Black Rooster Cumbernauld in North Lanarkshire

So I ordered a burger from these clowns. Waited two hours for it like a fool, only for them to not deliver it. Apparently, the concept of "delivery" is too advanced for this place. Had to haul myself down there to grab it like it’s 1995. Thanks for nothing. Then, I finally unwrap the burger, mouth watering and take a bite, and crunch! What’s this? A bone in my chicken burger? Seriously?! Thought I was eating a burger, not playing chicken roulette with my teeth, honestly... Long story short—if you’re into waiting around for food that never shows up and then nearly breaking your jaw when it does, this is your spot. But me? Never again. Get your act together, Blackrooster—or at least learn the difference between a burger and a death trap.

Nice food burrito with extra hot sauce a must, not the cheapest but nice fresh food

Highly recommend if you love chicken and spice! Food is always on point from this location and ready very promptly. If you like a Nando’s then you should definitely try a Black Rooster, but don’t be fooled by matching your spice to Nando’s as it is far hotter at Black Rooster.

First time trying as I’m a Ladz fan and will continue to be I ordered chicken strips and could not eat them it was like chewing bubble gum the sweet potato fries were ok but had better was really disappointed in the onion rings they were really soggy was expecting nice crispy onion rings spent £25 and only my little boy ate the crispy chicken strips which are good I will definitely travel that bit extra to Ladz Coatbridge for better quality food

Way overpriced. If money was no object this place would be ok. You could probably feed yourself. I payed £30 to feed 2 people. I was still hungry directly after eating it. Wasnt worth the money. The crispy salad was a fiver only thing that was worth it since it was fresh healthy stuff

Disgusting hygiene from the guy on the grill , watched him picking his elbow as if it was a scab on it then putting it in his mouth, then scratching his beard & wiping his lips , then to handle the chicken afterwards with his bare hands and no gloves on :( Defo Won't be back

Have had food from them a couple of times. Food is okay. Sometimes has been not the best in regards to the taste. Staff are okay. Wouldn’t go back.

It was my first time trying black rooster. It wasn't for me. Pitta bread covered in sauce and chicken breasts hanging out. It was a nuisance to eat. I prefer Pepe's.

Never review anything on this but took time out my day to say how terrible the food is out this place. Sauce tastes like chemicals and chicken is horribly dry. Gave the place a few tries but seems to get worse and worse. AVOID

Chicken wings are not cooked enough, and the burger is a waste of food, totally tasteless.

2 stars for the food we had, not the whole menu. Every piece of chicken was super dry. Strips extra mild are bland and spicy. Chicken pittas had no salad, and we were unlucky to get a thick piece of chicken raw red inside. Wrap with lemon & mango was really good. Chicken qesadilla with cheese had no cheese or the amount was unnoticeable. Chips were nice, crispy outside and tender inside. Unfortunately they were out of small dips, and oh boy, I should go with any dip to any food there to deal with that dry chicken. IMO quite expensive compare to quality. Stuff were nice. Despite, I'm not going back there.

First time here 100% come again if I'm passing. Burrito was banging chicken wings were even better cold. Need to find one closer to home (any branches near dartford lol) well done guy 10/10

We order chicken grill burger chicken wrap and chicken popcorn for kids everything was fresh hot and tasty really enjoyed the food wanna say thanks for excellent service and fresh food they provide defo will come back again soon

Waited half an hour for 2 burgers, staff were too busy carrying on in the back ground had people come in after me and order and they received their orders before me won't be back

The change to the halloumi burger is disgusting. I won't order from BR now. As a veggie this is the only order I made and I don't know anyone who likes the new sticks in a bun. Lazy

Food great if you get it. Customer service. Rubbish!!! Staff dropped ours on floor and said they would make it again for us. 30mins later, no food. When I asked they had lost the order. Ended up asking for my money back.

Complete and utter rubbish, food tastes horrible. The burger was just bland. Had no salad, no cheese just thier "signature sauce" which gives you dirreoa. Staff seem disinterested and bored.

I went in lunchtime just got in before school kids got in then was bombarded with school kids not one of them wore a mask there was easily over 30+ in while I waited for my lunch. I got a wrap which was disgusting , soggy , chips were cold and staff miserable 1st and last time I will ever visit

Great friendly service ,was my first time there on a Saturday afternoon and got my meal ordered and out of the door in 5 minutes .Was on a hurry that is why I never sat in

Simple menu but tasty, we sat in n ordered quesadilla and hubby ordered buritos both were really good. The chips itself was crunchy outside tender inside. Happy tummy. Good service and friendly staff. Restaurant looks very clean and beautiful minimalist interior design.

