A pretty good restaurant, value for money. There is a 2-course menu for 20 pounds and they let us share that menu for 2 people. Fish and chips and barbecue wings Everything is very rich

We ended up here before watching MJ the musical because the original restaurant we'd booked were having kitchen problems (no gas or electric) & couldn't confirm that we'd be served in time. We came across Bistro 1 and were so glad we did!! Food was good sized portions and tasty, 3 out of our group of 4 had the 2 course menu at £18, great value with the bill equalling out to £26.50 per head including drinks. Staff friendly with a lovely atmosphere & I love the light fittings. I would definitely seek this place out again when in London.

The most delicious food. Given free olives and garlic bread, I've been here several times and haven't been disappointed. Each element of the meal was delicious. Houmous, and Moussaka and rice were so tasty. The avocado prawn starter was lovely as was the iced coffee.

I can't talk for the lunch or dinner menus but the breakfast is abysmal. Everything was cold, rubbery and didn't taste fresh at all. They had no tea, the coffee tasted like soap, my fryup had a chipshop sausage, and eggs like rubber. My wife's eggs royal was on sliced white bread, and the hollandaise tasted of mature cheddar, and the smoked salmon tasted days old. The young lad serving seemed quite shocked that I was disparaging about their breakfast.

No to big but service and food excellent not to pricey either..

Just had drinks with friends so cannot comment on the food. The location is great, right at the heart of Soho. Drinks are more reasonable than other places in the area. Service was good too.

The lights inside was what really caught my attention in Bistro 1. The waiters were great with a sense of humour. I ordered fish and chips which included a drink - food was average. Chupa Chup lolly is given to customers after they finish their meal 😊

i have had a bad experience overall, i was literally pushed out when i tried to get in because apparently it was fully booked even when i had a booking but no one even asked first just dashed me out, when that was solved, i ordered the 3 course deal while waiting for my friend. the starter looked like it was made in bulk as the “crispy” potatoes was soggy and the main was missing some ingredients that was described on the menu (the grilled salmon) the banoffee pie as dessert was actually good. and there was a waitress there that was kind enough to deserve the optional service charge otherwise i’d have taken out.

Found that place by accident last night.Even though the place was really busy, what we can only assume was the owner, went out of his way to make us a little sheltered table outside ready, the waiter and waitresses were so friendly, fast and genuinely nice, even though they were rushed of their feet, they were simply perfect. The menu is fantastic, there really is something for everyone and its really great value for money. The food itself was lovely, a great portion and tasty.I speak on behalf of my wife as well, we can only recommend this lovely place and we will be back, the next time we're in the West End.

During our frequent business trips to England, we sometimes have difficulty finding restaurants that suit our taste. Bistro 1 in the London Soho area has become our permanent address with its delicious food, affordable prices and the friendliness and sincerity of the owner. Thank you to the whole team in the person of Mr. Tuncay (TJ) for the taste, hospitality, price and friendliness, we will be there soon as a team, reserve our corner :))

Whilst reading here, I am very surprised of the negative reviews a bit eccessive to be honest. I have been coming to Bistro1 since a long time, where I always enjoy my bacon burger with spicy chips. The quality of the meat is great and so is the bang for the buck. By the way, I am Italian so generally demanding about food.

Terrible food. Fish and chips straight from the freezer. Overcooked burger and underdone fries. The cook wouldn't just take back the burned burger cause apparently it was meant to be overcooked and dry. The table next to us experienced overcooked food as well.

I have been eaten at this restaurant for many years. Yesterday after a while I went back and it was a different environment, different staff too. I think they are trying to make it posher and failing miserably. I asked for bread twice and I was served 4 tiny stripes of bread with oil. Portions are so small now. If I asked for a drink I don't want to remind the waiter twice either. Bistro was a 5 star now I can only give 2.

Travelling from America and we just so happened to walk by! I loved the mixed kebab plate, but by far the lamb meatball is so perfectly flavored and the seasoning is out of this world. The service is literally the best part though. So attentive and so kind. I think the bad reviews are just people who can't find the good or the gratefulness in anything.

Catastrophic! Avoid for school groups... 30 minutes at the table time in hand... the students' plates are removed even though they have not finished their dishes. We ate in the basement, no direct light, no windows, no ventilation… We are pushed out to make way for another group. A shame !!

we arrived and were rudely welcomed into the downstairs lounge. they told us to sit down quickly and started bringing the plates in a very disorganized and confusing manner. the chicken was served haphazardly, the sauce was very gelatinous, the purée had a whitish color and the peas were hard and plasticky. all served on dirty and smelly plates. the cutlery was greasy and visibly dirty. it took them a long time to bring a fork, even though it was within reach. the cheesecake was pitiful, the jam was slimy and a strange colour. When asked to take the cake away, they did so, but took it to another customer directly. we also found some hair inside. at a certain point during dinner they lit a joint, which made the whole place smelly, which was already very smelly. Under the tables there were broken and dirty glasses. the waitresses were grumpy, and when they saw most of the dishes being returned they got annoyed and started making jokes. the bathroom was all greasy and full of hair on the toilet and in the urinal.

