The order was delivered quickly and the driver was lovely. The food was delicious and piping hot. Portions were also very generous. Excellent value for money.

Got a spam call from the restaurant pretending to be a three operator agent offering 5% discount on my next bill and asking for me personal details

Ordered from them for the first time on the advice of friends. They were helpful and friendly. Ordered for the two of us and it was here in Ainsdale 40 minutes later. The food was very good. So was the price. Best sag aloo I've ever had. This will be our Indian takeaway of choice from now.

Unfortunately I am writing this review starving we placed the order just after 5 pm and was told just over the hour, after an hour and a half phoned to check were they were up to with our order and was told the driver was out ,so ok it's on it way , then after 2 hrs we phoned again ,this time it's 10 to 15 mins away , after half an hour and still no show , we phoned to cancel, their excuse was ,we are very busy and it's raining ,,I had to chuckle over the phone and he was offering us free poppadoms , well that's going to make me change my mind , then after 15 mins from canceling, the poor driver turns up in the rain ,bone dry because he's in his car , , sorry guys never again ,

Have been regulars with the Birkdale Tandoori for a couple of years, however our recent takeaway was one of the worst we've ever had. Must have a new chef - all dishes were bland and unpleasant - only decent item was the bread. So disappointed time to try somewhere new.

Turned up to collect food 40 minutes after it had been ordered as instructed only to find they had not even started cooking it yet as they had ran out of a main ingredient for one of the meals. No phone call to let us know or apology but offered an alternative which I begrudgingly accepted (should have cancelled it there and then in hindsight!). Very cold and bland food. Only went as our other favourite Indian is closed on a Tuesday will definitely not be going back.

Items from the meal were missing and rang to follow up on the order and was hung up on, will not be going again, staff where rude and dismissive. Meal was cold when rest of the items arrived as it took 20 plus minutes since initial order.

This gem of a takeaway has really enjoyable food. We cannot praise it enough and we wish they would open a restaurant. Lovely staff and great value.

Wait time online was 50 mins, 1 hour by phone, Chased them twice before cancelling, Disgusting slow rude service. 2 Hours in total.

Since our favourite restaurant closed a few weeks ago, we have been searching for a good Indian (restautant or takeaway) and after trying several we tried Birkdale Taandori. WOW...fantastic food and we have driven past this place many times with living in Birkdale and cannot beleive we not tried it before. This is our 2nd curry from here ...and many more to come... would highly recommend to try here if you not been before.

Food was lovely cannot fault it really nice tender meat in the Curry. Food came on time too. We have ordered from here a few times over the years and it's never let us down, one of the best Indians in Southport 😄🍽

We've been going to this takeaway for years but, unfortunately, since Barry left, it's really gone downhill. Yesterday we ordered Korai and Pasanda - dishes we've enjoyed dozens of times in the past. Sadly, this time, the chicken was stringy, the Korai was swimming in fat and the Pasanda sauce tasted as though it had come out of a packet. Also, the usual mint sauce and onion salad was missing. On top of that, when I tried to pay with my card, the man taking the order got a bit stroppy and when I said that I didn't have much money on me because most shops were asking for cards rather than cash (Covid 19), he insisted I give him what cash I had and then he'd take the rest on a card. When there are so many good Indian restaurants in Southport doing a takeaway service I don’t think we need this. We won’t be back

All I get is abuse and shouted at because customers food is more than 3 hrs late and cold.not only that. The owner has started paying us less and less each shift

Just had a delivery and have to say was very quick and food was delicious. Would highly recommend and will definitely be ordering from there again.

Due to Corona we all have to stay in and we tried this restaurants takeaway for the first time. Omg it was gorgeous and really fast delivery. We will order from them again and hopefully after Corona will go and visit the restaurant.

This takeaway has to be the best Indian for miles. The chef is amazing. Food is excellent and you can pick up or get home delivery

We are looking for a new Indian take away as our favourite has changed owners and isn't good. We ordered one of our favourite combinations of Lamb Biryani and Murghi Massala. Food was ordered at 5.10. Delivery supposed to be 6.30, arrived at nearly 6.45. Temperature was OK. Both meals were very oily, especially the rice in the Biryani. The overall flavour of the Massala and vegetable curry for the Biryani was strangely sweet. Unfortunately I also found small bones and cartlidge in the chicken pieces. Nothing like the meals we used to have. We will carry on looking for another good Indian take away.

