Really friendly and attentive staff. The main course of the ‘All In’ was great, but the ‘pre-chop’ bites were essentially 3 sandwich fillings on top of a cracker - bit weird. Still great value for money for the amount of food and the home style ‘say when’ cheesecake was fab Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Unfortunately the women’s toilets were disgusting - grubby, toilet seats hanging off, bins overflowing with tissue paper.

Went for the Sunday Roast and had the "All in" combo to try their beef, lamb, and pork with veggies and Yorkshire pudding. Everything was cooked perfectly including the potatoes. Horseradish, gravy and chutney sauces were excellent pairings. Their dessert cheesecake (extra helping by the server) was a perfect mix of savory and sweet...could not put the spoon down! Highly recommend and check to see if a reservation slot opens up a few days before hand. We were able to find a slot. Would love to come back again next time we are back and try the cauliflower cheese.

Sometimes, rave reviews are best taken with a pinch of salt. We went there for the Sunday roast, ordered the “all in” option, ie beef, lamb and pork slices of roast. Meats were tasty enough but nothing to shout about. The meat was piled on top of decent sized Yorkshire puddings, which tasted of nothing and the stewed root veggies were just that…stewed and gunky. Alas, the roast potatoes were lobbed into the same serving platter so we’re not at all crunchy. The waiting staff feigned busy-ness most of the time, although to be fair, the place was hopping with full tables. Though nothing they did warranted admonition, I don’t feel the automatic 12.5% service charge was deserved. The only pleasant experience was when we were first greeted and served by the hostess; she had a friendly and welcoming air. Other than that, I would not find much reason to return.

Fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. Wait staff gave recommendations on which order to eat the starters in, and guidance on best sauces for the steaks. Table was cleared in a timely manner and starters and mains arrived as such. Good selection of sides and the cheesecake...... Well! I could see why that's so famous. It really is worth the hype. Not too sweet and an absolute culinary delight.

Had a delicious meal at blacklock this eve omg. Best dining experience of my life. Me and my wife commented on how quick and speedy the service and delivery of food was! The portion sizes were SO generous! And just when we thought it couldn't get any better; when the bill came we were surprised at the value for money the restaurant is! We were told by a friend to try the cheesecake but we were so full after the main course. 10/10. Shout-out to Paulina for giving me and my wife a date night to remember!

Dining at blacklock was a once-in-a-lifetime experience—mainly because I’ll never be making that mistake again. The food took so long to arrive I began to believe we were part of an avant-garde performance art piece titled “Waiting.” By the time something finally graced our table, it was only some of what we ordered—apparently, the rest had ascended to a higher plane. As for portion sizes, they clearly subscribe to the “less is… oh wait, that’s literally it?” school of thought. My steak was roughly the size of a large postage stamp—generous, if you’re feeding a hamster. And just when I thought the joke was over, the bill arrived, proudly displaying a 12.5% service charge—a charming little thank-you for the privilege of chasing staff for missing items and pretending not to cry when my dinner arrived looking like a canapé with commitment issues. In summary: An unforgettable evening of starvation, confusion, and paying extra for the emotional labour. Highly recommended—if you hate yourself

If you’re looking for a 10/10 roast.. look no further - Blacklock comforts all my Sunday feels and the service is always so lovely. Special shout out to Michael and Arthur who made our visit extra special, the exact reason I’ll be back again and again. The meat is flavoursome, juicy and the perfect sized portion - the trimmings are just like you’d make at home, homely seasoned goodness. There’s a lot of roast dinners out there but this is in my top three hands down. We honestly couldn’t eat another bite after the cray fish salad and then the ‘all in’ platter but that spoonful of cheesecake was just the perfect amount to send me on my way to a food coma

We are asked to vacate the table within 1.5 hours so if you book the 12 noon slot on a Saturday, they want the table back by 1.30pm - then they will “extend” to 2pm so you could spend ££££ but they are interested in the next person, not you. We have been coming here for years during the week because the food aid amazing and so has the experience and never treated to this “commercial” behaviour. We carried top champagnes and wines to drink and enjoy over a leisurely Saturday lunch which was not meant to be! Moral of the story….eat and leave.

