We arrived just after 7pm and were seated at the back of the restaurant near the exit to the outside area. We both ordered a starter and main meal. The starters arrived promptly and were acceptable. It seemed then our waitress left for the night. Following that, only one main meal arrived, which looked like it had been waiting to be served and was luke warm, to say the least, my husbands meal did not arrive and after asking where it was we were advised the waitress must have made a mistake. Since his meal had not yet been cooked I made the waiter aware I was not happy with my meal and so they agreed to cook the meals afresh. Just then I noticed something scurrying along the floor at the back of the restaurant, it was a mouse and thankfully the waiter also saw it. We requested a move to another table and continued to wait for our meals which finally arrived at about 9pm, by which time i had no appetite, so picked at my meal, which incidentally wasn’t very nice and then left promptly. The manager, to compensate, didn’t charge for our wine but that didn’t really make up for such an unpleasant experience.

Booked table, arrived on time to nearly empty restaurant, guy didn’t know where to sit us so ended up by draughty door. Moved the table physically to be out of the draught and Nieve came along to take our orders. Thank you Nieve, you were the best part of this whole debacle. Starters Calamari with aioli, ok but not great. Mains seafood linguine and special Thai fishcake burger. Seafood gone over, nowhere near fresh, hope not ill as a result. After one mussel, inedible. Portion size small, but didn’t it all as so bad. Sauce bland, uninteresting, could do better myself at home. Thai Fishcake, fishy but not in a good way, chilis masked the unpleasantness of the whole dish. Side of flatbread, good. The best part of the dish. French fries good with nice quality salt. Wine overpriced and plonked down in a bucket without being poured by the same inept guy who saw us in. Please help me out to answer why this is so bad? Is it new owners? New chef? What? Nieve, you were great. Sorry but you could do better elsewhere. Really bad, don’t waste your money. Shame on you.

Very disappointing meal at Bills tonight. Ordered seafood linguine and chicken shawarma The food came out within about 5 minutes and had obviously been microwaved. It was pretty tasteless and Luke warm. However when sat there a mouse ran out from under the bench. We called the poor waiter over, who told his manager. We immediately asked for the bill and while waiting saw more mice running around under the tables. None of the other staff seemed to care! They were all just sat either eating or on their phones.

I was sat outside and given a menu. I Waited 15 mins before I got up to ask if I could order? The breakfast brunch arrived with an Americano coffee not long after. The butter was hard so you couldn’t spread it on the toast. The streaky bacon was under cooked. The beans were average and the sausage was small. I left the black pudding as I’m not keen on them. The fried eggs were ok, then you can hardly mess that up. I wasn’t asked if I wanted another coffee? I scanned the barcode on the table to pay the bill. Vastly overpriced and undelivered. £18.50 which included a 12.5% surcharge which I begrudged paying. Won’t be returning.

Lovely waitress but food very average. Waited for 2 late meals and the man who we spoke to had very limited customer service! Finally got them but no apology. Everything was an extra inc beans with my child’s dinner. I had a blue light card and when I queried the childs dinner not being free as it’s meant to be if you buy an adult meal, I was told you can only use one or the other. I resent paying an £18 service charge for this too as I’d never tip that much. All in all I won’t return.

If I could give this 0 stars I would the food came out cold and dishes were cracked. Food was mushy do not recommend you go there and they forgot one of the dishes they took back 7 dishes out of 10 and they apologised but the food should’ve been cold in the first place. Don’t go here unless you want to waste you money was not going to spend 300 odd pound on this disgraced they call food.

My mum and I had a wonderful pre theatre meal at Bills last Saturday. The food was delicious and the service, from the moment we walked in the door, was exceptional. The restaurant was very busy, staff attentive and friendly. Steak well cooked. Starter and desert delicious. Good value for money with their set menu. I know Bills is a chain restaurant but small independent restaurants need to follow suit and provide value for money set menu's in order to survive the government onslaught against the hospitality industry.

