We came for my wife’s 40th birthday for some opulence and decadence, and weren’t disappointed! The service was exceptional, with some fantastic recommendations for aperitifs and wine pairings with our main course choices. Tremendous steak and duck for main and some gorgeous puddings too. Would recommend for a special occasion or a regular haunt if money is no object!

We were enjoying a pre-wedding celebration of afternoon tea and it met every expectation and more. We all had a wonderful time. Our dietary needs were extremely well catered for and the food was perfect. We were made to feel very special, especially the bride to be and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea experience. Huge thanks to the chefs, waiting and other staff for their attentiveness and professionalism.

Came for an afternoon tea. Everything is so well thought out; you get out of your car and somebody leads you to the concierge where they take you to your table where they pass you to somebody who shows you your menu. You really don’t have to think for yourself at all, it’s all done for you. Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, you can’t fault them. The house itself is of course beautiful, with fantastic views of the grounds, creating a wonderful atmosphere. I’ve seen other reviews faulting the food itself, however I find these over critical and pretentious. You come for afternoon tea and that is what you are served… tea… in the afternoon… There’s an abundance of teas to choose from (or not tea if you desire) which they will bring you endless amounts of, the food tastes good and they will also bring you endless amounts of this if you ask, we didn’t need to do this though as there’s already so many things to choose from, in fact we had to take some home. Scones great, cakes great, savouries great and sandwiches great. Not sure why the amount of filling in the sandwiches is bringing some reviews down to a 2. If you want a big fat sandwich go to Gregs. Loved it and would return and recommend.

Afternoin Tea The location is absolutely fabulous; the staff is kind and caring. There is good quality and quantity of tea blends, but the food is a no, especially for the vegan options, so poor without any research at all. I can make amazing vegan sandwiches myself and even the sausage roll is better at Greegs. Paying 75 quid and the chef should be well prepared and trained to match any dietary needs

While the location is incredible and looked beautiful at Christmas, and the staff are friendly, we were really underwhelmed by the food. At that price point, festive afternoon tea should be abundant. But the sandwiches were so mean - barely any filling in the egg. Yes you can order more, but we’d prefer quality over quantity. The mini muffins and mince pies were dry and the cakes a little lacklustre. In comparison to other similar places, we were disappointed.

We were thoroughly spoilt on our visit to the dining room at Cliveden. We were shown to a table by a window looking out over a splendid view down to the Thames. Every member of staff fulfilled their roles perfectly being friendly, efficient and professional. The Sunday lunchtime menu while not extensive provided sufficient options to suit every taste. Our meal was excellent from start to finish and while perhaps might be regarded as a little expensive, was excellent value considering an experience which we will find difficult to better.

Dirty cutlery. Table clothes that hadn't seen an iron. A vegetarian menu that was a joke. Brocolli for starter and main. The most uncreative vegetarian food I've ever come across. And expensive... Just Brocolli. Staff where great but just suprised at the lack of attention to detail in the dining room. Massively overpriced for such a low class experience. Being British and on a special occasion we didn't want to make a complaint at the time as it would have soured the whole thing but I wanted to get half our money back. Not good. Never again. Also... What you see as an example menu... Is nothing like what we got on the day. The Roast Chateaubriand of Beef was no better than something I roast at home and repeating the starter on the mains for a vegetarian choice is poor to say the least. You also get the lovely experience of a broken toilet in the gents. Really?!

Afternoon Tea : Cliveden is lovely. The staff were all lovely. The views from the dining room are stunning. The Afternoon Tea itself was quite underwhelming: we couldn't fault the friendly and attentive service at the table, but the afternoon tea itself really disappointed, at a significantly inflated premium. They need to address the cost/quality of the offering; I was embarrassed. In future I will stick to walking the grounds as an NT member, and enjoy an outdoor pastie and coffee from the small cafe/shack.

Booked Sunday lunch for my birthday as a treat as thought it would be really special with exceptional food and service. In truth very hit and miss. Lovely grand hotel but felt rushed to the dining room so you're not loitering enjoying the entrance hall. The best things about the meal was the sommelier (who naturally knew how to provide good, attentive, service), the rioja (was gorgeous, though £24 a glass), and the roast lamb (perfectly done and came with plenty of accompaniments). However the salmon starters (though using high quality salmon) felt a bit unbalanced with other things on the plate, and the dessert of salted caramel tart was hard and gluey it became inedible. The service though nice enough just didn't particularly make you feel special. It was nice to try as was on my wishlist for some time, but unfortunately wouldn't recommend to others now I've been as expected something more.

Decent fine dining, good service. The mocktails are not good, essentially mixed juices. Ambience feels a bit dark and cold. For a similar price range, we have other establishments in the wider area we prefer.

The interiors are beautiful for a dining experience and especially with a window seat. However, we ordered the 7 course tasting menu and we were seated for 2 hours before the 3rd course was served, with at least a 30minute wait between the 2nd and 3rd course. Luckily we had one very entertaining waiter or otherwise we would’ve been too frustrated at that point. One thing to note: the amuse bouche is included as a course on the 7 course menu, so in fact this is a 6 course menu, and portions are quite small, but the trout and the pineapple desert were the main highlights of this menu.

Came here for the vegetarian tasting menu to celebrate our anniversary. We don't normally go for fine dining as often it feels like some kind of awkward charade where everyone sits in silence for fear of breaking some obscure unwritten etiquette, however we both felt very comfortable here. The views are spectacular, and the venue is truly extravagant. The staff were very friendly and treated everyone equally, so we felt very welcome. Everyone was super on top of the COVID-19 measures, ensuring masks were worn at the appropriate times, hand-sanitisers were used etc. The food was excellent, each of the 7 courses was impeccable, definitely worth the money. We did have troubles locating the restrooms (I had to get two people to describe were they are, both instructions were a vague set of "go left after the curtains then right then left"), and it was assumed that we were having the meat tasting menu, we had some flagging down to quickly change it to vegetarian before it was too late. However in conclusion we both really enjoyed our time, both the food and the experience, and definitely would be returning again in the future.

Best beef Wellington I’ve ever had and the Desert trolley was a great addition - there’s always room for pudding right?! Service was pretty old fashioned and the ambience too quiet to have any fun but the food was delish.

Absolutely mind blown, the menu was out of this world and catered for vegetarians with the best most exciting dishes rather than the same old pasta and risotto. Ambience is perfection, service makes you feel like royalty! This is our new favourite place and can’t wait to come back for the festive afternoon tea very soon!

Just reading the reviews as that’s what many who’re thinking of visiting, base whether it’s worth the travelling, and one particular review I found very interesting, and that’s from Tasnim Awan. I would be interested if in their land of origin if it would be possible to have either a lovely English cream tea or a full English breakfast? Myself and my partner found this manor to be very grand traditional English heritage just as it should be, and it should remain as British as it was intended and not converted into a international cuisine theme park. Top stars all round and we both would return again without question.

My family and I had a pleasant Sunday lunch. We sat at a table with a view. The food and service were excellent, but when we were called to our table, the waitress put our pre-lunch drinks on a tray then poured the rest of my tonic into my drink without asking me , spoiling my preferred mix of my gin and tonic.

Lovely place with good food and coffee! This place was buzzing during weekend so be prepared there will be a queue. It took us 10 minutes to get a table for 4 this time. Food was great, coffee was lovely and I will come back for other popular items next time.

Great and spacious space to visit, well-maintained, clean and with its own parking spaces behind the building. The atmosphere is cosy and friendly, and the service is impeccable.
