Went to Chennai for our Anniversary, food and service was amazing. Abdul was really good with us, will be definitely going back again 👍🏼

The service isn’t great, ended up bringing our mains out at the same time as our poppadoms (cos they took 20 minutes to bring out the poppadoms). If you want a curry surrounded by rough people go here, the clientele is shocking to be honest. Full of loud mouths and tramps. Shame because the food is actually really good, should just stop letting scruffy people In. Only reason it’s not 1 star is because the food’s good. Up tha tics

A disappointing meal , the chicken tikka seemed more steamed than tandoori. Curry’s were more like children’s curry , no substance to them . Will not visit again .

Dined here with family for the first time on Thursday night at 18:00, by 19:00 the restaurant was full, the food was delicious, the service fantastic, this really is a super Indian Restaurant with great friendly humorous staff, we will be back! Thank you! Keep it up!

Abdul was absolutely lovely 😊 It was my Birthday and they all brought out a suprise birthday cake and sang happy birthday, it was lovely aswell as embarrassing lol 🤭 Abdul made me a beautiful complimentary cocktail which was gorgeous 😍 😋 Overall really enjoyed my experience, I will definitely be returning ☺️

Decided to try this place as the road to Culcheth was closed. Didn't enjoy the food, the chicken wasn't right, maybe not fresh/reheated. The guy serving was pleasant but absolutely no atmosphere. It was very quiet but I'm not surprised as i could not recommend. No comparison or competition with The Raj, Culcheth where I'll be returning even if it means diverting along the Lancs. Sorry !

Wow what an experience! Brought my wife, and daughter for her 22nd birthday. We all loved it... The food was absolutely superb, I've had hundreds of curries but Chennai had several of their own variations I've NEVER seen anywhere else... I can't wait to come back and try them another time! Fantastic quality, taste and price. The drinks were really reasonably priced and we were treated like royalty! Best service I've witnessed in a long time. It couldn't have been a better experience. Highly recommended!! ❤️

Update : I have just been and had to wait over 30 minutes longer than the original 40 minutes they said our takeaway would be. Not impressed by this at all. Big queue of other folk waiting. Sorry but true. Original post : Managed to miss part of the order so had to go back and it wasn't ready to collect as they said it would be. Not exactly a takeaway meal together !

Good food ,lovely atmosphere & very attentive staff

Visited here on Saturday for the first time and can honestly say I was let down. Once we were seated, we ordered drinks. At first, we were given the wrong drinks. Next, we ordered starters. Again, these got mixed up yet again with the table next to us but other than that, the starters were ok. Mains arrived correct this time and the food was piping hot. Sadly, that's all the positive I can say because I've had more flavour accidentally ingesting bath water than the mains we supposedly had. The chicken had no flavour and neither did the sauce. My parents are a long-term activist for Chennai but even their last takeout was the same.

Food and staff excellent and very helpful when ordering. Well looked after restaurant and service very good. Had takeaway many times and never disappointed with any dishes picked. Thanks for making our birthdays so special . Recomend the Nepalese or the pathia dishes, taste is divine.

WOW, really do rate this restaurant 👏.came with my Mrs after reading reviews & a recommendation from a friend. It's a MUST to visit. Firstly, the service is very personal and inviting from the moment you step in the door. Prawn Chat & Butterfly King Prawn starters were very tasty. My main was Afghani with Fish instead of Chicken (as I don't eat meat). It wasn't on the menu, but upon asking, it wasn't a problem at all. I've got to say it's the most succulent, tasty Afghani dish I can remember having. Will definitely be revisiting these in the near future. 5 🌟 all day long. The staff & Chefs go above & beyond. Thanks, we are going again at the weekend with our friends. Dave & Alison x

Came for my birthday tea Tuesday night. Food and service was first class as always. Been here many times and never been less than outstanding. Best Indian I've ever had.

Everything about ‘Chennai’ is first class. Could enjoy a good evening with some delicious Indian dishes. The restaurant manager and the staff, Aminul, who took care of us deserve a shoutout. Definitely recommend for a great meal and calm atmosphere.

