Best place for lunch in Cardiff city centre - nice selection of brunch options, coffee and cakes all seemed to be freshly made. Our food was lovely, everything looked delicious. Friendly staff and attractive venue. Will definitely return......Did return and equally as nice French toast! Have returned many times. Always lovely!!

Go to Big Moose for delicious breakfast food and coffee, and friendly staff. Try the mushrooms and Philly cream cheese on toast. It's hard to find the restaurant from Queen Street since there is no signage, so look for it on the left next to what is now a nail salon. Enjoy!

Fantastic place. I popped in as Big Moose as a charity are helping g me at the moment with my social anxiety. I’m here at the moment and had to put a review in straight away. The young lady that has been dealing with g with me here, Iris is such an amazing person the way she spoke to me. Had a quick chat with me. I could tell she’s a very caring person. I had an omelette and an iced latte which were both delicious. I don’t come into town very often due to not coping with crowds very well but when I do I will be coming back to Big Moose Coffee. A massive thank you to the lovely, caring and extremely kind Iris.

Went to Big Mouse Cardiff last Wednesday with my daughter and granddaughter.my g/daughter is 18 months so they found us a table with space for high chair. Rachel came along and was very polite and friendly. I chose omelet and my daughter chose a wrap. Teas and coffee were very quickly brought to us and the food was delicious My daughter brought a lunch box for the g/ daughter which she just tipped upside down and onto the floor They not only had to clear up her food mess but a puzzle that she had played with off the floor with a smile on her face 😁😁😁 Would highly recommend

My favorite cafe in Cardiff. These are the nicest people, always exicted to go here. Great coffee, great food, great cakes / brownies. Always returning here for eggs benedict, BELT (bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato), and their 'The Italian' : tomatoes and prosciutto on toast with balsamic vinegar. Try it all!

The best brunch in Cardiff, absolutely love big moose when looking to go for a tasty brunch and great atmosphere. As someone with severe allergies going out for food can be challenging. Big moose always takes my allergies seriously and is always happy to check ingredients. My favourite spot to go with my daughter. She loves the babyccinos and there’s some lovely books and activities to keep her entertained. Plus the staff are awesome with her. The food is also incredible. I’m yet to find anything on the menu that I don’t love ♥️

Easily one of the best places to eat in Cardiff! I don’t usually leave reviews but had to for this place, the atmosphere (and toilets) are amazing, staff are so friendly and really make you feel welcomed. I asked if I could have my french toast without yogurt, this wasn’t a problem for them, and it tasted absolutely unreal! Also had a peach iced tea which was a million times better than any I’ve tried from any other place 😋 Will be back many more times!!!

The best way to kick off the end of Christmas shopping slog was with a stop at bigmoose. Perfectly central and yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. The team are 10/10 and they have so many options for everybody. I fancied something sweet so was so happy to know that I could have French toast for lunch (and they do a vegan option too!). Couldn’t recommend it more if you’re ever in Cardiff city centre 🫶🏻

Amazing coffee and amazing staff!

The food is great and reasonably priced, but it's the friendly staff that make it a pleasure to go to. We also loved the uniquely decorated toilets. No spoilers - you'll have to visit to find out for yourself! We went as a large family group; I pre-ordered our food, it was easy and nothing was too much trouble. We felt very welcomed.

Hidden gem, great food great concept

Bigmoose is a bit of a hidden gem, just away from the crowds on Queen Street. Staff are friendly and attentive, the food is mostly breakfast/brunch style with good coffee, and they do good work as a charity/social enterprise.

What a great find - run as a mental health charity this is a superb coffee shop that i highly recommend. The service is great and the food excellent - far better than what you will find im the busier shopping centres

Fantastic atmosphere and beyond friendly staff. Greeted with a smile and taken to a table, given water before ordering. A lovely homely feel here and the toilets are the best in Cardiff...push the red button and find out why!! Great selection of drinks and cakes as well as gorgeous menu choices. Have been walking past this cafe on the way to work for several months and decided to take my mum there this morning for breakfast. I was not disappointed, service with a smile, great coffee and delicious food - we both had an omelette which was stunning! The guys serving were great and the place had a relaxed atmosphere. I had never been to Big Moose before - but as it is run by Jeff Smith (British Ice Hockey Legend - and my particular past time) I had been keen to go for quite some time - and I have had it constantly recommended to me by my fellow ice hockey fans. Having now visited, I can see what all the fuss is about. Hidden just off Queen Street in Cardiff City Centre, it really is an oasis amongst the chaos of daily life. It is not overly branded or 'in your face' and this relaxed and charming vibe was evident throughout my visit. The staff were welcoming and attentive - is was certainly nice to see people smiling in their jobs. It is not the biggest venue in the World - but you are certainly not squashed in. The venue is intimate but charming. However, the absolute highlight of the trip was the food. I had the Bacon and Avocado Bagel - and it was a thing of beauty. Fresh, tasty and the bacon certainly didn't seem mass produced - it was very thick and succulent - almost like gammon. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! 10/10 for me. I'll be back!

We regularly visit this amazing place whenever we go to Cardiff. The staff are, without exception, happy, welcoming, smiley and helpful. You’re made to feel like a friend without being overfamiliar and the service is just right - attentive but never invasive. The coffee is too notch and the food never disappoints (we’ve had lunches, cakes, snacks and breakfast). My latest brunch was the strawberry and cream cheese bagel special which blew me away!! Eat well and do good while doing so - what could be better?!

I’m coeliac, I’ve wanted to visit here for a while. I sat outside. My order was taken by a lovely lady. I told her I was coeliac which wasn’t a problem. I had a bacon and cream cheese sandwich, it was delicious, the bacon was so thick it was like gammon. James came out to check everything was ok, he was also coeliac, he asked if I liked the bread, which I did. He was very informed about a gluten free diet, and recommended some places to try. He was so lovely, in fact all the staff were lovely and very helpful. I also love the ethos behind the cafe, which is brilliant. I will definitely visit again.

Went after reading the recommendations on trip advisor. Glad we went. Very friendly staff. Lovely quirky decor. Nice selection of breakfast/brunch items. We chose the Bacon, Avocado and mozzarella Bagel, a Cheese, Mushroom and Bacon omelette and a pit of mini hash browns. It was too much for the two of us to eat! Beautiful coffee. I'd definitely return. And as previously stated, the toilet is very pretty indeed; you have to experience it to understand. ☺️
