Blackwood Takeaway in Walsall

Walked to the Fish Bar whilst looking after our grandson in Streetly, it was a bitterly cold day and we wanted something hot for lunch. My husband ordered a large cod and chips for us to share and it was freshly cooked the staff couldn't have been nicer, my husband overheard one customer asked which curry sauce he wanted, my husband heard the member of staff say Irish curry sauce, when the customer left he asked the member of staff what Irish curry sauce was and he said it was a bit sweeter with an after kick. We got the fish and chips and as it was so cold we ate it in the shop it was gorgeous the member of staff gave us a pot of the Irish curry sauce which was fantastic. Me and my family have been going to this chippy for a long time now and the staff are so nice as well as the food. There is this one lady who is a wolves fan who we also have a bit of banter with and the other staff are also very welcoming and don't take the mick when I have gravy with pretty much everything :)

Usually good fish & Chips but last night Chips were tired and hard and fish was not fresh. Suspect been kept warm since lunchtime Need to maintain their standard so I’ll be giving the place a miss for the time being

the food was great but what put me off was how she treated her employees ,the girl looked like she was having a breakdown , i’ve been in there a few times before and the food has always been decent not the best but not the worst, but it was really the way she spoke to her staff ,really threw me off going again as i felt to say something because i wouldn’t like it if it was my daughter !!!!

This is a great chippy.We love the food and will happily drive to Streetly from Boldmere for the good tasty food. My husband loves the Donner Kebab as it is done to perfection. Thank ou guys.