Terrible experience today with a RACIST SERVER. I am Asian and my husband is English. The Restaurant has 2 entrances, the garden entrance and the front entrance. The server is at the garden entrance so we informed her that our booking is at 9am but got there early. She said that it’s okay but we have to go around the building, to the front entrance. She asked us to do the track and trace and seated right next to the garden entrance. We were having our breakfast and another couple came (stood by the garden entrance) and the server welcomed them in. For some unknown reason didn’t ask them to go to the front entrance. Not complaining at all about walking to the front door as walking is good for our health but I felt like we were treated differently because of the color of my skin (can’t believe this is still happening especially when we have to pay £28 for breakfast at what we thought was a good place with good reviews). Was not able to celebrate my birthday last month so my husband planned a short stay in Cardiff not expecting to start our day being treated badly. My husband spoke to her and asked why we were told to go around the building and she said “it is the procedure, and everyone has to go the front entrance”. My husband asked why she let the other couple in from the garden entrance and she laughed and walked away with no explanation, then she talked to her colleague who tried to apologised about the situation after we complained (but then, saw them both laughing and found it very funny). Will not go back to this restaurant as their staff are racist.

We visited Bills whilst visiting Cardiff on a family holiday. We found the staff very welcoming and enthusiastic.Our meal was lovely, especially the rosemary fries. The desserts were great too, if a little pricey.The only thing I would change is the service charge (which admittedly is optional) already added to the bill as I would like to decide how much to tip myself.

Went to Bills this morning to have breakfast. We arrived and waited by the door to be seated. Young man on the phone sorting out a customer. Once off the phone checked our temperature and seated us. Very pleasant Young man, my husband had traditional breakfast, I had the scrambled eggs on toast. Ordered tea and two fruit juices. Hubby's breakfast very poor looking for the price . No butter on the toast or mine had to ask for some. When the bill came I must say we we're charged over £3 each for small fruit juices can't remember the odd now. I know I should have said something at the time but I didn't. Absolutely disgusting felt really ripped off. Certainly won't be returning.There are far better places to eat in the bay. Wouldn't recommend breakfast here it's not value for money at all.

A booking had been made for 24 persons for a retirement function. Having not been to Bills before I did not know what to expect. Four tables were ready on time at 7.30 and staff were very attentive with drinks to be billed separately to the fixed menu food orders which had previously been made. The food quality was excellent with very generous portions. I had haloumi sticks with salad and dip as a starter with numerous sticks. Olives and bread and oil were also brought. My main course was cod goujons with chips and mushy minted peas, again with numerous goujons. For dessert I had chocolate brownie with ice cream. Service was excellent and the food was excellent. I will return very soon and will be recommending Bills to friends and relatives.

Myself and partner visited Bill's at Cardiff Bay on 3 occasions the weekend of 16th July- 19th July. We would just like to say a big thank you to the staff who were working hard under difficult times. They were extremely busy and understaffed but were still very helpful and friendly. Especially the bar and food manager. They had run out of Peroni and Cider on our 2nd visit so gave us 2 drinks for free for the inconvenience. On the 3rd visit they again ran out of Peroni so again gave us 2 free drinks for being understanding. We felt that this was an exceptionally nice thing to do especially as we had not complained. We could see they were very busy as it had been a very hot weekend and these things were not their fault. We know hospitality has suffered these last 18 months and it was easy to see they were struggling to hire staff like most places in Cardiff. But they were exceptional at Bill's would definitely visit when in the Bay again.

We went to Bill's for a family birthday meal and were disappointed at the portion sizes and very slow service.Our last visit, pre Covid, had been excellent, so we were really looking forward to it.Two of us had salads, which were listed as containing avocado. When we found none, we asked. We were then brought a whole avocado each in a separate dish and overheard the staff discussing 'don't know what's wrong with chef today.'None of us were very impressed with our meals. And the staff seemed to have had training in how not to catch the customers eye!I know Covid is and has been very challenging for restaurants, but they do need to step up now we can go again.

