Great experience for a special occasion. Generous portions and good sized glasses of wine.

Warm welcome from Omar af reception, great food choices and a relax, yet smart feel. Room was amazing and all the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend it. The courtyard is a hidden gem in the middle of the city.

We went a week today and I'm only waiting this review now as only felt better in the last day or so. When we got there. There was no one to welcome us. After waiting in a room with one table that was occupied this was disappointing. After working in this industry for over 10 years I thought this was poor. As we had high expectations but yet was let down with in 5 minutes of getting there. Then we was told to collect our own starters. 3 of our group of 6 had prawns. We all had other different things apart from 3 all had them. One of us made a complaint that it taste funny and only eat the one. Then after we had to ask for the 2 people that was on for drinks each time. After eating starters and mains no one asked if food was OK! Then why we started to eat mains we asked for more gravy. This did not come we had to ask 3 times before it arrived and we had finished eating. At the end of the main the table was slow to be cleared. When we was asked if we want pudding we said no thanks as was full. They then repeated are you sure you don't. We said no thank you so no for pudding no. Are you sure! 3 times after initially asking if we wanted one. For this 300 pound bill the customer service was bad and after having time off work for illness after becoming ill after 3 hours it definitely wasn't worth it. Really the food shouldn't be left out at room temperature with out a cold plate or ice bath considering it had a lot of fish and cold meats. Poor and disappointing and definitely payed the price.

Lovely anniversary meal here, nothing was too much trouble. Wine pairing was great and Ben was very knowledgeable. Will come back

Came for a Sunday lunch and it was great, market table with a selection of cold meats, salads and the soup was great. Could have spent my whole time going back and forth form there. I had beef and it was so tender! Will definitely be back

cosy atmosphere. the dishes lacked flavour, which is a shame. the service was ok. the experience was therefore satisfactory but could be better with more tasty dishes.

We had the vegan taster menu, five courses each paired with an amazing glass of wine. The whole meal was sensational! Portion sizes were just right so we felt full but not fit to bursting! The food was delicious, especially the chocolate mousse which tasted heavenly. Our waitress Silvia was great, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about each wine she served. The restaurant wasn't busy and had a quite laid back feel to it. We couldn't fault our experience and are delighted to have discovered Bistro at Hotel Du Vin.

Booked for Sunday lunch. Food was good overall but the service from the maitre d was absolutely shocking. We were left waiting for our initial drinks for over half an hour. We then waited again whilst he took our order. The starters are self-service but a good spread of charcuterie, salads, seafood and fresh bread. The roast beef was tasty with a nice selection of vegetables. Once our dinner plates had been cleared we were given the dessert menus. He never returned to take our order. Even though the restaurant was not busy and he could see us all sitting there with large open menus. Instead the adjacent table had their order taken, desserts delivered and consumed whilst we were still waiting. The next adjacent table had wine brought and he stood chatting to them for the next 15mins. At this point we requested the bill from another waitress and asked that any service charge be removed. We spoke to her about the issues and she was clearly embarrassed by how we had been treated. This was relayed to the gentleman in question who then disappeared from the dining room rather than having the decency to come and apologise for his behaviour. Clearly if you’re a regular here you are treated in a different way! We were here to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and it was probably the worst service that we’ve ever had. Such a shame. We were in the restaurant for over 2 hrs and only managed 2 courses because of all these delays. Being made to feel like second class citizens was a wholly unpleasant and unacceptable experience.

This was such a disappointment having been to other hotel du vins in past! This was a special occasion and 80 th birthday lunch! The so called French market was a disgrace full of display nothing like we had experienced at other hotel during vins … It was so poor we could have left on site On arriving at the hotel bistro it was only half lit as though in semi darkness which was a comment on the whole experience in the French market the were about 8 plates of food including 2/4 salads and no smoked salmon left till we asked for some . No charcuterie till we asked for refill awful! The service was good led by Bengy But it never made up for very average food! We will not return ever …..

Really nice meal, excellent Bordeaux by the glass, scallops and steak cooked to perfection. Only reason I give 4 stars is that the muscles were a bit gritty. Will definitely be back!