The service is terrible, no time to eat. We got thrown out after 15 minutes. The food is disgusting as is the cleanliness. No hello or goodbye. The waiters attack you as soon as you finish your plate. The toilets are dirty with a bathroom smell.

Our experience here was actually perfect. Not often you can say that about a place! The ambience was lovely, lamps are gorgeous and the music was really cool! The staff were attentive, friendly and generous. Service was not rushed at all but just right for pre theatre dining. The value was excellent and all that positivity before we even get on to the food! We had olives, bread, calamari and the mixed meze and then the goats cheese pancake and halloumi salad and the apple tart tatin. Everything was fresh, delicious, perfectly cooked, great balance of the different accompaniments to each dish. Will absolutely be heading back next time we’re in town, great location for theatre too!

Superb place where Mediterranean cuisine is a delight between Lebanese and Greek cuisine and a good burger Vegetarian you will enjoy the portions are generous, I'm still salivating

A lovely find. The other reviews were right. Excellent location for dinner before a show. The food was fairly priced and delicious. Excellent service by attentive waiters. We also asked for Turkish tea which wasn't on the menu and this was gifted to us. Service was prompt. The apple tartin was good!

The food was subpar, the salads were just drenched in their salad sauce which I did not enjoy, I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken main but I’m not sure whether it was the Chicken Curry or not. The sauce was watery and chicken was rough. Definitely not sure why it’d rated so highly.

Been coming here for over a decade. Food, service, staff, prices superb! Great atmosphere and have often spent hours in here just drinking and chatting after food. Planning another load of visits soon! Steve B..

There was almost nothing meditation in this restaurant. On every dish there was an english touch. A lot of the food was frozen food like calamari, fries-cheap stuff. There was nothing to make me come back again. This is definitely not what it should be for Mediterranean cuisine.

Came in on the off chance they had a free table, luckily for us they did. The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful, service fantastic which gives the Bistro a wonderful ambiance. Food lovely, very generous portions! Definitely worth a visit.

I don’t know why this place has such high ratings, the food was terrible and we were sat next to the bathroom which emitted a horrible smell every time the door was opened. The chicken skewers were unseasoned and the lamb shish was so hard and firm, it was like eating a rock made of meat. Both of these dishes were even recommended by the server! The chicken shish was equally as bad. Some of the rice was all clumped together as well. I am very sad it cost £20 for this pitiful meal.

Bad services, the team here was quite offensive and the fish and chips also tasted like a frozen one, definitely not the traditional one that they wrote on the menu.

Me and my wife came from Leeds to see Harry Potter and we were looking for somewhere to have some dinner between shows. This is a lovely little place. Not badly priced and the food was fantastic. I had the fried brie amongst other things and I'm in love. The staff were very friendly and made sure we were looked after. Definitely will come back next time we're catching a show

Food was disgusting. Senior center cooks better. The convenience dessert was weighed. I don't know how it could be made worse. Ambiance very cozy. “Could” be a great restaurant: COULD. But so far the worst thing I've eaten in London, I've been working here for 2 weeks and went out to eat every day...

Had a quick lunch there and it was great! Decided to go for the 2 course meal and for the price, it was very good; the food is fresh and the lamb meatballs were amazing! The staff was also very nice which is always a plus. Overall, this is a great restaurant with reasonable pricing and great quality food.

Very impressive! Three-course dinner for £21, they were able to fit our entire group of ten people at a nice table on the lower floor, everything was tasty. (I recommend the meze or falafel starter.) I'm still not sure what "banoffee" is (there was no toffee or coffee in the pie) but it was tasty!

A TARDIS of a restaurant, manages to fit many covers, including the basement. We have been visiting for over 20 years and have never had any complaints, as the staff have always been so friendly and helpful. We love the menu, which is Turkish/ Mediterranean, with plenty of choices, including vegetarian meze. Have always found the food booked very nicely.

This is such a Soho gem. Quickly served, affordable food, and lovely staff. It's not the fanciest restaurant in town, but it's one of our favourites. Not many restaurants like this left in zone one.

Very good value. No issues of any sort food wise. Very quick service. Ideal for pre theatre meal. Wide ranging menu at a fixed price.

The main dishes have too small portions. My beof bourguignon did not taste good, and I don't recommend it. At least, during my visit on 22 December 2023, lunch time, two waiters of the shift were so busy chatting (flirting) that it was difficult to get them to take order or serve. For two two-course meals, costing less than £34, they charged me £4.30 for optional service fee, which was not actually optional and was added to the price on pose machine without asking. The location is good, but I won't return.

Such a gem of a place! The most excellent food, incredible (and SUPER SPEEDY) service, lovely staff, beautifully clean and everything was really well priced. Couldn't recommend enough!

Haven't been for a long, long time but still good value and very tasty food. Shame you didn't still do the stuffed apricots for dessert.

Took my team here for our office Christmas lunch today. Great home cooked food, lovely service, quick, delicious and only £16.90 per person. This place has always been a favourite of mine for a hearty meal before a night out and I’m glad to find it’s still as good as it was.

