Today I ate at big smoke in the Luton airport and I was very satisfied. I was served by Andreas who was very friendly and was very welcoming.

Today i had a meal with my family and at the Big Smoke Taphouse & Kitchen at the Luton airport and I had the pleasure of being served by one of the best waiters I’ve ever encountered. From the moment he seated us he made us feel truly welcome with his warm smile and genuine enthusiasm. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, Andreas managed everything with grace and efficiency. Great service can truly transform a meal, and Andreas proved his exceptional professionalism, kindness, and passion for his work.

While the restaurant meets the typical expectations for an airport spot—good, reliable food with a solid menu—what truly stood out was the exceptional service. Nikhil, who was working during my visit, had such a warm and welcoming presence that it really made the experience special. His smile and attentive nature brought a personal touch that’s often hard to find in busy airport settings. It's clear he takes pride in his work, and I truly appreciated the positive energy he brought to the experience. He deserves recognition, and honestly, a raise! Highly recommend this place, and make sure to say hi to Nikhil if you're lucky enough to be served by him.

The drawing on the coffee is strange, isn't it? The waiters were nice people!

4 out of five stars, portions are quite small for a traditional English breakfast dish, which came for 15£ sausages are worth trying, though I have to warn you, you will feel dry and thirsty after eating it, place is overcrowded and seats are too close to each other. Worth trying once but there are definitely other places better than this one.

A nice place for quick and quality food. Tasty and simple. The tables could use a wipe after each customer, and a bit more ambient lighting but otherwise our experience was good.

The english breakfast tasted nice although my plate was big the contents were on the small side. Charging for toast as extra by the slice was unexpected, first time iv'e had to pay per slice! The smoothy was the smallest ever for £5.95 and my son finished this in 60 seconds. For sure this is not a BIG breakfast at BIG smoke at all.

Wouldn't recommend the food, coffee and smoothies were abominations.

I ordered a full breakfast The link sausage was off I told the waitress and she tried to fob me off by saying it was a certain brand I told her this was irrelevant as the sausage was clearly off I told her to inform the chef and instead she spoke to her managers who offered a saving on the bill ten percent. The sausage was still being served when I left to catch my flight. I have since called environmental service at Luton borough council . Please be very careful people.

breakfast is something awful you can't even call it breakfast and this bacon 2 cm wide and 90% fat this sausage I don't know if they made a mistake because I don't know if a dog would eat it

Ordered steak, server brought it and walked away never asked if I need anything else, like salt or some sauce for the bland meal I received. I waved another waiter that ignored me, I waited a bit then walked up to him and asked if he can bring me some sauces. Orded medium steak, received rare, never had check on food when I questioned why he told me he never served my food and that I am rude...if I pay £30 for cheap steak I expect some sort of service and that wasn't even bare minium... Another thing management teach your staff about health and safety at work!! What kind of bacteria are on the floor! Your waitress dropped cloth on the floor, picked it up and carried on cleaning tables with the same cloth. When you charge ppl so much money there should be at least minimum customer service. While I was writing this manager came up and have me 20% discount. Some serious training needs to happen in this establishment

For an airport restaurant this place is very good. What made this place extra lovely was the service from Andreas. From the moment we sat down we were put at ease and he was extremely attentive. Just ordered full breakfast , asked could I have the coffee with the breakfast , was told no the coffee will Come first so I cancelled the coffee and ordered when. The breakfast came . The mushrooms Are tinned mushroom the beans were over cooked the bacon was cold and the hash browns were very greasy. Two eggs over easy ordered , one over easy and one hard came . Had finished my breakfast and was eating g my toast and stilll no coffee . I had to order again and again . Very poor service indeed .

The restaurant is located in the middle of Luton Airport. There are two parts of the restaurants, one is close to the kitchen the other part is more in the middle of the hall. The food is pretty good, however, the portion is a little bit small. I would recommend the burger and bangers and mash. The Mac and cheese is very rich and strong. The kid might find a little bit too much, for me it tastes really good. There are quite a lot plug sockets for you to charge your devices.

Horrible Experience, waited 20 minutes to be seated, there were visible tables available but needed clearing and the woman told us we had to sit apart? We asked for the large table (that was available) as we were a large party travelling, so she rolled her eyes and said she would clear it. she then proceeded to take over 10 minutes to clear this table moving cups back and fourth and adding to the mess!! In the end we ended up leaving. Awful customer service.

Just had the worst breakfast and service at an airport ever!! Greeted at the front with a miserable face in Xmas glasses with no Xmas spirit... which appeared to be too much trouble to seat us.... waitress was pleasant, food came out literally minutes after ordering sour dough was so hard and cold I couldn't cut it and the eggs and bacon were stone cold!! My husband ate his but quality was not good..... waitress replaced food but was still only tepid and poached eggs were snotty!! When paying there was no friendliness obviously because I'd cared to quietly complain that my food was stone cold!! Massive disappointment!

Horrible service with order forgotten after I was rushed by the host to pay at the till. Charged me but didn't put the order into the computer 🙄 so I had to leave without my food because my flight was called to board.

The food was delicious, we got a full English and the steak and eggs. The service was brilliant too with really friendly attentive staff and the food came super quickly. The bill was £40 for two mains and drinks, which was on the pricier side but not unexpected for an airport. Would definitely recommend!

The restaurant was not busy and reasonably well staffed. The staff were helpful, welcoming and friendly, one of our guests was in a wheelchair and they were willing to assist. We ordered breakfasts which took a long while to arrive, ion arrival it was well presented and looked appetising it was served on a side plate, which was too small for the portion. Our scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked but sadly cold. We received an apology and replacements disappointedly this was not much warmer. The waiter checked back to see if we were satisfied. We did not have time before our flight to wait again and were not offered any discount. The main problem is that the food is cooked and left for staff to collect and serve, but this can take several minutes as they are busy taking orders, serving drinks and taking payments. Generally this is an expensive breakfast in an inconsistent busy environment.

Good food, staff lack experience heavily! Walked in sat down, and then had to get up after 5 minutes of sitting up to ask how I order. I was then told just go to the bar. I then went to the bar, and then asked what do you want. With no menu?? Then told to go and get the menu of the entrance. Just can’t see the point in the waitresses. Felt very unwelcome.

Food sounded promising, atmosphere was quiet but expected as we have an early evening flight. We ordered via the app, no members of staff approached us at our table. We ordered an ultimate burger and an all day breakfast. The food arrived luke warm at best. Hash browns, Eggs and smoked bbq beans were cold. Our plates remained in our table until we finished our drinks and left to make our flight. Extremely disappointing. Considering the company has the run of the airport and several sites you'd think the quality would be better. I've read through the reviews and can't help think that some of them are a little embellished. Expensive and very disappointing.

The service was exceptional. Sally particularly stood out to me, her positive and welcoming demeanour really made our experience fantastic. I think she is the manager (if not, she should be), and they couldn’t have found a better person for the position. She engaged with everyone and was very pleasant. Keep it up Sally and team!

The service was very good. I have an intolerance to gluten and the staff informed Sally the manager who came over to us. She was very attentive indeed. Although information is on their website Sally spent time with us to speed it all up with a summary and what the restaurant could do for me. This was excellent. I had Nacho's which very good on its own but the £4:50 I spent on the pulled brisket extra was a disappointment; a ridiculously tiny amount although after a complaint it was put right.

Stopped for breakfast before our early morning flight. My food was cold but they quickly offered to bring me a new one. Merlin was the waitress and she was lovely - professional and kind - thank you.

Would definitely stop again when in Luton Airport.