With most places around the Bay refusing our custom due to not pre-booking, we ended up at Bills, and we were certainly not disappointed Initial covid checks were understandable. The pan fried chicken was delicious, and my wife's steak was cooked to perfection. The staff seemed to be enjoying themselves too, and service was excellent.My only negative was the (previously unmentioned) 12% optional service charge added to the bill. If I want to leave a tip (and I did), I will choose the amount and who I want to give it to. This type of "commission" encourages better service for bigger payers, and is not a good way to incentivise staff.The prices are restaurant prices, so not something I would return to on a weekly basis, but for special treats and event, I will definitely be returning

We visited this on 11th July after having a really nice meal here back in September. We had been planning this day for a month so had managed to book a table well in advance meaning we were shown to our table efficiently!We ordered a chicken burger and a beef burger which we both enjoyed and found be filling! Just arrived in Cardiff and Bills was recommended by a fellow hotel guest. Although busy and walked in on off chance given a table straight away, we both had fish pie and really enjoyed meal. Service was a little bit slow but the restaurant was full and busy and we were not rushed.

to start with the positives Covid guidelines were followed really well and felt very spaced out and safe. The waiter we had was great and answered a lot of out questions about the food and drinks with great knowledge and didn't seem annoyed by us taking up his time. The starters we had were lovely, the Halloumi and mini pork sausages were delicious but the mains were a bit of a let down. I had the steak which I asked for medium but it was more well done but still tasted good and the peppercorn sauce I had a long side it was lovely but my friend had the fish and chips which when it came out I thought it looked very dry and she then confirmed it within a couple of bites and for someone who loves food and normally clears her plate she couldn't. All in all it was a lovely time and we enjoyed the cocktails but wouldn't rush back for food.

Just two for lunch - the staff were welcoming and on the ball. Drinks arrived reasonably soon the Chenin Blanc for £20 was just about good enough. I ordered the Calamari as a starter - they arrived in thick brown batter and frankly the squid was absolutely tasteless. They came with a mayo type dip. I then had a starter of chicken kebabs which has the same brown look as the squid and the dip was exactly the same as well. I paid the optional service charge of £7 but not sure it was deserved given the standard of the food. This was a poor experience - perhaps the cook had the day off?

We had our temperature scanned before we went inside the building by a member of staff and were shown to our pre booked table. Our order was taken promptly by a happy smiling waiter. Not my first time to bill- have been to baker street and bath , a couple of times, We are vegetarians and thus love your carrot lentil soup- one of the very few veg option plus yummy too. Now we go for dinner, not late .. one of the first sets and when we order soup, we are told there is only one portion of soup left. This is very evident that probably the food is made in the morning and fresh batches are not prepared for dinner? As soup cant get over at 7.30? And with less option, we hoped the host would have been able to find a better solution than asking us to share one portion of soup. How difficult would it be to whip up some fresh soup? These are small things but we were extremely upset. Then we order salad, and it had stale yellow leaves, so i can continue ranting but had a bad experience yesterday and now may think before booking again- though bill has been my choice whenever we r out.

We booked in for breakfast before making our way home after our weekend away in Cardiff. We had booked for 9am but we were ready early so headed on time, about 30 mins before. We were greeted with a friendly face (and the usual covid temperature checks and track and trace procedures) then taken to our table which was a lovely big table, with views outside on to the terrace area. It was a warm day but nice and cool inside. We ordered our full breakfast, juice and hot drinks and even though it took a while to order and then for items to come, it was really tasty and had a couple of unusual additions to it (pickled sliced red onions - made a nice change). It is a little over priced I would say and the staff looked like they were starting to get a bit stressed as we were leaving and the place was getting full, so I'd recommend going very first thing. A breakfast at Bill's would definitely set you up for the day.