I accidentally left a £50 love to shop voucher on the table from our Christmas do… and I rang them to see if this was handed in… but obviously they said there wasn’t anything left on the table. 100% a waiter or waitress has nabbed this voucher and not admitting to this pocketing themselves £50… thieves… I would never trust this place ever again!

Once again a very enjoyable evening at Hotel Du Vin. Delicious food, great wine and wonderful service from our gorgeous waitress Sylvie! Sylvie remembered us from our last visit and is a real joy to speak to! Thank you once again for a wonderful evening.

Good value, lovely setting, wine with tasting menu and explanation excellent but the food required a bit more attention.

We had a lovely roast sirloin of beef Sunday lunch today, generous thick large slices of pink beef (choice of pink or well done) lovely giant Yorkshire pudding with a selection of vegetables and more available if you ask! But the show stopper is the excellent market table starters help yourself to soup, bread selection, salads, pickles, both smoked and poached along with prawns and a selection of charcuterie meats, soup ! (You can have as much as you wish)

I celebrated my birthday at Hotel du vin and I was very impressed with the service. It was a great evening and a source of future happy memories.

Over ten years since I was last here, but it’s just as good. Very good meal, enhanced by outstanding, attentive service from Joshan and his colleagues and especially by his well informed, cultured and thoughtful wine recommendations. An excellent meal. A far cry from the sister restaurant in Harrogate where we recently walked out without eating because of inattentive service. They could learn a lot from you!

We attended a steak and red wine evening, organised by the Birmingham wine school. It was an excellent evening spoilt only by the blunt knives provided by the hotel. It was almost impossible to cut into what was actually a nice piece of meat. It was quite embarrassing as we were a mixed group sharing a table, and no one really wanted to complain.

Eftersom vi bodde på hotellet bestämde vi oss för att äta middag i restaurangen en kväll. Servicen var i det närmaste perfekt, men jag blev lite besviken på deras urval av öl. Endast Heineken på fat. Vi båda beställde deras "Confit Duck Leg", eftersom vi älskar konfiterad anka. Tyvärr blev vi väldigt besvikna eftersom ankan var alldeles för salt, kanske beroende på att det fanns stora bitar av pancetta (mycket salt) i rätten.

Meeting a friend for early supper who'd travelled from overseas we thought Hotel du Vin would be a good place to dine. When looking to book online it showed no availability at all on a Wednesday night at 6pm. I phoned the restaurant and was told they could fit us in at 6.15pm. On arrival we were the only diners and the place was empty apart from a private function going on in one of the rooms so am unsure why there were no spaces to book in the restaurant unless they had insufficient staff. The waiter took our wine order and returned with 2 glasses of tepid slightly fizzy white whine - not at all what we were expecting. When he returned for our food order we asked for ice for the wine so he offered to change it. the new wine was much better -chilled and still. Our food was average - sea bass with potatoes - and all evening there were only one other couple who dined. We retired to the bar also very quiet where cash payments aren't possible and had a drink. The waiter told us the restaurant was empty as a booking for 120 had been cancelled... strange. Used to dine here regularly but won't be rushing back as there is so much competition in central Birmingham.

Stayed in the hotel for a business trip. The bar was full at 6.45pm with no spare seats so I went straight to the bistro for dinner. Really super service. Friendly, relaxed environment. The food was delicious, large serves and well presented. Breakfast in the morning had a cold and hot selection. For the hot selection, you order from the menu. For the cold selection, there is a buffet of everything you would expect, fruit, cereals and pastries, juice and coffee. Really good quality food. Recommended.

Fabulous dinner at Hotel du Vin. Tuna Nicoise and Steak Hache were superb. Stefan from Georgia was a magnificent host, suggesting some tremendous wines to go with the food. We tried the English Bolney Estate white wine and their sparkling rose (both great!) and a really likeable Uruguayan dessert wine, plus a very decent Offley rose port. Stefan was such good fun and the food was brilliant. We had a lovely evening. You don't come across the Stefans of this world often enough- very knowledgeable and a wonderful person to make you feel at home.

A returning guest at HDV Birmingham at the weekend. It continues to demonstrate excellent standards. The staff are wonderful and in particular the bar manager and Jordan( made great cocktails) who went the extra nine yards to accommodate us when we thought the bar area was full. I will definitely go back if only for the comfort of the lovely beds.