This place is just amazing...it’s the nearest thing I’ve had to authentic Indian food...I’m in India a lot! Yes it a takeaway but boy if the food fantastic

I ordered a take-away meal for 2 on Saturday evening but as I had no cash I couldn’t use my normal restaurant, so had to use one which used an on-line payment .... what a find ! The on-line ordering was easy, the delivery arrived sooner than expected , and the value for money was second to none. But the food quality and flavours were simply the best ! My dish was made extra hot as requested , and we received a few complimentary extra’s with the meal too. I will definitely be using The Birkdale Tandoori again ... thankyou.

Ordered two takeaways over a period of three weeks and it was the best Indian takeaway I’ve ever had. Delicious food which was piping hot

I have been to India many times and I can honestly say that this is the only Indian takeaway that comes close to the authentic flavour of India

I have used Birkdale Tandoori for over ten years now, I think recently it may have changed hands as service certainly not as good as it used to be. Rang up and ordered as usual and waiting time was forty minutes. I get there and they had not prepared full order as they had forgotten parts.I am then requested to go to the bank as they do not accept card or Apple Pay payments. Not very impressed as could have gone to the shop and bought the ingredients myself and do a better job. Gone are the days of customer service and the free bottle of whiskey at Christmas!

First time calling this takeaway for delivery!

A group of us ordered a delivery after the England football match this weekend. The service was very prompt and friendly , and the food quality was as good as I have had in any of my favourite Indian Restaurants in the town centre. I will definitely be using them again ( hopefully after watching England win the World Cup Final this weekend !! )

Best Indian takeaway in area by far! Been using these guys for ten plus years,,,,,always superb! Guys are lovely, always do their best..... LOVE IT!

Ordered Indian takeaway, advised 1 hour wait. Food came after 2 hours. When the food was delivered it was incredibly bland and tasteless. Frozen veg appeared to be used. Probably the worst meal I have ever eaten. A tin of tomato soup has more flavour. Avoid if you are hungry as it takes hours, avoid if you want an Indian, it has no flavour.

Completamente pesimo servicio Pedimos 3 veces desde aquí. La primera vez fue buena comida. La segunda vez tuve que llamar una hora después me dijeron que tardaba, me dijeron que estaban muy ocupados, pero sería entregado en los próximos 15 minutos, el cual fue, sentí que no tenía que llamé me hubiera estado esperando mucho más tiempo.

Our family have always eaten here, and the food never fails to impress. Never had a bad meal, and reasonably priced. Quick service, friendly staff. Will return

Great Indian takeaway that does delivery! Good menu. Food is delicious and the portions are large. Staff are helpful and will advise if you are unsure.

Have a curry from here 2 or 3 times a year when visiting family. It has improved since last visit but still remains 'an average' curry

Nice food, good quality and generous portions. This take away delivers for a small cost. The cost is similar to restaurant prices but the food is well worth a visit.

Birkdale tandoori has incredible food. Its fresh, great tasting and always spot on. Our only complaint would be time that it takes for a takeout order. We often times wait onwards of an hour to an hour and a half for our food which seems quite lengthy. Other than that, we really enjoy the food.

I walked the 0.4 mile to this takeaway rather than the one on my doorstep. The member of staff was friendly, and said they would halve the £2 delivery charge for orders under £12 if in the future I chose delivery. Although I'd mentioned my usual was a mere 90 second stroll with a comparable menu and price list, I felt this was hardly going to wrestle my business away in this age of austity. I ordered a lamb karahi with pillau rice with chips. I'm always disappointed, and hark back to the days when chips didn't mean the excuse now served. McDonald's has its place, but at least they advertise that excuse as French fries!Call me xenophobic, but serve me an English chip if your advertising them as such, this isn't France. The karahi itself was as bland as the base curry any restaurant has preperared, the rice was as good as any in a packet you microwave. In my appraisal, I'd rate roughing it on a curry night in a wetherspoons full of drunken tramps a more satisfying culinary experience!

