Blakes Hotel Restaurant in Kensington and Chelsea

I am gluten free and I could only eat two things on the main menu neither of them contain meat which I really fancied. The service was ok, not super quick but very friendly - which I think makes up for anything faults. The decor was lovely, romantic and moody with two large fire places, felt snug, busy with a good atmosphere.

Super super nice food! Posh from the outside, but still relaxed and chill atmosphere in the restaurant. Recomend the courgete spaghetti for lunch:)

I had the pleasure to spend an evening with my partner in this very charming restaurant. Service was good and attentive and with no fuss. We tried several dishes and the one I cannot forget is the ravioli with fresh tomatoes sauce. All the other dishes were also of an excellent standard. Recommended

A big heads up to Manuel for an amazing selection for breakfast. So much choice that we left it up to Manuel to make the choices for us. So pleased we did. Great food and amazing service. Will definitely recommend.

Whilst the restaurant itself was lovely and the service excellent, the restaurant is let down by the quality of food it serves. I had soft shell crab as a starter which was basically a pile of batter and tasted of nothing! To follow, several of us had the truffle pasta which was overcooked, swimming in butter which you feel congealing in your stomach as you looked at it - it was inedible! We had been looking forward to the evening but unfortunately it was very disappointing.

Two cocktails/ glass of wine each, highly overpriced with soggy crisps and boring olives. So expensive! No wonder it’s empty ! We just felt like an early evening drink ! I had a very mediocre cocktail followed by a glass of white wine, my husband had two vodka tonics, the whole amounted to £88. We shall not go back!

Breakfast at Blake’s is a must. Manuel and Erika will take exceptional care if you. The avocado toast is a must, along with the fresh ginger and an espresso. One of my personal favourites in London. 5 stars

I didn’t go I’m May this year... went years ago. Go occasionally for a drink or afternoon tea. Their afternoon tea is the best in town I think. Certainly best value. Snacks in the bar are very expensive for small portions, but amazing. But. Their food for dinner - I came on my own once, and it is quite literally up there with the best things I’ve ever tasted. Ever. I had their ginger chicken and a champagne jelly desert. And to start carpaccio. Superb. I had some wine probably and I think my bill was £70+ but worth it.

Great staff, friendly and knowledgeable. Fantastic surroundings, decour and atmosphere. Quality food and drink. Will definitely be back.

Extremely enjoyable dining room and bar! I can only attest ot the breakfast and evening drinks having reservations elsewhere. Breakfast has full british / american favorites done very well and moderately priced. No need to look elsewhere for morning starts. Start the evening off in the Bar, meticulously made cocktails were a delightful start to the evening!

We eat out probably 150 nights per year due to business travel. Blake’s was one of the worst dining experiences in 5 years puts it in the bottom .1% for us. We were told after we sat down that they needed the table in 1:45 minutes. Actually not a problem. We ordered and the food came so fast we felt out of breath. The food was fine, not overly imaginative, but since the starters blended into the mains, who could tell the difference or judge the quality. We ordered a bottle of wine half way through the starters, the mains came out before the wine which we had to cancel. We we had our mains served to us less than 30 minutes after we initially sat down and that included 10 minutes of cocktails and starters, and waiting to order. We haven’t felt less welcomed in 5 years anywhere. If you want a take out window dining experience at a supposedly fine food restaurant this is the place. Otherwise there are too many great restaurants in London to visit who will give you a great night out, so we don’t recommend wasting your short time at Blake’s.

What can I say apart from the excellent breakfast which I have had here often I am extremely impressed by the professionalism of Manuel and his colleagues Erica and Pietro. Dining alone isn't always the easiest of things to do, but I never feel awkward when I have breakfast at The Blakes Restaurant because I know I'm being looked after and the staff make every effort to ensure I'm happy. I very rarely leave reviews but I am always so impressed of the breakfast service that I had to leave this review. Thank you so Manuel for making my breakfast a cheerful one. Ate at Blakes with some colleagues and we were all really impressed. I really loved the subdued lighting and atmosphere, the comfy seating, the excellent service and the delicious food. Definitely one of the top 3 of my restaurant experiences.