Confused - ordered burgers for a change, there’s tick box options available for “No lettuce, no Mayo no tomato” etc but as I wanted all these I left the boxes unticked - guess what? I got no lettuce, tomato or Mayo, is it me or is this just rank? Also ordered sprite but got soda water with a hint of something - will be a while before I go back there I’m afraid

Good service, quick but still good meals. I'm a huge fan of the Peri Peri chips and corn cobs, but not so much of the burgers/chicken. But personal preference more than anything.

Good variety to choose from, tastes like Pepe's with similar spices and good if your looking for something with a little spice. Not 5 star as can be inconsistent with heat of sauces with the same sauce being far hotter one week than the one before.

Ordered 1/4 chicken and fries after being assured it would be plenty for 1. Opened the bag to find one skinny chicken leg with very little actual chicken. Phoned and was advised that you either get 1 breast or 1 leg. How the hell is that fair when the breast is all chicken and I literally had two bites of actual chicken off the leg? Received an apology but no reasoning. Better off spending £7 at KFC, at least you get chicken.

Asked for extra plain wings and they were spicy. Asked for halloumi and got mozzarella other stuff was lovely tho

I love pepes i thought it was going to similar but wasn't. Similar menu choice although the wrap smelt and tasted floral and perfume like. Chips were more like pepper than piri. Clean and modern inside and fresh food just wasnt for me.

Food is amazing , pizza's wow wow wow Chicken wings are huge and a wee bit of heavan, I waited 15 mins for my order . Always hiccups , with a new business , but some people aren't happy unless they're Moaning ! Keep up the brill food and service black rooster , yir dain braw .

Was told to wait outside for my food and I would be called. Waited 30 minus no call went in only to find my food had been lying out and was told aw it was because no one brought over the receipt. No apology nothing. Thank you for my cold dinner. First time I have ordered from here and was looking forward to it but unfortunately your staff changed my views.

Placed my order and wandered over to Aldi, got back to the car and waited patiently for my text or phone call. Waited 40 mins and eventually went back into the shop to be told that "someone had tried to call me" no they hadn't. Food was not as hot as it should be, had to microwave it. Missing my sauces too. No apology, so I won't be back.

Food is OK in here, but please note the food is extremely spicy, not slightly spicy but nuclear hot spicy 🤣🤣🤣 I had the "mild" Chicken and Rice and it really did blow my mouth away, my missus had the "Hot" rice it was absolutely no go way to hot, but nice clean establishment and friendly staff I will definitely try something else next time as I do hear good things about the food.

The food is amazing but since they are quite busy (and due to some technical glitches) there is often a very substantial waiting time.

Absolutely disgraceful. First of all called in to the shop to pick up a menu. Impolitely informed they had ran out of menus, just google it! That should have served as a warning. Finished my shopping and googled the menu. Placed an order to collect, arrived back at the shop to have the same rude person tell me they had no half chickens, asked if they had 1/4 pieces then? Off she trots again and said only strips or butterfly pieces. What takeaway that only sells chicken runs out of it at 4.00 in the afternoon. I would highly recommend retraining said person in basic manners and the manager needs to take a trip to kfc to learn about ordering. Good old KFC didn’t let me down and the service was far superior 😡😡

This Review is from about 15th March at which time Black Rooster was just opened. As other reviews have mentioned we did wait over an hour on our order ,which I put down to it just opening and staff learning the ropes. Our order once we collected it was hot and worth the wait, really tasty and reasonably priced.

Ordered our food and selected ASAP time slot. Then had to wait well over an hour for our food. Extremely rude, impatient and clueless staff. No explanation or apology for our wait. Shocking. Will not be back.

Waited an hour and 20 minutes for my order, simple burger and chips. Phoned the shop after an hour of the order to see if they had even received my order, they state they had and it was ready. I then arrive at the shop to find out my order wasn't even ready. The food itself was lovely but I can say I will not be back!

Ordered few burgers and half a chicken which was very tender and flavourful. Will definitely order again. Be patient as they are very busy, took 30 minutes for my order today, but was worth it.

Don't even bother ordering anything. Over and hour and rude staff! Husband went to collect and was interrupted before he could get sentence out. Not great since newly opened.

Ordered online and headed to the location to wait for a contact, almost 2 hours later someone next to me had a similar situation and went in to ask about what's going on, told that the online ordering is down this evening. Please don't allow online orders and confirmation emails to go through if there's an issue!

We have just had our first Black Rooster meal and must say am very impressed with the quality of the food and service. Looking forward to our next visit
