Billy's Fish Bar in Leicester

The food from Billy's has always been very good since it was recommended to me some time back. I can recommend the naan kebabs but I also look forward to exploring more from this place. Tonight, the guy delivering my order was friendly and personable. I would recommend this place.

The problem with the chicken doner kebab was that there was quite a few hard gristle bits in the chicken that was hard to chew and inedible. So I have to spit them bits out. Not something you would expect in chicken boneless kebab.

Don't get it... I gave brill review about 3 hrs ago. Just tasted food now. Disgusting fish taste in kebabs. I want my lamb to taste like lamb and chicken to taste like chicken. I want to be able to get in the sauce pots that they provide. Can't be same owners not nice. Someone getting greedy again. So sad. Tried again and issues resolved about the bad fish tasting kebabs. Have not come across this problem again. Also the mint/yogurt chutney no longer tastes like toothpaste. Well done Billy's Fish Bar for sorting it out. Would highly recommend again! Tried their curries and will give a 👍👍

the food was great as usual, the young delivery guy was polite and friendly.

Delivery driver swore me at me after I politely asked for him to be a little more polite next time as he was rushing me to give a code :-(

By far the best chipper I've been too. Especially love that they have great Indian and middle eastern food as well. It's family owned too and imo that translates into top quality food and service

The chicken tikka didn't have much flavour. It was moist but lacked flavour and taste. The Donner meat was nice. But the food was lukewarm by the time it arrived.

Massive massive kebabs. Great value for money. Staff is friendly and the service is very quick.

Billy's is great if you collect, unless they got my order wrong. I ordered the mix grill and it's usually great however, this seemed like it was missing items you would usually get. The chicken was also cut up into very small pieces which is not normal, also making the chicken very dry once arriving. It felt very sub par for Billy's which is dissapointing.

Food arrived nice and hot, but the mixed doner kebab was chicken tikka and lamb doner, was also missing the salad and sauces as stated on the menu.

The place is buzzing, with large open plan kitchen, the staff are well presented, polite and extremely efficient. Order two lamb doner kebabs and a portion of chips to takeaway and this is when the magic happens…. The naan bread is cooked fresh before yours eyes before it’s filled to capacity with the most delicious, tender and juicy lamb doner I have ever experienced in my life. The salad is fresh and plentiful and chilli sauce was on point. The chip portion was massive and they are the best chippy chips EVER!!!! Definitely coming to visit again although may need one to share and these things are HUGE 🤣

Really nice kebab. The chicken tikka was so moist and the naan bread was delicious. I didn’t get any salad unfortunately, but it was delicious and I would order again.

I should say they cater the best lamb doner kebabs in the whole UK. And the lady (the owner) at the counter, always welcomes their client with a smile. Amazing Service, very delicious food & CAUTION : it's HIGHLY ADDICTIVE 😀

Always great service here, they all work so efficiently and always with a smile. They way they remember my long order is great and shows their great customer service. 99% of the time I'm in and out within 10 minutes and that's after ordering for 6 people. Definitely the best kebabs in Leicester, must try if you haven't already! The mixed kebabs and veg mixed grill kebabs, even the normal kebabs are all great!

Paneer tikka & chips are worth trying. At one time it use to be my favourite place for paneer tikka naan, however portion size has reduced and specially paneer is halved compared to when I first discovered this shop around 2017-18.

Disgusting! Never eat here anymore. The kebab always has bits in it. Always dirty and seen rats last time. Never coming here again, always used to be a regular but not anymore. Service is bad as well, took 25 minutes when there were two other people in the shop and the food was clearly all made just stored into pots to keep warm. Always stingy with sauces as well. They never used to be like this!

We were told about Billy's a few months ago, so we gave it a go for a mixed grill. The food we have tried to date has always been spot on. Finally found a place that does a decent fresh made naan and the special mixed grill was delicious. We haven't been to any other place for kebabs since finding about this place. Because its so popular you do have to wait sometimes.