Booked through their website, very easy to book, From the moment we stepped into the restaurant right until the very end staff were very friendly and uplifting. We ordered the porterhouse 800g, kale parmesan, beef dripping chips and garlic bone marrow was just purely amazing. Excellent quality, will definitely be back. This is a perfect example of a 10/10 experience. We ended up going here because we were looking for an affordable restaurant known for its steak. It certainly lived up to its reputation. We arrived around 8 PM but the restaurant was full. Luckily they have a waiting list that you can apply for and then a text message will be sent to you when they have a table. The employee was kind enough to recommend us a couple of bars to get some drinks whilst we were waiting for our table. We ordered a variety of dishes and shared them. We had the denver steak, a t bone (lamb), pork loin and pork belly with the fries and bread & gravy on the side. The denver steak was absolutely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. You cannot visit this place and not eat that steak. Every bite of food, was absolutely delicious. The best way to end our dinner was the cheesecake. It was DELICIOUS. If I visit London again, I will be coming back. The restaurant itself has a cosy, western-ish vibe. Service was fast and polite and the employees seemed to actually like their work. 10/10 experience as I said.

I'm glad I booked a table in advance, but even then, nothing was available for lunch or dinner, leaving us with an awkward in-between time. Despite that, even when we arrived, there was still a queue of hopeful walk-ins waiting outside, so it was no surprise to find downstairs bustling with a great atmosphere and energy. While deciding what to eat, we forgot to look at the drinks menu, so when our waitress came over, I quickly ordered a cherry cocktail, which I didn’t enjoy it due to the smoky mezcal. In fact, all of the cocktails weren't that great as they were all quite weak. Our first order of skinny chops arrived. We were surprised to find the different meats piled on top of each other, which put our taste buds to the test identifying what was what! We collectively agreed that the t-bone was our favourite, followed by the belly, cutlet, rib, and then loin. The green sauce our waitress gave us was absolutely delicious, and the kale parmesan was surprisingly really good. For mains, OO and I had the prime rib, OH ordered the bone-in sirloin, and LO went with the sirloin. We added the Blacklock gravy, and our waitress recommended the chop sauce and garlic marrow, which she generously provided on the house. Her suggestions were absolutely blinding, and the beer chips were just beautiful. Blacklock is definitely the place for meaty indulgence (skinny chops, not so much). The steaks were definitely among the best we’ve had.

This was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had ever. Let's start of with the atmosphere: cozy place, great chill music, and just the right lightning. Next up, the service. Let me tell you a tale of Nikolaos. He came in with a wonderful energy and you could see he was here to please. Set us up with water, great recommendations, friendly, didn't oversell. Came back to check on us regularly and made the experience even better. Definetly a great person that we sadly didn't get to tip because service was included?! Food: We had the All In One deal with a white chocolate cheesecake dessert. It was divine. Starters were included in the deal, lots of meat and two sides. We added one sauce each and it was a steal. The meat was great, especially the pork which surprised the both of us. But best of all has to be the cheesecake which was served from a big pan right on the table with a wooonderful jam with just a touch of acidity. We were very full and incredibly happy. If we ever come back to London we'll be sure to return to Blacklock.

Value for money steak. Prawn cocktail is just ok 4/5 for me. Garlic bone marrow- i feel like it lacks the melt in your mouth” factor; cannot pinpoint whats missing in the flavor. But again, their steak is no doubt highly recommended. Do not forget to pair your steak with their signature Blacklock gravy. Better to book in advance to avoid long wait especially on a weekend.

