No food on offer other than crisps, ice cream and a meagre offering of cake, shocked as we were there for a 1pm show and had travelled over an hour thinking we would be fine for lunch at the theatre. Staff were fine, no hint of getting things done in a timely fashion and not much interaction with customers. Decor is depressing, such a big space makes it cold and echoey. Just no atmosphere whatsoever. Very disappointed and won't be back.

My friend and myself attended Eden Court forthe ballet, we decided to have a light bite before the Ballet, we ordered a cheese and ham toastie and a chicken tikka toastie and 2 portions of skinny fries we waited for over 1 hr fir someone to then tell us the kitchen had ran out of ham, the chips came then 10 minutes later the said toasties came half filled and really not the best with some rather limp salad chaos far too busy no organisation a shame as could be amazing if organised needs looking at won’t be back!!

With no table service, you now have to queue at the bar, which can be a lengthy wait. This could easily be solved by having a designated order area away from the bar. However it’s not as long as the time you have to wait to actually get your food! From an extremely limited menu it shouldn’t be difficult to get the orders out timeously. However we had to wait over half an hour for someone to come and tell us they had run out of an item we had ordered and paid for and then a further half an hour for it to arrive at our table. So for 2 toasties and skinny fries it took them over an hour. The staff are clearly used to this as mumbled apologies were given. The toasties themselves were also bad, flat as pancakes and all I am say is the filling must have heard out as you struggled to identify and cheese in one! The tables were also filthy, with previous occupants plates and split items over them. In a nutshell just go and enjoy the show and avoid eating in the ‘restaurant’.

True the menu is pretty much limited to soup, cakes and hot drinks for the time being. However, as a tour guide, I’ve been a frequent visitor over the summer season while my tour group are off shopping in the city. I’ve had consistently good service from several different staff members over the past few months - always cheery and engaging and giving off the vibe that it’s a good place to work. The Indonesian Chickpea soup is reason enough to return but the cakes are also very good. I also enjoyed a live performance one Sunday afternoon at the Under Canvas venue which was a great way to pass a couple of hours. However the real reason for feeling compelled to write a glowing review is the ambience and customer service from a very welcoming team. Well done to all the

Our party of seven arrived for a pre performance lunch, expecting at the very least a soup and sandwich combo. Soup was on offer but only with various types of crisps, and the other lunch option was hot drinks and cakes. There seems to be a much reduced catering operation in place now, which seems a shame bearing in mind the popularity of Eden Court Theatre.

Checked the menu before coming along to a show. Arrived at 18.05. advised all that was left was soup and chips. Whilst tables with people eating bowls of chips might appeal to those with a Monty python persuasion, it is incredibly annoying for those that have driven over 100 miles to come to a show. 2hrs between lunch and evening and they couldn't restock. Then advised not to order the West lager for the interval as likely to run out. Not a great advert for the purchasing team. How hard can it be? Ok, it was a sunny day. We do occasionally get those. It was crying out for some outdoor pop up options but these were apparently earlier in the month. So we walked back to the excellent pizza van parked 10 mins away at the side of the River Ness. Friendly service, and apologetic over lack of options. Soup was nice however!!!

Soup and sandwich ordered. Tuna on brown bread. Soup came with a mountain of white bread soup was delicious though. Sandwich was a toasted tuna panini returned to the kitchen to come out with a white pathetic sandwich. Sorry no brown bread is that ok but as I wasn’t happy I was told I shouldn’t have been offered a sandwich anyway. Offered a refund but decided to scrape the tuna off and eat it with the salad. I also had a chocolate eclair that had horrid fake cream. There are no menus on the table to look at. £15 for that was disappointing. Maybe they are having a bad day. A nun “obviously from the show” was cooking not hygienic to say the least.

The restaurant at Eden Court used to be excellent - it matched the theatre’s status as the premier cultural venue in the highlands. The menu is now much reduced and dumbed down - essentially fish nuggets, pizza or macaroni- ideal for a primary school birthday party. The food is served well and the staff are friendly. We will be back to the bar, cinema and theatre. We will not be back to the restaurant unless it changes.

