Biggles has a special quality, step back in time restaurant. Extensive varied menu, which is cooked very well using fresh ingredients. Personal service is very high standard, silver served,a rarity these days! Fish dishes are superb, and flambeed crepe suzettes a favourite Situated on Denham airfield, had a couple of celebration meals there during past week!! Recommend...

Upon visiting Biggles Restaurant for a 70th Birthday meal with family, we couldn’t fault it. Yes, the menu is pretty vast, but the food that everyone received on a table of 13 was excellent. The service was great - special mention to Antonio! My T-Bone steak was cooked to perfection & is up there with one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. We’ll be back for sure

Fantastic Evening with friends to celebrate my birthday. The food was delicious and the service attentive but not overbearing. Although we were a group of 10 the food was served promptly and the staff checked we were happy for each course and were more than happy to amend a dish to suit the personal tastes of one diner. We will be back very soon

Although the restaurant is a little out dated and could possibly do with a make over the setting, service and good food more than makes up for this. Staff were very professional and attentive and checked with us at every course to ensure we were happy with everything. It was so nice to be served by professional experienced staff from serving salver dishes. Very traditional but very much appreciated. Food was all excellent. Fish and steaks were cooked to perfection. For dessert we ordered house speciality of crepe suzettes. These were cooked traditionally at the table. We were not disappointed

We haven't been here for many years as we moved up north, we have now moved down south again, so when it was my 75th birthday my husband asked me where I would like to go, I immediately said Biggles. We arrived at 7.30 with my sister and brother in law on a warm Saturday evening in July. Most tables were already occupied and were at various stages of eating. We were shown to our table, given the rather large menu and left to peruse it. We sat like this for about 20 minutes, until a waiter came over to take our drinks order. The drinks were bought over and at long last our orders taken. My sister, who is vegetarian, ordered avocado 🥑 vinaigrette, followed by grilled dover sole, I make special mention of her meal because she was given avocado 🥑 with prawns, which was changed, and monk fish which was also changed. My starter was very nice, avocado 🥑 with prawns and mango, but my main of duck with black cherries 🍒 was so over cooked I could hardly cut it, hubby had a very poor meal of very small scallops wrapped in very small burtn pieces of streaky bacon 🥓 followed by a very dry paella 🥘 and an even dryer sherry trifle. The dover sole and my brother in laws fillet steak were OK and enjoyed. Our drinks were a gin and tonic, a cider a glass of wine and 1 still and 1 sparkling bottle of water, and the bill came to £238!!!!!! It is very tired looking and needs to be decorated and the net curtains need a good wash Needless to say we will not be returning

What a pleasant afternoon at Biggles in Denham. We had a very friendly warm welcome on arrival. Service and food were exceptional and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We had the lunch time menu, and to be fair there was an amazing choice. Wine list was extensive from average wine to fine wines. I would certainly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. I know I will return in the very near future. Overall try it..

Oh dear. Been going to Biggles for over 20 years. Sunday lunch was bland. Only served cabbage and carrots with our Sunday Roast. No peas, no cauliflower cheese and no ratatouille. Our plates looked empty. I don't like cabbage but had small portion and I had 4 carrots my sister had same. That was all that was left on serving dish. There were only 4 of us. Salmon being served with roast potatoes wasn't good, one would normally like bew potatoes or creamy mash. Riast chicken dinner was just a piece of chicken with a piece of bacon balanced on top. Very poor. Dessert portions were smaller than usual. If you are going to cut corners on selection of veg being offered with roast dinners and small portions of desserts you will lose customers. Such a shame we have always loved this restaurant and we go back over 20 years as patrons.

The staff are just amazing and so very professional too. Well the food is just out of this world served beautifully and tasted devine our party of four were truly impressed . I would 100% recommend this lovely restaurant for its location , the friendliest staff who provide excellent service and top quality food . Well done team Biggles .

Indeed, like other reviews, stepping back in time. But it’s great to see good clean white tablecloths and neatly prepared tables. Very fresh bread and butter awaits. We went for the Sunday lunch menu, which at £28.95 for a three course meal by today’s standard is excellent value. Starters good, mains good and the beef itself was great quality. Only downside was that it got cold very quickly. Good old fashioned sweet trolley with many options. This venue seems to have a good local following as the waiters seemed to know most of the diners by name. So, all in a all, good value and traditional service.

Very disappointing Sunday lunch. The food was bland with no seasoning. The cabbage was soggy and swimming in butter and the food was lukewarm. We were a large group and were made to leave after 2 hours which was annoying as we hadn’t been told that when booking. Not cheap either. Won’t be returning.

