We visited the Ashby shop. The pork and stuffing rolls are amazing, the cakes were a delight and the bread is amazing. The staff are friendly, professional and attentive.

Often pop in here for bread and cakes. Would highly recommend. Staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. You can also sit inside if you wish.

Coffee great but cakes poor quality. Staff rude and seating areas grubby. Not a place to seek out . Many better coffee shops in Ashby.

OMG, is this the rudest eatery in the UK. The heavy blonde woman who has featured much in these reviews served us. Got told off when I asked for a knife to eat my cake - "this isn't a cafe you know and btw there are no toilets". When we got our coffees she said sharply "make sure the lids are fully on before you start drinking them" If Birds isn't a cafe why do you charge VAT on purchases if you want to eat them inside? People in the queue were stunned at her outburst too. I noticed that the earliest negative review of her customer service was at least a year ago. So why is she still employed here Birds? To the lady herself: this job is clearly making you unhappy and stressed which is dreadful for your health. Perhaps you should get a different job.

Nice little bakery, with a few seats. Cakes are fab.

Paid for three cakes with a 20 pound note only to be given a condescending lecture from the woman behind the counter about how she has hundreds of customers every day and if they all paid with 20 pound notes she would have no change at all. I was so shocked that I found myself apologising and saying that I always do my best. She proceeded to tell me that I might like to think about that when shopping in the future. Once again I started stuttering and apologising. She wasn’t finished there either as she repeated herself. What I really should have done is take my hard earned 20 pounds and spent it somewhere where people appreciate customers. Not going there again!

We were a group of three dining in, We had latte's a tea and some Elephant's feet and a fresh cream doughnut. All were absolutely lovely. Staff were pleasant and even thanked me for throwing our litter away. Will definitely return when we're next visiting ADLZ.

I went to the Ashby de la Zouch branch and was served by an overweight blonde shop assistant with glasses. I ordered 2 sausage rolls, she placed them into 1 bag. I asked the member of staff for a paper bag for each sausage roll, as they were for takeaway and for two individuals. She then stood there sternly/angrily saying 'save the planet', insinuating we are destroying the planet. I said we would need a bag each, as we stated we did not want to burn our hands. The member of staff stated you will not burn your hands, with some thin tracing paper being sufficient. I did not pay and left the sausage rolls and walked out. Absolutely disgusting to treat a customer like that. Staff should keep their personal views to themselves. She ended up wasting the paper bags anyway, as they had to go in the bin, once we had left. A lost sale, who else is she doing this too?

Amazing food ! Amazing service. Just amazing!

My mum moved down south a couple of years ago to be nearer to us and she was reminiscing about Birds and how good their food was. Nothing we could find matched her memory of your sausage rolls. For Mothers Day I ordered her some, along with some other treats, via your online ordering. I know she misses Ashby a lot and the delivery bought a tear to her eye. She reports that the food is just as good as ever! Delivery arrived well packaged and prompt. Thanks so much!!!

Why does their cream have literally no taste? Where is the joy in eating this!?

Cafe not working. Told to sit and they'd bring coffee over. Had to go back to counter for sugar. Had to then ask for stirrer. Slapped on counter with irritation. Staff clearly don't think they should have to do cafe side of business.

Went in was queing out the door the woman had to ask me what i wanted multiple times and still forgot, got home to eat my bacon cob and they gave me a sausage cob. they didn’t offer me a receipt either

Went in for lunch whilst the pork cob was great the staff were anything but! Got told off as I was being served already and then I ordered two cakes from another staff member & got told this was not how they worked and she could be serving the one lady behind me they all proceeded to stare at me and tut lol🤣🤣! cakes half the price in Melbourne village

Would give 0 stars if i could. Went to Birds Bakery today in Ashby with my wife and child. The women was rude behind the counter, clearly missed the customer service training as she had a face like a slapped a**e and to top it off the food was burnt.

Lovely cakes large and fresh, nice staff but only 4 stars as the staff do not wear masks and we believe they should as they are serving food.

Everything you want, birds are the best

Birds bakeries absolutely disgrace. Demanding card payments only and refusing cash which is illegal!!! cash is legal tender everywhere. This morning I have watched them turn away 4 pensioners for only having cash . So now the elderly and the vulnerable are having to go without the essential because of this company . boycott it and make sure it goes bust

As a visitor to Ashby had read about Birds Bakery online and certainly didn't disappoint loved everything we bought staff were friendly we even bought some cakes to eat on the coach on are way home to Somerset but keeping them until we got home we will defiantly be paying them several vists when we return to Ashby next month a great friendly place Somerset could learn from you well done Ashby Great Town, Great People Maggie Chris in Somerset

Lady behind counter was rude to me, saying I wasnt allowed in because I had a dog with me. I know that, that's why I had been standing at the door trying to get her attention whilst she chatted to her colleague. What appalling service.