We visited here recently due to being away. And what a disappointment... we turned up after booking weeks piror the have a temperature gun shoved in our face at the door. But never asked to complete any track and trace which seemed very ood. Anyway we were seated outside where I must admit it was a bit chilly. Anyway a waitress came up a went to place cutlery on the table even though we had not even order food let alone a drink. I asked the young lady if we could go inside. She seemed quite taken back buy request but she went.inside to find us another table. In this time a youngish guy came to take our order he asked if he could take a drinks order. To which I said yes but I also informed the waiter we be hopefully moving inside. Too which point the waiter then shouted. OH YOUR THAT TABLE.... and then just walked off. As you can imagine I was not impressed buy his comments at all. If your staff talk about customers behind there backs its probably best to keep that to yourself. Also the food matched the service and the young man's attitude. Good dam awful the calamari was over cooked and so was my burger it was so dry I couldn't even eat much of it. This have given me taste of the bills brand I would never visit again

Brilliant experience in a modern fresh restaurant in Cardiff bay. firstly greeted by the most polite Man, who took our temperature and through the guidelines. Whilst in good spirits he sat us to a table. waiting staff were very polite and talkative which we love in a restaurant. food was amazing, didn’t wait long for drinks or food. We booked for breakfast at Bill’s over the bank holiday weekend. The menu looked fantastic and the setting is lovely, with outdoor seating at the bay. Before arriving, we made the restaurant aware that suffer from an allergy to onion and garlic. On arriving, I was signposted to an allergy menu that didn’t include these allergens. I then spoke to a member of staff about what options might be available to me and she said that the only option was the granola - her approach was unapologetic and unempathetic and I was really disappointed about the lack of choice available to me. My partner ordered the garden plate. This sounded fantastic on the menu but in reality was over priced - £13 for a broadly average vegetarian breakfast seemed an awful lot. The service throughout our visit was under par. On more than one occasion items that we ordered did not arrive; again no apology was made for this at the time nor any effort to rectify this. For the most part staff seemed unfriendly and uninterested. We were pleased to be asked how our meal was at the end and were honest about our experience. As such, a round of drinks was taken off our bill. The member of staff who dealt with this had far more care and empathy than her colleagues and is an asset to the rest of the team - unfortunately I do not know her name but she was the single best member of staff that we dealt with during our visit. Thank you to her. Unfortunately, we will not be returning and would not recommend Bill’s to others.

We were delighted to be able to get a table on the day Bill's re-opened after being closed because of Covid restrictions.There were some problems with our order, which were somewhat resolved, albeit slowly. Whilst staff were clearly working hard it felt disorganised and we felt uncomfortable removing the 'optional' 12.5% service charge they add to the bill. Everyone (except me) ordered steak and chips, which they were all disappointed with and were convinced it was a cheaper/smaller cut of meat than advertised. I on the other hand, ordered the coronation chicken burger from the specials menu which was delicious so an extra star for that!

Has good veggie options however the food was quite bland and my husband and I cook better at home. Expensive for the small portions and would not mind if the food tasted good but was nothing special.Won't be visiting again.

My husband and I ate at Bills Cardiff Bay and although it was nice to be out during COVID-19 I must say the meal was not as good as I was expecting. I appreciate that things are different at the moment but with a sharing starter of hummus, avocado, tzatziki & toasted focaccia there were only 3 small pieces of bread which we were fighting over. My husband’s burger looked small, dry and uninteresting. It was described as burger with lettuce, tomato, red onion & spiced mayo in a sesame seed bun. There was no sign of any lettuce and the bun did not look like it was toasted. My pan fried chicken with mushroom sauce should have come with herbed mashed potatoes but the mash were plain. The creamy wild mushroom sauce was in the tiniest of jugs. I asked for a little more as Bills in Cardiff central restaurant serve a large jug of sauce. To my surprise they charged an additional £1.75 for this. Will I come back........ probably not

Considering there weren’t that many people in there on a Friday late lunch, we felt the service was a bit lack lustre. We were sat at a lovely spot at the back next to the glass to watch the world go by. The food was ok, a little on the expensive side for what it was. We would have stayed for a second drink after finishing food but there was no one around. Someone appeared 10 or 15 minutes later but we thought it safer to just ask for the bill and leave.

