I love the food and the ambience. I remember this being a number of different businesses and I love that some features have been retained.

En general, me encanta Blackbird Bakery pero adoro la rama Streatham. Deliciosas comidas y personal increíblemente amable, con exceso de trabajo pero aún sonriente. Definitivamente recomiendo

Our usual cafe was busy this morning so have the Blackbird a try. A really decent latte and oatmeal biscuit. Cheaper than Nero’s. Service was good but our table was a bit rickety. We will definitely visit again.

Revisión vegana: La panadería tiene leche alternativa por la que se le cobra extra, no estoy de acuerdo con esto. Hay opciones de pastel vegano que es una ventaja!

We have been visiting the Blackbird Bakery in Crystal Palace while on vacation. The staff have been friendly and helpful. The pastry and Toasties have been very, very good. Chocolate cake was marvellous. Raisin pastry was delicious. When we sat in for breakfast one day, and a minor delay happened, our server came over and apologised, and offered a free cup of coffee for each of us while we waited. So nice. We enjoy very much walking down to the Blackbird and having our coffee and pastry in the morning! I can highly recommend it.

Such lovely bread. Great coffee, we usually come here to pick up bread and coffee every Saturday. It can take a while sometimes, but worth the wait.

We called here for breakfast on Saturday morning and actually had high hopes after buying goods from Dulwich and Herne Hill shops in the past. Upon arrival there seems a very confusing set up lots of customers just standing up with no clear direction whether anyone should seat you. We eventually took the decision to seat ourselves. A black waitress eventually came and asked us if we needed a menu, we appeared to be more of an inconvenience than welcome. We tried to get someone’s attention to take our order, as did the next table, but no one was forthcoming so I just joined the general shop queue to order. Later I noticed some at the tables had their orders taken but it appears that was the luck of the draw. The staff in the kitchen were very lively singing and dancing to the music and the food was quite prompt. I wasn’t blow away with the food if I am honest especially for the price. A couple of small sausages that were black, homemade beans that lacked any taste, two pieces of bacon (I am using the term two loosely as they were so small), two massive pieces of bread to fill the plate with no butter. The eggs were good. Little things like a cracked bowl to put your used tea bag in, no smile from any server and rather sad premium priced product that lacked a bit of love. I normally use Boyce de Roca higher up the road and sad I didn’t this morning too after this disappointment. My advice is give this place a miss for breakfast, Boyce de Roca represents better value and a much better product.

Love this place. It is a regular stop for us in Hildreth Street for morning coffee or brunch. Great team, good tunes and lively vibe. The coffee is good and the bacon roll is the perfect start to a weekend. Don’t queue in the cold at the other places on the street come in here its great.

I have used this cafe for many years and since the proprietor Ali left it seems to have lost it’s way as on a number of occasions they are advertising dishes on their menu which they no longer prepare or have the ingredients for, therefor they need to update the menu to reflect what is currently available. I have also noticed that the sauce bottles they use have broken lids and could potentially be unhygienic.. A tweak here and there would benefit.

Visited the cafe and really enjoyed the atmosphere and we found the staff to be both friendly and helpful. Definitely plan to visit again.

Here just for drinks while we waited to check in to Premier Inn just round the corner. Service was okay and coffee okay. Seems to be a café /coffee shop to bring your gadgets and look at your screen. Depends upon your point of view whether that is good, bad or indifferent.

We've been here before, maybe a year ago and the experience was good, however on this occasion it was poor. We selected what we wanted from the website menu however when we arrived it was apparent that the website menu was out of date; some of our selections were not on the table menu. Two of our party selected Sausages and mash but there were no sausages so had to select something else. Three of us ordered fish & chips but bizarrely there was no vinegar available. It's the first establishment I've ever been to where you couldn't get vinegar with fish and chips. One of our party ordered a burger which was supposed to have two patties but was more like one and a half. He went to complain about it but nobody came back to us. When paying at the bar I mentioned the burger issue and the guy I was talking to went off to check with the server and he knocked this meal off the bill. I also pointed out that they had missed £60 worth of wine off the bill. He added it on to the bill but I didn't get any thanks for this. Wish I hadn't bothered now. I feel that the main issue however was the demeanour of the staff. Instead of "I'm awfully sorry we've ran out of vinegar" and maybe an explanation of why, it was "we haven't got any vinegar". It wasn't " I'm really sorry, we've had a run on the sausages and there aren't any left" or something like that, it was "we haven't got any sausages", It wasn't "we're really sorry the burger meal wasn't up to our usual standard" or something like that, it was "I've knocked it off the bill". It wasn't "oh, that's really good of you to let us know we'd missed the wine off the bill" or something like that. It was, well nothing really, it just got added to the bill. It was if having customers there was an inconvenience to the staff. There was minimal eye contact, no smiles and avoiding contact with customers as much as possible appeared evident. Wish we had gone somewhere else. We certainly won't be going again. I'm writing this in response to an email from the Nine Elms Tavern saying that my option matters. It will be interesting to see what, if any, response I get to this.

Have been visiting bi-annually for last 3 or 4 years. October 2024 visit very disappointing. Menu has been shortened and made very generic. Decor is tired. Staff are still pleasant but the buzzy ambience and perception of leading the trends are gone.