The theatre has a much reduced menu now, presumably due to Covid. A pre-visit online check showed it was down to more or less pizza, chips and nacho options for dinner. In the event by 6.00pm on the night, the pizza option was off so it was chips or nachos for a Saturday dinner out at the Highland's prime cultural venue. What a disappointment. We noted Canadian, Norwegian and French tourists among the many locals who left to look elsewhere. There were no napkins available and we were unfortunate that our chip order went to other customers because there were duplicate tables with the same number! (How is that even possible?) The staff were good in the circumstances. The chips, the tea and coffee were good. The management - clearly incompetent. The theatre programme has recovered from the pandemic. The dining arrangements haven't.

Decided to pop along for pizzas at the under canvas tent in the grounds of Eden Court. Wood fired pizza ovens and although the pizzas took a wee while to arrive, they were well worth waiting for. Tables were sticky. Staff member wiped it again and told us it was a badly done varnishing job during lockdown. We were so looking forward to a lunch with friends we hadn't seen since lockdown began in March 2020. We all knew that Eden Court had a good menu and nice aspect. How wrong we were. There was a choice of soup or cullen skink then a sandwich, baguette or salad. The food was okay, but not what we had wanted - a quality lunch in a quality environment. It was a disgrace, really and the cups of tea weren't full and the latte was served with no finesse whatsoever. WILL NEVER RETURN.

In for a meal before a show and booked a table in advance - there was no need as only one other couple was dining there. Arrived on time, the restaurant was spartan and not very welcoming. No one to welcome us but a sign said 'find a table and order at the bar'. Had to go to the bar to find a menu as there were none on the table. In fact, there was nothing on the tables.Decided on Fish and Chips and the Beefburger. Back to the bar to order where one out of four staff behind the bar were working with customers. When two of the staff finished their chat I was asked what I would like. I said I'd like to order food at which point she said I had to go to the other end of the bar (there were no signs indicating this). I went with her to the other end and placed my order and also ordered drinks. Cutlery and napkins were given to me in a metal container (mini bucket) along with a wooden spoon with a number. It wasn't long to wait for the food to be delivered - the waiter was courteous, friendly and efficient. He asked if we needed anything else and said there was salt and pepper in the bucket (there wasn't). He came back with salt, pepper and other condiments. The fish was of a good size and the taste was good. The beef burger was ok but the lettuce limp and wet, the slaw (in a small dish) had clearly been sitting out for some time as it had gone slightly hard on top, and the 'chunky chips' were like the cheap frozen budget ones from a supermarket - certainly not fresh cut. This used to be a good restaurant but is now poor and very bad value for money. I will eat elsewhere before a show in future as this was nowhere near good value at around £30.

As we were in the middle of the coldest spell of weather for many years we decided to book a table at the Eden Court Restaurant to minimise exposure to the elements. We had not eaten there before but having looked at the menu online it read well if somewhat limited for choice. We duly arrived and were given a friendly welcome and showed to our table. Drinks were served and food ordered by 6pm but it had not arrived by 6.30pm when I attracted the waitress 's attention. She apologised and set off to find out what had happened. She returned very quickly and said that our order was on its way - she reiterated how sorry they were for the mix up and said there would be a reduction in the bill by way of compensation. The restaurant was busy but, given their in theatre location, they must be used to having to service people within a finite time scale as most diners will be going on to the theatre at a specific time. That said, things can go wrong in all walks of life for a multitude of reasons and how the party responsible deals with rectifying an error can make all the difference. In this case, when the shortfall in their service standards was pointed out their reaction was swift and their behaviour exemplary. So much so that I would still highly recommend this eatery not least because the food when it arrived was excellent being both well cooked and presented. Very tasty!

