Billy's in Northampton

This has a good variety of breakfasts. Scrambled eggs and avocado to Mediterranean breakfast. I would prefer to be asked how I want my eggs cooked, like a real diner. Hard egg let's the restaurant down.

I often take Dad here we love it! Excellent value for money, clean and staff are lovely highly recommend it. I have Halloumi Humus Pitta with salad n Coleslaw always large portion and fresh. Fish n Chips are ace. A hidden gem!

I went at about 7.50 for haddock and chips. I waited 10 minutes which wasn't a problem. I really enjoyed my fish and chips which tasted very good. The customer service was very good, I shall certainly order again and would recommend to friends.

Rising from the previous incarnation of this restaurant Billy’s is a fully refurbished eatery benefitting from indoor seating, pavement dining and a full takeaway. There is an extensive menu from fish and chips, kebabs with options for vegetarian diners. I ordered plaice & chips, my friend ordered a half pound cheese burger. I am real fussy about my fish & chips and am often disappointed… wow, Billy got it perfect!.. firm fish in very crispy batter, no excess fat soaking the coating. I was able to lift the fish to get to the chips underneath and it stayed whole whilst still being flaky when I cut into it. The chips for both myself and my friend were perfectly cooked. My friend enjoyed her burger as well with details like the bun being nicely toasted adding to the enjoyment. We ate inside in a clean and well appointed restaurant with comfortable seating. Part of the refurbishment was to bring the kitchen from the back of the building and incorporating it in the public space… again very clean and very professional. The staff were welcoming and attentive without crowding the patrons. What made the experience even better was the value for money… excellent!.. my plaice & chips came out at £7.50, much more reasonable than my local Chippy… I opted for a small portion of chips and still didn’t eat them all. Ambience 10/10 Quality of food 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10 I look forward to my next visit. Big thank you Billy and staff.

The chips were possibly the worst I've ever tasted, soggy, undercooked and bland, definitely wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend the chips.

Called in for lunch and went for fish chips and mushy peas. The fish was superb with lovely crispy batter and silky white fleshy fish. The chips were lovely and chunky cooked to perfection(but just to many) A super fish and chips dinner that could not be better.

Fantastic fish and chips! Fresher than fresh! Best in town! I shall returning! Thank you to all the staff for such an amazing lunch! 👍🏻

The brothers are soo nice. One by one came and greeted husband and son. Went in to have dinner Was gutted no lamb and kofta Sadly few times they haven't had the lamb and kofta that's a disappointment Besides that everything was perfect Food soo fresh Generous amount

We go most weeks for a treat for my daughter after college on a Monday we love the food there and the friendly ness of the staff billy is so lovely my daughter loves him and he always makes time to have a chat , nothing is to much trouble for him or his staff , deff give there kofte kebab a try it’s to dye for keep up the good work xx

We had cod (?) and chips. The fish was reconstituted and granular, not flaky and fresh. The chips soggy and bland. Truly awful. We will not be returning.

We have a been a few times always excellent, this time around we took some friends visiting from the US and they thought it was the best food /fish & chips they had in the UK. Unfortunately they fly back on Tuesday otherwise th8would have loved to go again

We had a great dinner. The Starter snacks were awesome. The chicken Shish was very delightful with a mild taste.

First time visiting Billy’s I was very surprised. This is a fairly new place. It has been renovated into a take away and has a fairly large seating area. Not a bad menu but needs to offer smaller sized plates as everyone doesn’t want huge portions. The food was quite tasty but I personally didn’t like the bacon. It was cooked well, the place is clean and staff very attentive.

Extremely clean fish bar comfy chairs and a nice ambience my cod was cooked extremely well light and fluffy pure white with a very light batter I highly recommend this place

This last visit was I think my fourth or fifth and each time I go the food and service gets better. I ordered a small Cod Bites with all the usual trimmings along with a cuppa. The cod bites and chips were freshly fried and the peas hot. The waiting staff are enthusiastic and helpful and check with you that all is right with your meal. To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger "I'll be back!"

First time visitor, the place has recently under gone a revamp, from a cafe to a fish and chip based restaurant with dining and seating along with your traditional fish & chip , kebab style take away, the experience was really good, warm welcome and a clean environment, Two fish and chips with mushy for us and a cheeseburger for grandson, the quality of the food was amazing, piping hot, a great piece of freshly battered fish a plate of fresh chips, portions were not overwhelming but a comfortable amount, Max are all his burger and some chips so all good there, we sat on smart comfortable chairs and large amount of various sized tables has rest room facilities and some outdoor tables, prices were reasonable maybe a little more because of the current situation on food prices but we paid £25 for this meal with a drink for our Max Would recommend and will be back might move from our local chippy to this one and see how they compare on takeaway Their is some on street parking but not loads

Tonight was our second visit to Billy’s and on both occasions have been very impressed. Our first visit was for fish and chips and the fish was gorgeous, firm , not slimy, white flesh and we had a small which was plenty big enough for us. The chips are dry, not greasy and plenty too. Tonight we had a chicken shish with salad and it too was lovely. The chicken was particularly tasty. All the staff are friendly and helpful and the place is clean and tidy. Can’t fault it. It will be our ‘go to’ takeaway place.

Visited Billy's All Day Diner with my son. We were greeted with a very warm, welcoming and sincere manager. The restaurant looks so clean with an open kitchen to match. We both had a full breakfast which was cooked to perfection. Full credit where it is due. The owners/management have done an amazing job in bringing this once run down greasy spoon to an upmarket standard. I truly hope the Northampton populace support the venue. Top marks all round…….even my 22 year old son left a raving review! Looking forward to my next visit:-)

I have thus far just been the once, soon after it opened. It was lunch time and they were busy but not full. Customers are welcome to order from the take away bar or sit down at a table of their choice and the staff were attentive welcoming me with a smile. As they market themselves on 'Fish & Chips' it seemed rude not to try it and I had the cod with a side portion of mushy peas. It's a fair sized portion too. It has been quite a while since I tasted fish this fresh. Every part of this meal exceeded many of the offers in town, for a sit down meal at least. They do other menu items as well including breakfasts. I have included the menu here as of May 2023 for you to browse. I have just realised they also offer Kebabs which will please many. They have a newly refurbished toilet on premises too for customers to use which is a nice touch, unusual in Northampton. Parking is currently available outside but, how long this will last I wouldn't like to say as a new building complex is being built next door and I am sure that too will create parking issues so, go visit Billy's now whilst parking is easy. As for price, you should make your own judgement. Many have not yet caught on that prices everywhere have risen sharply in the UK. In many cases eating out costs are at least 50% more than a year ago and often double, we need to take this on board when considering the cost. I am just a customer, I am not connected with anyone who works there or owns it.