Mi pedido de comida llegó con la salsa de carne equivocada y también debido a una intolerancia a las papas, se solicitó que las papas fritas se cambiaran a las verduras de temporada, la camarera dijo que estaba bien. El bistec vino con una ensalada cuando volvió a preguntarle a la camarera que dijo que la ensalada era la única alternativa. Facturas visitadas el lunes 21/09. Fue realmente agradable e inesperadamente bueno para una cadena.Los protocolos de Covid eran realmente muy buenos. Controles de temperatura a la llegada, todo el personal usa máscaras y desinfectante en todas partes. La comida era sencilla, platos de carne, lubina y pollo. Pero todos fueron excelentes. Mi bistec cocinado perfectamente. Postres sabrosos y buenos.No teníamos expectativas demasiado altas, pero lo pasamos de maravilla. La comida es buena, el servicio es excelente, los protocolos de covid son excelentes y los precios, con algunas ofertas especiales, ofrecen una buena relación calidad-precio.Hace buen tiempo y comemos en su terraza. Como un grupo de 5, decidimos desayunar antes de que comenzaran las compras y estábamos agradecidos de estar sentados después de luchar en otros establecimientos por una mesa lo suficientemente grande. Personal amable y servicial. Precioso restaurante limpio con mesas por dentro y por fuera. Todos pedimos varios bollos de desayuno, tocino, huevos, salchichas y todo estaba fresco y sabroso, los bollos brioche de sésamo son realmente buenos. El café era delicioso y fuerte, nos preparó a todos para el día. Un agradecimiento especial al personal por ser tan servicial y sentarnos tan rápido que realmente fue de agradecer.

Have gone here multiple times as we love it, but this was the first time visiting since corona. Service was speedy and there was nice little hand sanitiser bottles on every table which I thought was a nice touch. But the highlight was the flowerpot dessert! Honestly the best dessert I've ever had! I know you change up your menus but I would love to see that stay for a good amount of time, taste, looks, mmmm! Could not recommend enough.

My wheat and other 'free from' essential requirements all met - special menu and attentive chef. My Thai green 'superfood' curry a bit unusual but veg and meat perfect - the former both soft and crunchy, the latter marinated and grilled beautifully. I'd describe it as a light meal - I'm used to having much more rice than was served. My guest's fish pie likewise done to perfection - not a single chewy prawn! Great selection of fish cuts, herb mash and cheers top light and delicious (she said). G/Free Rhubarb and gooseberry crumble with coffees to finish made it a memorable meal. Prices on our medium value - overall bill included 12.5% service charge. Overall we paid about £10 more than our usual budget. No significant hiking to cover the substantial extra costs and restricted income they must be enduring. Location good - with the weather last early evening permitting open French doors. A very pleasant and memorable visit..

Checked temperature before entry and names were checked with booking , showed to our tables, etc. Professional staff and friendly , Came because off the 50% eat out scheme, we were showed the menu the one was the set menu and one was the other menu I didn't get chance to have a look at menu properly felt rushed into ordering so ordered a sharing platter, which is NOT on the 50% discount, just to beware did enjoy it but glad I ordered fries to go with i felt there wasn't enough variety on the platter I mean £14.95 , I've had bigger portions than that in Cosy club much more variety for your money, I also ordered Eton mess lovely, but never had basil or whatever u call it plant on my pudding before took the taste away for my pudding , please don't add it again, is there any way of getting ikea highchairs in your restaurant than the wooden ones as they are easy to get out and can be dangerous, and when setting the table can the waiters and waitress just bare in mind when you have curious toddlers than like to touch things can they please move water and whatnot away from them has its happened quite few times when visiting restaurants, And another thing can you keep the menus on the table or have them laminated into the table so as customers we know exactly what we are paying for before the bill comes, i was quite shocked at the bill today, and the 12.5% service charge £5 something, please I understand the staff work incredibly hard though the pandemic , I paid it but there should be option if you want to pay gratuity at the end on the card payment machine not add it to the receipt,.I did enjoy my meal and paid for it . None of the staff wearing masks or shields is there a reason why , I wore a mask inside the restaurant and once ordered meals masks were tamken off ,I will be back in the future for a meal

