Bill's Restaurant in City of London, Westminster

Busy restaurant and food quality was average and rather impersonal at this branch compared to others on this occasion. Salad was wet and not very varied, burger like warm. Chips were returned as were cold and replaced with piping hot ones.

Great as always! See you next time. We visit more of your restaurants an it was always a pleasure. Great food, wonderful staff.

Quick service, good food - ( big breakfast and pancakes), good coffee and excellent, friendly waiter. Pedro was attentive without being overbearing.

My friend and I came here for dinner after work and had a fantastic experience. Every server was kind and efficient and we received our food quickly. I had the best chicken burger I’ve had since moving to England five years ago. Crispy and with an incredibly delicious sauce. They also have a sauce on the side for dunking your fries in. I also loved the eclectic decor. It felt like a place that could be as fancy or casual as you want it to be. We were there on the 2nd September around 6 pm. Sadly, I’ve forgotten the name of our servers, but they were fabulous and deserve a raise!

Fabulous service from Start to Finish. No pressure to take order quickly and we took our time. Food came out very quickly and was hot and delicious. Service from Gabi was impeccable and she couldn’t do more for us. Thank you for a lovely breakfast

Despite having booked a table for 11.15am, we still had to wait outside in the rain for our table to be ready. Very abrupt lady on front of house. We were eventually seated and then had to wait ages for someone to come and take our order. Stressful when we had to get to the theatre for a show. The waiters were friendly and helpful, but slow and chaotic. Ordered pancakes off the kids menu, they said this was only served until 11.30, but the waiter said he'd check with the chef and they agreed they would still serve pancakes, which was great as it didn't say anything on the kids menu about limited times and also, we did arrive before 11.30! I ordered pancakes with chicken and eggs, i asked for poached instead of fried, but fried arrived! Didn't bother asking for it to be corrected as we'd already waited so long and didn't have time. Also very slow in bringing the bill and then the card machine. Food was fine, shame about the slow service. Wouldn't return.

Absolutely shocking! Went to Bill's covent garden for our birthday celebration after our original booking at another restaurant had been overlooked. We were offered a table on Saturday lunchtime for 60 minutes only. What kind of dining experience can you get in that time? I hate this sort of greed and will never give my custom to this group ever again.

We had an amazing Father's day Lunch here, with 2 generations of Dad's who had the best time and were made to feel really special. Great atmosphere, Friendly staff. We would highly recommend as it was a great vibe.

Tourist here, came at 8am on a Tuesday looking for an "English Breakfast." I was seated quickly (wherever I wanted to as it was relatively empty). This place had an item called a "Traditional Breakfast" (£10.95) which came close to what I was looking for -- though I had to purchase side orders of Black Pudding and Baked Beans (£1.75 each). With restaurants, I look at five categories: Price, Taste, Speed, Customer Service, Ambiance. This place hit on all except the Customer Service. My waitress never once swung by to see how I was doing (was just chatting it up at the bar with a co-worker) about 15 feet away -- I kept shooting glances at her direction but received nothing. I saw waitresses at other tables being more diligent. Note that the server (the person who brought me the food) was awesome.

Totally standard. Christmas menu was average. Servers are inexperienced. If you’re looking for something reliable and average this is for you. This is not a gastronomic experience but you will get something to eat. It will be quick abd can fit big groups.

Went to bills for breakfast. Wow!! The food was incredible. I had pancakes with chilli maple syrup and buttermilk chicken with fried eggs. I would have never had put this together myself. It was awesome. Service was really good. Would defo recommend!!!

We had the best Valentines meal at Bill’s! The chicken and sesame dumplings were a lovely filling starter, the Creamy mushroom chicken and Peppercorn Steak Frites were divine, and to top it all off the Valentine’s Brownie was truly gorgeous! The passion fruit cocktails that came with the meal were also splendid! Excellent value and high quality all round. We normally go to Bill’s in Clink Street but will now add Bill’s Covent Garden to our list! Our servers were fabulous too - really went above and beyond to make our evening special; Junior was brilliant and the female server too (we didn’t catch her name but she was also fab!). We will definitely be back!

Located in a lovely spot, my friend had recommended Bills. On arrival we were ignored for nearly 5 minutes despite staff being right next to us as we waited inside the doorway. They didn’t even acknowledge us to say they would be with us soon. Once finally greeted we explained we had booked a table and then led upstairs. The waitress here good, gave us time to look and decide. Between us we had the chicken shawarma, meatballs and chicken burger. I didn’t think the portions looked particularly big but actually the shawarma was quite filling and tasted pretty good although the chips and flat bread went cold very quickly. The food was good but I would not return. I think for the price there is better available.

