Costa Coffee in Birmingham

The services at princess alice drive has gone downhill. The coffee they serve doesn't taste as good. I asked for caramel latte and there is no caramel taste to their drinks.This also happened with a mocha drink. When I mention it to the staff they seem not professional about it and have also been quite rude, they need to create a more friendly environment. My friends who went with me on another occasion had noticed this as well. I have gone more than once and just feel the cost of the drink doesn't do it justice so I have now gone to Greggs next door and their coffee tastes way better. The one in aldridge seems okay just a shame as princess alice drive was the closest which means I will have to buy elsewhere.

When a coffee chain serves lukewarm coffee as standard, with the 'extra hot' option being marginally warmer and yet still colder than what I would class at home as beyond salvation...what else is there to say? Starbucks are the same, I'm leaving the same comment for them.

Delicious cappuccino in Costa coffee! So satisfying! The staffs are friendly and immaculate place.

Typical Costa Coffee… busy, busy , busy ! Only criticism would be to extend up , to create more space ….

Good coffee, good location and friendly staff

I used to really enjoy going to the Costa, Princess Alices Drive in Sutton Coldfield. I used feel welcomed and a sense of belonging because the staff were so kind and accommodating. Recently there has been a change, the same staff have made me feel unwelcome, I have been ignored or avoided eye contact when I've tried to say hello. I didn't go to the Costa because of its name or who the owners support i went there for the staff and there customers service but I'm really disappointed because I don't know what I have done to be treated like this. What's changed I'm still the same person. Its actually heart breaking, the one place I used to not feel judged has let me down. We must remember we all are human and humanity, kindness, compassion comes first. :(

DISHEARTENED :( I used love going to Costa at princess alice drive in Sutton Coldfield. The staff were always kind and welcoming. I felt part of the community and culture. I would always boast and recommend this venue. Recently, I was not treated the same, I was ignored by the same staff, even when I tried to approach them to say hello seversl times, they avoided eye contact and walked away. I knew sonething wasnt right as I didn't feel welcome at all. I went to this costa because of the way the staff treated me, I used feel that I wasn't judged for being different and that made me feel proud to be a British born Muslim. There was a sense of belonging. Unfortunately, this has changed and it is very disappointing. I am still the same person, and I don't understand what I have done wrong to be treated this way. It is important to remember that we all are human beings and humanity comes first along with compassion, kindness and care. It's heartbreaking, unfortunately I won't be returning there after being made to feel like an outsider. It just isn't fair, I was able to look past things because I really liked the staff but why couldn't the staff look past things and see me as their customer who valued them but the same was not reciprocated by the staff unfortunately. :(

Typical Costa. Its quite popular as can be busy on a week day. Plenty of parking as it's part of Princess Alice Retail Park.

This is by far my favourite Costa in Birmingham! Staff are super welcoming, friendly and attentive. Drinks are always made beautifully here compared to other Costa's

Went to Costa in Newport Shropshire. Very busy at 12 noon and size of counter makes it difficult to choose what you want. Staff struggle to get drinks done quickly because they are so complicated to make.

It's a costa, you know the score. Really busy even during the week. But the staff are always friendly.

Updating my review of this from a 4 star to 5 star review. I previously reviewed at 4 stars due to lack of seating space. Since the re-fit there are more seats available but the staff here are some of the best I have experienced at a Costa. As other reviews have said, they are beyond what I've experienced in other coffees shops. Such welcoming smiles and treat every customer as an individual, no matter how busy they are they make time to smile and take your order in such a polite way. If any head office staff read this review, I have been a customer here for over 5 years, the staff here deserve an award for their consistent level of exceptional customer service 🫶

One of the best Costas in town. The staff are brill. It's only downfall is it's size. Gets busy so have to pick a time if you want to sit.

The friendliest Costa I have ever visited. This feels more like going into a local independent coffee shop, with all the benefits of the Costa menu, but more than usually friendly engaging staff. If only Costa could bottle this atmosphere and spread it throughout the network!

I use this Costa more or less every week. I met my Mom her today, however zometimes it's getting a coffee on my way to work, popping out for a coffee, meeting friends and family, etc. Always greeted with a smile and the coffee is always great. I live a 2 minute walk from this Costa so is extremely convenient. It represents the brand so well.

first time ordering at this costa, the woman serving me was rude and dismissive towards me and ignored me started whispering to other staff but as soon as another customer behind me ordered the customer was met with happy faces and got served with customer service that i was not provided with. honestly this made me feel as if i was somehow less than. wont be coming back and would not recommend.

Really very friendly staff, moreso than typical Costa service which is very good. Allowed me to set up my laptop and showed me the tables with sockets. The Latte and Hot Choc were delicious as usual, heated extra hot as requested. Can't ask for more. Thank you.

Better than most costas , still have to pay for a sachet of sauce though , how tight can you get ??

Great coffee and loving the new flavours, however was a tad busy, I ordered using the app and took a while to get my drink. I was there in the morning rush.

Tables are very close together and machines are very loud. Not much privacy.

Fabulous friendly coffee shop with great range food.

I cannot rate this Costa higher. Im a big Costa fan and this Costa represents the brand so well. I'm lucky as its a 2 minute walk from where I live. The staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome whenever you come in. It can be like speaking to old friends at times, always a good experience. Sometimes i just go in to read a book or pick up a coffee on my way to work, regardless always a lovely experience. It is currently closed for a refurb, looking foward to when it reopens

Went yesterday morning for a meeting with friend comfortable surroundings. Excellent service and very friendly. Lovely place to meet for a coffee and chat.

Finally somenthing I can enjoy. Egg mushroom and spinach sandwich. Vegetarian have new good alternative but only untill 11 which is disappointing.

Clean and great service, with a good outside area to drink

Had two lovely take out drinks from here yesterday. I had a delicious orange flavoured hot chocolate and my partner a frappe coffee. Very helpful and friendly service and we sat and drank our drinks in the car; our temporary new 'going out' place :-)