Had brunch here on 6th Sept.The service was very good and prompt. We ordered our drinks and they came within minutes and our food came within 10 minutes. I had asked for runny eggs and they weren’t so I asked the waitress if she could change them and they did it without any fuss at all.It was a bit more expensive than cosy club but overall the breakfast had more on it (more bacon, 2 eggs, black pudding, 2 tomatoes, 3 pieces of toast) and it was served quicker.

We booked a table for 10.30 on a Saturday night. We were able to order quickly. Meals were a burger and a fish pie. The fish pie was very nice, and the burger average, but we had no condiments on the table, and were not offered any. I had a gin cocktail which was lovely. During most meals out we are asked if everything is ok, however nobody approached us at all apart from at the end of the meal to hesitantly ask us if we wanted deserts. It seemed to be a relief that we didn’t - probably as we were among the last in there. When the bill arrived it was a bit of a shock to have a 10% service charge - not something I have experienced without being notified beforehand, especially with only the 2 of us. It seemed a little much considering the basic service we had received.

They advertise that Eat out scheme is extended in September but it’s actually not, they are instead serving usual set menu priced up individually and soft drinks are full price.They say you can have 8oz Sirloin for £10 which was £19 but they have no Sirloin instead you get offered flat iron steak, and if you order that wait staff will ask you how do you like it to cook? After a couple of days away in Cardiff, we wanted to finish our visit with a good experience and full bellies. Bills did not disappoint. We were able to book a table online at 1am on Friday night for the next morning (Saturday) at 9.30am. They check your temperature upon entry and are thorough with cleanliness. It was very busy which was a good sign. We had fresh pressed juices. I had the 5 pancake stack with bacon and maple syrup (should have just had the 3 stack as it was HUGE). Hubby opted for poached eggs and salmon on muffins. Both meals were amazing. We especially loved the decor that created a great ambience. The staff were very attentive and friendly throughout. A 10% service charge is added to the bill however it does say optional and if paying by card they can take this off for you. However we were more than happy to pay it as it was well deserved. I have never paid £30 for breakfast for 2 before but it was definitely worth it and the perfect end to our visit to Cardiff Bay. This was our first Bills experience and we would definitely visit again.

The kids pancakes were amazing.Half of us came for the next two days for breakfast and it did not disappoint, the garden plate was delicious, the hot hip chocolate was a real treat and soooo nice!On my last day there I opted for the granola then felt like I should have ordered the garden plate again until I saw my giant bowl and wow Best granola I have had ever! I literally could have had another bowl it was delicious!The staff were super friendly, checked our temp as we came in and it was a one way in one way out system in the restaurant.Thanks!

Good customer service, menu looked great -especially for 50% off. Nice table, polite helpful waitresses. Starters were totally amazing, main course -fish pie was sadly awful. Couldn't touch it for 30 mins as it was ridiculously hot. So microwaved/nuked the fish was chewy and inedible but the mash potato was nice I suppose. No frills, nothing with it, just literally fish pie, no garnish nothing. Would have complained had I had to pay full price but as it was "eat out to help out" half price mash will suffice. Drinks and starters were lovely. Watch out for the added to bill 10% service charge, we only tipped 5% as it was such a poor main course. Would I go back, nah don"t think so, want to enjoy all my food preferably.

