I paid nearly £40 for three meals and a cup of tea. Firstly, the wrong dish arrived for my friend. She’d ordered one dish and another arrived- a sausage casserole which when tasted was disgusting. . She left most of the pork stroganoff as it was slop. I had the veg pasta. It was cold and overcooked to mush with little taste. My mum’s jacket potato was ok. Very disappointed. A very expensive mistake. :(

Firstly I phoned to make a reservation for afternoon tea, the young lady who answered was so accommodating and pleasant, making sure of any allergies etc I am assuming that the same young lady served us on the Wednesday afternoon. She was delightful! So attentive and pleasant. Our food was delivered ,( without allergens ' and was delicious. This is by far the best afternoon tea around. We were given boxes to take home the surplus. ( still eating that!) This was our 2nd visit, we are definitely going for a 3rd . Thank you to all ..especially our waitress.

We nip in to the upstairs coffee area quite regularly and our visit on the 3rd July 2023 was an overpowering disaster, we arrived at 1210hrs and lots of non occupied tables, every single table was choker block with dirty crockery , trays and tissues on top of which the servers attitude left a lot to be desired. The quote was that the drinks would be 10 to 15 minute wait, when they came, after my wife had cleard and wiped a table for us to sit at, no spoons with the coffees, my wife once went to the counter and requested a spoon and was told non available as with knives and forks - she managed to acquire a little wooden stirrer. We sat at a table that gave a view of the cake display area which was mainly empty but gave a view of the dish washing machine and a large rubbish collecting receptacle - this was overflowing and yet was still having food remains and tissues dumped in to it which fell off on to the floor. Only 2 members of staff on duty for the first 20 minutes we were in attendance and then help arrived with another staff member. My opinion is that this cafe should have been closed for a minimum of 1 hour so that a full clean-up could take place or closed for the remainder of the day. We are feeling that we should steer clear of this cafe until all problems and staff shortages are rectified - it had 2 staff who had no chance to even wash there hands inbetween differing duties.

It's our 10 year wedding anniversary week. Today my wife wanted to go for afternoon tea. We had heared that a good place was the tweedmill blas clwyd cafe. We heared correctly, absolutely lovely. I had called up prior to our visit to book, just in case. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and sorted us a booking. Nothing was too much to ask from the staff, all so friendly and polite. The lady we mainly dealt with was fantastic, unfortunately I didn't catch her name so can't praise her personally. A bit of constructive criticism, one of the tea cups set on the table wasn't the cleanest, also the cutlery had a lot of water spots, so clearly some polishing required as the cutlery comes out of the wash. As I said though, this is just constructive criticism not a complaint because we out if this world enjoyed it. I for one will recommend afternoon tea at Tweedmills' Blas Clwyd Cafe.

Me and my family came to have dinner and were shocked by the low standard. The cafe’s aesthetic can best be described as “hospital canteen” and is reminiscent of getting a coffee while waiting for your mum’s test results. Solemn to say the least. When ordering we requested certain veg (red cabbage for example) be removed from the order only to be told that the “chef” at the cafe chooses what goes on the plate in terms of veg and he may or may not adhere to what we asked, I can honestly say I have never heard of that before in my life, maybe if this place was a high-end gourmet restaurant it is to be expected, but it most certainly is not. We were handed filthy glasses and were met to sit on sticky chairs that physically pulled my T-shirt back a little every time I lent forward. The food itself was less than ideal, apart from the meat, which was genuinely very good, the gravy was bland and flavourless, the “roasties” were undercooked and like I said earlier, my plate was covered in red cabbage which I specifically asked for none of. Seems the “chef” not only picks and chooses what veg he puts on your plate, but will load on whatever vegetables you specifically asked to have none of. To wrap, this was thoroughly unpleasant in all aspects apart from the Turkey and the customer service (everyone was quite pleasant), might I recommend a new look, new menu and new cooking staff? Because this may have been one of the least pleasant dining experiences of my life.

Blas Clwyd Cafe offers excellent home cooked food that hits the spot. My wife and I went today, she had the minted lamb hotpot and i Beef & Mushroom pie. Both served with chips and peas and a hot drink of your choice for just under a tenner. The food and service was great, and by the look of it we weren’t the only people who appreciate the cafe as the place was busy. Desserts looked nice but we had no room for those.

On this occasion I just had a white coffee, very nice, in a mug, which was brought to my designated table my a pleasant waitress, who took my details for COVID’track and trace’ purposes. It was about 3.30 pm on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty quiet and relaxed. As far as Covid requirements are concerned it appeared to me that a well-controlled regime had been set up, very safe, but I can imagine that there could be delays at the serving counter when they are busy. Not sure if they are accepting coaches at the moment, which would cause long queues when the coach business picks up.I have eaten at this establishment on a previous occasion, and the hot meals are very appetising. Prices are mid-range, but I have used a 2 for 1 voucher, and they are few and far between, but very welcome when you can get one.