We attended this restaurant as a reward for my husbands hard work. It was much better than expected with a nice atmosphere and excellent food. There was also excellent service and very kind and knowledgeable waiters 12.5% discretionary tip

Apareció aquí más con esperanza que expectativa durante el período EOTHO. Nos sorprendió gratamente conseguir una mesa en el elegante comedor. Los procedimientos seguros de Covid se toman en serio aquí, y el servicio fue cortés y eficiente. Había un vino Languedoc excelente y de buena relación calidad-precio en la extensa lista. Ambos somos grandes admiradores de la sopa de cebolla francesa y no nos decepcionó. Muy caliente y de buena consistencia con un gran crutón cubierto de queso. Para platos principales tuvimos el Cassoulet, de nuevo muy caliente y una porción de buen tamaño. Mi única queja fue que se habían utilizado frijoles horneados en lugar de los tradicionales blancos. I dashed in out of the rain and into the Bistro. In recent weeks I’ve been trying to eat more Vegan food and move away from meat based products.I was pleasantly surprised to find two options in the grill section, after much deliberation I opted for the Vegan Cheeseburger (though the plant based steak sounded great)When my burger arrived I couldn’t have been happier. It tasted great and the Vegan Feta cheese was to die for. The mushroom ketchup was a great addition to the burger as well.Service in the Bistro was prompt and the waiter was attentive without being overbearing.The table next to me were in for Afternoon tea which looked incredible, so a return to the Bistro will be made in the near future.

Cuatro de nosotros fuimos a tomar algo después de la cena el domingo por la noche y, en lugar de pedir un vaso de prosecco, decidimos compartir una botella.Esto nos lo trajeron debidamente y ¿qué esperarías pagar? 16 libras? 22 libras? 26 libras?El costo de una botella fue de 40 libras.Me resulta difícil justificar tal precio por una botella de vino burbujeante barato, nos fuimos poco después y nos fuimos a otro lado.Estábamos esperando una experiencia agradable pero nos sentimos muy explotados.

Went as a large family group in private dining room for Sunday lunch 5-1Whilst most of us thoroughly enjoyed our food my wife's fish and chips were awful.The batter was like a board- obviously not freshly cooked and the skimpy fish inside was very dry.The chips were undercooked - as were the "roast" potatoes (maybe sauted?) The rest of us had.I was slightly disappointed by the cold table as not all the items expected were present and the scotch eggs weren't replenished.On the plus side the serving staff were friendly and handled dealing with our large group well.Unfortunately whilst we enjoyed our get together and having a private room helped that not being able to cook fresh fish and chips means that overall the score has to be "poor"

Mi esposa había reservado para nuestra mesa en la parte trasera del restaurante, ya que es más tranquilo para mi problema de audición y el servicio de Valeki (como siempre aquí y en Malmaison) y Alexandrea fue atento y agradable. Primero estaba la sopa de lentejas y luego la ayuda en el Market Table Buffet. . Para los platos principales todos teníamos el rosbif asado (cocinado a la perfección y lleno de sabor) (lástima que las verduras estaban bastante secas porque se habían mantenido calientes) y luego para los postres el Creme Brulee para mí y mi esposa, Pear, Apple y Blackberry Cobbler con Natillas para nuestros amigos. Para acompañar nuestras comidas tomamos una botella de Chardonnay 21. 95 y Merlot 21. 95) Hay un 10% de cargo por servicio. Terminamos nuestra tarde libre tomando nuestros cafés (3. 00) en la sección del bar / lounge, lo que hace que sean las tres horas más agradables.

Open table messed up our booking! We booked via the app and drove for an hour and a half to get there - hotel du vin called us and explained the open table cock up - they were really good and gave us a free bottle of champagne and other drinks as an apology - first class response - we managed to eat elsewhere but will definitely go back to hotel du vin but probably book direct with them next time and not via open table

Booked new years eve table on opentable , was told booking wasnt valid as private event on even though I showed booking confirmation. New years eve ruined. Thanks so much

We booked Hotel du Vin via opentable for lunch on the 31st Dec, our 8th wedding anniversary. When we arrived, we were told by staff that they were not taking bookings for lunch that day. My husband commented that as the venue used opentable as their booking agent, then surely they would have made sure they were aware that they were not taking bookings. The manager advised that this was not something they got involved in and that we should have called to confirm the booking. Why would we do this when we had a confirmation of the booking from opentable. Extremely disappointing service all round, especially on a day that’s very important to me and my husband.