I thought service in affordable restaurants is generally not the best in London, but this place proved me wrong. By far the best service we've received in our whole London stay (About eight restaurant visits in similar price ranges). After a warm welcome, your jackets are stored in a wardrobe for you. Our waiter kindly explained any unclear points on the menu. Before ordering anything, we got poured cold tap water which was repeatedly filled up by the staff during our stay. Even though the service is top notch, the climate is still relaxed and you can joke around with staff, unlike in any posher fine dining places I've been to in the UK. Our steaks and sides were delicious and the cheese cake dessert was outstanding too 😋 10/10 would recommend

I went to Blacklock Soho when on a trip to London for a friend's birthday. We went before our show and had one of the best experiences in a restaurant I have ever had! The atmosphere was fantastic, relaxed and easygoing but still classy enough to dress up for a nice dinner. Our servers throughout the night were Paulina and Lucy who are a credit to the restaurant! Paulina was friendly and knowledgeable and was the epitome of an attentive server! Lucy was also so attentive and made sure we never went without drinks and checked on us throughout the evening. They were both incredibly friendly and made a fuss of our birthday girl without being asked! The food was amazing, the denver steak being one of the most perfectly cooked steaks I've had, the cocktails were well made, especially the lemon drop and the white chocolate cheesecake was fantastic! Everything was really reasonably priced and we will definitely be back!

I had a great experience overall at Blacklock Soho—the ambiance was warm, and the service was excellent. However, I tried the barbecue cauliflower, and it wasn’t quite to my taste. The flavors were overwhelmingly pungent, with an intense garlic presence, and it was far too salty. While I appreciate bold seasoning, this one missed the mark for me. That said, the restaurant itself was enjoyable, and I’d be happy to return to try other dishes.

I had heard all about the famous Sunday roast from Blacklock and knew I needed to try it. I booked it four months in advance and when I went , I was not disappointed at all. I shared the two person roast with another person and at first I was weary about the portion sizes as often with roasts, you never really get enough of the trimmings but I would say at Blacklock, there was plenty given. Starting off with the meats, unfortunately the beef was quite disappointing, it was dry and had no flavour to it but the lamb and the pork was delicious. Although it’s a shame that the beef wasn’t good, it was probably the only downside of this overall good meal. The veg was probably the best veg I’ve ever had from a roast from a restaurant and the potatoes were perfect. Yorkshires were fantastic and so was the gravy, luckily if you want extra gravy, it’s free of charge. You have to order the cauliflower cheese separately but that was nice too. I would say that everything was quite salty but since I like a lot of salt generally , I didn’t mind but if you’re someone who doesn’t like salt then it can be too much for you. The house red wine paired well with the roast and I would say the service was fantastic, all the servers were attentively looking after their tables. After the roast I tried the cheesecake, it was good but nothing special. Overall though , I really enjoyed my meal and experience and would definitely love to come back for their roast.

Be sure to avoid lightning! I ordered two large plates of steak, each plate was 750g and Shenghui was 75 pounds per plate. The key point was that the taste was very average! Medium Rare is hard to bite, the seasoning is only very salty, so you have to buy the sauce separately. Sides are more average, the fries are soft and the beef bone marrow is hard to describe. The service is even more indescribable. Every time he runs away before finishing his sentence, I can't stop him. The environment is in the basement. If the location is arranged under the stairs, congratulations, you will have the feeling that others are walking on your head. The price per person is 30-50 pounds, but unfortunately there are many choices out there that are better than this. Don’t let ratings fool you again.

I had a booking my son made for my 60th birthday. We turned up 10 minutes early. We were parked up on some nasty wooden chairs at the entrance with little or no space. Then basically we were forgotten about. We went back to the desk and after a few awkward moments of the receptionist looking for something we were placed next to the reception desk. I’m afraid I was not going to pay these sort of prices for a second rate experience so we left. The receptionist ruined the whole thing by a complete lack of professionalism.