The best curries I've ever had the pleasure of eating from the tip of Africa all the way to the Chennai restaurant. Absolutely amazing food and a brilliantly clean and welcoming place. I’ve not been out for an Indian in a while Chennai service and food was of the highest standard. The first thing I notice was the quality of the food products, the meat was amazing and cook well remaining succulent. The portions were generous and authentic in the production. I had an amazing curry which was rich in flavour and accompanied by fluffy keema rice and nan. I would highly recommend this restaurant to you all.

We have been coming here for many years and we have always been happy. However, we went on Friday and had a wake up call. The food quality was shocking. Onion Bhajis were really thick, floury and dry, and the meat stuffed mushrooms were made with old mushrooms. For many years I have had Salmon Shaslick, on Friday it was the worst salmon I have ever had. When it arrived it was completely black, you could bounce it, it was tough to cut. When I sent it back, the waiter acknowledged that he was surprised it was sent out of the kitchen like that. I didn't reorder the same dish, so I ordered a chum chum. The chicken was old, chewy and of poor quality. To top this off, the man on the next table to us was vaping, and there was clouds of smoke. When I brought it up with a waiter, he said management accept vaping in there and there was nothing they could do. I personally don't want to eat my food in a cloud of vape. We mentioned it to another waiter and he did speak to the person vaping. Very poor atmosphere, staff not great and absolutely I won't go again due to vaping being approved of. I also learnt that management has changed , and absolutely its very obvious.

Cracking food. Cracking service. Was a little rowdy for a restaurant, but that aside. Highly recommended.

Ordered takeaway for NYE. Food was outrageously tasty. All items were well cooked with great flavour. My partner was offered a complimentary beer on arrival, great touch for NYE. Pick up time was given on order and food was promptly avaliable on arrival. Good.portion sizes and great value for money with price reduced for pick up too. Be sure to order direct with Chennai. Will definitely be returning to try the in-house dining experience!

Polite and friendly. Good quality food. If you’ve ordered take away, double the time they told you. They have never not had me sat around for 15-20mins at least before the food is even ready to take out.

This is the best Indian restaurant in the North West (imo). Great food, friendly team, a warm welcome and comfortable modern layout. Good selection of dishes in which you can taste the difference in the different curry types (unlike some restaurants I have visited). 20% saving if ordering a takeaway. They have just added an app to their website which makes ordering easier, especially at the weekend when it gets busy. You can also specify a time slot. You might even get a free bottle or 2 of cobra depending on the order value. Give it a try, the best for miles around.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and we were looking for a good restaurant, the landlady recommended Chennai Indian restaurant. We turned up with out a booking. We were welcomed in and shown to a table by a very nice, cheerful and personable young man. He guided us through the menu warning us of the very very generous portions they serve. The food was fabulous, the service brilliant all in all a fantastic experience.😀😀👍👍

First time in Chennai this evening… by far the best Indian restaurant in the area. Food and service was excellent and some really original dishes.

Really good place to meet up with mates for a good curry. Nice cobra pints alongside. Mixed grill starter was excellent- particularly the lamb chop. Friend had the extended kebab dish - amazing burst of flavour. Went for chicken shashlik korai for main - loads of flavour. Cracking dish. Peshwari Naan also good. Service excellent throughout.

I couldn’t face another in-hotel meal and found this gem all of a 5 minute drive from my hotel. A warm, attentive welcome followed by a meaningful discussion about choices meant I had a really good meal. Swift service, well cooked food and at really good value prices - what’s not to like? Judging by the large number of locals eating and ordering takeaway, this place has a strong reputation beyond my one-off visit. Seek it out and enjoy!

