Well, it's not exactly a destination pub. It is, however, a genuinely historic building that has been a town centre inn for centuries. Gives out an air of struggling good will, with perpetually low stock but massively helpful staff. Pleasing patio area out the back - and WHAT A PLAYLIST! Tonight was a seamless mix of little-known bluesy, moody, jazzy numbers that kept us going to Shazam for more info. Don't know who compiled it, but props for the choices! We come here for regular catch-ups, mainly for the central location and also for the low-key, no-hassle welcome. Expect little and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Proper locals pub. Great atmosphere in there. First time in, and made to feel welcome.

I arrived at 22.15 to find the pub/hotel closed and locked up. I have tried three times to speak to the owner and am going through the complaints procedure to get my money back. I was left in a place I don’t know in the pitch black.

Lovely little pub and hotel in the center of a small village. Staff were friendly and room was much bigger and better than expected for one above a pub. Shower was good and bed comfortable. Stayed Saturday and Sunday night as an alternative to camping at a nearby festival and had no issues. I booked a room with it's own bathroom. Would recommend.

Once inside the room it was very clean, but step outside into the corridor it was a dump the place hasn't been decorated for years and that goes for the rest of the place. There wasn't a sink plug so I used toilet paper, when I let the water go it forced black stinking water out of the shower trap. Give this dump a miss. One saving grace is the staff are very friendly and helpful.

The beds are clean and comfy. It could do with a revamp and for this I'd say its slightly over priced

If locals fighting, swearing and being threatening to anyone they don't know is your thing then this is the place to be....otherwise avoid. Nothing against owners, feel sorry for them that the people in there are like that.

My wife and I stopped on the way back from a long weekend away in Wales. We stopped off in Leominster and came across this lovely little establishment. We usually use the deli next door but it was closed as it was bank holiday Monday. It was relatively busy but the service was good, we had a sandwich to share, with a coffee each and a cake to share for afterwards. Was all very tasty and surprised to read so many negative reviews going off our experience here.