Saturday evening just before 7.30pm, crowds waiting to go into the theatre but the restaurant almost empty. If staff are exhausted from the pre-theatre rush, then perhaps the restaurant should close at that point? As a solo traveller, I am accustomed to receiving lesser service than large parties - it's a fact of life! After being shown to a table and given a menu, I was effectively abandoned by the waiter who didn't even ask if I would like a drink. I had to attract the attention of a waitress who took my food order but still didn't ask if I would like a drink. When she brought me a single piece of bread & butter in a basket, I asked for a glass of white wine. Monosyllabic 'small' or 'large' was the extent of the conversation! The cod dish was tasty but fish overcooked and underseasoned. I didn't linger for pudding. When I went over to pay, the waitress finally smiled and spoke a few words. Too little far too late and no tip I'm afraid.

We were quickly shown to our table and left to peruse the menu. A good choice was offered from lighter dishes to more filling alternatives. My college chose the haddock and chips and I opted for the falafel burger. Both were very good and the service was quick but not hurried - perfect for a business lunch.

We had an excellent meal a month ago before the show, so booked for 30th April pre show. The menu lacked inspiration, service was poor, had to request a jug of water twice, and the food was bland, we wont be back.

Ordered coffee but was only offered a paper cup. When I queried this, they said they had run out of proper cups. Looking around the restaurant and most people seemed to be drinking out of paper cups. Why don't you just order more coffee cups? There was no reduction in price for being served essentially takeaway coffee. They poured the coffee from a percolator into the paper cups and it was absolutely vile. I honestly would have got a better coffee if I had stopped by MacDonalds on the way to Eden Court. Really wish they would up their game.

Popped in for lunch on Sat 18th. My wife had the quiche special (under £6) whilst I had scampi (under £9). I have to say it was so good. Also the young waitress was excellent, full of personality as was the young waiter. Do try it.

6 friends chose to eat at the Eden court restaurant from the very beginning the waitress service service was poor. Her attitude manner was not to a high standard and appeared to be rude at times. Took 20 minutes after she took our drinks order, to get them even when reminder her and surrounding tables that she was dealing with got theirs. She cleared some of our plates before we were all finished. After our pudding she never asked if we wanted coffees if everything was ok. One of the girls does not like mushrooms and asked if she could have the dish without a big fuss was made by her and then she asked if allergic basically no but only way to have dish without this ingredient. Not very accommodating!!!!! Food was lovely, expensive for what we had but all enjoyed it. The service certainly needs to improve as they have lots of competition in the area. Won't be back in a rush !!

My husband and I booked a table before seeing Hansel and Gretel last Saturday. The only time we could have was 5-30, as it turned out this was a blessing. We arrived just before 5-30 and were show to our table immediately and given our menus and drink orders taken by a very pleasant waitress. So good so far! 15 mins later we got our drinks but it was another 15 mins before our order was taken. Our starters didn't take too long to arrive and were very pleasant but then the LONG wait! Eventually a waitress came over and apologised ( we hadn't complained ) and said she had spoken to the kitchen. She said we could have a complimentary drink to take into the Theatre. Our meals arrived but were served on cold plates and the food was luke warm.Full marks to the waiting staff but they are badly let down by the kitchen. We didn't want a pudding but had we done so I doubt if they would have arrived before curtain up. We took our seats at 7-20 for a 7-30 show. Not good enough Eden Court.

Bog standard service and food. Very noisy from theatre, pantomime and concert goers. Not comfortable. If you're going here then I suggest you eat elsewhere first. The harsh, angular design of the building makes it very uncomfortable acoustically. The staff can be quite pushy, bossy and not friendly, only some of them, some are ok. You might be entertained in the theatre but not, for me, in the atrium.