After a trip-advisor search, my husband and I walked to this breakfast spot from our hotel, and it was pouring rain. When we arrived, a sign on the door read "please wait to be seated" but there was a curtain almost fully blocking the door and no one could see that we were there - where is your "front of house" team?? As waiting to be seated is standard procedure in most restaurants, we stepped in and waited by the door. Several staff members passed us before a short male with dark hair approached us and rudely said "It will be 30 minutes. It DOES say on the sign to wait outside." and ushered us out the door and back into the rain. We politely did as ordered, but immediately walked away absolutely dumbfounded at the hostility and rudeness of this member of staff. We went on to find a great spot call The Soho Social, if you would like to go someone where your business *is* appreciated, because we certainly weren't waiting here after being treated like naughty children and made to stand in the rain for half an hour. This happened Saturday 17th February around 10am-10.30am, so you may want to evaluate your staff. This guy was a jerk. Why apply for a job at a food restaurant if you can't treat people with kindness and respect!? Aye aye aye.

Had 2 meals here ,a three course set menu then a brunch on a Sunday. Was really impressed with the food on both occasions, and reasonably priced. Service really good. Will visit again on our next trip.

Went here for dinner on a Friday evening. Food excellent and prices reasonable, however service was terrible. Felt rushed the whole way through, as if they wanted to get rid of us as soon as possible. Was in and out within half and hour, having starters, mains, sides and drinks. Had to ask multiple times for tap water, and only got the bottle not the glasses. Food check back only done when prompted and had to ask for additional sauces. Great if you are in a hurry! But if you want a nice, relaxed and to feel well looked after meal I do not advise here. This also goes for Bills Norwich in which we had the same experience unfortunately.

Myself and the husband decided to treat ourselves to a nice breakfast/brunch while staying in a hotel nearby. We hadn't booked so wandered in off the street. The place was definitely rammed, and had a cute vibe to the decor. They found us a table, and this may not be the place for you if you like a lot of room but it wasn't overly claustrophobic. I was honestly just planning on getting an eggs Benedict or similar but saw someone getting a pancake stack brought out and that quickly changed my mind. I ordered the 3 pancake stack with fruit, which was excellent. The pancakes were fluffy, layered in maple syrup, and the fruit was fresh tasting and cool. The other half got the big brunch and asked to remove the black pudding. The server offered to replace it and he asked for an extra sausage. When the plate arrived the extra sausage was not there. If either of us had been in a mood to push that issue I'd call it a criticism, but the portion was more than enough without it and I'm told what was there tasted very good. We would absolutely return to this place next time we're visiting London. There was plenty of choice on the menu, and what we had was great. It's not an every day breakfast, but as a treat it did the trick.

The restaurant is decorated with antique lights and tables. The food is amazing and the tea pot looks like hundred years old. Especially I want to say thank you to “Anna”, as she is an amazing waitress.

Great vibe to the place - busy, but despite that, service was excellent. Food was also excellent - recommend the shawarma!! We were served by Viki, who was attentive, quick and friendly. We'd definitely visit again - its ideally located near the Palace Theatre and loads of other theatres, so great to dash to in between shows.

I have been to two other Bill's restaurants and both were good experiences. The visit to Covent Garden on 3rd February 2024 was very terrible. The restaurant was so cramped, that I had little room to put my coat over the back of my chair. Our waitress was hovering around our table often. At one point she tried to take our starter plates before we finished and as soon as we had finished someone else whipped the plates away and placed the mains before we had swallowed our food. The waitress who brought the mains came so close to my daughter that she stepped on her shoe twice. The starters were good but I believe they provided us with a small calamari, rather than the large we ordered. The mains were disappointing. Three of us had meatballs, which were mushy in texture and came with only a few cubed potatoes. They nearly froze us to death. The restaurant was warm when we entered so we had no issue with having air con however it was so cold that we asked for the temperature to be increased. We were told it had been turned off but noticed it was actually getting colder, by which time we noticed many of the other diners had left. Fortunately we had finished our meal by this time. To top it all the waitress questioned why we had asked for the service charge to be removed! Suffice to say we would not return to this Bill's.