El aspecto sobresaliente de nuestra experiencia fue el encantador sumiller de Georgia: servicial, realmente se volcó para asegurarse de que disfrutáramos nuestra velada y recomendara deliciosas opciones de vinos. Una joya, y la razón por la que volvería.

Tuve una cena agradable en el Bistro du Vin. Un muy buen bistec y una enorme lista de vinos (a buen precio). El servicio fue encantador y rápido.

Hice muchos restaurantes franceses en Birmingham, pero puedo decir que este es el que te hace sentir como en casa. Soy francés y cuando voy a este lugar como algo que puedo comer en Francia.El tartare de boeuf es realmente agradable como entrante. Cortar a mano y la preparación es perfecta. Podría tomarlo como principal pero el filete también fue muy bueno. Cuando le pregunté al azul, era muy azul con la salsa bearnesa que es exactamente como me gusta en mi país.La única debilidad que pude decir fue el fuego que se cocinó en exceso, incluso si era agradable.Realmente recomiendo este lugar si quieres comer como en Francia. Olvidé tomar fotos del resto de la cena.

Lovely Bistro decor, excellent service and excellent food. Drinks service prompt. Thoroughly enjoyed a three course meal here, would recommend.

Been many times now, but if there’s a better Sunday lunch in Birmingham city centre for the money then I’d like to know where ?! 4 courses for £26.95 including a visit to the fantastic market table overflowing with fresh fish, great cold meats and plenty more.

Reservamos una mesa para el almuerzo del domingo a las 1200. Al llegar, una mujer asomó la cabeza por la puerta y nos dijo que regresáramos en media hora porque aún no estaban listos. Estaba sorprendido. Así que nos fuimos y encontramos un lugar más acogedor (y organizado) para comer. Hemos estado almorzando aquí en muchas ocasiones. . . pero lamentablemente no otra vez. Si la gerencia del hotel está leyendo esto, mi sugerencia educada es que el personal más joven y menos experimentado puede necesitar más capacitación. ¿Podría por lo menos habernos mostrado un lugar para sentarnos y esperar? ¿O sugirió lo que podríamos hacer mientras esperamos 30 minutos? (Mi invitado fue deshabilitado también).

Catching up as our Sunday brunch visit was weeks ago. Simply an amazing four course meal. The browsing salad and more table was impressive. I choose the game pie, which was very filling; so we waited awhile for the pudding. Impressive service watched over by the Maitre D', Vladimir. It did help we had a voucher, but it is tempting to pay the full price such was the quality experience.

Son treated us to Sunday Lunch for my birthday.Very welcoming,good food.Wonderful pudding,pineapple with coconut icecream,good coffee.Main course of beef.We were asked how we wanted the beef done,pink or welldone.Vegetables just enough,not overloaded with them,so ate them all.Hotel very handy for the railway station,5 mins walk away.All in all a pleasant experience.

Went for Sunday lunch on 10 March. Welcoming atmosphere. Service was attentive but discreet. Carrot and ginger soup was amazing. Unusual take on Bouillebaisse with fried hake on sauce with new potatoes but very good. The crime brûlée was astounding - easily the best I have ever had. My partner had roast beef and she was very pleased also. We gave a tip as well as service charge because the quality of food is really superb here and with busy atmosphere and discreet service it is highly recommended.

Lunch time set menu two courses on a Thursday lunchtime. Very quiet with only six diners for whole two hours which is a shame because the food was first class.

Fabulous food, service and atmosphere. The fillet in peppercorn sauce is absolutely divine. A thoroughly special experience.

9 of us had Afternoon Tea to celebrate my moms 80th Birthday today on Valentines Day. The staff were excellent, very friendly and accommodating all our dietary needs were addressed. The food was excellent. The staff could not have done anymore for us they made the whole experience an absolute pleasure. A special thank you to Leanna our waitress.

