We had our wedding here on Saturday and had the most perfect day. The pub is gorgeous (inside and outside) and they pulled off a delicious 3 course sit down meal for 65 people without a hitch. Gracia and the team were so professional and lovely, the quality of service was outstanding. We had a band in the evening which worked really well in the space. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough!! Thank you all!!

I really can’t recommend this place enough! Me and my husband went here for Sunday lunch 2 weeks ago. It has been a long time since I have seen such passionate staff, both front and back of house. All staff could not do enough for us, and very enthusiastic! All the food looked and tasted freshly made. Chris even came out to see us as heard it was our first time visiting. (His customers clearly matter to him) I went for a three course meal with roast beef but asked for crackling and pigs in blankets, as well as having dietary restrictions. They made it effortlessly which made me feel relaxed and content, while my husband treated himself to some special wines. Also have a great outdoor space for events with lots of parking. I had such a lovely time I can’t recommend this place enough and look forward to returning soon!

Very good gastro-pub type food since the recent refurb and change of management but still a convivial pub atmosphere and decent ales. Recommended!

We struggle around Stoke Poges for a decent pub serving good food and offering great service so Chris Wheeler at The Crown Inn is a breath of fresh air! My husband and I along with our dog had lunch there on Sunday - yes they're dog friendly! The service was great, we received a warm welcome and were well looked after throughout our meal and the food was delicious - we'll definitely be back and will recommend to others looking for somewhere to eat locally. Highlights were the prawn cocktail starter, seabass main and bakewell tart dessert.

When you book the rooms , you then receive a text on how to access the room So you don't need to check in Has a big carpark Rooms were uo a flight of stairs entry is via coded lock The room was very spacious and very stylish Shower room was on the small size . The bed was super comfortable WiFi was excellent Shower was hot and powerful The tea/coffee was in the joint use kitchen which has a fridge . in the room was a mini fridge and it was all included in the room and crisps snacks also a free cook book ! Evening meal was excellent a tad pricey but to be expected in that kinda of pub Breakfast not included. Location is set in a small village close to Burham beeches reserve . Would definitely stay again if in the area and when it's at a good price!

Went to a wake there at the weekend. Lovely place , friendly staff , great food put on and dog friendly!

Absolutely amazing, we attended a wedding reception there that catered for approx 70 people, food and service exceptional, chef was present at all times making sure everyone was having a good time. Cannot rate this enough. Will definitely go back again

Been visiting this lovely place since the day we moved into the area. Dont be fooled this is not a pub its a gastronomic delight. The food is geninely delicious, i mean we have ordered almost everything on the menu, always fresh, beautifully presented deserts and all made with great care. Martin and his staff are so professional and friendly, delivering exceptional service everytime we have visited - which is often. My little dog used to love it here, my wife loves the food and warm welcome and even my baby smiles at all the wonderful staff. A real local gem which we are so pleased to have near us. Perfect.

We recently celebrated my Dad’s 70th birthday at The Crown Inn. There was an initial concern when we arrived due to a change of management who hadn’t been advised of our reservation by the former manager. Despite this, the manager Martin and Chef went the extra mile to cater for around 30 of us with a fantastic buffet and still dedicated the Garden Room area for us as originally planned. All went smoothly which meant we were all able to relax and enjoy our time there and focus on the celebrations. Thank you to the whole team!

We held a family birthday party here and had a fabulous evening. All our guests thoroughly enjoyed the food and the family members with allegies were especially catered for. Service was friendly and good - we certainly will be returning.

Not really an "Inn" and certainly we didn't find it welcoming, rather the opposite. Popped in without booking, to have a drink, maybe food, the barman was great but the ladies fussing around were not welcoming at all, actually did their best to make us feel in the way! Pity as great location, we pass what we thought was a nice pub often, but won't be going back. Needless to say we didn't stay for food and they really need to work on their service skills and CLEAN YOUR BEER LINES!

Fantastic Sunday Roast and caters well for vegans and vegetarians

Food could have been better, ordered sausage and mash. Felt like yesterday's sausages, mash was lovely. Bit out of the way for me normally, would go back if my first experience was better.