Eravamo attaccati gli uni agli altri,nessuna privacy,nessuna possibilità di scambiare 2 parole senza farsi ascoltare da tutti.Un minimo di distanza di cortesia sarebbe auspicabile e indice di rispetto!

Been here many times and went on Saturday 9th Dec, we both had Mezze to start which was lovely and Chicken Kebabs for main, sadly some of the chicken was not cooked properly and on our trip home my partner was unwell and we both wake up to stomach cramps and not feeling well. We did mention about the chicken to be told “I’m sorry” - make the sure the chicken is cooked properly!!!!

Nous avions une réservation pour un groupe. Les desserts ont été servis alors que nous étions à la moitié du plat principal. Puis le personnel a urgé tout le monde de finir vite et de s'en aller sous prétexte qu'ils avaient accepté une réservation pour un autre groupe derrière nous. On s'est donc fait pousser vers la sortie après environ 45min dans le restaurant... Une honte, un scandale et une arnaque. Plus jamais.

Worst food I’ve ever eat I felt sick for 2 days after it would not recommend it to anyone ever

Stopped in for a lunch - food was ok (meat was way overcooked and generally nothing to write home about). However, the service was good, the staff very pleasant. Would I go back - no.

We decided to have our drinks here post-dinner. Honest to goodness their cocktails were def the best so far within soho. There is more alcohol than juice which is the usual with other restaurants. Even tho we ordered drinks only, they served us bread and olives. Can I just say their service was on point 🙌 will def come back hopefully to try their food.

For it's value, this place is amazing for London. Really attentive and friendly staff, big food portions and convenient location. Would really recommend for a pre Theatre bite to eat for example.

Whilst I only had a drink here, the staff were amazing friendly and we ended up having a very nice conversation after the staff guessed my perfume. The atmosphere here is very authentic and this looks to be a nice place to eat. I will most certainly be back for food one day. There was an optional service charge added to the bill.

Avoid the “house wine”. It’s moonshine/goon at best.

If you want a prime soho restaurant at around £20 a head for a 3 course meal, this is your place. Lovely food and staff are so friendly and good service. The owner TJ knew my mum is allergic to onions and garlic and went himself to make her a meal, and the way I like my food. Great place for prior theatre or meetings. I definitely be coming back again.

An original Soho spot. Not many left...

First, food was okay, staff friendly. But they over shot their capacity. When we sat down at our table, the stampede began. A group of 40 people crowded the door, apparently they had a reservation, but there was just no room. The effect was, the front door stayed open during our whole meal, staff running behind me, talking over our heads with each other. And constantly ppl walking behind me in the small corridor. The restaurant looks nice, but this was our worst London experience.

The food is okay. Starter lukewarm. When we were just sitting down, a group of Spaniards (or groups, it was unclear, but 40 people) came to the door. This was clearly agreed upon, but the amount of people was absolutely inappropriate. The restaurant was small and people in the group continued to crowd the door and into the restaurant. Staff running back and forth. Very restless and unprofessional. We left the place as quickly as possible. Nice lampshades.

We went there to have drinks and food but they suddenly brought the bill before we order food. Turkish tea was awful and the staff weren’t friendly. Would not recommend.

I’m in LOVE. My friend & I are touring Europe and we stopped here before a show, the streets were a little busy but we were the only table. The prices (2 courses for £19, 3 for £21) seemed cheap so I wasn’t expecting to be blown away… but this meal was sensational. (We got salads, bourek, lamb, Mediterranean chicken, apple tart.) The owner stopped by our table and was extremely kind, as well as the chef. He brought over a freshly prepared sauce and spooned it from the saucepan onto our plates. It was so bright and flavorful, I would’ve eaten it by itself! The apple tart with custard was the best apple dessert I’ve ever had. Our server was very sweet, he even brought us coffee on the house. I’m planning a trip to Turkey because of this meal.

Arrived just before a large tour group of loud obnoxious people which spoilt our visit. Good food though. No staff available to do cocktails which wasn't great. Tables too close together, about an inch from my chair to one behind.

Simple and efficient if you want a quick and cheerful meal before you embark to theatre land . Food was good, service was good, and it didn't break the bank.

One of the best places to get affordable good food in Soho. The general atmosphere of the place is great , normally playing good tunes and the food never misses. Also great for anyone wanting to work. Staff are all extremely friendly and everyone in general is just good vibes

The service was wonderful the food mediocre and not acceptable given what it costs to dine out these days. I was being generous with 2 stars. Just a a pity as the staff where great. The food was bland and tasteless and description of medditrean was very inaccurate sadly.

Been to this restaurant twice before with no issues, visited again on 12th August with great expectations, our order was taken we were given a glass each of water (jug taken away) was given a very small pot of olives (usually given olives & bread) then our main meal arrived, we hadn't had our starter yet when we complained they brought out our starter so we ate them at the same time very poor service, then they had the audacity to add on a service charge. Hopefully just a bad night on their part
