Was the worst experience of my life think the roast beef got hacked away with a hatchet My fish was frozen when it was catched and bang from the freezer to the plate

Way over priced portions are near nothing worse than a kids meal best avoid this place and the atmosphere is non existent never worth the money ...

Martin & Abby were very welcoming, patient and helpful - especially with my indecisiveness with the menu when ordering! Martin in particular couldn't have been any nicer either when chatting. Wonderland service. Food was also surprisingly very verybgood, I had reservations about a particular item on the menus picture being dressed up just to look nice but what they showed is what arrived. A lovely Perfect experience all around and at a reasonable price. Thanks all!

Steaks we're good ( had 3 different ones) along with a chicken burger. All food was good, probably one of the better green kings we've been to.

Was there today for a roast turkey dinner there was 2 pieces of dried turkey which looked as though it was sliced of a turkey roll, got it changed still 2 slices veg and roast potatoes should I say not whole potatoes but halved and quartered about one and a half of medium potatoes, not happy been going for years time to try somewhere else very disappointing.

Brilliant service! Unfortunately I can't remember my server's name. My family and I visited one or two months ago. We'd been before a couple of years before, and I wasn't keen to go back, but it was much improved. Great family-friendly pub restaurant. Food okay (not amazing; couple of vegan options though...and not just a vegan burger!), place was busy, and service was excellent. Also good for young kids...they have colouring packs. Cbeebies was also showing (mute) on TVs at each table - could be a good or bad thing. Good value. Ample free parking. Convenient...just off the A8 next to bowling and cinema. Would go back with family.

Visited tonight with family. Had the mix up with rump steak. The steak was so tough that my steak knife wouldn't go through it never mind my teeth. It came floating in water on a skillet with soggy tasteless veg. Grandson had a burger which tasted off. The steak and burger were wrapped in a tissue and put in the bin. All in all a very unpleasant experience that I won't be repeating.

Took my mother and mrs here for a meal as it was there birthdays today and i Hate to say this as I have always praised this place. The food quality has declined so much recently and today was the last straw, it was disgusting...the lentil soup was like dirty water and tasteless.... chicken was over cooked same as the fish,the batter on the fish was so hard my mum couldn't cut it and they brought out the wrong food for my child...after today we won't be back.

Clean and welcoming, food was okay. Plenty of seating.

Great service!!. We've all been to this type of place. Cheap grub and a few drinks. Barrbridge is one of those places. Food was pretty good. Sunday roast for £10 and a full plate. Good selection of drinks and a full menu and one for the kids. Plenty of parking. The service. It's nice to see people smile at work and be friendly. Welcoming guests not customers. Even asked if we had any dietary requirements when ordering. Order at the bar, drinks and food brought to the table. Pretty busy but food was out in no time.. Not really into this type of place but yeah, I'd go back for more

I go to the barrbridge with my family quite often, maybe twice a week … staff are so friendly and are always out checking to make sure there customers are always happy and have everything they need , food is always served quickly and is delicious, my kids are really fussy eaters and they never complain they love it , great atmosphere and amazing prices , thank you

Good food and service at a reasonable price

The visit was exceptional, ordering through the app was so easy and the service was fast and staff so friendly.

My recent visit to the restaurant was pleasant, the restaurant itself was kept in good standard and the staff were pleasant and helpful. For our meal my partner and I both had the 12oz gammon which was delicious I would definitely recommend to family and friends. We visit frequently and haven't been disappointed yet.

Food is usually decent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Service is fast Has free parking.

I haven’t been here in a while but it’s definitely got much better. Service was absolutely fantastic, very child friendly and food was lovely. Pricing is reasonable too. Great place for families with young kids!

Great wee place food is a big let down, burgers aren't 100% beef, chicken overcooked terrible chips. Staff were great though tis a shame lovely wee place.

It was a late lunch for us, so not many in. Staff very friendly. Ordered and received food and drink ok and all good.

Only gave one star so I could leave a review. Food was lukewarm, kids veg was dried out and definitely past its best. Dirty plates sat in front of us for 30 mins before we had to ask for them to be cleared for dessert. Usually quite a decent meal but extremely disappointed today.