My wife and I have just enjoyed the most fantastic meal.

Overall, we had a fantastic time. Very attentive staff, excellent sommelier and very good food too. Our only slight bugbear was there were a few long waits during our evening, particularly from receiving drinks to ordering our food. It was valentines though, so clearly it was going to be busy. Not that that takes anything away from how good the experience was, will definitely be back!

Visited for an afternoon tea on Friday 25th January using a TravelZoo voucher. Loved the venue, it was light, airy and quirky. The staff were really nice and helpful. My friend doesn’t drink tea or coffee and they immediately offered any soft drink she would like. The afternoon tea itself was beautifully presented. The savory section was delicious! The other pastries and scones were lovely too. Would definitely recommend

Firstly I should say that I am a fan of the Hotel du Vin group and perhaps this report reflects a bit on my sense of disappointment in the new Stratford upon Avon Hotel du Vin. My wife and I have enjoyed visits, and stays, in other hotels of the group and we really like the Birmingham one. Looking forward to the new hotel, which had opened recently in our home town, we thought that we would try it out.

Please find a better place to eat in, the service was ok, the toilets were shabby and the additional service charge to the food! Not pleased at all. :-(

Entretuve a colegas para una reunión de negocios en el bar y en el pub de abajo. Nos sentamos en las mesas y esperamos, y esperamos pero nada. El personal estaba mucho más preocupado por los chismes que por los clientes. ¡Pedir café y una bebida fría parecía demasiado para el camarero que resopló! La planta baja no era mejor; No tengo idea de lo que son ciertas bebidas y terrible elección. . . "No tenemos mucho" me dijo una chica claramente avergonzada. Mi colega fuma cigarros. . . Al parecer tienen una zona de fumadores. . . esta en la calle En general, el servicio es terrible y otros dicen lo mismo. Se supone que el café de arriba rinde homenaje a un café vienés. . Si es así, no toques música pop! No había reservado para el almuerzo y decidí ir a otro lugar ya que la experiencia en general fue muy pobre. Créame, no somos gente pedante, pero esto fue horrible y el personal necesita capacitación en servicio al cliente. . . . o nueva gestión.

While there's nothing terribly wrong with the food at Bistro du Vin, the service falls apart as soon as it gets busy. An evening that started well ended up being a disappointment, and we all left very underwhelmed. I would absolutely not go back.

The restaurant was great. However, they did NOT have our reservation so at the time very embarrassing especially as it was fully booked. The Manager did manage to find us a table and said they had some problems before with Open Table bookings not coming through? This table was booked especially for my birthday so it was not the experience we wanted. Maybe this is something you need to take up with the Hotel.

Used to be very good great service unfortunatly now service is poor food is overpriced and wine expensive.

I took 3 colleagues to celebrate a promotion. Unfortunately the service was terrible we had to ask repeatedly to order, we had to ask for our drinks to be topped up. Then only 3 of the 4 main courses turned up. Our waiter was apologetic but it was clear there wasn’t enough colleagues on to serve. Not good enough in any restaurant especially when the bill came to over £300. Very disappointed after hearing good things about Hotel du Vin.

Visitamos el hotel du vin y tuvimos una buena comida, pero 1 en nuestro grupo tiene una alergia severa a las nueces. Cuando le pregunté qué desiertos podía tener o cuáles deberían evitarse, me dijeron que debía evitarse la manzana del desierto porque tenía canela. (la canela no es una nuez) Cuando pregunté por el desierto con macarrones, me dijeron que eran libres (¡pero no me llené de confianza debido al error anterior sobre la canela!)

The surroundings, staff and food were all excellent. We were not rushed and the waiting time between courses was perfect so they could be savoured. Tables were not on top of each other so conversations could not be overheard. Lovely experience.

we booked a table to celebrate our son's graduation and weren't disappointed. From the welcome, to the food on offer (we had checked the menu on their site before booking) to the wine list (the bottle we wanted was no longer available but the sommelier came to our table to propose another one). The food was well presented, and succulent.