Phoned up a fortnight in advance (twice) to make sure we could have two tables together for my daughter's birthday split between two households. Got there to find they'd split us up across the furthest-away tables possible around the bar area - which meant we almost had to turn around (birthday cake in hand!). So clearly the phone calls to double-check things were useless... But luckily two different tables together were available that I pointed out so we managed to move. Very fortunate the disaster was avoided for the sake of my daughter's special day but not a great start! Food-wise, all was good, a little slow with some of the dishes coming out later than others which meant waiting around to start the ones that had arrived, but it was a busy Saturday so can't really hold a grudge. Tasty and great variety as always with Bills so very pleased. But just as with reviews below, what will stop us going back is the sheer lack of social distancing - every table was occupied, staff gathered around tills or crossing in aisles and ZERO face masks. We were rather shocked how close they got to us to take orders and serve food without masks, leaning over and so forth. I don't even get that close to my own family when they visit. Appreciated the hand sanitizer on the tables and temperature checks on arrival but that is no way fullproof against those not showing symptoms. So based on that we will no way be returning until we hear things have changed. Food was good, but one star removed for the seating mess-up and one for complete lack of social distancing.

Went straight from work and arrived 10 minutes early, was seated straight away and order taken quickly, food came nice and quick and was lovely, dessert was amazing, will definitely be my new lunch spot, bit pricey but worth the extra as the quality is there. Parking for 1 and half 3.50 across the road. Waiting staff very good and everyone’s smiling which is always nice.

Visited here yesterday for a birthday meal with the family. We were impressed that our temperatures were checked on arrival, but this should really not be a substitute for social distancing which was non existent!! All tables seem to be in use as before lockdown and covid, and staff were as close to each other and customers just like everything is back to normal! Our table on arrival was dirty and had food crumbs all over it so clearly was not cleaned correctly. We were swiftly moved to another table but it does make you worry that the tables aren't being cleaned between uses. Kitchen staff bringing down food were leaning over us to place food down. We told them at one point that we will take it off them to avoid this. Really surprised to see no members of staff wearing masks or shields, especially after visiting several other restaurant chains and independents who have all these measures in place and seem to take it much more seriously.Food was good, staff were friendly as usual and we really enjoyed all courses, but we were uncomfortable with the lack of social distancing. And really dont like that they add an optional service charge on without saying anything!

First trip to a restaurant after lockdown easing. We chose Bills because we like the food. First impressions- temperature taken on entry, hand sanitiser on the table, one way in (through the front) and one way out (through the outside seating out the back) = good.The doesn’t seem to be any difference in terms of capacity and layout. Many tables seem very close, layout has not changed since before lockdown (you can touch the next table) and there are no measures to mitigate for the lack of social distancing between tables! It is impossible to maintain social distancing so I won’t be returning any time soon! = badThere is no chance for the staff to maintain any form of social distancing, they were often clustered together around the till and not a mask or any other aid in sight. = badThe food was good, once it arrived after delays in the kitchen although my chicken burger was slightly overcooked and drier than normal it was still good. = so soOverall the food was good, the service although not speedy was friendly but as for changes post lockdown these are minimal and do not encourage any form of social distancing!

We visited as a family today, keen to return to Bill's as one of our family favourites. Excellent safety measures in place, temperature, seating, staff - other customers couldn't seem to adhere to the one way system - but hardly the staffs fault. Ordered a calamari starter as have been dreaming of it since lockdown and was not disappointed. The boys both had burgers, one buttermilk and one Bill's beef burger, and I had the minute steak with eggs and fries. Sadly, it seem sour food was sat on the pass too long, reheated which made the burgers solid and salad limo, and turned my eggs to plastic. We were asked if the food was ok, and said no sadly. Well the food was whipped away, and three new meals brought out quick as you like. The difference was like night and day, the staff and manager were fantastic and even took the food off of the bill - we didnt ask. We remain totally impressed and in love with Bills. There can always be hiccups, it's how places deal with it that counts.
