Monpura in Warrington

This was our second time at Monpura, both times were excellent. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The food was lovely and freshly cooked. All the food is great but the lamb chops are amazing and perfectly cooked. The Buttered chicken is the best we have tasted. Overall a great place to eat, we will definitely be returning.

Order via Uber eats, was served the worst stale poppadums we’ve ever eaten and tandoori chicken instead of chicken shashlik, called the restaurant and told to complain to Uber eats who like the restaurant couldn’t care less. Please avoid.

Wow ! First time here and I have to say it defo won’t be the last ! The food is amazing, nowhere compares or even gets near close as good as this ! The staff are brilliant too , full complements to the chefs and staff who took time out to come talk to us too , if I could give 10 stars I would ….will definitely be back ! Great visit to Monpura today . We’ve had takeaway a few times sticking with our usual Madras and Tikka but today we decided to eat in . I have a few issues diet wise but that was no problem. The gentleman that served us was very polite and knowledgable - he knew every dish and what it was made up of and then personalised it for me so the parts I can’t have weren’t in the dishes. That meant I had a worry free and excellent meal . We tried for the first time the Khubsurat on the gentleman’s recommendation - this was the dish that won them the Curry dish of the year award and it’s our new favourite. Amazing flavours. Service was excellent and it was all very clean. Uniquely in Stockton Heath you bring your own wine / beer and your charged a small fee to drink them which I think is an excellent idea. They don’t actually sell alcohol but do sell soft drinks - which as always aren’t that cheap but similar to what you pay in other restaurants. Overall a superb meal, with great staff - what’s not to like??!! Will most definitely be back.

We had an impromptu meal here last night, having walked past a number of times seeing the award winning review in the window. It was absolutely gorgeous! Lovely intimate atmosphere, food was fresh, flavoursome and really reasonable. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We didn’t know it was a bring your own alcohol, which was another plus as with Aldi across the road we were able to grab a bottle of wine/ few beers and keep the bill cost low! We’ll be back and will be taking advantage of the 20% delivery!!

Food was incredible. The manager talked us through the dishes we would be interested in. I asked if I can step up the heat from the previous time and it was incredible. He also recommended a new starter for us to try which was amazing. Service and food was perfect. Only been twice but will definitely be back again soon.

We booked a table last minute on a Saturday evening as a group of 4. What a find, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The place is only small but lovely atmosphere and the service was first class. It's a byo with a small corkage charge definitely will visit again.

We live in Stockton Heath and wouldn’t go anywhere else for an authentic dine in meal or takeaway. The quality of food, dine in experience and service is excellent and the food is just as amazing eaten at home. Much more interesting than your standard Indian restaurant. Ask the friendly staff for recommendations, they won’t disappoint!

The test and quality of the food was not good. The fish Brian no spices. Chicken Biryani didn’t taste good either. Lamb chops was also an attribute,even it was not well seasoned . The salad was not fresh. Compared to the price,The quality and teste was not good at all. I was not satisfied at all.

I can't recommend this enough, truly amazing food and attentive staff, happy yo discuss flavours and really helpful for food allergies as all meals are freshly prepared. We've eaten in and taken away, never had any issues.

Food was lovely, busy, but service was slow.

This is a small but friendly curry house with excellent service. Their were three of us, including one who is particularly picky about the flavour of a curry. Each of us was impressed, the food was extremely flavoursome and plentiful. Although this restaurant does not serve alcohol they are quite happy for you to bring your own.

Best curry house in Warrington. We visited on a Sunday 5.30pm. It's a small but cosy dining area. Waiter was very friendly and helpful and made the kids feel at home. The food was fantastic, it's classic curry house style but the Bangladeshi aspect makes it unique and the dishes were tasty and very smartly presented. It's alcohol free but allows "bring your own". Bill was excellent value. Kids menu. Large mango lassi jug was ace. Was only a few tables occupied but takeaway seemed busy with regulars.

Tried for the first time today and can honestly say this is the best in the area! Everything we ordered was 10/10. The Chicken Khubsurat was incredible, Jalfrezi was perfect, the pickle tray with poppadoms so flavourful. I love that it's a small restaurant, nice atmosphere and we are looking forward to returning to eat in. I like the idea of the BYOB as well. This is now my first choice for curry, highly recommend. Outstanding takeaway this evening. Mixed starter for two, delicious! Lamb Sultan, pilau rice and garlic and coriander naan, without doubt the best Indian main course I’ve had since moving to this area nearly nine years ago, and I’ve tried them all! As I said at the start…. Outstanding!

Beautiful food as always, have been a regular here since Mon Pura first opened and never had a disappointing meal! I have brought so many friends whom themselves have now become regulars! There's the personal touch you don't get with larger owned restaurants. Highly recommend! I won't go for curry anywhere else 🌞

First time. Great Service and fantastic food. Well recommended.