Very nice food all delivered hot and tasty! Seemed a little short staffed but they all did a good job. Excellent value and plenty of gluten free options.

Hate writing reviews where it's negative both towards the product that's being sold and the staff providing a service. Never been before and wish I had seen the reviews before booking, we were greeted and shown to our seats and thats where the customer service stopped. Were shown our seat with a "there you go" and then left to work out what to do, is it table service, is it order at the bar, is there an app, any specials ? Not sure after sitting for half an hour went to the bar and ordered, after seeing other people at the bar,after another half hour we got our lukewarm meal. I had Sunday Roast, should of been called Sunday Damp, everything was just soggy, roast potatoes were soft and like warm, the time it took to get the meal I thought the veg would of been soggy and over cooked, however undercooked and room temperature, the gravy was ok and the only redeeming feature was the beef was tender, cool but tender. Presentation and quality has a lot to be desired, veg looked old and past best when it came to carrots and green beans. The Tikka Masala looked like reheated jar sauce, few pieces of chicken, again lukewarm. Steak pie was ok, and chips were cooked frozen chips with ballbearing peas. Drinks order which was only 3 glasses came and th ice was half melted, time taken or recycled ice I don't know. Staff looked like they had been beaten down so much by the reviews and feedback they were ready to give up. Can't really rate service as showing me to my table and taking a card payment is not really a service I should be greatful for. Really disappointed, next time I'll probably pop to McDonald's next door, quicker service, hot food and cheaper....which is saying alot as I don't like McDonald's 😭

Food is like cardboard I had a burger and fries burger was more like a flip flop than a burger chips were undercooked lucky if I ate 7 of the portion Mac and cheese is microwaved so again very underwhelming for the prices they charge ur better spending a extra couple pound elsewhere and getting actual food won’t be going back also reading through other reviews seem like staff have been making fake accounts to boost the rating absolutely disgusting

Was in Sunday 8th September for roast dinner absolutely disgrace roast potatoes were reheated roast beef was very tough dinner on whole very poor so unfortunately I'll will not be returning and will recommend to anyone.

Great place to go with my kids. They have a really fun climbing area with slide for kids outside that's secure just double check the gate as people leave it open. Once it's properly closed you can't get out and need staff. They also have indoor arcade machines for kids to play so bring some pound coins I always forget! My kids love going here and have a great time. The price isn't too bad and we are a family of 5, we get a plate of smashed burgers and chips and that feeds myself and my kids! The food has always been nice. We love the chicken wings!! Can order through an app from your table if you would rather not go up to order your food which is a blessing when you have young kids. They have colouring in also if you ask the staff before being seated! Definitely our top family restaurant that we always go to!

Got seated at our table first thing we noticed the table was very sticky that should have been a sign for us that the food wouldn't be good. So my partner ordered a mixed grill when it came the steak was like a piece of charcoal so he returned it. When we got it back the steak was full of gristle, the sausages he couldn't cut with his knife, chicken breast was like rubber very dry. The best bit was the gammon steak. Wont be back and I did complain and got full refund for mixed grill.

Sets the bar! And then some. I came here recently before I went to the cinema for a bite to eat and I was not disappointed. Coming in to the Barr-Bridge I was made to feel very welcome by the staff who were so friendly and accommodating. There was a terrific atmosphere in the restaurant itself and I was served immediately. To start with I had the crispy chicken strips which were cooked to perfection, the meat was tender and was absolutely magnificent. Following this, I had the “smokin’ Jack” burger which was absolutely phenomenal with an astonishing accompaniment of “cheesy chips” I was pleasantly surprised with how efficient and delicious the food was. The highest of compliments must be given to the bar, kitchen and waiting staff of the restaurant. But the real star of the show, was a charismatic, passionate and dedicated manager by the name of David. As the restaurant grew busier, it is understandable and not uncommon for staff (especially management) to crack under pressure. However, with David that was not the case. He worked efficiently, effectively and with excellence in the fast paced environment. For the time he had to chat to me we discussed our tattoos and music taste which turned out to be very similar which was great. Cannot sing this man’s praises anymore. His dedication to the hospitality sector is inspiring and sets the bar for those who aspire to be in this industry. To put it bluntly, the Barr-Bridge SETS THE BAR.

