Big Smoke Taphouse & Kitchen in Hillingdon

There are comfortable seats with the option to charge your phone. 😊 The food isn't exactly cheap at the airport, of course, but it was very tasty. We had a cheeseburger, which was really great, and chicken tenders, which were a perfect, delicious snack. To drink, we had a good apple cider and a delicious English breakfast tea with milk and sugar. Our waitress, Taranjit, took good care of us. She kept coming by to see if we needed anything. She also asked for a review, and since we were satisfied, I'm writing one now. 😊 If you're in the mood for something small or something larger, or just want a quiet drink, this is the place! The only negatives were the lighting (a bit dim) and the crack in the seat. Otherwise, everything was fine. 😊

Had a lovely full english Breakfast here, Before my Transit flight to BangkokThailand then to Jakarta indonesia,… bigSmoke Staff Miss Harpreet served me exceptionally well… Met all my little request and modifications to my breakfast, i wanted Low Carbohydrates and maximum Fats and Protein, So six eggs done in all the ways they can do it, fried, Poach and Scrambled and Sausages and Bacon… Absolutely fabtastic, What a Treat before my long 16hour flight, Thank you aonce again BigSmoke chefs For such a Bang On Quality of full English and Eggs, Thank you mrs Harpreet once again for the wonderful Table service, a very serving smile and character,… More staff like her would make a Great Team to customer service i think.. Very pleasant Guinness and the ham, egg and chips was spot on. Best part was the lovely, attentive service from Premal. Airports are not usually the best places to hang-out but he made it a lot better indeed.

Went to this place for a quick early morning breakfast to my surprise I received my full English breakfast but unfortunately the restaurant don't have cutlery as informed by the lady waitress and had to wait six minutes to eat my breakfast and received the cutlery later such a shame and horrible experience never going there again.sorry

Nice place for a lazy drink and snack before flying. Claudia serving me a great replacement beer for the IPA, and finding a tasty humus with crispy topping out of nowhere. Such a personalised approach, much appreciated Claudia!🙂

Manshamm provided great service! Quick, good with with conversation, and checked up on me and my mum, which I didn’t expect in such a large place that’s so busy. Overall very good, and the food was also solid! Keep well out there Manshamm! :)

Well I asked for a table for 1 and I was put by a service station where there was a Walky talky witch was very loud you could here every thing the staff was saying. I ordered a pint of Stella and the chicken wings. When the chicken wings came to my table, the chicken wings looked like pigeon wings as they was that small. They hardly had any bbq taste on them, the blue cheese dip was very watery. The waiter asked if the food was ok and I said not really wings were pink in the middle and he apologized for this. Then he told his manager about it then the lady came and spoke to me regarding the issue and told me she would speak to the kitchen regarding this. Then Claudia came back to me and was very apologetic regarding this situation. I said to her it is not your fault. I will say I am disappointed with the standard of the restaurant it has gone down hill since the last time I was here. I hope you will recognize how much effort the Claudia puts in to please your guests when mistakes like this happen. She was fantastic

The height of outrageous and bad. You're sent from the entrance like a piece of luggage to the smallest possible table, then have to complete your entire order using a poorly designed app, pay by card in the app, and for 30 pounds you get a shoe sole that bears no resemblance to the rib-eye you ordered and is truly tough and dry. Incidentally, there were exactly 1.5 peppercorns in the peppercorn sauce. It's well known that you get ripped off at airports, but this has reached a new peak.

Food was lovely. Quick, which I needed before getting a flight and the dessert especially cheesecake was great. In particular Ajay and his service was excellent. Friendly, brought everything quickly, very attentive and happy to recommend some good food!

The wings were horrible l, like they were precooked and warmed up when we placed our order. I could not tell what flavour they were, I had to dip them in barbecue sauce so just so I could manage eating them. Never again will I eat from here

BigSmoke at Terminal 2 is a must-visit! The burgers are juicy, the portions generous, and the smoky flavour is on point. Perfect spot for a tasty pre-flight meal. Big shoutout to Mansham for the solid recommendation

Had the Mac and cheese and brisket, was absolutely gorgeous! Nice music in there too. I was served by the lovely Harpreet, she was very good, timed her visits to me perfectly to see if I needed anything.

Just had a great lunch at Big smoke, reasonable bottle of wine and some sharing platters. Place has a nice atmosphere, made all the better by the attentive staff, especially Louritta, nothing was too much trouble 😁

The steak is definitely poor quality. Even when I informed the Waiter, he couldn't eveb do anything. I won't recommend ordering steak.

Absolutely horrible customer service! I had a breakfast take away and asked for some tomato ketchup and a bag, they didn’t have any of my requests saying “We don’t have it because this is a sit down restaurant!” Then handed me a big bottle to squeeze directly on top of my take away food:( When I handed back the bottle of ketchup the waitress sarcastically said “You’re welcome!” Then started laughing and giggling with the manager ‘Are’. Whether they were laughing at me (a customer) or not, the whole situation was very awkward and unpleasant. I was thinking myself, ‘why should anyone receive this kind of extremely rude and unpleasant treatment from a restaurant staff by purchasing their food and services?’ I absolutely do not recommend this kind of place until they come up with professional and service oriented staff members with adequate take away amenities like paper bags, packaged ketchups and etc.

I went to big smoke today and I was being served in the bar, the people were nice but they was lacking in still and sparkling water which I found unfathomable how can u lack in water the service was nice though. Staff is friendly just upset I had to go out to get my own water.

Surprisingly good for airport dining, we had a short wait for a table as it was very busy. Order was taken quickly, and modifications to one of the meals was sorted with no issue (exchange the mash for broccoli). Nice glass of wine. Very attentive service from Louritta, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely eat here again when we’re in T2 😎

Overall it was overpriced, very underwhelming and not a great experience. My expectations when eating at airport restaurants is already very low and this didn’t even meet that very low bar Two of the 5 meals ordered came out cold. Service was horrible and customer service was very lack lustre. Server was very disorganized and not very helpful when asking questions about menu items. . Suggest looking at other options when at Heathrow Airport. Save your money and time eating elsewhere. You will be happy you did

Absolutely sensational. Had a 5 hour wait for my flight. I wondered across Big Smoke in terminal 2. I sat had a white wine and a beer at the bar. Service was great. The ambience felt amazing. I left and found myself returning an hour or so later, as I still had time to wait for my flight. I got a table the 2nd time. And ordered the burnt pork belly ends… portion wasn’t a big as I expected but 100% worth the money. It so amazing. One of the best pork belly’s I’ve ever eaten!! Really really good. Polina the host, was amazing. Very kind and polite. She attended to my needs and gave me the table I requested. Thank you - this will definitely be my number 1 stop when flying through Heathrow!