I’m glad I went it was something different. I normally go out for a Thai or a Chinese meal rather an Indian/Bangladeshi as this is what I cook at home and prefer to try or indulge in something different. Having said that we were in the Appleton area and looking for somewhere to eat. Monpura came up as an option which also won Best Curry Award in Warrington so thought we'd better give it a go. I chose the Tok Jaal Mishti dish as it had the sweet and sour flavours similar to a chinese dish I guess but with an Bangladeshi twist. It was simply delicious. I was very impressed and most definately different. I asked the award winning Chef to make it just a little spicier than normal for me and it was spot on. They said they are happy to tweak any dish to our way as it's all freshly cooked without a base/balti sauce. And the lentils (Daal) side dish. Wow very nice. Simply home from home as I've not made or had one in a while. It was made my way... ask for extra fried garlic and spicey. Simply mouthwatering! The fluffy naan bread was delicious to dip into the curries. We also ordered a salmon dish which was again delicious and well presented. You could tell the Chef takes pride in preparing the food and presentation. Even something simple as salad was presented very nicely. My kids wanted lamb chops 'how Mummy makes them at home'. The lovely waiter recommded the mixed starter which also included chicken tikka. I was dreading the chicken tikka as normally when ive tried them at other places it can be dry chicken breast pieces marinaded in a bit of tikka and after the first bite the flavour has gone. But these chicken pieces were of various textured pieces and on another level .. so so succulent and tasty throughout. They are the best I've had. The kids loved the lamb chops with a big thumbs up! I might have to order some for a garden party sometime soon with this beautiful weather coming up as they said they also cater for events including home parties! The kids also enjoyed nibbling at the naan bread and ofcourse the popadums. The dips were something different especially the red sauce. The service was very fast and efficient and all the waiters were very welcoming and accomodating. There was a couple sat across from us who we briefly got talking to. They were saying it was also their first visit and they will be definately coming again. They drove from a nearby town and thought theyd try it out. Despite alcohol not being served they were very happy with the experience and said they didnt need a beer etc as they wanted to fully appreciate the flavours with just a bottle of water. I could see they were very happy and wondering what to try next time. We were spoilt for choice with the array if soft drinks and mocktails though. My fave was the blue one. Overall it's a small restaurant but I liked that as it was nice and cozy. It was very relaxed and the kids enjoyed it too. This is a gem of a place with exceptional food and exceptional service.

Food was absolutely delicious, and lovely welcoming staff who are clearly very interested in their customers. Portion sizes are perfect and great value for money! They have such a great range of vegan and vegetarian meals as well as an amalgam of intresting cultural dishes. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Food - excellent. Our server made a few recommendations that we took him up on. They were excellent. Good portion sizes. Will definitely be back. Service - our server was polite, friendly, attentive. Chit chat was easy and sincere, not forced, very friendly welcoming guy. Circled our dishes on a takeaway menu for next time as we hadn't had those particular dishes before. Atmosphere - it was a quiet Tuesday evening, only 1 other table in. Not a lot to comment on.

Went here for Christmas lunch. It was amazing. Fab food, loads of choice, fab prices and 3 hours to sit and enjoy. Even father Christmas paid a visit.

Have had takeaways from Monpura before and the food was great, but it had been a while since we had a takeaway from Monpura. We placed our order online which initially had a tentative time and said that the restaurant would confirm our order when they opened and give a more accurate time. A few minutes after they opened at 5, we got an email confirmation that the restaurant had accepted the order and given a collection time only slightly later than the tentative time. I went down to collect at the confirmed time and the lights were off and the door locked. I called the restaurant whilst waiting out in the cold and was told I'd get a call back. Almost 5 minutes later I get a call back that the staff was stuck in traffic and that they'd be at least half an hour. I was not told in advance and would have been a lot more forgiving had I not had a confirmation and had to drive down to collect only to be stuck outside. A quick call is all it would have taken. I'm extremely unhappy and disappointed.

I have just spent £43.00 on a takeaway and wasn't worth £10.00 never mind £43. I ordered starters, meat samosa, which were soggy and filling was hard, chicken tikka, the chicken was overcooked and chicken chatt, again the chicken was overcooked. Main courses were Lamb madras, the lamb was tender but the sauce was overpowered with vinegar and also tasted of lemon!!! It was awful, also ordered Chicken tikka massalla, chicken again was overcooked and again the sauce was overpowered with lemon!!! Horrid!!!! Sides were Gobi Aloo which couldn't be eaten as too hard!!! Never will I order from here again!!! 95% of it went in the bin!!! Disgusting!!

This restaurant was very small the food was good but very small portions and then they had the cheek to ask for 4.95 corkage we had four bottles one I opened but still got charged it wasn’t a nice experience won’t go again

I've been using monpura for a number of take aways now, to try different things on the menu and get a balanced view. I always collect and find it good value, the food tasty, cooked correctly and a treat to eat. The staff offer great service, have good chat, and the "revised time to collect" once they accept your online order is usually accurate to within a couple mins. So planning my trip to the supermarket for a authentic beer can be timed well. Top tip buy yourself an insulated bag to carry your take away home so it keeps all the warmth and effort they've put into packing the delicous takeway..