The staff love it, no doubt considering a club vibe makes ignoring the clients easier, but, for those dining - it is the closest to torture this side of the Middle East.Only come here if you are 60 years old but think you're 16. If you are the type of person who sits under the speaker in a club, and think that makes you cool. The kind of socially dysfunctional person who never talks to those you are spending the evening with. Tables turn over quickly as drained diners rush to leave. Food is not bad, but believe me you will be begging to leave. Fastest dinner we've had this year.

A faultless evening at Blakes Hotel last night! A destination I've been meaning to visit for some time and with high expectations I was by no means let down. Everything from the gentle and warm welcome on arrival, the personal tour of the beautiful site and the way they made my guest and I felt throughout was truly wonderful. The service was simply fantastic and the food some of the most interesting and delicious we've ever tasted. I would highly recommend this hidden yet very special spot to all those seeking something different in London. I can't wait to come back and thank you team Blakes for an absolutely incredible night.

Went there for dinner. We had a voucher, so first they made as if we did not reserve, then miraculously 'found' our reservation. Staff were very friendly and actually talked to us, as we are not the rich stuck up customers they get all the time. All posh restaurants I've been to will always offer bread, free of charge. Here, nothing! Not mind blowing, will spend money elsewhere

Lovely downstairs section you can visit for free. Rooms so small you can barely open the front door. I have been staying in Marriott hotels in London(and around the world) for 15 years. You cannot simply add chains like Autograph and Xenia and allow them to choose how to deal with premier Elite customers. They choose to ignore as it isn’t loyalty to ‘their’ hotel. This was confirmed to me tonight. I choose to move from Marriott as I feel they have lost their way...

I have to say from the moment i walked in to the time i left was awesome.

i had not been to the hotel in a long time and re discovered the wine bar...i like it !!! it was very busy on a Friday night and that gave it an excellent atmospehere...will happily go back soon !

I visited blakes hotel restaurant yesterday with my kids for early dinner The food was fantastic we had 3 courses meal everything was on time .The attention of the staff was exquisite the lovely Sara was looking after us adding to my excitement she took me on tour around to The private club elegantly decorated pleasant bar man there Serve me with special cocktail.

Came to Blakes for dinner the other night and have to say that the food was quite, quite superb. We had oysters and scallops to start followed by the steak and lamb cutlets and a rum baba to finish; dishes that are not over complicated however, they were prepared, cooked and presented to almost perfection and tasted excellent. Good wine list if a little bit pricey. And all the staff very helpful and professional and not too overattentive. Highly recommended.

Had excellent customer service from Yusuf when a friend and I came here for brunch. Waiters were extremely polite and made us feel really comfortable. Really recommend this place for casual brunch, and the setting was also very calm and relaxed.

Located in calm position, Nice and most comfortable rooms with high end service. The restaurant is a gem. Food choice is excellent and fro all tastes and habits. Good wine selection and surprising cocktails.

Had a big group of friends visiting London for the weekend lats Saturday so I obviously took them to enjoy some drinks at Blakes in the bar below. We had a fantastic time. The place is super cozy, music is awesome and the drinks are perfect. But most importantly the staff in the bar are so friendly and hands-on and they really make the ambiance. Everyone was great and Toni I think his name was served us with amazing cocktails. They even helped us where to go next after the place closed and we wanted more out of the London night. Thanks

Four of us had birthday lunch here and it was wonderful. The food was exquisite. Highly recommended!

Hemos tenido el privilegio de tratar con caramelo Sufflee también! ! Que era simplemente divina si estás en postres! Bacalao negro te lleva a otro nivel, ya que se deshace en la boca le da sensaciones de placer! Tuvimos una gran noche. Agradecimiento especial a Davide que hizo nuestra experiencia inolvidable. Lo recomiendo totalmente.

Buen ambiente y muy bien presentado, pero sentarse a una mesa con un plato rotos como decoración no era tan bueno.

Went to Blake’s on a staturday evening for dinner as I heard it was a nice place to hung out... let’s just say far from.....

Cenamos allí esta noche, han sido dotados de una alcachofa, fuimos para ostras irlandés y un excepcional 3 ligeramente cremosa, elegimos una copa de tinto envejecido australiana, fue recomendado el Dover y decidido por el lado salvaje de champiñones.