My day spent here was a 21st birthday gift from my two very good friends. We were all extremely excited about our afternoon here as one of them had previously been and had a great time. My friend told the staff prior to the visit that it was for a 21st birthday. The staff made zero effort considering it was my birthday, in fact there was no mention at all!

My daughet got married at this bvenue and we had an excellent meal for the wedding breakfast. We liked it that much, decided to go back and try it again. The food was great and the service topclass.

Delicious cooked breakfast with the addition of toast and baked products. The eggs benedict was melt in your mouth. Great attentive service.

The dining part of a chain hotel; you might not expect much, but in fact the atmosphere and the food are both good, the bar beforehand has character, and the hotel itself is excellent too.

We had a great evening, from the start we were welcomed and had great service. Everything from the artisan bread through to starters, mains and desserts were great. 3 of our party had steak and all were cooked to perfection. The wine list was extensive also. This is a pricey restaurant when you are adding on wine, however for a special occasion it was worth it. Also we were going to go elsewhere originally, however the first restaurant could not seat is for an hour, we waited 30 minutes at the bar and were not even served, as well as was so loud we could not hear each other speak. Thanks to Opentable and some slots being available we managed to get a reservation and we were very, very pleased that we did! I would recommend it.

This is not a review of the Bistro per se but of the evening meal I had at the hotel on Sunday 24th June 2018. This was a retirement party for two colleagues and there was about 60 of us in a private room. The Premium Menu comprised: Starters - Prawn and Avocado Salad, Chicken Liver Parfait, Caprese Salad; Main Courses - Rump of Lamb, Roast Cod, Piedmontese Peppers with Salsa Rossa; Desserts - Pear and Almond Tart with honeycombe (their typo not mine) ice cream, Red Berry ‘Pavlova’. Once I had seen how unexciting the (Premium) menu was for this type of establishment I was dreading the food itself and my fears were not unfounded. I had the Parfait, Lamb and ‘Pavlova’. The parfait was a large slice with some grape chutney and two small pieces of toasted brioche. Even after overloading both brioche with parfait I still had 50% of the parfait left that I had to eat on its own. It was definitely edible but the plate looked uninspiring (all the courses looked uninspiring and gave the message that the kitchen staff were perhaps a bit peeved that they had to be doing a meal for 60 on a Sunday night). The 3 chunks of lamb rump were interesting. It was very difficult to cut into each piece and half of each piece was undercooked (and I like my lamb pink) and the other half overcooked. How one can undercook and overcook the same piece must be an art. Each piece (chunk) of lamb contained a bits of a white sinew running through it. One would have expected that these would have been removed but perhaps the staff were too busy watching the World Cup to be bothered to do it. The green beans were nice and the basil pesto OK. The boulangere potatoes were in a rectangular stack (originally with chorizo but I had asked for this to be removed) about 15 cm (W) x 8 cm (D) x 2 cm (H) and were completed tasteless. I was hoping that the meal would end with a famous ‘Pavlova’. Unfortunately that was not the case. A large meringue with a crispy top and a bit of Chantilly cream squirted on the top and some red berry compote on top of that. The bulk of the meringue was not soft that I would normally expect from a pavlova that is one of my favourite desserts, having been brought up eating them since I was a child. Perhaps ‘Pavlova’ does not mean pavlova? Overall a disappointing meal from a place that really should know better. Not only the presentation of the food, the quality and the attention to detail (i.e. lack of it). We were thinking of coming here for Sunday Lunch but not now. Fortunately, the evening itself was a great success as the two people retiring were thrilled to see so many past and present colleagues who had made the effort to attend.

We called in by chance on Sunday afternoon when unable to get a table at a near by restaurant.

No surprises on the menu but if you go to a French bistro, you expect the standard dishes. Decor is very French and staff were friendly and attentive. French onion soup was great - just like the back streets cafes of Paris! Excellent Bayonne ham. Cassoulet was different to others, with deep flavours of red wine - not bad actually.

When the meal was booked my partner said she was vegan/vegetarian and was told that they would supply a special menu for her. When we tried to order items from the menu she found that she ended up with no choices at all. The waiter was very pleasant but this spoit what was supposed to be "a special" birthday meal. When I complained they did agree to minus the cost of the wine from the bill which was nice of them but it spoiled what was meant to be a special night. Very disappointed food was alright but not special won't waste money giving then a second visit,

Great location for a pre Symphony Hall meal. Just a 10 minute walk away and much better than the closer chain restaurants. We had a lovely meal with our friends in a very nice dining room. The food was good, as was the service.

