I was impressed with the organisation of the inside, clear markers and a clear route for people to walk, One of the staff was also walking round checking people were "following guidelines"Obviously I didn't eat or see any food but I wanted to write the review to say "I felt safe " thank you you have all clearly worked hard towards that.

Great food mouth watering burgers, great music, cosy, nice staff, lots of potential. a little odd how scruffy seats and tables are inside the pub and back yard, surely it can be fix with a little bit of paint, also weird smell in one of the rooms with pool table.

Doorman at this venue charged us all £1.00 each to get in saying it was after 10:30 yet our watches and phones said 10:20 - after we challenged him he ejected my husband and shouted obscenities at us - this place should sack their doormen - very rude and unprofessional and arrogant - wouldn't surprise if they were pocketing the £1.00 for themselves as no receipt was given - never going here again

Rude arrogant doorman, they charge everyone £1 after 10.30 for entry, it was 10.20 and we had to pay. They took exception when we complained that it wasn't even 10.30. Do management know they're charging? if they do they should make sure they hand out receipts for the cash that's handed over. A thoroughly unpleasant night, we hadn't even been drinking and are 'middle aged' and not exactly trouble makers

Went out into Derby with my wife(45 years old) me (50 years old) my father in law and mother in law for a few drinks. Thought we'd try The Bless (as it's commonly known) and wow what a mistake this was.... we got greeted by a very arrogant doorman with "you got to pay £1 each to come in here after 22:30 hrs" when we questioned why that was, we got told it's been the same policy since 1985, we decided to pay the admission fee as we hadn't been in the Bless for many years. , we did ask for a ticket or receipt for our admission fee but nothing was available. When we got to the bar I randomly looked at my watch and the time was only 22:20hrs so I went back to the doorman that took our money to seek a refund, I pointed out that it was only 22:20hrs and could we all have a refund of which I got told "we go by that clock up there on the wall" I stated that that clock was 15mins faster than Greenwich mean time.... at this point he got very abusive and I said he was bang out of order and walked back into the pub , at this point I heard the doors bang open behind me and I was physically thrown out the pub, at this point my wife saw this and quickly stood between me and the doorman to prevent any further physical contact. My mother and father in law came out the pub and was also verbally abused by the doorman. We as a family will be certainly giving this pub a wide berth in the future. I feel the management of this establishment certainly need to look at the standard of security that it is employing.

The doorman was incredibly rude, and mildly racist. Did not appreciate. Despite being in our 30's and reminiscing our university days, we decided not to attend the evening due to the attitude of the doorman to a previous patron. Avoid on a weekend.

The Bless is fantastic. Such good music, really excellent prices and really good entertainment regularly. The comedy club upstairs is great and the use of the function room upstairs is a really good price and space! It's my favourite place in Derby by far.

The Bless is always a firm favourite and a great start to any night out and sometimes not going elsewhere! Have been going regularly for over 5 years and always has a great atmosphere and great music! Wide selection of drinks and doubles at the back bar on a Friday and Saturday night are always good and price has only changed by 50p in 5 years! The bless quiz is always a great night out and the beer garden in summer! Have had many great nights in the bless and I'm positive there will be lots more to come!

My husband and myself were refused entry as my husband was "stumbling". When I explained that he has cerebral palsy, we were told to "bollocks we're not buying that" by the most disgusting door staff I've ever come across. Would absolutely not recommend this place purely based on despicable efforts they have working on the door.

Blessington Carriage or to use it's more commonly known name The Bless is a very popular pub, but not for me. Bar staff need to welcome customer's and not look miserable, tables need to be cleared and the music was a little too loud.