Comida y decoración era bueno sin ser excelente (8 / 10) el servicio era pésimo. El camarero estaba haciendo todo lo posible, pero realmente no tienen una oportunidad. Demasiadas tablas para un hombre y una letanía de personas aparentemente no haciendo nada. Bebidas tardó años, vino pedimos todavía no había llegado a la tercera vez de preguntar sólo me dijeron que 20 minutos + más tarde que no tienen ninguno de los vinos que pedimos.

Decided on this venue to hold a dinner party for 7. The standard of service and general ambience is just right here. They have got it spot on! The food was delicious - highly recommending their soft shell crab and burrata - two great tasting dishes. The wine list is varied and I can highly recommend their pinot grigio. All in all a great experience and one I will definitely like to repeat. Thank you all.

Visited to try the vegan dishes and was impressed by the area and how well everything was presented in the restaurant. Service and all the dishes were excellent. Recommended for vegans/veggies alongside meal and fish dishes.

My boyfriend and I have been coming to the Blake’s hotel for drinks at the bar for a while now. It was only recently this month we decided to stay for dinner.

Thoroughly enjoyed dinner for four, all ladies with varying palates, my Burrata starter and Courgette Spaghetti Stir Fry for main were both delicious. Our waiters were charming, service spot on and the atmosphere refined whilst remaining chilled. Can not wait to go back. Going to try out their Sunday lunch very soon.

La sera della vigilia di Natale nel quartiere in cui ci trovavavamo era tutto, giustamente, chiuso. Ma non ne avevamo tenuto conto e per fare la spesa era troppo tardi. Una sola luce brillava nella notte, quella estremamente discreta, ma invitante, del Blakes (hotel e ristorante). L'alternativa: un atto di coraggio o il digiuno. Eravamo un po' intimoriti e non sapevamo se fosse aperto anche per quelli che non erano ospiti dell'hotel, ma il personale ci ha tolto subito ogni dubbio. Siamo stati accolti con la cordialità più calorosa, i camerieri e il maître erano gentilissimi, e - immancabile a Londra - c'era anche una giovane e deliziosa cameriera italiana, Alessandra, che ci ha aiutato nelle scelte e spiegato anche il piccolo mistero della sorpresa trovata sul tavolo: quel doppio tubo che scoppia e contiene un miniregalo (tipico del Natale inglese). Conoscevamo già la tradizione, ma è stato comunque divertente sentirne spiegare l'origine. Quindi: serata indimenticabile, allegria diffusa e discreta, cibi saporiti (una rarità a Londra), vino speciale, dolci sopraffini e prezzi davvero ragionevoli se confrontati con quelli dei pub. Certo non è un posto economico, ma per Londra non è affatto esoso. Quel che colpisce di più è l'accoglienza davvero stupenda, chiunque tu sia: i posti più eleganti a volte sono anche i più democratici

My fiancé and I had dinner at Blakes last week. It was an amazing experience, and I’m so grateful we were served by Luigi an Italian man with endless knowledge and very elegant manners.

Me inviated por un amigo para almorzar y pensamos que es un inverno lugar Blakes pero estaba equivocado. La comida y el servicio eran excelentes. La decoración y el ambiente íntimo y lleno de charatcter. Me encantó la chimenea. La comida era deliciosa. Compartimos la sopa con Kale y albahaca y Spaghetti al pesto crougette. Muy sana y sabrosa. Nutella sorbetto estaba fuera del mundo! ! No pude más que un reccomand ciertamente volver

Exactamente como he dicho, la cena estuvo 3 fuera de servicio 5 y un fuerte 4 de 5 comida. El desayuno era un 1 fuera de servicio 5 y 2 5 comida. (El servicio del hotel era excelente aunque)

Incluso viajar como una mujer de negocios, me dieron el tratamiento de estrellas. El desayuno es un lujo antes en su día por Londres. Habitación diseñada por uno de los mejores de Londres. También un festín para los ojos.

All in all a disappointing meal. The starters were tiny, and were more like side dishes. The lobster pasta was hard and lacked taste. The steak was disappointing and the vegan tiramisu was the worst I've ever had. The hotel is lovely but the food quality was very disappointing, especially given the price, and I would not visit again.