Nice atmosphere and very good service. Food was enjoyable, but not outstanding. Went for a team Xmas lunch. The reviews around the table were generally good - turkey thumbs up, nut roast was small but fine, I had the bream which was very nice. Starter was cerelac soup which hit the spot. Desert was a lemon tart with sorbet which was average to good. The only thing I would say is the portions were a bit on the small side, although the people that had turkey were happy with portions.

Seriously good food and such wonderful friendly service. Really nice menu choice and every dish was just delicious. Would highly recommend for both a romantic dinner and larger gatherings as the seating options can be cosy or more open.

Lovely country pub. Loads of outside space.

A decent pub with a good beer garden. The food is good, and the staff were very helpful and quick. The big garden and play area make it kid friendly, while still allowing others to have a quiet meal. There is lots of good walking nearby, especially through Burnham Beeches. (Though the last 100m along Crown Lane is not the most pedestrian friendly - an alternative footpath to Thompkins Lane needs to be known about). That said most people will probably drive and there is lots of parking. Only downside is that it is slightly on the pricey side though.

First experience at Chris Wheeler's new location The Crown, since leaving Stoke Park as Head Chef. Now Chef Patron here. Tucked away down a winding lane, passing trade must be relatively few so it needs some better publicity to boost it. We ate on a Saturday and still some tables were empty. Having said that, the food was excellent. Beautifully presented, hot and delicious. We had the tasting menu. Absolutely delightful. Great standard and as good as we got at Stoke Park when that was functioning. The bar and restaurant staff need some training. Although the front of house Manager was experienced and did oversee our order, she does need better support for a smoother running service. Will go again as the food definitely is worth the journey. Tip: Be prepared for a pitch black car park when you leave the pub. A few lights directed that way from the pub would make getting back to your car a lot more pleasant.

Definitely a must visit! The food was creatively presented and absolutely delicious, the staff is very warm and welcoming, and the cocktails were very generous! My family and I highly recommend it.

Had a really nice Sunday lunch. We arrived around 2, we were seated quickly in the well decorated and clean dining area backing onto the garden. We were served quickly and the food came out in good time. We just had main ,roast beef with veg and a nice Yorkshire pudding. Veg was all cooked well and potatoes were tasty. All in all a very good roast. Definitely worth a visit.

Female manager very rude to staff on multiple occasions while not helping, telling bartender off for mopping up a spillage and not serving first. Health and safety of staff comes first, manager may need a reminder.

Not been here before but was super impressed - a hidden gem !! The food was outstanding - great plant based dishes as well

Had Sunday lunch last weekend and wasn’t impressed, two very thin slices of beef, Yorkshire pudding seemed deep fried very hard and unpleasant and roast potatoes 4/10. Considering the new chef Chris Wheeler had taken over for £23 a roast was not impressed at all :(

Lovely location and the staff are friendly. Inside is cozy and outside have a lovely play area, all surrounded by horses.

Quaint pub, went here for a Christmas dinner with colleagues. Had the earm brie starter, salmon for main and a poached pear for dessert. Great service. Great staff.

Lovely pub to have a drink and nice food

Not been to this pub for nearly twenty years, but visted for a roast this weekend and wasn't disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and catered to our pre-madonna of a dog as well as treating us well. Roast was great quality and well priced. Will definitely return.

The service friendly, the food devine , the outside fresco dining is just lovely . We were an extended family group of 12 with 2 young children and all the food was served on time and piping hot , even the veg was flavoured to perfection . The children were not offered the usual rubbish child menu of chicken nuggets and chips , but could have a smaller roast and other options , my great nephew loves chips so he asked to have sausages with chips and veg , even the chips were devine , he eat the lot . Highly recomend and great value .

Lovely location on the edge of Burnham Beeches. Well set out garden. Food was gorgeous and well priced, generous portions too. My one moan is that there was only one cask ale on. Staff couldn't do enough for us.