The staff is very friendly, food nice and fresh , you always welcome with warm smile, fish and chips is delightful, or you could have various curry options , disabled entrancw and spacious car park , also there’s cinema near by

After years of going here midweek I have to say that I was extremely disappointed that we were turned away at the door this evening especially seeing how quiet it was . The reason given albeit the place was not busy was that the kitchen was overwhelmed with orders ? The restaurant was clearly not even 25% capacity.. I somehow think there may have been an alternative reason or staff shortage… disappointing considering how loyal we have been to this site since it opened

Food was ok just bang average, staff members who brung our meal/drinks were pleasant. When we arrived there wasn’t a great choice of tables as many of them hadn’t been cleared or cleaned.

So after a company of 4 people stayed to watch a football match and ordered food and numerous drinks, a girl who brought our drinks over to the table (whom I found out from the management was 16 yrs old) was moaning about her job. After listening to her, my husband jokingly said to her "oh do you need a hug?" 5 minutes later a member of staff came over and told us that the girl was upset. One minute later a member of management was at our table telling us that the girl was deeply upset by my husband's comment and that her dad works in the kitchen (no idea why that should matter) and that we were to finish our drinks and leave the premises. I'm sorry but after many visits to this establishment over the years and the money we spent, not just from this visit, I was outraged. To be honest my husband and I have a 23 year old daughter and he would have been disgusted if he thought he had deliberately upset this girl. In my opinion, she's in the wrong job if she can't take banter ( bar work) and I was disappointed in the management for asking us to leave and not realising that this was an off the cuff comment and in no way was meant to be harmful to the young girl.

Your quality of food is a hit or a miss, we only had a main, portion sizes are great, the price is reasonable. Sadly I won't be rushing back anytime soon.

We are regulars at the Barrbridge and are always greeted enthusiastically. The menu has a good variety and the food is served quickly and hot.

We nipped in for lunch and a catch up with a few mates. We got a table easily enough. The ordering was fine and 3 out of 5 of us got our food fine. But 2 of the party had to go up and ask for their food after all of us were almost finished. We felt like our food got chucked down in front of us. The food was fine. Not amazing but edible. Would go back as a meeting place again.

Like this place for a little light bite and a couple of drinks the bar area is the best to sit if you don't want to around kids , the food is nice nothing fancy the typical pub grub after work on a Friday if you want a burger and chips and a pint go for it 😀

awful, changed booking time ( got name of person who confirmed ) change. When I arrived had been marked as no show, still got table but got told we only had short time, ordered drinks at bar, food came before drinks, still eating starters and main meals came, they took them away but then returned same ones stale and cold and hard , my sunday roast which says on menu - all come with various things inc vegies had no vegies, I asked and was told the one I had ordered didnt come with vegies, the meat was chewy and fatty but it was prob chewy as it had been sitting while we finished our starters, I didnt touch it pretty much and the person who picked it up didnt even comment on it. I took my hubby, daughter her partner and my other child and i was actually embarrassed I had chosen this place - will never ever return

It can be a bit hit and miss here at times but not yesterday. Staff were super efficient. We were 6 adults and 4 children. Not one complaint re food and this was starters, mains and dessert. Food is lovely and there's a good choice to suit most taste buds.

My husband and I were here for a relaxing breakfast, only to hear Irish rebel music blaring from the kitchen and kitchen staff sing very loudly. I was sat around 25-30 feet away and I could hear it clearly. I deeply offended my religious beliefs and made my family and I feel very uncomfortable. I will never take my family or friends here again as I wouldn’t want to put anyone through this amount of bigotry within this establishment.

Some food cold,, chips over cooked,,,peas cold,, but I forgave all that because of the lovely barman that served us when ordering our food and drinks.. He said my house wine choose was good and he was right I even had a second glass.. I never got his name but he was tall,slim, with black hair.. made us laugh when we were at bar ordering..

I have been here many times and have recommended to family and friends .the food and service is excellent .Elaine the manager and Erin the assistant manager are very welcoming and friendly .There has never been an occasion where I have never experienced this .I would absolutely recommend the Barbridge to anyone who enjoys good,reasonably priced food .you won't be disappointed