Had the murgh special with pilau rice. The main dish was very tasty, however the rice was very salty and swimming in ghee which was a big let down. My partner enjoyed her korma and her peshwari nan was good. Being virtually on the doorstep, we'll try here again, but initial impressions are that the food is average at best.

Didn't know that Birkdale Tandoori was under new management. Kitchen area modernised ...so you can see the chefs cooking and preparing food....so fantastic!!! I ordered chicken tikka starter, meat somosa's and lamb tikka biryani. I phoned and asked the woman to make sure it was a spicy veg. curry with the main. 30 mins. and ready...First of all the homemade meat somosa was delicious with a smooth spicy dip that I must have the recipe for it is amazing. The chicken tikka was yummy..enough to serve two ....and salad fresh with lovely sauce. The lamb tikka biriyani again...authentic and fresh.....and hooray!!!! a nice spicy veg. curry.....and all for under £12 my only disappointment is that I ate it all....and didn't save any for breakfast. Well done guys and the lovely lady who answers the phone and delivers :-}

Lovely food, always spot on and fresh. Their chicken Korma is fantastic. Highly recommend for a nice takeaway.

This has got to be the second best curry house in southport food is hot fresh and lovelly . The two servers are really friendly I would highly recommend trying the.good here

We have ordered from here without issue in the past but our last delivery was a bit of a disaster. We were told 45 minutes but it took twice that time. We then discovered that items were missing. All the food went in the oven while we rang up and waited for them to be delivered. No apology when we finally received them. If it was my business I would have included a couple of onion bhajis by way of saying sorry. Seems silly to receive poor ratings for the sake of a bhaji or "sorry." After all that the meal wasn't the best either. Chicken not marinated properly and on the tough side. I think it's time we found a different Indian takeaway.

Awful food worst I've had, rice is dry in your mouth, curry just tasted of a lot of black pepper, chutneys were nothing special at all, 2 hour delivery well past given time slot probably nearer to 3 hours, food forgotten and it seemed a problem to them to bring forgotten bits to us. Do not order from here, you will be wasting your money.

Been going to Birkdale Tandoori since it opened years and years ago.Have tried others but we always say not as good as the tandoori that goes for restaurants to.the meals are always tasty and full bodied!!it may take a long time but its worth the wait.

After a 90 minute wait from order to delivery I was sorely disappointed by the offerings! To start with, the food was obviously cold and had to go in the oven for 20 minutes to warm up. The mushroom rice was swimming in oil. The Tandoori Mix was absent the prawn that was advertised. Onion naan bread that didn't have a hint of garlic in it. The Onion Bhaji starter was the only dish that was edible.I immediately rang the establishment regarding the excessive wait and even though he agreed it was unacceptable he promptly put the phone down on me! Will never get my business again.

We've been here numerous times now and have never been disappointed with the food. The prawn puri is absolutely delicious, the chicken jalfrezi is stonking (chef loves his chillies!) and in particular the sag aloo is the best we have ever tasted...all cooked very well and at a price that's unbelievable. The guy on the front desk is always smiling and willing to help. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESS!

Tried elsewhere this evening and was disappointed - won't be happening again. The meal we received from an established Southport restaurant not a patch on here. Have only scored less on value for money as can be expensive for a family.

Best Indian food in Southport by far, it's not a fancy 'cuisine' type restaurant, its a traditional Indian, they have the most delicious curries and fresh naan and the staff are always very friendly and attentice. We have eaten Indian food from here for over ten years and it has always been perfect, have never had cause to complain. They also do takeaway and the food is exactly the same and arrives fresh and hot.

Upon seeing the Birkdale Tandoori the first thing to cross your mind is - traditional. Its appearance does bring about a feeling of nostalgia and this feeling continues as you enter.The atmosphere encompases a relaxed efficiency which is personified by the friendly, extermely-knowledgable staff behind the counter. I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered my food but the order being quite large and complex, I was expecting to find at least 1 area of fault. The food was cooked perfectly including the last minute additions we made, and it was all done in a very respectable time. My lamb and all the chicken dishes were amazing. I never normally order lamb in a place I haven't tried before and it's one of the few times I haven't regretted it.The entire experience was fantastic, and nobody was more surprised than me.