I visited the Crown Inn today and was really disappointed by the fact that there is a severe wasp infestation in the garden that hasn't been dealt with. We asked to move inside and were told that they were short staffed and we could therefore not be accommodated inside, even though a member of our party also had a severe allergy to wasp stings. We had wasps on our food and in our drinks. This made the whole experience extremely unpleasant for everyone and we could not enjoy our food. Unfortunately my dog was stung while we were there and the staff member who served us mentioned that she had been stung several times while at work. If the problem cannot be dealt with please notify customers ahead of arrival so we can make a decision about whether we want to eat here or not. There were no citronella candles and no offer of insect repellant which I thought should be the bare minimum for this situation. Extremely disappointed with this and the attitude of the supervisor who I spoke to which was basically "deal with it", with no offers to replenish the drinks that had wasps drowning in them nor to accommodate us indoors due to allergies.

We attended a wedding reception at The Crown, it was a great evening, the staff did a super job in looking after us all.

Returned here because I really fancied their yummy Ploughman's Lunch. However no indoor service was available.

Sunny warm evening so they had the garden bar open. Play area for the kids. Horses in the field next door. Lovely, relaxed and friendly.

I had a panko chicken burger meal and my partner had fish and chips, both were good sized portions and tasty. However we did think some of the other meals on the menu were quite pricey. (We had stopped for food on the spur of the moment and weren't intending to have an expensive meal.)

Nice pub. Good selection of beer on tap. There is a large area out the back with it's own bar and seating for the summer time. Slighty more expensive food menu than some but the food is of an excellent quality.

Felt very welcome before we got though the door service and acceptance was acceptanabel with staff and costumers with wheelchair nothing was to much trubel food was more than expected lamb so tender melt in the mouth big up to the team thank you for making our day fabulous best meal and birthday experience ever thanks so much will Come back

Not a bad country pub which is close to Burnham, Slough and skirts the wonderful Burnham Beeches.

Brilliant little pub, both dog- and child-friendly. We had dinner there, and the food was both tasty and plentiful, and very reasonably priced. Finally, and deserving of special mention were how incredibly polite and helpful the staff were. We've promised ourselves to drive out there again at some point.

We had my husbands nans wake here and they was brilliant aswell the food was great and just kept coming. A lovely warm cosy feel to the pub and the staff was amazing

Burger was over cooked and dry, I asked for no onion in my meal, but received onion in the side salad. Service was poor; no sauces offered, we had to keep flagging down the waiter for drinks orders, half the table was cleared then the guy got distracted and came back 20 mins later to clear the rest. Due to slow service we had no time for tea/coffee/dessert. We allowed 2 hours for a team lunch of 8 people. We only managed 1 course!

Beautifully presented pub with the right kind of rustic feel. It was a very quite Wednesday visit. Yet the team where friendly and hospitable. The food was a tasty pub fyre that went well with the authentic pub feel. Defo recommend

Been there recently. Nice place but they said, no food. Rude staff. they weren't even looking at us but busy with their social world on their phones and looks at us like we owe them something . lol. Horizon Burnham LTD have been using crown paint Slough store for a couple of years on a regular basis, and have always found the staff Pam and Byron to be very helpful they are very polite and always happy to help there service is excellent.

Great garden, nice staff and good beer.

Had lunch there today with my toddler , teen and fiancé. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was amazing, beer battered fish was HUGE! Loverly seating outside and the horses out the back was a added bonus. Will be returning again soon!

We wanted to stop somewhere for a bite to eat before we arrived at the hotel we were staying in. We were so impressed. The light bite we ordered was huge and arrived with chips. Value was brilliant and lovely wine on offer. The outdoor seating is comfortable and the surroundings are pleasant. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and the service exceeded expectations. If we're ever in the area again we will be stopping for another lovely meal.

The good: lovely location, friendly, good and fast service, very organised for COVID, responsive to noon-standard requests like a glass of milk, reasonably priced for the area. The bad: the food was... not great. Bland garlic bread, watery moules marinere, ok chicken burger. We didn't have dessert because nothing appealed, and asked for coffee - which they don't serve in the warmer months. Also the kids burger was served pink in the middle after the wrong one was brought, and so my daughter wouldn't eat it. This is such a pity, because they got everything right apart from making the food tasty.

Food was really nice but the staff lacked attention to the customers. Took a while to get drinks, cutlery came after food by a few mins and my mums roast was without gravy until asked. Not marking down incase of new staffing but definitely needs more order and attentiveness. Fish is really nice and tastes fresh although the peas are a tad strange and the tartar sauce was just slapped on the plate looking like an explosion had just taken place.
