Seriously? Couldn’t you slice your carrot cake any thinner? Over £3 for a slice that’s barely 1 cm thick—what a joke! Most places sell a proper slice for this price. If you’re going to sell dessert, at least serve a normal portion. This level of greed is just disgusting.

Salad is fine but… 1. Very little care for cross contamination, I.e. same tongs used for touching salmon/chicken as all the vegetable items, gloves not changed between customers - especially concerning for allergy sufferers and vegetarians/vegans. All food stuffs contained randomly in same area so food regularly drops into the containers of other food items. 2. Staff rude. 3. Expensive for what it is.

The stuff is so shockingly rude! My husband got a tuna sandwich from them and coffee, and I got J&J, he left to waitrose while I had to jump on a quick call on my laptop when few ladies came and start shouting at me, offend me and they literally got my table out so I had to catch my laptop, they touched all my things, my phone and removed it!!! I told them I need 5 mins to finish the call and I am happy to bring table myself , they don't need to do that! How ridículos is that!!! After they were intentionally screaming next to me to disturb my call! It is shocking honestly, never have I ever experienced this type of service in the UK!

Sandwich tastes good to me. Just be careful as same food can result in different total prices sometimes. Only like 10 pence difference but that is arbitraging...

Have been to Birley for many years since I started working in Canary Wharf. Their salad was decent and reasonably priced. Their steak was the one thing that keep me going back. Went there today, the menu has completely changed. All the hot delis have been removed and everything is like extra charge. I do understand inflation, but will never go back again

I recently visited Birleys and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I ordered their chicken soup, but to my surprise, there was hardly any chicken in there. I had to double-check whether I had accidentally ordered a vegetarian soup. It was certainly not worth the high price they charged for it. I had heard good things about Birleys and was hoping for something different from the usual chain restaurants, but my expectations were not met. The staff seemed to be lost and there was clear lack of management or leadership in the restaurant, which resulted in poor service. The whole experience left me feeling disappointed, and I wouldn't recommend Birleys to anyone. The high prices combined with the poor quality of food and service are not worth it.

The best coffee in Canary Wharf accompanied by delicious breakfast sandwiches on soft, fluffy bread of your choice.

Birleys sandwiches are probably the only thing I’ll never tire of in this life. Sometimes the wait can be long for the salad, but sandwiches are usually pretty quick. Friendly staff. The Cajun chicken sandwich (if you like a lil spice) and mushroom, tarragon, chicken are my favourites.

Protein bowl has v little protein and lots of carbs. Not enough dressing so dry and uninspired veg options (sliced cucumber, shredded raw cabbage) . A poor man's poke bowl...except 7 quid for the basic.

Excellent selection of soups, salads and sandwiches. Salads made to order. Usually a queue at lunch times but worth the wait. Rarely get coffee or lunch anywhere else and have been using them on and off for over ten years.

The corn chowder soup is amazing on a cold winter day. Good size portion but for other made-to-order sandwiches for e.g. something simple as peanut butter on toast, you have to wait ages for them to make it even though there’s no one else in the queue. Why? They’re a bit slow and their tea/coffee places are a little on the expensive side but standard quality.

This place serves amazing soups at very reasonable price. The chicken soups for non-veg lovers and vegetarians have lentil soups. Little twist with red chilli paste and basmati rice under the soup and topping it up with coriander is just awesome. Do try it and treat your taste bud but the queue will test your patience

Wagamama’s a classic around the world, if you haven’t tried it yet, you might as well come. I’ve heard it’s Asian/Japanese, I am not entirely sure what it means. What I do know is that the food is food, there’s plenty of options and things you can play around with. I can’t say I’d recommend coming here as an absolute when you’re around the area, but if you are around and feel like some simple Asian food without having to spend too much it is a solid option.
