Lovely old feel about the place with friendly locals at the bar. Food shack out the back serving gorgeous Greek food. Highly recommend.

Good place to go to meet friends and chill or for a quick drink while waiting for the Greek takeaway next door. Both places highly recommended!

Lovely pub especially on a sunny day. The pub garden is a great place to sit out and watch birds while enjoying a drink and a bite to eat.

Proper Greek serve food and it is amazing. All the bar staff are wonderful. Definitely recommend. The park does some amazing work with rare animals

Love this pub it was our half way home place to catch our breaths from going up that hill very old and traditional but everyone was very friendly they do street food only and that's from Wednesday to Saturday pm also we think they have a resident ghost called Charlotte yepee will definitely be returning

As soon as we got there they kindly refreshed the dogs water bowl. Lovely little pub with kind staff.

The worst meal we have ever had. What a disappointment from what you used to have to what you are now serving. The old chef had a wonderful menu and the food was hard to beat. Now you have a menu that’s not fit for purpose, overpriced and overcooked. The pub is wonderful, but sadly the kitchen will bring your business down. Unless there is a drastic change we won’t be back. If I could give less than one star I would.

First visit here and coming here on reviews. Had a drink but pub seemed quite noisey and loud so didn't stop for food. Personally I prefer a warm cosy pub.

A warm welcome from everyone in this quirky pub, excellent value Sunday Lunch choice of beef, turkey or gammon, fresh veg , mash and roast . Party of 4 tried all three meats and they were all outstanding quality. Recommended

Food really great and good value for money. Would recommend the all day breakfast. Sausages were first class best breakfast I have had for a long time. Nice outdoor area and also good for sports on TV. It also has a snooker room which must be upstairs

Lovely Sunday roast and very good for value!

Nice beer garden, loads of parking if you go after Paradise Park has emptied out. Really good pub grub and the waitresses were really sweet. Prices are reasonable too! Don't get there too late, as they stopped taking food orders after 7pm, because they were so busy. Check days they're open for food in the evening, because I think they said they were closed on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Anyway...was a nice way to round off a trip to Paradise Park with the family.

The Bird in Hand never ceases to amaze me. We visit at least once during our annual 2 week trip to Cornwall and the food is always amazing. Very reasonably priced and the drinks are too. The staff are always really friendly. Would definitely recommend visiting here, make sure you reserve a table so you are not disappointed.

Highly recommended for unpretentious but good quality home cooking. Great value. We were recommended to try the Sunday Roast - lunch and evening, and have returned for other lunch and evening meals with friends (and family dogs). Owners and staff are all brilliant, do a great job, and show real interest in ensuring we have a great visit. We return this week and will buy a loyalty card to enjoy even better prices on future visits. Thanks

Went to watch a band the atmosphere was brilliant the bear was well priced.

Fantastic food, didn't look much when we went in but had a table and ordered our food, fish and chips, fish was huge, tasted great with plenty of chips, scampi and chips, plenty on the plate great taste. And mixed grill, every piece of meat was cooked to perfection, very little fat, plenty of food on the plate and tasted great. Will definitely go back when we're in the area again. Visited again over the weekend while on our short break with our dog, pub is very dog friendly allowed us to take dog inside to eat our meal, mixed grill was great and booked for their Sunday lunch for the following day which was very nice, gravy was a little runny but that's not a complain it's just us Welsh like our gravy thick. Will be back next year.

Friends and I all agree .... The main course we ordered was lovely. This was ordered at the bar our table was reserved for 6pm. No one came to the table to say we are turning the ovens off there will be NO deserts. When the waitress was collecting our plates we asked for the desert menu and was told the kitchen is closed! It would have been appreciated if this had been mentioned earlier as it was before 7.30pm

Visited twice. First time, just a couple of drinks. Then booked a table for a meal, the next day. Which happened to coincide with the FA cup final, and also an American car meet in the car park. So was a very interesting evening. Food excellent. Good choice. Good portions. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Late on a Tuesday lunchtime, we were the only people in but the 2 real Ales were in good condition and our barmaid made us very welcome. Amazing 3D mural on the wall.

Great food, much better than the outside would lead you to believe. Freshly cooked food, salad and even a freshly made creme brulee.

We had the Sunday lunch, it was the best one I've ever had, the beef was cooked to perfection as we're the veg. We returned a few days later, hubby had the salmon, I had home made chicken, leek & ham pie which were absolutely beautiful. The staff were very welcoming and polite. Wonderful experience both times

Enjoyed a great meal at the Bird in hand this evening, we had prebooked a number of weeks ago. Our group was large and consisted of four families. Service was swift but not rushed and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Chef did a great job of getting all the meals out together. Good hearty meals tasted great and were generous in size, we all left extremely full (stuffed) and happy.

Miserable landlord..Shocking service by him, perhaps he should let the pleasant girls do front of house...
