Lovely restaurant tucked away in Gorse Covert. Hidden gem.

2nd visit and it was still as good as the first time absolutely amazing food and service again

This place never disappoints. Its work the drive across town to eat here. Highly recommended eat in or takeaway, service is amazing too.

Can't fault the food, service and atmosphere.

Regular visitor here, sometimes for a pint with the locals and often for a dine in or take away. On this particular occasion we were with a party of 11 at a 21st. All dishes were timed perfectly with no uncomfortable waits and standard was excellent as always. Chan and the team run an outstanding restaurant and pub.

We would like to say what an amazing night we had for our 50th wedding anniversary at birchwood spice the food was excellent the service and organisation was faultless we were a party of 33 can't speak more highly of the whole experience 10 out of 10 thanks again SUE AND STAN.

He said I wouldn't be disappointed...he was right, so was the lovely customer who chimed in too. Had a takeaway from here last night. It was all delicious, finished the leftovers today. The ingredients were good quality and well prepared. Never even heard of a Murgh Kali Mirch before, had it with Chicken Tikka, would definately recommend. Price was as expected.

We have eaten in, at this restaurant previously, today we had a takeaway. Had rib eye thawa and a lamb shank, absolutely fabulous food enjoyed at home with a wine and beer. Lucky to have this excellent Indian restaurant right on our doorstep.

Just a take away on this occasion but food was prepared fresh piping out and reasonably priced.

Hands down the best Indian in Warrington. Fairly priced, all authentic food and a good range of food to suit everyone. Food is full of flavour and always really fresh. I've never had a bad meal from here. They do a take away and a delivery service as well, all staff are really friendly and lovely giving a great service. 100% would recommend. There's a pub there too so if you want a bevvy then you can. This place has never let me down and the delivery is normally spot on or early. Good portion sizes too.

Friendly waiting staff. Cosy environment and decoration. I and my family are particularly fond of the papadam and chutney starter. Afghan lamb is also our favourite.

I live in Gorse Covert and feel genuinely lucky to have Birchwood Spice on my doorstep. One of the best takeaways (and dine ins) I’ve ever been to! Always great food. Keep up the good work guys and gals :)

6 of us was catered for within 20mins of asking for a table. Very well looked after, and fed

It was our first time here and went along with a few very good friends of ours. The service was fab, the guys most attentive and entertaining. The plates were hot and the dishes perfect on a set of hot plates keeping things hot throughout the meal.. The combination of an Indian restaurant in with a local pub works really well as we could have a relax with a drink after our meal.. No wonder the place was packed mid week. We shall be returning!

Suggested this restaurant to my work colleagues for an evening meal after reading the reviews. Totally surprised all my colleagues who were all delighted with their meal. Everything was delicious from starters to main courses. Really fresh quality throughout. Service was excellent. Nothing rushed, allowing us to enjoy the food and our conversations.

Came for a meal here with friends a few days ago and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was great, service was very attentive and food was absolutely delicious! By far one of the best curry houses around hands down! Will definitely be visiting again soon!

Genuinely the worse curry I’ve had . Absolutely no spice in curry and it was Ment to be hot , stale popadoms , hour and half wait . Smallest portions even the chutney was half filled . Even the coke was flat and tasted funny. Only the locals eat this cos it’s the only curry house for miles

Found this en route from Warrington to manchester. Was skeptical about it being in a pub but wow! Brilliant food and service. Quiet place and lovely place to enjoy a meal. A little hot in the restaurant but it was an unusually hot summers day. Will be coming back!

Went with my two boys 11 and 10. Beautiful food. Fresh and very tasty. Onian bhajis, wow. Try them. Cobra on tap and cold. Will be going again with my wife next time.

Went as a mature party of 4, couldn't fault the food it was delicious. The waiters were delightful and attentive. We stayed for ages as the atmosphere was brilliant. Definitely recommend this place.

Over priced an not very not nice. Onion Bagi tasteless. Poppadoms tasteless an a bit stale. Chicken Madras. Tomato soup with curry powder. Nan bread undercooked and chewy. £20 and it all went in the bin. Definitely not our taste

I went to use the toilet and the floor was filthy, slippery, and had water or pee on the floor. I hadn't even finished my food yet, and they were bagging all of it up! Otherwise the service was good.

Last Sunday 5 of us enjoyed a superb meal delivered by efficient staff at a price we had to check twice. Starting off with popodoms and samosas with giant onion bhajis which were devoured in short time. We each had a different main course that were shared between us because they were great to taste accompanied with pilau rice and my first experience of vegetable pilau rice. The bill for all this lovely food came to £82. It was worth driving the 20 miles from Hartford to experience.

A little lacking in atmosphere if the "Poacher Pub" side is a very busy or noisy. But this depends on time you go really. Food is excellent and staff polite. Better than any curry house in Culcheth.

Just had a meal tonight at the Birchwood Spice, for 12 family adults and one child to celebrate a family members birthday. The food was delicious and the service brilliant. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that the family enjoyed the special outing. If you are looking for a great family meal with excellent service try the Birchwood Spice you won’t be disappointed. Starters and Mains equally delicious.