The food has always been amazing, only for me, I feel the portions are getting smaller. Other than that, I cannot fault the place. The staff build a nice atmosphere whilst you wait for your food to be freshly cooked. The staff are friendly and always a service with a smile. Be prepared for queues because it is one of the best in Leicester and it can get very busy, with queues going out of the door. For me, I’ve never had a mixed grill on naan like it anywhere else. A personal favourite for me.

I was taken here by a friend, and wow what a treat! The mixed grill kebab i had was a huge monster and the donner meat was really tasty, the lamb was very soft and tender with a gorgeous fresh taste. There was quite a queue but it was a friday night so it was to be expected. The service was quite quick which was nice. They do so many different things, so plenty of choice.

We live in Ipswich but when ever we visit family it's always the first stop. Always busy a good sign.

today was the first time buying fish and chips from this place so let start i went inside they were about three people infront of me so waited the girl at the counter served those three people and carried on working she did not even made eye contact so i waited then someone else came in behind me so she ask him before me so i waited then went up to her and asked her if she did not see me standing there she no anwser , anyways i bought fish and chips came home opened it and oh my god the fish was mega oily see pictures and you could squeeze the oil out of the fish and the fish has that ocean smell when eating so eat abit cause i was mega hungry and threw the rest away never go again to the place sorry if i have upset anyone with my feedback

The best place to get food is here I come all the from Canada just for Billy's fish and chips the owner is awesome I recommend 100%

Good quality meat in the mixed grill kebab & full of flavour - garlic naan had hint of cumin seed, great flavour - very good price to feed 4.

Friendly, helpful.. fantastic variety of sauces… a customer was served before me and he was given a bewildering array of sauces.. never seen that before… coming from London Will be coming back, but not on a Friday… too busy ..😉

Billys Fish Bar, Well worth the visit if your looking to eat fish and chips, kebabs with the naan cooked fresh in the clay oven. Always busy which says it all. Staff are friendly, highly recommended!

The place was recommended by someone in my local pub and apart from the fact I had to queue for half an hour to be served, which shows how popular the place is. I was more than happy with the food and it is quite a good substitute for Pavlos Kebabs although it's not Greek, it's actually run by Indians. You can get a right old variety of food here, fish and chips, sausages, pies, fritters, curries, Indian kebabs and chicken and lamb doner. It was absolutely hectic in there because they were that busy. I had mixed doner kebab it served on a massive Nan with separate salad, two sauces and I had a portion of chips. It was very good and I will definitely be very happy to go there again when I get withdrawal symptoms from not having had a doner kebab for 2 or 3 weeks. I might try some of the curries and Indian kebabs as well. Recommend

The naan bread is baked fresh in a tandoor oven when you order. Lovely chicken tikka kebab and the chips are nice as well. Very busy whenever I go - not surprising given the quality of the naan/kebab

Well it was pure luck I found this place the staff are friendly and very polite the food is amazing and even when they closed the shop and I went back for napkins they got me napkins and even hand sanitizer. I would highly recommend this place the portions are massive and food was great thanks again hopefully I be back soon.

I was a regular at Billy's many years back. I live nearby some amazing chippys - gypsy lane, blue chippy and grewals, so I've never given it much thought or gone out of my way to go to Billy's again up until recently. It was an ordinary Tues evening, the sun was shining, and I was passing the area and having a chippy night with friends. They all love a chicken kebab and paneer kebab. So I purchased these along with a small chips for under £15. Great value! The chips were amongst the best you'll find anywhere. Chunky, tasty, just slightly oily and doused in delicious chilli powder, salt and vinegar. The kebab/wraps were much, much nicer than the Blue chippy ones and even better value for money. The paneer is soft, tasty, plentiful and lots of salads and sauces filled the naan. I instantly knew that this place is and always has been a gem. There was a queue of about 15 people by the time I left. Not bad at all for a Tues evening at 7pm! Enjoy the pics and get them kebabs! You won't regret it one bit. The best chippy in Leicester consistently for many years. Well done! 👏

Drove here on consecutive days and both times it was closed way before closing time. First day I arrived at 10pm second day 10:30. Both times I had drove from distance just to be let down. The food maybe banging but the customer service is atrocious. All I ask is you either update the opening times online or stay open till when advertised.

Had chicken burger and chips. Wish they would use proper chicken instead of processed chicken.