I had dinner with my daughter at Blakes restaurant and immediately had the feeling I need to share! THE FOOD IS AMAZING! Everything we tried - starters, mains, deserts was absolutely delicious. We had the chance to personally express our gratitude to the head chef - Peter when he came by. The whole staff were extremely friendly and that's what made our evening special. Peppe, the bartender, contributed a big deal as well with his amazing cocktails and smile.I definitely recommend the restaurant! Thank you Blakes Team, for such a wonderful evening! We're coming back for sure!

On Sunday the 20th of August I booked a table on your restaurant for breakfast at 10.30am with a friend. We had pancakes and chia seed and coconut pudding, both were very good, and with a couple of coffees we realised that were already two o'clock. So we asked for the bill and were about to leave when we started a conversation with Kristel the restaurant hostess, and as it was already 3pm we decided to have lunch as well, and so we sat again for a brunch, Sofka which was the waitress that also served us breakfast was amazing, and so was also Marta which took over the shift from Sofka. Good service as well as the food, so compliments to the chefs are also in order.Will definitely coming back.

The food at Blakes is first class and the black cod the best I've eaten in London. The cocktails are impeccably made and the service was excellent. Good ambiance and lively crowd.

Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful set boutique hotel. The food was good and the service excellent. The food is different to the usual and very nice. Follow the recommendations of the waiter.

We just had an excellent meal at the Blakes. Service was outstanding as were the signature cocktails. The food was excellent from the Sashimi to the pasta and Dover Sole. Highly Recommend.

I went there with a friend waiting for our table at the bar downstairs. The food at the restaurant was very plain, boring and overall poor, despite a good service and a nice initial artichoke and truffle mayo treat.However the grilled octopus was anonymously paired and tasteless and the lobster paccheri profoundly wrong. If you have a good lobster and you basically just hide it in a ton of cherry tomato sauce because you can't be bothered making a good bisque with its shells and blend flavours with it, then you deserve a poor review. Unfortunately also the espresso it was not very pleasant...however the bar afterwards is a complete different story and deserves 5 stars for the vibrant atmosphere and the fine tuned cocktails.

Expect the people here who want the best but not in a flashy way. The service is fantastic and the food is incredibly well made and presented.

Food was absolutely delicious; had oysters to start and rib eye steak for the main. The setting is great and has an art deco feel... there is a bar which is perfect for pre-dinner drinks. Blake's is not cheap but it's a very cool place and the service was impeccable. I had a great night and would recommend it to anyone.

We ve been sited on outside garden of the restaurant. The food is amazing : I tried Rissoto and Yellowtail tartare. Service was amazing as well. Totally worth the visit.

Abbiamo cenato al bar, nella sala al piano inferiore. Ambiente molto comfortevole e informale nonostante sia anche elegante. Molto apprezzata la muscia dal vivo con un chitarrista molto bravo. I piatti sono tutti squisiti, fin esagerate le porzioni! Da tornarci sicuramente

Blakes Hotel Restaurant is definitely a good choice when considering a breakfast, brunch or lunch. The dishes are quite simple but still fascinating. Every dish is unique , but If I had to recommend something I would definitely suggest the pancakes and their very tasty and spicy Bloody Mary cocktail. If you are planning to go with friends or your boyfriend/girlfriend, I believe it is ideal as it is not noisy so you can enjoy each other's company.

I have been here a number of times for afternoon tea, just to have tea/drinks and once for dinner. All were very lovely experiences. The decor is oriential in style, lovely, but it's a tiny place. You may be in there on your own. It is best to book if you are going for afternoon tea. It has recentlt had a refit and I've not been since (yet). Afternoon tea is beautifully presented either on slate plates or a Blakes bento box, sandwiches, and a little salad, and then scones and selection of cakes. It is good value, cheaper than many of the "nice hotel afternoon teas" but still very special with large silver teapots and lovely ambience. Popping in for tea or a glass of something is a nice thing to do sometimes if you are in the area. Dinner here was sublime, everything tasted so good I didn't know what to do with my tastebuds! The menu is not big, but what is on there is very good with a heavy oriental inspiration. I had ginger chicken for my main when I went, and I wanted to move in immediately. Out of the way, and an interesting history - the designer and it being a trendy hang out some years ago. I look forward to going again.