Very enjoyable meal - nice to see snails and ile flottante on the menu in a nicely French atmosphere.

Late light lunch after a concert nearby. We liked the bouillabaisse, particularly the piquant sauce, and the omelette Arnold Bennett was light and fluffy. Smoked fish sets off egg dishes so well. Shared both dishes, as neither of us wanted to miss out, using the complimentary ciabatta to dip up sauce. 'Healthy' slab of tarte au citron with raspberry ice for my friend, I was full enough to settle for mint tea. We were fortunate to dine from the new menu which includes larger and also lighter meals, according to preference. A glass of house wine set the meals off perfectly, one red, one white.

Loved this meal for two. Unhurried and good value at £26.95 pp. Great soup as a starter followed by cold buffet and then pink roast beef as requested. Perfectly cooked veg and apple tart and Creme brûlée to finish. Service impeccable from a young team. Treated myself to a Bellini which was £8.50

Es extraño que hay muchos comentarios sobre la comida cuando nuestra experiencia fue muy diferente. Quizás el sábado que estaban demasiado ocupados para producir el estándar, o una nueva, el chef menos experimentado estaba a cargo, pero fue uno de los peores comidas de restaurante que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo. El arranque Iberico Presa fue un extraño poco trozo de carne y el calamar crujiente y los calabacines flores estaban aguados y sosa. En £15, la Bouillabaisse no era tradicional en todo, era como insípida tomates enlatados picadas con sólo tres trozos de pescado. Un filete de buen sabor y estaba preparado correctamente, pero era muy medio duro y difícil de cortar. No nos molestamos con los budines. Nos hubiera enviado cosas, pero como estuvimos los huéspedes de amigos que no queríamos que molesta. Esa noche no había nada francés acerca de la comida, único lugar.

For the cost, I found the lunch disappointing and quite average. The rib eye steak was grisly and the starter was very light on calamari which was covered in greasy batter. I will not be going back.

Superb family visit, using a Travelzoo offer and so paid £145 for a two course dinner, with one round of drinks - not bad for six adults. Skipped the starter and two of us chose the Venison & Game Pie - which was excellent, very...

Another great wedding anniversary meal, just before Christmas. Food was good and was only bettered by the service, which was as expected and always is, great, friendly and attentive from start to finish

A lovely evening again at Hotel du Vin - unfortunately marred by my dining partner’s phone ringing!

Un excelente bistró cerca de todas las principales instalaciones del centro de la ciudad. Convenientemente situado para ciudad Symphony Hall y otros lugares, pero lo suficientemente lejos para ser tranquilo y relajado.

Reservamos una comida aquí como estaba alojado en el hotel. Una excelente bienvenida y servicio recibido, excelente comida, bebidas que se sirven y recargarla muy eficientemente, y todos disfrutamos de una habitación muy bien. Disfrutamos mucho!

Pasado el hotel y fue tentado por las opciones de menú fijo para el almuerzo. El menú fijo es una increíble relación calidad-precio, complementadas con un servicio excelente por parte del personal. Bien hecho a todos! Volveremos y lo recomendaría a mis amigos.

Ha sido dos veces recientemente, almuerzo y cena, y ambos eran super. El mismo menú, y he probado varios platos todos han sido bien presentado y de buena calidad. La comida está acompañada por cortesía. selección de pan El servicio es amable y eficiente y el somellier es muy útil para elegir el vino.

...but worth mentioning again the great service, carefully crafted menu and the friendly graceful staff. Try no to get sucked into classic bistro faire, the chef has obviously worked hard at producing some interesting dishes, it'd be a shame to overlook them. The scallops particularly. Delicious! Only complaint was the gratuity wasn't enough to cover the offering and service. I had to top up with cash! I hope the chef gets a share, he/she deserves it.

Fabulous dinner on the 5th of June.. The main course from the set menu of Mackerel was really nice, and the cheese selection was great, never tried any of them before.. The service was also very good..