A table was booked for our annual Christmas lunch for 7 0f us. When we arrived today the table was not set despite it being booked, obviously an error had occurred. When we pointed out to them a booking had been made they checked their reservations and it had been marked in. Not a good start. Anyway, we were given three different menus and the one on line which we liked hence the booking, and was still on line yesterday, was not available now. A new one was produced at an increased price. The previous one was offering three courses for £18.00 but this new one had increased the price Considerably. When asked if we could have the new menu at the old price the waitress said No. We asked to speak to the Manager. He came and we explained the situation and he agreed to honour the original price. Well it took 2 hours exactly to serve 3 courses and not many folk in the restaurant. The starters were OK the mains were not great. My nut roast was dry and the others except one person who chose the beef were disappointed. What has happened to this restaurant, it's not what it was and I will not be returning again for a long time. Definitely not worth the money also it was so cold. My friend opposite had her jacket on her knees my other friend kept her coat on and I had to put my wrap over my legs. Such a shame as it used to be good.

Visited with the family for a pre-show meal. Opted for the Bar Menu wich was very good value for money. The Large chunky fries were excellent, pretty tasty burger as well.Only criticism is when I asked for mustard and ketchup for the table I received more mustard than ketchup in tiny little pots. With 2 children and myself having fries with their meals this was hardly enough to go round. You get bottles of vinegar so why not a larger amount of ketchup? When you pay £50 this will hardly impact on profits.

We had an excellent dinner at Eden Court last night before a concert. The interesting saffron spiced bread was followed by scallops with Stornaway black pudding crumble and cauliflower purée.After that we had Barbary Duck breast with Savoy cabbage, pancetta and cardamom and fondant potatoes and chestnut and cognac jus, followed by mulled wine poached pear and stem ginger ice cream.Could not fault it .The house wines were an excellent choice and the service very competent.

My wife and I visited but soon wished we hadn't. Due to the shape of Eden Court, the acoustics are sharp, brash and loud, making the dining experience very uncomfortable. There were lots of people queuing for different shows which didn't help. The food alas was average and didn't make up for the surroundings.

I've had several bad experiences with the restaurant at Eden Court now. Being treated like a major inconvenience and given poor service because I turned up half an hour before the end of lunch service and then at the weekend, taking my party of 7 there for lunch only to be told they couldn't seat a party of 7 despite the fact the restaurant was half empty. When I asked if they could seat two smaller tables, the waitress went to check with the kitchen but we were told no - we could eat in the bar area (which was crammed) but not in the restaurant. They clearly don't want our business and so I'll be happy to take it elsewhere.

What a down turn in the restaurant at Eden Court Theatre. All near by restaurants to the theatre were fully booked so we recently arranged to meet friends for a pre show meal at their restaurant. Service was un professional. Sadly we were not shown a specials board or told what they were which was disappointing as we discovered later the options were more appetising. Only three tables had guests and knowing how busy everywhere else was that evening i was surprised. On two further trips to the threatre I observed a near empty restaurant one night and a completely empty one the other. Quite a difference from the vibrant busy restaurant I enjoyed 6-12 months ago.

We stopped for an early lunch at Eden Court's Restaurant. It was a nice setting for something different. We had two coffees and a salad each. The food was good...but not great as some things left it down. My battered halloumi chickpea salad was tasty but it would have benefitted from some green salad to bulk it up. The Stornaway black pudding and bacon salad was nice but the potatoes left it down (slightly undercooked). I would return but would probably opt for coffees and cake or try something else from the menu.

We recently tried the new lunch menu and were very pleased with the results. We had a normal burger and a falafal burger, both of which came with the most delicious wedge-style chips and salad. All the food was superb and it has a really nice interior, with comfy chairs and views across the grounds to the river Ness. Service was very friendly although it does take a little while for the food to arrive, presumably because it is freshly cooked. Nothing unreasonable though. The prices are good too, especially for what you get. Definitely recommended.

The restaurant is not big, but it is exceptionally spacious, with a decent menu, and is a great way to prepare for the show, whether theatre, cinema or concert. But beware that it gets busy, so you will need to book if the show is popular. Or why not just visit the restaurant anyway, while everyone else is at the show? Open to all, not just ticket-holders. And generally no need to pay to park in the Cathedral car park - behind Eden Court is a large car park, free out of office hours.