Did lunch there. Food was excellent. Service was very friendly and adept at dealing with our questions on the interesting menu. Truffles were good quality, though I noted a healthy dose of truffle oil around. Desserts were very good. This is worth the money.

The manager was rude and not service-minded at all, the service and behaviour was totally unacceptable for a high class establishment. The waiters were always leaving the restaurant area with no one able to answer as there was nobody present. We have been waiting for them to return to order .... Smoking during the service ? What happened to the customer service? I haven't felt so uncomfortable a long time. Shocked, horrified and in disbelief; we will not be returning to this restaurant ! DON'T go there ! It was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I write a review every time I visit restaurant and I hope you read this before deciding to eat here.

Che dire del BLAKES? Sicuramente è qualcosa di speciale..in tutto! Cibo ottimo, ricercato,piatti curati nei minimi dettagli fatti con ingredienti scelti e di qualità. Preparati da personale altamente preparati, dalle prime portate alle ultime.Sono stata per la colazione. un after dinner e cena, quindi tre volte!!! Servizio impeccabile, posso dire che tutto lo staff si "prende cura" del cliente consigliando, se richiesto, gli accompagnamenti dei piatti e bevande. Ci si sente "coccolati" nel vero senso della parola! Ma andare al Blakes è molto di più che solo mangiare....è un'esperienza culinaria/culturale e sociale! Aggiungo la bellezza del posto. Non è possibile descriverlo. Un mix di raffinatezza e sensualità, sensazioni che mai mi sarei aspettata di sentire in un ristorante! Ringrazio calorosamente TUTTI! Mi sembra evidente che il mio consiglia sia: IMPERDIBILE!

Came here on a works Christmas Do, due to a very strong recommendation from a colleague. It’s a stylish, if rather dark, restaurant sitting within the very trendy Blakes Hotel in South Kensington. There’s quite a buzzy atmosphere in there and the palce was full of relatively small scale office Christmas do’s, so good humour all round.We started off with some Amuse Bouches – which were Artichokes with melted butter – yum. For Starters we shared some of the Red Hereford Beef Carpaccio, with parmesan and mustard dressing – sublime. Then for the main we each had the Charcoal Grill Corn-fed Rib Eye with chips. Mine was far too fatty for my liking and so was rather disappointing. However we washed it all down with a couple of bottles of the Domaine de Bel-Air Fleurie (Granits Roses) – which was eminently quaffable and made everything taste marvellous! The staff were efficient, if not overly friendly and the bill was slightly steep for what we had had. So overall I can’t wholeheartedly recommend this place – although it was very good. The problem is there are so many truly excellent restaurants in this part of London that to stand out, you really do need to stand out!

This was a relaxing and civilised brunch. Good service, which was attentive but not over the top. The menu has a contemporary feel: it includes foods such as acai berries and wheatgrass drinks but also has enough choices of good hearty standard "brunch" fare. The setting is very pleasant indeed. Would definitely go there again.

I had not been to the Blakes in years. Last time I had diner there, the restaurant was in the basement.Now the restaurant is now on the ground floor and actually looks more like a restaurant than the basement used to.Food was very good, service excellent and overall it was a great evening. Small caveat: as the dinner progressed they started playing music louder and louder and at the end we could hardly speak to each other. I know this tends to be a trend ( blasting music) but if I want to go to a night club I'll go to a night club. I enjoy having a conversation when I am having a meal.Another caveat : it is expensive £120 a head which I don't feel is justified

Dark and moody restaurant with 'glamour' types in abundance. We were in a large party and maybe the restaurant couldn't cope. With red & white wines we were offered only one glass per person (despite several of us asking for two). Most bizarre was the main course being served and then the vegetables arriving well after the main course had been cleared away (presented as though it was normal, without an apology - when pressed they admitted it was a mistake in the kitchen). Not a place for us to return.