A friend recommended Biggles to us. When I read the bad reviews about it I was concerned but we had other input which suggested it might be worth a try. So we went for Sunday lunch (Dec 10). It was very crowded and the staff managed to deliver the food with efficiency and friendliness. The set menu starters were okayish - we had the prawn cocktail and deep fried mushrooms - not exciting but okay. The Sunday roast was fine - great Yorkshire puddings and they gave us extra gravy when we asked for it. The puddings were a bit boring - I didn't like the tiramisu and my husband didn't like the trifle. The creme brulees were fine. It cost £165 for 4 people with a few drinks thrown in. I noted there were a lot of older people there, like us, who felt comfortable in the surroundings and with the old-fashioned choices on the menu. If you are in to more modern food and surroundings this is NOT the place for you. If not, it's a quirky destination - by Denham airport - where you can get a nice lunch.

The previous 2 reviews are spot on ….This restaurant was such a terrible disappointment , we took friends for a birthday celebration and on arrival it not only looked closed and unwelcoming, we were struck once inside just how old fashioned & antiquated it was , rather like a bygone era. The food which was a set menu was only ok nothing special , it was the style of service which was really poor , one could say the waiters positively ‘hovered ‘ over us rushing our menu choices …. What was worse was the feeling we should ‘eat up ‘so they could clear away, infact it was so uncomfortable once we had finished eating they made us feel they wanted us to leave ….so we did exactly that ! I don’t enjoy being told when & how I can eat bread or when asking for yet another salt cellar that didn’t work being told there was salt in it .Duhh ……. I’m not stupid ! We certainly won’t be bothering to return again .

The setting for this restaurant is within Denham Aerodrome and is set within the building next to the Aerodrome. Very 1990s in it's look. The seating was very warm with no air conditioning so that became a problem for some at the tables. There was a sweet trolley which contained tiramisu and black forest Gateaux . So none of these items were chilled before being eaten later surely a health risk. That was the second thing that alarmed myself. The starters prepared were very nice and in most cases well presented. After one of the party had left some calamari , he was questioned why he had left it and was there any thing wrong. Surely that's something your mother says to you when you leave something and you are 7 or 8 years old. The main courses came out and were all well received. After the birthday cakes were put out and consumed it was time for the bill. There were 12 of us in the party made up of mainly couples. I went up to the bar and spoke to the manager and asked if I could pay for what my fiancee and I had eaten and drunk. What then happened meant that this was the first and last time I will visit Biggles. He looked back at me and stated was I joking. I replied that I was not and then he said quite loudly in an abrasive manner we can't do that. This was witnessed by several other members of our party. I do not come to restaurants to be talked to like dirt so due to all of the things this will be the only time Biggles will be visited Shame on the management

Very strange. I drove a long way to come for Sunday lunch. Upon arrival we drove around and around looking for anything which resembled a restaurant. We discovered a bungalow with restaurant sign above front door. It did not look at all welcoming and looked a bit like something from a horror movie. Very eerie and Creapy. Sunday lunchtime but most curtains were shut ant the open curtain just has some creepy looking silhouettes, leering at us. No welcoming behaviour. Just a bit spooky. We felt safer no going in, sadly. Another group of people arrive but came to the same conclusions. Some locals appeared and advised us of a better restaurant the other side of the airport. We all went there for some cheap council food, which the locals seem to enjoy. Strange area.

We have been to Biggles many times for Sunday lunch when the previous owners had it there was always good service and always very busy you had to make a reservation well in advance for Sunday Lunch. On this occasion I didn’t have to book in advance there was no problem with availability also with the previous owners you had set times given. Again I choose my own . The service was terrible down to the cutlery and plates not be placed properly on the table . The food was okay we used to have better they used to bring the trolley around with the desserts on it used to be a bit awkward as it was always so busy so sometimes it was a bit difficult to push through. Now you are told what is for dessert which we found was a little difficult to understand a menu would have been better. Also to our surprise the restaurant remained partially empty I noticed on the piece of paper on the table near where you come in there was only a few bookings written down. Unfortunately we won’t be returning . Which is a shame as we have experienced good times at Biggles

They advertise as open on their website on Tuesday 12:00 to 14:30. This was my partners favourite restaurant when living in London and had not been for 13 years. We had to go to London, so when we was finished we drove 40mims over to find they was closed. Website says they weee open, no update to say they was closed. Opening hours on door said they’re as open. Windows upstairs were open, was like they couldn’t be bothered to open the restaurant today. Total waste driving all the way out there, we won’t bother again. If your going for lunch you might want to phone and check they have bothered to open that day!

Had the pleasure of eating lunch at Biggles last Friday. We hadn't booked and although they were hosting a large 80th Birthday party, they found us a table for 2 ( the last available). The service was friendly, prompt (especially considering the amount of diners) and very reasonably priced. The portions were great and we both left well fed. The menu is traditional and has the option of a set meal (good options) or A La Carte. Thoroughly recommend this little gem, especially if you like watching aeroplanes and helicopters. Our daughter booked this for Easter Sunday. Was looking forward to having a meal. I had the beef Wellington the steak inside was cooked to perfection but just sliced mushrooms on top . The duck was so so . Our daughter meal of fish was ok , son in law steak looked perfect. Our grandchildren had the Sunday roast which also looked good. No choice of different vegetables so only had what would be served on a Sunday. Biggest let down was the fact that the children paid full price not a children's menu. Because our daughter was paying and she did not want to complain, i just kept quiet.