I ordered a ribeye with the black peppercorn sauce, for my side I selected the chips but the sweet potato was BEYOND delicious! For starters we had the cheese and pickle bites and the mushroom-gravy toast. I ordered an extra dirty martini with gin, one of the best martinis I’ve ever had. Our food was absolutely amazing, their beef is another level and the rest of it not far behind. We had the all in sharered platter. The bottomless gravy was superb and we never had to ask.. it was constantly topped up! Our server was brilliant too, as were all the staff. I'd definitely come back to the Soho one again. If I could give 10 stars (or more) I would. My husband comes here with his friends and they RAVE about it. He’s been saying we should try it for ages. BEST DECISION EVER. We had booked a table for the two of us for Friday 31st January. We were seated immediately by the friendly waiter. We had a sharing platter with lamb, pork, steak (I think that was it) our sides were chips & the broccoli & walnut salad. This also comes with a trio of delicious mouthfuls of joy. Yum. But can I just take a moment here and praise the genius that came up with this slice of heaven that is the broccoli & walnut salad… it was the most delicious thing I have eaten in a long time and I LOVE food. - I will return to this in a bit but… Our waiter was bloody lovely. So attentive, nothing too much trouble and you could see he knew exactly what was happening in ever corner of that restaurant. Absolutely outstanding. I told him how much I loved the salad and he brought us a second bowl. Now, this was at the end of our meal and I was already worried I’d have to be rolled out of the place but as I’m so polite I necked that little beauty. OMG… please never leave here without having this salad. (I’m worrying now that I’ve bigged it up too much but honestly I can’t wait to recreate this). Thanks to our waiter we have a very good idea as to how to make it (THANK YOU 😘) If you have never been, definitely go. If you have half the joy we had you’ll come away full and happy. It really started our day out nicely and lifted us for the rest of the day. I hope the waiter who served us gets to see this review (I’m so sorry we forgot your name. I’m blaming my food coma) Such a superstar. Above and beyond! We will definitely be back for obvious reasons but also as we went out with friends last night who could not believe we didn’t try the cheesecake. (I would have died if another thing had passed my lips) so we will be trying that on our next visit. A decent sunday roast. Make sure to book a table beforehand. To preface, I am not normally a fam of the sunday roast, but I felt I needed to do it properly during my time in the UK. We ordered the sunday roast for two, pictured below. There were slices of beef, pork, and lamb. They were thin, but tender. I quite enjoyed the flavor of the pork - not sure I would get the lamb or steak again. The yorkshire pudding was ordinary. There are a lot of carrots and potatoes, which were flavorful. Dessert was the star of the show. I believe I ordered some sort of bread pudding with ice cream. That was delicious. Very quick and friendly service, and the ambiance is lovely - lots of people seated and chatting away.

I went without a reservation and there were plenty of seats for Wednesday lunch! It was very difficult to order. Maybe it's because I didn't know until I went in. I was shocked because I ate a lot of those 6 canapés, but they were so salty that I was surprised. All of the 6 canapés tasted like a salt party. They cost about 2,500 won each, but I was so surprised that I bit into them (of course, this may be my personal opinion><) The mushroom bread is really delicious, recommended as a starter menu! It was very difficult to order meat per gram, so I ordered steak. My husband and I ordered cab. At first, they said they wouldn't add any sides or sauce, but that's just the basic steak sauce. The meat came out in chunks so I added the sauce later. The server recommended that I add two more, but pepper sauce? It was delicious~~ The meat was really soft and delicious.. The server gave me some kind of bone as a service, and it smelled like garlic and it was quite good to put on top of the meat. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pretty so I ate it and there were a lot of locals eating the hamburgers.

The restaurant is located in the basement, so you have to walk down. The entrance at street level isn’t very big. I went on New Year’s Eve and had made a booking in advance since this place gets quite busy. I ordered the ‘All In,’ which includes a mix of beef, pork, and lamb, along with a choice of side dishes. For me, the lamb and beef were pretty good some pieces were slightly dry and too chewy, but overall, the portion was very generous. Definitely worth it!