After the first night in a very small room and complaining we have received a marvelous room on the 4th floor with balcony - the staff was very professional, apologizing and offering a bottle of champagne and breakfast , thank you!Quiet location and cosy, good to chill out after a day in the busy city

Dinner for four in a lovely, recently updated setting. This is fine dining in a boutique hotel with a history of catering to musicians and stars. Grilled octopus and burratta appetizers are a must.

Un ambiente raffinato, elegante, dove però ti senti a casa e a tuo agio, grazie anche alla gentilezza e professionalità del personale, in particolare il manager in charge Alberto, che mi ha consigliato nella scelta. Cibo buonissimo e materie prime di ottima qualità. Interessante anche la proposta del brunch. Tornerò sicuramente.

Ambiente poco illuminato in generale con fasci di luce sul tavolo che ti permettono di vedere le portate.Servizio di buon livello e ottime portate con accostamenti interessanti senza strafare (mi sembra di aver capito che in cucina ci sia uno chef italiano).Unica nota dolente: il tavolo tondo in cui eravamo accomodati era molto grande e il locale troppo rumoroso, ho potuto conversare solo con gli amici ai lati usando un tono molto alto per sentirci. Ad ogni modo lo consiglio!

Beautiful rooms, a good bar and a very good restaurant. This is still one of the best boutique hotels. Cannot be recommend too much.

The "manager" of the restaurant is rude in a very low end Italian way. The other staff are almost all as bad in the same vein. Seems they think it is terribly smart and those paying are to be trodden on.Oh and expensive for very mediocre food. I used to go often and liked the restaurant when it was downstairs. Something has gone very wrong and it's lost all its atmosphere.Avoid

Appalling, over-rated, over-priced and the staff are simply rude and pretentious. Just a horrible evening. Decor looks OK in the photos but really doesn't cut it in reality. Just take the plates, I know maybe a minor point, but they are cheap IKEA style white and very ordinary. Bad sign. Service is sporadic - they don't notice that you need a knife, they don't bring the water that you ordered unless you ask again (that is so long as you can get the attention of the staff). OkAs I mention to the restaurant manager that was a back up solution a last moment call to friends to find the place and get booked in in a short time-Welcoming from each member of the staff was absolutely real , fresh and authentic- as they find I was the friend's friend how I was even better- wine temperature, quality , service WOW- home made seads focaccia WOW,could not stop to eat it- selection of the menu nice and seasonal nice balanced- Staff well trained , professional present but not oppressing , knowledgeable about all and right answer when they do not know....let me check with the manager food we had a selection of few plate my lunch partner was first time for the lobster , and truffle and artichoke ( thank you :she almost cry for the happiness of the experience...)-lobster paccheri, truffle ricotta ravioli, black cod, artichoke, dessertthank you Davide ,Alberto, Luigi and rest of the staff

Beautiful rooms, very nice and considerate staff and an amazing restaurant.Chose to dine in the hotel two nights in a row instead of going.You have to accept the buzz from an active bar and restaurant, but I'm all in.

Blakes is probably the worst hospitality experience I've ever experienced. The Maitre'd suspiciously followed me to the loo upon arrival, grabbed me by the arm and tried to physically walk me to the table! The doorman was intimidating and didn't even open the door. The whole thing is expensive, pretentious and lacking any degree of class. From the minute I walked into the place I was made to feel that I wasn't good enough to be in there, even though I was an invited guest. It's not the £65 round of drinks I bought that gets me mad, it's the lost window of opportunity to enjoy my evening with my old friends reunion. I will never return here and will make a conscious effort to tell everyone at work how bad it is.

Dear Manager,I understand that the hotel has been lately refurbished -by the way, your bar is beautiful !-, but please, tell the nice Italian staff downstairs that if one client orders some food at 1am, it's because he's hungry, which often happens when one drinks a lot, he might not appreciate more than an hour of waiting :-(Also, instead of these mini, even super mini burgers (size of a golf ball) for £18, why not something more consistent but still easy to prepare ? The bar is beautiful, the Italian staff super nice but clearly still disorganised, the music not too loud, insomma avete tutto per farne un bel posto successful, sopratutto in questa zona dove non c'è tanto da fare di notte, quindi -secondo me- ci sono dettagli da migliorare ancora.I don't want to put stars, I want you to improve staff management and night menu ;-)Many thanks

We enjoyed two breakfasts and one dinner at the Blakes Hotel Restaurant. The ambiance and staff were excellent - the staff being attentive but not intrusive - and the food for all three meals was superb. Portion sizes are good - neither meager nor heaped servings - and the wine list was excellent. We will return.