We have eaten here on a few occasions but not in the past couple of years. Having read some of the negative comments, we were a bit apprehensive but decided to try it anyway. The menu was first class! There were several starters and main course items we could have chosen. We both chose Benedict Royale which was absolutely scrumptious, followed by Salmon Encroute which was equally tasty.and piping hot!! Although the dessert menu was tempting, we could not manage any, which speaks volumes for portion sizes.Service was excellent by very pleasant staff. All in all a very pleasant experience and we will definitely be back!

We've eaten here so many times and used to enjoy that as part of our cinema/theatre trip. But things have changed so much in the past months: staff no's have been significantly cut back, meaning those left have to work really hard. Sadly, we have been left waiting to order for too long, or watched whilst tables seated after us are seen to first, once too many times now. Last visit we gave up waiting to be served and left. The traditional club sandwich is now off the lunch menu, and we're told chef won't make it for us (now a blue cheese option). Prices get ever higher, with way too many 'extra charge' items on the pricey supper menu. As others have commented, the eating area is alongside the entrance lobby and is soulless. It is sad to see how empty the restaurant is even for the popular shows these days. Seeing that, and reading TA reviews, clearly we are not the only regular customers to walk away. Inverness really needs the Eden Court and it is a sin that the integral restaurant is being so mismanaged as to possibly cause reluctance for customers (including those coming from further afield who will need to eat here) to want to come here at all, let alone it needing all the income it can get to continue functioning.

We went for a meal before our film. The restaurant was more or less empty despite being the height of summer and loads of tourists around with other restaurants nearby being busy. The restaurant was dowdy and soul-less. They could easily put flowers or candles on the tables and some plants around to brighten the place up. Anyway when we got the menu everything was expensive. Corn fed chicken was £16.95 etc. A haggis bonbon starter was £6.50 and it wasn't very good. My friend had the venison sausages which need a sharp knife to cut them and they were chewy. I didn't bother with a main course and settled for a starter and a desert of mango and mascarpone cheesecake (£6.95) which was pretty small and looked like it was bought rather than homemade. Surely Eden Court you can do better than this. Many other nearby restaurants do a pre theatre meal at an attractive rate but not the actual theatre itself. The only bright spot was the waitress who was friendly and efficient. If you are aiming for fine dining you are certainly missing the mark!

Prior to visiting the theatre for a show which coincidentally was fantastic,we though have dinner at Eden court, looked at menu online, had a rough idea what we would like, great value for money 2 courses for £20.00 or 3 courses for £25.00.Ideal nice meal,in location and show,No! On arrival greater by pleasant young staff, I asked where is the restaurant?here- as they show us to an area not unlike a school refectory,no table cloths, table mats, added decor on tables and really one A4 sheet of paper encased on plastic, great we were reassured to see it was the menu online and certainley were looking forward to it,i thoughtfully checked this menu is still the same deal as on your website,oh no you see we have a new chef now and he says no deals,I wasn't happy but ordered drinks, thinking maybe a mistake was made when our drinks arrived with a new waitress asked her,no there is no deals on she assured me,we Eden court are not responsible for what is put on that website,so new chef says gull prices.bemused luckily we had money.we ordered our mains and desserts. My steak at £24.95 I asked for medium was so rare in the middle I nearly cried,my homemade chips all 9 were tasty,my half tomato, one large mushroom and cress were burnt. The three onion rings were excellent, thank you!My fellow diners chicken supreme I had to remove the leg bone from and at near £17.00,the portion of pasta served with it and Parmesan biscuit were adequate. So to the starters well, puddings are always a success? No,my mango cheesecake was mango colour but could have been fromage frail,no taste, the raspberries all 7 were fresh and lovely, the three little dollops of mango nice, presented well but disappointing. My fellow diner had ordered cheeseboard,I mean how can that go wrong,oh yes it can, cheese, oatcakes, chutney, celery excellent.....but the grapes all 6 of them were frozen hard and nearly resulted in us having to go to an emergency dentist for remedial work.Waiter and waitresses excellent, location lovely, restaurant needs updating, website and Eden court need to update eachother,a very expensive mistake learnt, will not be advising others to attend.