Stinks of toilets So small you cant swinga cat. Public toilet disgusting. One hand wipe between 2 of us. Owner constantly chattin to you when you eating you meal.

Fantastic takeaway we had tonight, two off the cheffs specials with naan bread & popodoms absolutely spot on! Not only warringtons best curry house of 2022 but also the best staff, Naz& his team are the best, service with a smile highly recommend for eat in or take out! Phil & Tracy Burke

Have eaten here twice and both times have been lovely experiences. Being vegan, the manager/owner has taken an interest to make sure that all the food we receive is vegan, and helps to recommend dishes etc. The staff are lovely, and we always feel very welcomed. The food is fresh & deliciou, and we'll priced! We will be back

Was on a birthday spa weekend away with my girls, in Warrington after a lovely spa day we were searching on Google for a nice Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant to dine in. Monpura came up and thought we give it a try as it looked really good. Well what can I say, the staff where amazing, helpful and made us feel welcome, making sure we were happy with the food and service, to which we were. The food was delicious, something diffrent to my usual Indian food we have. The flavours were perfect and the spice was spot on for me and my girls. Ice cold glass of water was all we needed to wash down our food as this way we get to enjoy the meal to its full flavour. We did get a complimentary birthday mocktail for my girls by the lovely staff - bless him, the fresh fruits made it so refreshing and tasted amazing. Its a lovely little restaurant where staff make you feel so comfortable and give you top service. Defo will be going back and I'd recommend it to everyone.

Decent restaurant. Takeaway offers 20% discount so the price was reasonable. The service was good, friendly staff. I tried their regular chicken biryani and chicken tandoori. I really liked their tandoori; tender, juicy, flavourful. Biryani was a bit disappointing as I expected more traditional desi (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi style) with while spices in it. But it was bit plain (more western), bland; nevertheless the portions were quite filling. Their vegetable curry was also good.

Fantastic authentic Bangladeshi food from a very hospitable host. Cannot fault the food or service. Had the mix platter which had enough for three and delicious main. The place does not serve alcohol but replaced with a selection of really tasty ‘mocktails’.

Food was good, but overpriced. The place look like a cheap corner store. They don't have licence to serve alcohol, so you can bring your own but they will charge you for it £4. You defo can find a nicer, same price range restaurant in the area.

Had the most amazing night here. Staff friendly and attentive, recommended dishes to suit us all individually (7 of us with different tastes) food was excellent. Would definitely highly recommend.

Tried a takeaway. Really expensive compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. E.g no discount of takeaway versus dine in or no rice/ naan included The curry was still swimming in oil despite me asking them to cook with a small amount. The quality of the curry was nice enough but nothing special when considering you can get just as good but cheaper in other places around Stockton Heath/ Warrington To be honest the place should be takeaway only as it's far too small for a dine in restaurant

First visit. Amazing varied menu, great attentive service. Really good atmosphere. Spotless. Enjoyed our 3 courses so much, Really hot food and can't fault anything.

We visited as a group of four friends and we had heard good reviews. The venue is small and the tables are close together, making it difficult for staff to serve. The poppadoms and pickles were fine. The vegetable samosas were OK but the onion bhajis were not very warm. I enjoyed my chicken shashlik and my husband had lamb chops. Our friends had saagwala and another spicy chicken dish. Both meals were very brown in appearance. They did not enjoy their meals. Prices are a little higher than other Indian restaurants we visit. Overall, we feel we would not return.

Wow 😮 we went be accident to this restaurant tonight. Absolutely fabulous. Incredibly complex spicing of the food, delicious. Fabulous service from staff who are clearly interested in their food and the customer. Can’t speak highly enough. I would have gone for lunch on Friday but they close. Make sure you book! Weekends up to two weeks ahead but the wait will be worth it!

Probably the best food in Warrington , certainly best curry I've ever had. Courteous to BYOB and the staff were very helpful to cater a dish to tastes.

Really wonderful little hidden gem! Fantastic food, absolutely lovely staff - such a warm, friendly & cosy place - with the most friendliest staff. The food really is delicious. It is different to all of the other Indian food we've had before, this is true authentic Bangladeshi street food - absolutely delicious! Clearly lots of care & attention goes into each of the dishes & it really shows. There is a great menu with lots to choose from, especially great for veggies/vegans. The mango lassi is amaazing too, freshly made. The lunchtime deal of 2 courses is fab - it's such good value for money. For the main you get a small selection of different dishes, like tapas, so get to try lots. The vegetarian selection is delicious. I really hope this place does well as they so deserve it! Highly recommend a visit. We will definately be back.

Incredible food with amazing choices for vegan/vegetarian food. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and even bought my friend a whole cake for her birthday! Can't wait to come back here.