Called in with no reservation but still managed to be seated. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful. Would certainly recommend.

Food was nice and staff were very friendly and helpful. However on the day we visited it was unbelievably hot inside the restaurant and the place was crawling with flies which kept landing on the food and cutlery. Only for the fact we were attending a family celebration and did not want to upset our hosts we would not have stayed.

We ordered a take away on a Friday, it was ready for us in half an hour, lovely flavourful food, great service, couldn't recommend more!!

Two of us sat down in a nice atmosphere,with the tastiest Indian food I've had for a long while. This probably tops all the ones I have had. I don't write a lot of reviews but I had to write about this one . Definitely go out your way and try this.

This place was amazing. Due to a miss heard order on the phone got a extra hot instead of medium hot. They remade the order and were very apologetic. The food is also amazing and a discount when you order out and collect.

A great place for a curry, where the staff actually want you to enjoy your meal. A curry that doesn't arrive with a layer of oil on top of it. Only downside is the noise from the pub section.

Nothing can be faulted. Food was fantastic. Mixed starter super succulent and tasty. Mains beautiful. Service impeccable. The young man who attended out table was absolutely awesome. Day 2 on the job, comfortable, attentive, intelligent, funny, and a great advocate for the air fryer to warm Naan bread. Amazing young man. But what struck me was how the ethos of care flows down through the management of this establishment to the employees. Five stars all round. Food, service, employee care, customer care. Perfect!

Eaten here on several occasions with family and friends and always had a fantastic experience. Very friendly staff who look after you during your visit and good atmosphere. The food is also amazing with great portions. Plenty of parking too which is a bonus. Would def recommend

We called in to try Birchwood Spice last night before going to the cinema, and we were both really impressed with the service but especially the food. We've been to many of the Indian Restaurants in Warrington over the years, some have impressed, some have disappointed, but Birchwood Spice definitely impressed! Right from the starters we knew that this was quality cooking - the vegetable samosas were the best we've tried, and the quality (and flavour) continued in the main courses. This is proper Indian cuisine that focuses on blends of spices and fresh flavours over heat and is priced as such, previously we've had to travel into Culcheth to enjoy food like this but no more, we will definitely be making Birchwood Spice our regular Indian Restaurant from now on, and we already can't wait to try more dishes of the menu. They are still in their opening week, so are obviously keen to impress, but if the quality and taste of the food continues there is no reason why this can't become a destination restaurant and earn a reputation of one of the best Indian Restaurants in Warrington... Update: Since Google asked for an update I will oblige. I can confirm that several years on it is as good if not better than when they first opened. We have never had a disappointing meal and it is as good as any fine dining Indian you'll find in Warrington. The lamb dishes in particular are very good and they even do Donner meat and chips now if you fancy junk food on your way home from the pub (but not donner meat like you've ever tasted it is Indian style and delicious). It really is a jewel in the area as demonstrated by the public outcry and campaign when it was nearly forced to close due to the pub lease expiring, in the end the brewery gave the lease to Birchwood Spice directly, which says a lot. It's a great pub, a great restaurant, and a great take away and Gorse Covert is lucky to have it...

It was Busy when I had a takeaway

The food is outstanding never had a bad meal here always fabulous. Extensive menu and is licensed to serve alcohol which is great as you don’t have to worry about bringing your own. The owners are so friendly and the service is always 10/10. From the host to the wait staff to the chef all our welcoming and show great hospitality. There is onsite free parking.

Excellent food and takeaway service! We love a curry and usually go to same place every time as we cannot match it, but tonight we found somewhere that did! Excellent flavours, proper mushroom rice, and a garlic and chilli naan made with fresh green chillies which I struggle to find! Fab meal and will defo order again! 😊😊😊

First visit whilst visiting friends in Warrington. The pub/restaurant was very busy at 7.15pm on a Friday night. Lots of children running about in the pub area and they were still in there when we left 3 hours later. We received a warm welcome and we’re seated quickly. An extensive menu. The portion sizes are huge. Service was good and quality of food was excellent. Very reasonably priced. If you are looking for a quiet meal this isn’t the place, but if you enjoy a busy environment with great food this restaurant is ideal.

Pleasant experience from start to finish, good location with ample parking, which is always a bonus. Friendly greetings on arrival, seated and given the comprehensive menu to choose from. Drinks pre-dinner were very reasonably priced, probably the advantage of the restaurant being situared in a locals pub. Food was ordered and produced quickly, the portion sizes were pleasantly surprising and the food was lovely and hot. My starter, the Chicken Chat, was lovely being in a soft, fresh, puree and a delicious plentiful filling. The main courses were equally as good. Thank you so much to the staff and management team for giving us a great meal and a very pleasant evening. We will be retuning soon.

I got a takeaway delivered. It was really tasty and all the ingredients tasted fresh. They gave me recommendations for meat and dairy free options. Really pleased to finally have a nice Indian take away near by that delivers.