I visited this restaurant last Saturday (6 August) with 3 other family members. We were looked after by a male waiter (cant remember his name) who was very attentive to our needs. The only complaint I and the other diners have was that courses were quite large but all food was fresh and hot and also well presented. One of the group wanted a fresh fruit salad which was not on the menu but she got this and was very happy with it. In my estimation the cost of the meal was reasonably priced and I would be happy to return to this venue another time.

Dined there on Saturday before the show, we were shown to our seats and handed menus, there was no starter that my husband wanted so when our order was taken he opted for main & sweet, I ordered starter, main & sweet, I was half way through my starter when people arrived at the next table, a different waitress took them the menus and told them; in addition to what was on the menu there was also 2 home made soup starters and a Duck special main - we were not told this before we ordered, my husband would have had soup and I would have opted for the duck main. Food was good when it arrived just disappointing service and a hefty bill when you feel you got 2nd best choice as you did not have full menu options

We stayed at this Inn/Hotel at the beginning of November, returning home we received an email asking us to review our stay. This we did by email, however, we did not receive a reply nor did we receive a reply to our follow up copy email, which I now type below. "Many thanks for your email, usually we send a report good or bad to Tripadvisor, as you have asked for feedback I am happy to share our thoughts with you initially. I have an email from you confirming our reservation from the 4th to the 8th November, 2024 in a Garden Room. This was because we have a dog and thought this would be an easier option should she need to go outside. When we arrived we had NOT been booked into a Garden Room for our five nights, as per your confirmation. We were offered a garden room for 3 nights and two other nights elsewhere within the hotel. I really did not feel changing rooms, packing and unpacking for two nights was a good idea, so we opted to stay again in Room 111 for the five night stay. I am sure you will agree, this was not a good start to our holiday. I spoke to another couple who had also booked a garden room only to find they too had been misallocated a room and these long established customers were very upset and vowed not to return next year for their 8th year. I feel it necessary to draw to your attention the lack of servicing for Room 111. Each day our duvet was "just turned over at the top", the bottom sheet was not straightened and the pillows were as we had arisen, not even straightened and aligned. The cleanliness in the bathroom left much to be desired. As I am sure you are aware there is no toilet brush next to the lavatory. The toilet was not cleaned throughout our stay and the bowl after five nights was turning a light shade of brown, however, diligent attention was paid to folding and making the spare toilet roll and the one for use look pretty. I would have preferred a clean toilet. This takes me on to the bath. On arrival there was a single long dark hair in the bath, as we did not use the bath and both have grey hair, this was still there when we left!! The shower doors require a thorough clean and polish, there is black mould on the wall and around the base of the shower. During our stay this was NOT cleaned at all. Mould and Mildew spray with a toothbrush would solve this problem. Likewise the wash hand basin was neglected. No dusting or vacuuming was carried out in the room for the duration of our stay. For your information I left a piece of cotton and a clean tissue on the floor and they were not picked up. When we had dinner in the bar area dogs were quite welcome. However, in the morning we did feel rather like second class citizens as we were with other dog owners required to use the alternative dining room, which was uninviting and a long way from the self-service area in the breakfast room. On two days for breakfast we were along with four other owners with dogs, allowed to use the breakfast room. No explanation was given for the flexible rule. To end on a good note, the staff were pleasant and helpful, always willing to assist in anyway they could. It is with interest I await your response. " On our next trip to Scotland we shall stay elsewhere.

Just popped in here at lunchtime, being 'in holiday' mode visiting Nairn. I asked for a cone of chips and the chap that served me was very pleasant, chatty and polite. The cone was nearly overflowing with chips with plenty of salt & vinegar added. They were freshly made, hot and very tasty. I would highly recommend if you are visiting Nairn. I will definitely go again and next time have the fish & chips - well you are at the seaside :)