Another fantastic night the guys are amazing

This is my fourth time here Dining with local friends and we all loved this place. Faz's Service is great as always. Pint of Kingfisher which is come from my state Goa India. Poppadoms and pickles were a great combination - we had great company. Garlic nan with lamb chops cooked in Indian-style gravy was delicious. Overall food was Full of flavour. Good chunks of well cooked meat. A bit of rice and a Peshwari naan was perfect. Lovely meal. The price is not too bad. Love to come back. Akhilesh Rocky. Goa India

I love this Indian restaurant. The is always great and the staff are so kind and attentive. I have been to a lot of Indians in Warrington and for me this is one of the best in Warrington easily!!

Brilliant menu choices with excellent service, the staff like to chat and socialise with the guests. We sometimes have to consider how many courses we should order because it’s quite easy to be tempted into lots of food. On the plus side they’re always happy to package up the excess for taking home and another meal at home 👍

Good crowd in for a Monday night for a friends birthday. Two families of 4 had a great evening. Service good throughout the night. Kept the kingfisher flowing. Poppadoms demolished pretty quickly. Starters were good. Wife loved her fish pakora. Mixed tikka was excellent. Tak tak chicken main was v tasty. Nice little tang to it. Loved the beans and broccoli in there. Peshwari naan v good. Wife’s chicken tikka also v good. Everyone satisfied at the end. A good evening.

We held a family 21st party here last night. The staff were fantastic, well organised and patient. Every food course was first class. The whole experience was excellent throughout. I would like to thank the guys for making my son's birthday that bit more special. Cheers

We pass this please every single day and kept saying to ourselves. We must try as it always busy. We read the reviews and thought definitely must pop in there. Well the day has arrived last Sunday. We booked a table last minute, without any problem. On entering, we were greeted and Shown to our table, but straight off noticed how cold it was. Never mind we thought as it was early it would warm up. been in a lot of other places, where the staff are a little more attentive. Anyhow, we are used placed placed our order and waited around 30 minutes for our starters, which arrived overcooked. Our main course duly arrived after a little wait. Hmmmmm plates were cold, Pesana lamb was in a tomato base sauce and should of been called Mutton, not lamb. Egg fried rice never seen an egg and was as dry as the Sahara. Not a great meal, and not a great atmosphere will not visit again.

Worst indian meal I have ever had. I ordered a chicken tikka sizzler it was not a sizzler at all and the chicken was really hard. Plus we had to wait one hour for our main meal and I had to ask the waiter where it was. I know it was busy but I think they had forgotten us. When eventually the main meal arrived it was only just warm. I will not be going back to this restaurant ever again.

Dined at this restaurant a few times, and the food is always delicious. The staff are always helpful, and I would recommend this venue to anyone who enjoys the highest quality Indian food.

Lovely place food was great and the service was brilliant. Only bug was we were sat in a corner trying to eat a family meal with screaming table off 4 kids behind us and then a big party of there adult on a long table about 18 who did nothing to tell the kids to stop fighting shouting and arguing. Would have been nicer to not be on that side off the restaurant.

I absolutely love this restaurant. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. They always welcome us like old friends. The food has always been top quality, I have never had to complain about anything. If we dont eat out, we definitely use them for take away.

Been lots of times very disappointed with the food and service, 55 minutes after the poppadoms the mains arrived, nor very tasty and mine was dry, kept coming over to ask if we wanted more drinks probably to make us drunk so we didn't complain

Chicken chilli fry starter was absolutely amazing. Vegetable mix starter a very generous portion. Garlic chicken tak tak is an absolute revelation and the lamb passanda had been given tremendous care and attention to really bring out the coconut flavour. Dortmunder lager is a lovely...

Been to this restaurant on many occasions. Very disappointed tonight. Ordered king prawn delight £14.95 4 prawns overcooked. The rest was sauce Complained to the waiter. Nobody came back to address the problem. No apology or explanation. I know times are tough but come on.

Staying away on a work trip and what pleasant surprise.... food excellent and good service to match. Better than the local chain pub/restaurant up the road from the hotel. Busy on a Monday night too.... you don't see that very often these days!

I pass this restaurant regular so thought it was time to give it a try. It is a little more expensive than other local Indian takeaways, however don't let this put you off as it is by far the best tasting Indian takeaway I have...
