Enjoyed a few beers with family before the Cardiff game. Good atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff.

Lovely little gem of a place. Pips open 🎤 night great,that why we were here. Shame about the smell of Old cooking Fat though. It made us feel quite sick to be honest but the staff were super friendly.

We went for Gingerino's Boss Sounds and had a blast. Atmosphere was superb and service was great and friendly. We will be back regularly.

Great Sunday dinner plus sometimes in the week days homemade goat curry which is excellent, always friendly fabulous atmosphere

Went for dinner and it's the best food I've had in a while. Steak chips I need to try there Sunday dinners next. Would highly recommend

Canton always a good place to visit

Good karaokes there on Fridays - highly recommended. However, be sure to take plenty of cash with you, as they don't accept cheques behind the bar. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

We came in here during our short stay in Cardiff and loved it. The staff and locals were so friendly, and we ended up coming in every night. It’s such a pleasant atmosphere too. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Cardiff.

Lively local pub in the centre of Canton. It's very popular with Cardiff City fans, so expect it to be busy on match days. We visited on Sunday of the bank holiday weekend. There was karaoke on and the pub was very full. Good atmosphere and welcoming staff. Be aware this pub accepts cash only.

Me and my son went there today 30/3/23. We ordered 2 steak and chips absolutely lovely. Food was piping hot steaks cooked to our liking, great price staff are amazing. Definitely be going there again and there chocolate fudge cake and cream was delicious too. X

This pub does a fantastic traditional Sunday lunch. The food is excellent, the service is great, we loved the 80s music (at the perfect volume) and the proprietors are warm and friendly. They even welcomed my friend’s guide dog. All of this for £8-£9! Really recommend this place for a gathering of friends or family.

Lovely welcoming pub and great food

Well what can I say! I been trying to get over to the Canton cross everytime the goat curry week is on and never had chance but I managed to get over this week! Not once but twice in consecutive days because it's that good. Everything on the plate is mouthwatering and so tasty. The goat meat is so tender and the curry is so tasty with the coleslaw rice and salad. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I sure will be back when it's on again. Always as is the norm too with Brian and Tracey they are so welcoming and pleased to see you. It's a 10/10 for me 👌 Thank you all X

Great for pint and a real local feel about the pub itself, customers and staff all very friendly and recognise you as soon as you walk in. Price of beer is good compared to some other places in the area. Short walk from city centre so convenient.

Food was amazing with amazing service and good prices

Go in here with my girlfriend and her cousin, friendly staff who always give a warm welcome. A great atmosphere and brilliant food (I can whole heartedly recommend the mix grill), and fantastic karaoke nights

Visited on a Sunday and had a blast. Unbeknown to us it was karaoke night and the hosts were brilliant, professional and witty. The lager and cider which we sampled was spot on, no complaints. Crisp and well priced. This pub is full of characters, which is a breath of fresh air these days. You can walk in on your own and yet won’t stop chatting all night long. Great stuff.

Great food, great service. Beer choice nothing to shout about, but overall a good, old fashioned local boozer managed by good people.

Regularly visit the Canton Cross, good friendly pub, excellent meeting place pre Cardiff City games. Great food reasonably priced. Brian and Tracey always accomodating and the staff are fabulous ❤️❤️

This pub is an absolute gem, we discovered this place on a short stay in Cardiff and have to say the locals and staff are so friendly and welcoming. The entertainment was great too, can’t wait to come back.

What a pub! I’m here now. £1 for a pool, I’m the winner. Karaoke on request - LeAnne Rimes of course - great prices, great atmosphere. I’ll be back to cardiff in September. Can’t wait to see Jo & Paul again!! Cross the road and you’re paying £5.80 for the same service. If you want a pint at home, away from home, then come here. Great old school pub!

Very welcoming and nice pub, only issue is no kids after 6 , but if you know that then no problem .

Although we used to frequent Brian's pub, we're never eaten there but had heard from a few sources that the food there was very good - especially his Sunday lunches. Although the Sunday roast wasn't a choice today, 6 of us ate from their daily specials menu. All of our meals were lovely, we had great service and the prices there are so very reasonable. We would definitely recommend and will most definitely eat there again! Thank you Brian and the young lady who served us!

i took some of my family for a lunchtime meal...we were a little early but the landlord let us wait inside because the weather outside was bad ..we all had a steak meal with lots s extra side dishes ..all the food came out freshly cooked and piping hot ... there was nothing left over as all the food was delicious ...

Sunday lunch with my son and 2 grandchildren. We were warmly greeted by the landlord. There was a choice of 4 roast meats, chicken, pork, beef and lamb. We ordered beef and lamb. Food was all freshly cooked and delicious. We managed to find room for dessert. Chocolate fudge cake, sticky toffee pudding and apple pie with custard. This is a wonderful family run pub serving excellent food. Very welcoming. I will definitely be back. And I was 2 days later. Lunch with my sister-in-law. We were warmly greeted like family friends. We had cod and chips and scampi and chips, generous portions and real chips, delicious. Followed by bread and butter pudding, made that morning. As good as my mother's. If you like good home cooked food served in friendly surroundings then this is the place to come.

We recently visited the Canton cross for a xmas lunch the service was excellent from serving drinks to serving the food promptly.The food was excellent plenty of vegetables and potatoes and came piping hot the dessert which was incl in the very reasonable price was also delicious.very friendly atmosphere will definitely be booking again.With all the restrictions put in place at the moment it was still a very enjoyable experience thankyou .

Great pre match place. With good drinks some decent cheap food. 2 for £9 etc 2 mixed grills we had for £12. Not top quality meat but excellent for money. And plenty of it. Gets busy on match days and we only just scraped a table coz only 2 of us were eating so got there a bit earlier than other friend's. Brilliant for live sport also. And noticed the poker games on mondays which I would attend if lived closer.

Any time you visit ccv before a game atmosphere great good prices and great breakfast rolls even though really busy staff brilliant wanting to ensure you're served as quickly as possible

Absolutely fabulous meal,your made welcome as soon as you walk throu the door by staff and owners nothing is to much trouble food is extremely good and not expensive a very relaxing pub a must to visit, thank you for a fab time.

Fabulous experience at this public house Landlord Tracy and Brian made us most welcome, the food we had was amazing both days,if you are in Cardiff I would recommend you pop in and have a meal and a pint of thatchers, all at very reasonable prices

Called into Canton Cross for a quick drink with my son in laws and found it to be a really old fashioned pub with a good atmosphere and friendly staff. It has a very good choice of beers and lagers and also a good menu.

Called in after a game at Cardiff City, so probably didnt get a full picture of what the bar has to offer.It was very crowded and took quite a while to get served. Decent pint, but too busy for usFriendly clientele and bar staff.

I went here with a friend for lunch (on her recommendation) - I was surprised at the quality of food given how very reasonable the price was (£8 for 2 lunches from the special menu) - would definitely go there again!