Visited after finishing work at lunchtime and decided to call for lunch to Blas Clwyd Cafe as usual. There was a huge queue, in fact the queue was so long it finished in the Farm Shop. We waited a while and then an assistant came along to tell us all at the back of the queue that there was no seating available and to go upstairs to the cafe up there. Apparently this was all to do with a choir and some festive music. I would hardly call upstairs a cafe as their prices were very inflated. Very disappointed to say the least that we could not dine as usual in Blas Clwyd. Surely somewhere could have been found to house this huge choir and their hangers on?? Why didn't they go upstairs to the "cafe" and then Blas Clwyd could be used by everyone else who had nothing to do with the choir? We went elsewhere and maybe that is what we will do in future.

6 of us visited for a family Sunday lunch today. The lamb was tough, boiled potatoes black, veg had been steamed and very hard. Only bit edible was the gravy and roast potatoes. Spoke to an assistant and she said I can give you a refund on your dessert, but only 3 of us were having dessert and the rest had had starters. At this point we hadn’t had our dessert it was the main course that was sub standard! Very disappointing and we won’t be coming back, made to feel very uncomfortable.

Today I booked a table for an Afternoon Tea for 3 people. We arrived promptly and was asked to pay upfront. Our table was 'set' with 3 cups and saucers, and 3 tea plates A young man came and took our orders for tea and coffee and some cutlery and eventually our food arrived which I have to say was quite nice. BUT we only had one knife apiece, to spread first a chutney, and also jam & cream, only one teaspoon per person was brought with which to stir our drinks and eat our desserts . Ok, we could have gone down to the station where cutlery etc are stowed, but being rather disabled and situated at a table which was the furthest point from where they are kept. weaving in and out of the crowded restaurant wasn't that easy ,nor was attracting a member of staff. We felt rather let down by it all , and at almost £20.per head it could and should have been better presented.

Visited Tweedmill for shopping and thought we would have light lunch in café. Unfortunately very busy and not much left in the sandwich/light snack section. Bought sausage roll, which was rather minced/mashed inside and cheese and onion sandwich, which was rather nice. Coffee quite tasty and warming. Unfortunately café was rather untidy and tables had not been cleared of previous diners' meals. Didn't seem as good as our previous visits. No menu just lots of info displayed at counter area so it does make choice difficult as you are aware of other people in the queue. Cakes did not look very impressive lots of things were wrapped in clingfilm. Compared to the previous cafe here it seems quite impersonal and more like a canteen type of service. Suppose it is geared up for coach parties rather than relaxed dining.

We visited on a Wednesday for Lunch. Had to ask a staff member where the cafe was as it is tucked away at the back, with little signage at the front of the store to direct you. It was a nice touch to go through the farm shop to get to the cafe. An extensive menu which was a little overwhelming as the options were displayed in various places in the cafe kiosk area. My Grandmother was told she could have a small portion of the steak and mushroom pie but a full portion came out/was charged for, in a retail outlet that caters for more senior clientele it would be good to have smaller portion options. The chips with the pie were amazing. Chicken and leek option was nice. Cakes looked great but we were too full to indulge. Hot meals were brought to the table and service was good. Great selection of soft drinks, jugs of ice water next to the cutlery and condiments to help yourself to. Other diners were using the fire exit extensively despite large signs asking them not to. The dining area was warm, bright and accommodating and there were plenty of tables despite it being very busy in store.

Visited for coffee as we often do as the coffee is lovely, the staff pleasant and the seating areas comfy and plentiful. But sadly, this time our visit was spoiled by the extremely loud music played on the Tweedmill radio. We could not hear each other when trying to have a conversation. It has never been so loud before and has always been "in the background" Why do shops, restaurants, coffee shops and almost everywhere have to have music blasting out? Most annoying, especially when one of your party has hearing difficulties.

The onion rings were again frozen, nit crispy and very greasy. The chips were poor, no taste and mass produced.Overall, the premises is fine, but the food is poor at best, mass produced and possibly not made in Clwyd and if that’s the taste/flavour of Clwyd, then dot bother.Overall, disappointed.

This was our first visit to Tweedmill since undergoing a refurb of the added extension. I ate in the cafe quite a few times prior to this and it was always a very nice lunch. Although, having visited recently, I found the whole experience extremely disappointing! We ordered the afternoon tea (outside of the stipulated times of 2 & 3pm) and the lady behind the counter seemed somewhat put out by this (even though the counter board stated it was fine if it wasn't a busy period, which it wasn't!) They obliged with our order albeit reluctantly! When it arrived at the table, the "sandwiches" were on finger rolls!! With toppings such as prawn, some kind of sloppy mix of chicken mayo. Not the best of toppings! The Bara brith and welsh cakes were dry & tasteless. We were given mugs for hot drinks but not a teapot in sight, no herbal teas etc were offered?! Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that the point of an afternoon tea?! The clues in the title ... The waitress was very nice I have to say & swapped some of the finger rolls to toppings we liked. I'd probably eat here again but not have the afternoon tea. Worst I've ever had to be honest! Disappointed