My mum's cheongsam was permanently damaged when the waiter's carelessness spilled steak sauce on it. The waiter didn't react when he spilled it on, she just calmly took the plate away and brought some paper towels over to wipe it up without any verbal apologies. Although it ended up giving us a discount on that dinner, I didn't feel any apologies from the staff for damaging the guest's clothes!

The restaurant is in the basement. The roasted beef tenderloin I ordered today was very fragrant, and the roasted cauliflower was also very fragrant. Moreover, this meal was a bit strange to me, and the roasted sweet potato was okay! Because there are so many people in Taiwan who bake sweet potatoes, and they all taste great. The most important thing is the grilled rib-eye steak...the fat is too high, and the greasiness is too heavy to be satisfying! But it’s also the most expensive meal this time! The dish of grilled bone marrow is unflattering! It felt like eating fat and was not very comfortable... The last dessert was satisfying and not too sweet... delicious. The dining environment is too dark, not the type of restaurant we like.

Being it was cold outside , when you walk downstairs to enter the what was a speakeasy back in the day , the coziness and the smell of the restaurant instantly warmed you up. As someone who often grills and eats steak at home, honestly, the steak itself felt ordinary! But it went really well with the salad, and the staff were really, really friendly. I plan to visit again with my friends next week. In particular, even though I went as a walk-in without a reservation, the front desk staff was very kind and helped me get a seat as quickly as possible. I wanted to leave a tip, but the service was so good that I regretted not carrying cash! The workers were really nice, I especially appreciate to Nikos and Jo for their kind explanation and a lots of help. This is my first review, and even first time to ask their name to write on review to say I really appreciate them! The steak was perfectly cooked and really went well with the salad. I really recommend to have two of them together when you order! If there's not much people in there next week Sunday, I'll visit here again with my friends to have Sunday Roast All-in menu.

Great venue, great location, but average food. I was expecting the food to come out piping hot, but was warm. I ordered the lamb and that was very 'gamey', really chewy and coupled with it not being hot, wasnt the best experience. My wife ordered the beef, and hers was very dry! And again, hers didnt come out piping hot. It was a shame as I really like the place. Maybe it was just us who had the experience as the place was full, and there were more customers coming in as we left. We ate there as we really fancied a Sunday roast. The cocktails were the best part. We ordered non alcoholic cocktails and they were delightful! Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend going there if you have experienced amazing Sunday roasts from traditional pubs in the city, or in the countryside.

As an Italian lover of cooking, service, plating and the taste of good food. I can say that this place absolutely does not represent the reviews I read that led me to come for dinner on a Saturday evening. Very good service Pleasant but cramped environment We took "ALLIN" a house mixed meat and two glasses of wine. Welcome comes with some kind of horrible tapas and a compliment! Subsequently, we received a plate with all the meat on top of each other (at a cost of €60) Presentation from elementary school cooking from nursery school. Pleasant wine Good side dishes. (Sweet potato + broccoli salad) Honestly, I would keep €100 in my pocket and prefer to eat Gyoza in Chinatown.

This is only my only opinion.. the Sunday menu was not for me.. i don’t know but i don’t like the meat roast.. its so chewy.. but presentation is good.. maybe next time I’ll try the steaks.. The server though and service is SUPERB.. they are friendly and not arrogant.. they have very nice service from manager to waiter.. 🙏🙏🙏 its just my preference but i like a little more quiet restaurant.. if you like more of loud restaurant with too much people talking then its for you..

Had the joy of tasting Tommi's burgers and it didn't disappoint. Nothing fancy just a simple product made absolutely delicious 😋 the meat was so tender and juicy, you have the option of how you'd like the meat cooked which is a nice option. There was a variety of sauces and toppings that you can choose for your taste buds. I wasn't very fond of the chips but I didn't go there for that !!! So I wasn't disappointed at all. I will definitely be back for another burger 🍔
