Decent food not over priced x lovely place xx

Great little Local pub and restaurant in Chipperfield. They have pretty much everything on the menu with reasonable prices. Friendly staff, nice coffee and delicious muffin.

Great place great food ….but they seem to question you why you left food on your plate.

Spent a lot of time drinking coffee whilst waiting for the ballet dancing classes to finish. Also a great place to meet for breakfast and to pop in for a beer when on a dog walk. Great venue that clearly is an asset to the community.

Verry nice place and staff. Seating outside and inside lots of it and good shelter form the rain also Seating near the park in view of the playground. Also good amount of Seating inside and t.vs to see sport and pool table. Also lots of selection of drinks and ice-creams,also good selection of chocolates. Also lost of toilets which where clean and spacious. Food came fast and tasted spectacular and good portion sizes. Also love the dog friendliness. Please leave a like 👍 it helps me out.

We stopped off here after a walk with our friends. We are not local but they are, and they had recommended this place. We sat around the side of the building nearest to the tennis courts. It was a sun trap. The food was nice and well priced. It came out quite quickly. I had a tomato, mozzarella and pesto panini. The others in the group had panini's and large breakfasts. The food portion sizes were good and the food was hot.

A lovely quiet stop-off on my journey, meeting friends. Good English breakfast after a short wait, I believe the building was owned by the Crosse & Blackwell family. It has character & has facilities for the local community.

Avid hiker here, I use chipperfield common as a gentle walk, or warm-up for longer hikes, and I passed this place many times before checking it out. The exterior has a Community centre-come-café vibe, interior is spacious and tidy, prices are spot on (coffee under £3 at present), Staff are very warm and welcoming. Such a shame I didn't pop in for a coffee sooner! ☕

Popped in for breakfast this morning with my brother who lives in the village. What a lovely place to meet which was busy in a good way.

Ciabatta breakfast of sausage egg, bacon and mushroom a winner. Coffee OK, but just OK...

What a great cafe/bar to relax in after a long walk. Splendid service from the young staff. A nice coffee and breakfast bap promptly served and reasonably priced. Lots of seating indoors and out.

There were about 12 of us there for lunch (we did pre-order) and everyone had a very enjoyable meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I'd go there again and recommend to friends.

I'm not one to dine out alot, however. If you have the time and want some proper good food I would definitely give it a try. Especially if you are local. Not only is it an amazing local cafe it's also one of the nicest quality food I think I've had at a cafe, if I were you I'd give it a try you never know if it's something you'll fall in love with.

A little gem we had driven and walked by before but never gone in. Will certainly return.

Such a lovely warm welcome by the team on a cold spring afternoon❤️ Great range of hot and cold food, snacks and beverages. The team were careful and knowledgeable regarding dietary intolerances and I felt safe and comfortable with my choices as a result. Of course the flapjacks and hot drinks where just the perfect pick-me-up after a nice dog walk and we could bring our pooch inside to enjoy some warmth with us as well - a nice touch! The restrooms were clean and well-lit, ample parking and with seating outside and places to picnic, Blackwells Cafe is a small but a delicious retreat to rest, dine and recharge with charming and friendly staff for that additional welcome 😊 Thank you all for adding to our lovely weekend 🤩

Stopped in for a hot drink after a walk in the woods, the young girl who served was very polite and very efficient 👌🏻 the bloke who stood there taking the money (must of been the owner?) had about as much personality as one of the dead people in the graveyard opposite 😒. The place is pretty good and dog friendly, the drinks were good, might try the food next time.

I hired a hall here to perform a live solo singing gig. Really friendly and helpful staff, nicely presented hall and lovely food all at reasonable prices.. I would recommend this place for anyone wanting to hold a party or private function. Or just simply to pop in and grab a bite to eat on a local walk..

Nice place in a lovely setting. Staff were cheerful and friendly the second we walked through the door. I had never been there before but they chatted like I was a regular customer which was nice. The food was well presented and very tasty. Not the cheapest as it's in a village location but the scenery, atmosphere and friendliness makes it more than worth the little extra! If you are in the Chipperfield area try to pay a visit as I'm sure you won't be disappointed and will want to thank me for pointing you in Blackwell's direction. I will definitely be paying a visit the next time I am near. 😀😃

Very good place for a post walk lunch

A little haven for food and drink after all that walking in beautiful English countryside. Much of the food hand made and cooked to perfection. A definite place to visit before during or after exercise or a drive.

Poor to say the least. 12.30 and I was informed 39 mins for food, standing waiting later yo get coffee, took nearly 5 mins to take an order from 2 guys that were told 1hour wait for food I was totally ignored so gave up waiting. SORRY BUT IM NOT GOING BACK THERE , by the way don't have liver and bacon as overcooked live, no bacon and thick gravy with reconstituted onions ..yuk

This was a great location for an family and friends birthday party. Really nice space very open with a good size dance floor area and central located bar. All the things you need for a great party. We had a real fun time here. Thanks to H and J for a great party.

stop off here regularly for a cuppa after walking the dog. The staff, especially Tara, Steph and Leanne are superb. You need to time it right tho, because it can get very busy especially if you arrive just after a bunch of walkers

A gem of its type. Very modest from the outside, warmly welcoming once inside with a good menu from breakfast to afternoon tea. Chipperfield is a picture postcard village with a decent cricket pitch at its heart, church to one side, this high class coffee shop beside the village schoolroom. Ample parking within 2 minutes walk and extensive woodlands to enjoy opposite. I've been coming here for 30 years, I can only wish for 30 more.

Absolutely fantastic place, staff were really accommodating. We just dropped by for a drink and ended up having a vegan lunch that they quickly put together. I thoroughly recommend this place. It's set in a lovely location too and village feel. Very welcoming.

Really appreciate your great service. You don't have vegan food on the menu but you still went out of your way to make us Vegan food. I would highly recommend this lovely place with most friendly staff.

We hired the back room for a 7th birthday party. The food was also provided for us. We had a fantastic time and the kids absolutely loved it. Parents were also happy as could have a drink at the bar. Really pleased with the service and great price of £50 for the days hire. Would highly recommend. A walk around Chipperfield woods just outside or a stroll around the common afterwards is also highly recommended

Great café / bar, really good garden with a huge play area

This is a pleasant "cafe" with plenty of space to sit outside, outside under a gazebo or inside. There are protective sheets at the till and the menu selection is wide. We didnt eat, and just had hot drinks and treats. We recommend the chocolate melts and millionaires shortbread. There is a lovely play area outdoor with den, 2 slides, monkey bars and some climbing holds. Kids could have played all day! Toilets were clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back. Nearby there are woods to walk around and a cricket pitch (currently under repair) we had a lovely afternoon!

Great service, good prices and I hear the Breakfast is well worth the trip (...at least from the Ley Hill area 😀). Ground floor toilets and check the website if you want to use the tennis courts.

Located in remote small village with amazing nature views. Huge place, with tables outside and inside for a large groups of people and families. Kids play area too. Staff is as friendly as food is good, quality local ingredients makes the difference. Highly recommended for anyone.

Very nice cafe/tea room. The great surprise was they sell Movenpick ice cream, probably the best commercially made ice cream in the world, from Switzerland. The cafe was tranquil and the service friendly and helpful. What makes it so pleasant is its rural setting in this tiny village. A nice resting place on a country day out.

Nice café on the common doing it's best in the Covid-19 world. Good outdoor seating facilities have been provided, hand sanitiser is plentiful and toilets are still available.