I don’t get it…I went to Biggles at the weekend with a larger group and so in preparation I checked out reviews online. Despite the good rating on Trip Adviser, the photos were not at all inviting and my expectations were low and they certainly met them!

Recommended by our friends, and they were right! Be prepared to step back in time, but mostly in a good way - even the weekday prices are quite nostalgic at £21.50 for lunch or £24.50 for dinner (both plus 10% service) for a very decent set menu with a choice of six different dishes for each of 3 courses, plus an extensive a la carte menu if you want it. With this you get friendly and attentive service, and a pleasant busy-ish atmosphere. The food varies from good to excellent, and value for money is hard to fault for someone more used to Central London prices. We will return. Good Show, chaps (and chapesses)!

We booked Biggles for 4 people as we have been here many times before and not been here seen Manuel had sold the business. So we thought we would try it as we were told noting had changed.

I met some friends here for dinner on a Wednesday evening and we had the most fabulous meal - we chose the fixed menu for £24.50 and it was worth every penny. The waiters are attentive and excellent at what they do, and the food was wonderful. As soon as you are given a piping hot plate you know you have a chef who cares about food and we were not disappointed. I had the best ratatouille I have ever tasted, the vegetables are properly served at table and are superb, and the sweet trolley is to die for. There is a lot of fish on the menu and a very eclectic mix of other dishes from round the world, although the families who run it are Spanish. This is not a cheap place to eat but it is definitely where you will have an immaculate meal to remember and I would go there again like a shot when next in the area. I cannot recommend it more highly.

Had a meal with a group of friends and found the staff very friendly. The food was good but not outstanding. I would describe it more as good pub food not fine dinning. The journey there even with satnav in the dark was challenging to say the least but arrived eventually. The house wine was not very good so we order an expensive Rioja as an alternative which was excellent but expensive. Spending over £50 per head I would expect a better dinning experience.

This place is a time warp! A 1930s house adjacent denham aerodrome with a 1970s fit out and service tight down to the sweet trolley! Superb food, large portions and an Italian style waiter service. All that is missing is the Blue Nun or Black Tower wine and a Ford Granada in the car park and you would think you had stepped back 4+ decades - in a good way! Well worth a visit.

Went to Biggles for the 1st time with friends and what a wonderful restaurant. The food was excellent with a really extensive menu, the service was very friendly and the staff could not do enough for you. This restaurant is now certainly on our list and my wife and I will certainly be returning soon.

It's old fashioned but to me that's part of the charm - went for our Anniversary, had pre dinner drinks, 3 courses each with a bottle of wine. The whole thing was wonderful

Out of 400+ reviews this is still in my top five. Very busy at weekday lunchtime. Elderly clientele who still dress up for lunch. Wonderful latin staff, great welcome. Critics are right about the 70's vibe but delicious food. Set meal great value with plenty of old favorites followed by a proper sweet trolley. wish I lived nearer.

Visited recently with our neighbours. First time I have been back for a long time and unfortunately the 'throwback to the 70's' vibe' is still there. Food was okay but the general ambience/decor of the place is just so outdated. Depressing evening. Will not be returning.

Had a very enjoyable evening at Biggles with friends who dine there regularly. Plenty of parking on arrival and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Service throughout the meal was efficient, yet at the same time we were not rushed. We ate from the set meal which was excellent value for money. I was undecided as to what to choose as the options were well thought out. In the end I decided on smoked salmon wrapped prawns, followed by veal as a main course. The sweet trolley was heaving and I chose oranges in brandy, always a favourite. The main courses were served with four vegetables, I particularly like the fried onions mixed into the potatoes, all the portions were generous. Four of us dining from the 3 course meal, a bottle of wine and coffees for everyone worked out to £30 a head including a tip, very good value.

The food and service are still excellent, may appear a little dated with it's white fiver and review from late actor John Mills on the wall but I thought it was superb.

This is my favourite Thai restaurant. The food is delicious, fresh and expertly cooked. I particularly love the fish cakes and fish and prawn dishes. You also can’t go wrong with their green curry too. The staff are incredibly helpful and attentive. It’s tucked down a side street so easy to miss, but you should definitely find it and go here.

We have been visiting Pride Of Burnham for many years we’ve eaten in and also have had lots of takeaways. Khan and his whole team make us feel very special when visiting. We cannot fault the food and the friendly service that we receive we would not go to any other Indian restaurant. This is our go to place prices are very reasonable.