I'd heard that Blakes Hotel was undergoing some changes so I thought I would go a check it out (having never been before) and I wasn't disappointed. Dinner was amazing - I chose mostly fish/seafood (the sashimi and black cod were fantastic). Service was very professional but friendly and relaxedl. There is a nice terrace at the back for a pre-dinner cocktail and the decor in the restaurant is quite opulent (black/golds). Will definitely go back for food and also to see the downstairs bar which was opening soon after my visit.

Don't let the stairs to the restaurant scare you away....the Hard Day's Night Hotel...has an elevator for use.Food is incredibly good.

I love small intimate settings, so this restaurant was ideal. We had the sashimi platter as a starter followed by black cod, caviar and oddly, cheese souffle...it was perfect. The staff were knowledgeable, courteous and they served with a smile. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

Book for a group for afternoon tea, received from the restaurant an email with confirmation and menu, but when I arrived (on time as per booking) the "afternoon tea" was not available and we was offered brunch instead!The food and service was good but I booked for afternoon tea and not for a plate of pasta!

I took my mum here for cocktails in the garden when they collaborated with Matthew Williamson. We were so shocked how beautiful they had made it. Every little thing had attention to detail. The atmosphere in there garden was serene. It really was like floral heaven! The cocktails were divine and we're very easy to drink so naturally we were very happy when we finally left. I was saddened to hear the the garden isn't currently as fabulous as the Matthew Williamson collab had finished. We would easily return if something similar were to come again.

We saw this place in an instagram account and like the colorful bird cage. Made a reservation for brunch for 3. They welcomed us in the in reception of the hotel and took us 2 floor downstairs which was depressing. When we arrived to the back garden it was nice depressing at all. It was decorated with dry flowers which smelled nice, looked nicer. It was not crowded so we were lucky to have the cage. The service was nice, food was average. It was a different experience overall.

We had seven for a Christmas lunch at Blakes. Working from a temporary kitchen, serving in a temporary dining room, these guys are good. Really good. Turkey with all the trimmings, a great wine selection, you can do better. The Front of House Manager, Mickey McGaw, took exceptional care of us during our stay.

The best experience ever :-) Rooms are exceptional , service is the best, locational superp and the family feeling is great !

There are no words to describe my disgust !!! While I was having my breakfast with my girlfriend we noticed two mice walking around the restaurant and nobody from the staff did anything. We spent two nights in total and that was the most horrible experience we ever had. As a consequence, we had to chose another hotel in the area to avoid this terrifying picture of mice walking around the food. I do not know how is this hotel still functioning but definitely we won't go back EVER. Think twice before going to this place.

I have eaten here many times. This is a perfect place. The food is always excellent and the service matches it. Every dish is prepared to perfection. Lovely cocktails too. The bar is one of the best in London.

My niece booked the horticultural Oasis for celebrations for my nieces up coming wedding, by email, which was confirmed by email by Anna-Lisa. She gave her credit card to confirm booking. My niece received a telephone call 2 hours before, telling her the booking had been moved to 7.00 instead of 6.30, which she had no choice to accept, as there was another party in the birdcage.On arrival we were asked to sit downstairs in bar area. Anna-Lisa came along 5 minutes later to say that our booking had to be cancelled as they had double booked, she did this with a smile on her face.How does one double book on a computer system? To say our party was ruined is an understatement.

Afternoon tea was served in the beautiful Chinese Room, but I think there is also the option for the Japanese Garden on a sunnier day! Although it was a lovely setting and the food served was high quality, the portions served were extremely small for what you'd expect for an afternoon tea in London. They advertise on the menu 5 different sandwiches, although we only got 3 and the scones were tiny! There are no refills like you typically get and expect as part of an afternoon tea experience. The service was good, however not that attentive probably due to the location of the tea room. Overall, I would recommend as the setting is lovely and not too expensive, however I wouldn't visit again as have had much better afternoon tea experiences in London.
