Big Licks Braehead in Renfrewshire

Waited over 45 minutes for takeaway food with no communication, another girl sat there for over an hour. Heard people in the line waiting to be served asking how long of a wait it would be to get food and they were telling them 15 minutes. Went up and asked why it was taking so long and they said it was an issue with the server and if we would wait 15 minute they would have our order ready. Then I asked if the order had even been started yet and told me no. Asked for a refund as not willing to wait any longer and then told me they can’t refund as the order has already been started after stating it hadn’t.

Just ordered 2 cookie cough and asked for extra sauce and they just made my entire day by drowning it into their lovely jubly sauce whoever was working today u deserve a lot of appreciation :))

For the mains, the katsu burger was drenched in curry sauce which was like a chippy style to me. It also had shredded lettuce, onions and cheese. The Angus burger had smashed patties which were crispy and flavourful – the superior form of beef burger some would say a good combination of flavours in the burgers. For the sides, the sweet chilli chicken bites were nice but the star of the show was the mozza squares. Nashville seasoned, with a marinara dip. Big Licks are known for their desserts and the brookie was rich, indulgent, and layered in flavours. Brownie, cookie dough, biscoff drizzle, then I topped it with that vanilla ice cream.

First time here for milk shakes,

Ordered an ice cream cone and waited 25 minutes to receive it. The place wasn’t busy and staff just seemed to be wandering around aimlessly. I should have complained about the wait sooner as this was the only thing that spurned them into any action.

Went in to the breahead branch and ordered a cookie dough dessert and they forgot about my order and they didn't seem to care about it. It came 35min later and the cookie dough was very thin and not that much for £10.50. Normally i wouldn't be writing reviews but the staff were careless and food overpriced!

Yesterday (21.04.25) I visited your braehead branch as a first time customer, I was left less than impressed and doubt I would return. On entering the premises we were greeted by staff member asking if it was to sit on or take away? We advised a sit in so were shown to a table. The menus were on the table however we weren't advised how to order, if they'd come back and take the order, order on line or order at a specific area. After sitting for 10 mins I spotted a QR code on the table and used this method to order and pay. Other customers arrived and they were advised where to order. We patiently waited on the food arriving after receiving email confirmation of our order. The food arrived and was ok however our milkshakes didn't appear at the table. Not one of the staff asked if everything was OK, I had to ask a girl cleaning the next table to check for our milkshakes when we were halfway through eating and obviously thirsty. She advised they were getting made now and thought they had been taken to another customer previously. No apology for the delay! When they finally arrived their was no whipped cream on top of the biscoff milkshake even though I'd paid 50p extra. I queried that the cream was missing to be told their wasn't actually any available. Again no apology or offer to refund the 50p paid. Another issue was the price of the smashed angus loaded fries, these were priced £10.50 on the paper menu however online i was charged £12.50 We ate our food and left, without so much as a smile or thanks from any of the dour faced staff who clearly need some training in basic customer service. After paying £58 for two people i won't be back due to the overpricing, no offer or refund and the staff who quite frankly shouldn't be working in a 'restaurant'

First visit whilst in Glasgow today. Food was excellent and well presented. Brownie’s and cookies to take home with us.

ordered a strawberry and white chocolate sundae for just under £8 and it was absolutely delicious! i was surprised by the large portion size, strawberries were fresh and delicious, would highly recommend for desserts!

Dropped in today at lunch time to the Braehead Glasgow restaurant having never even heard of Big Licks before. The first impressions were very good. The first thing I noticed was how genuine, friendly and helpful the staff - there was nothing about the interactions that felt forced or unnatural. As we sat down, I said to my friend that the staff were great and I hoped the food was as good as the service. The waitress able to confidently answer questions about items on the menu. We ordered smash burgers and Nashville fries. The burgers were superb, and the fries were very tasty, quite spicy though. The restaurant was very clean, modern and comfortable. No loud music, plenty of space. Superb staff and superb food, I will be back!

Overall pretty mid experience. Food was okay but nothing outstanding. Had the chicken burger and some crispy chicken. Chicken wasn't very crispy though and was more like a slightly soggy chicken ball. Food left a feeling of acid reflux at the back of my throat. Mutiple servers saw us waiting to be seated, it was busy with orders but we were ignored for a while before someone came to seat us. Atmosphere here was semi busy with mainly teenagers and tiktok songs through the speakers. A few families. But not a good comfy place to eat.

Burgers, fries and milkshakes for two - cost £35, we waited 25 minutes for the food to arrive and one of the items was cold when it arrived. The food was dumped on our table by a scowling server who only scowled even more when we asked for it to be reheated. The food was tasty enough but frankly we could have had a Burger King just as good for half the price and the server wouldn’t have been so miserable. I will say that the girl who took us to our table was absolutely fine. Just the one who brought the food that must have been off sick the day they did customer service training.

Been many time and the Smash burgers are always 10/10 unfortunately the Service has been quite bad on occasions where mistakes have been made by the staff and they have been unwilling to do anything to make up for it, not even an apology......

Passed it many times, was expecting 'middle of the road', but socks well and truly knocked off! Five Stars, easy ✨️ will definitely return!!! 👌

Wow, such a poor place. Over priced rubbish with little to no flavour. And it tooks ages to get served by a miserable person.

This was terrible. The waitress was do quiet i really struggled to hear her. Four desserts took 45 mins to arrive. The Brookie was very average, waffles were okay and the sticky toffee pudding was cold. The ice cream just about tasted of ice cream. Avoid as it was not a great experience and very expensive.

Good branding doesn’t make up for non-existent customer service and cheap quality, badly cooked food that is charged ridiculously in comparison to so many other better INDEPENDENT places. I’m never letting my mate convince me to go here again. Waste.

Service poor , staff were literally throwing your order at you and couldn’t be bothered . There didn’t seem to be any kind of system in place . Food was edible but not brilliant , nothing at all like they post in their social media . Milk shakes were nice . Extremely overpriced for what you actually get . Would not recommend and won’t be back

Dined here last night with my brother, the Mozzarella cheese squares are absolutely divine! Staff were all super helpful and friendly. We also tried the burger, loaded fries and chicken bites, all tasty and a nice selection of hot food on offer!

Food was amazing as usual. But after ordering collection tonight and arriving at the time told, to then wait an additional 60 minutes for 2 burgers and some mozzarella squares isn’t really worth it. Asked the girls a few times and we were told it wouldn’t be long, would have been better for them to have just said about an hour. Sauces were forgotten, no big deal went back for the them, asked the girl at the till for the 2 sauces forgotten, she left came back handed me them and walked away without a word. Food came out roasting and fresh tho. Just maybe even extend collection times when busy to avoid this.

I heard some reviews on tiktok saying it was it was good, so thought i will give it a try, i order a buttermilk chicken burger with fries, drink and mozerella sticks, but to my disappointment the burger was so bland that i geniunenly felt depressed eating it, as for the fries it was cold and very small portion sizes, the mozerella sticks were also bland and they were chewey. The only thing good was the can of irn bru, id rather eat a primary school lunch than that, i will have to schedule a meeting with my therapist about this.

“Disappointing Burger Experience” I had high hopes for this beef burger, but it was a complete letdown. The patty was dry and overcooked, with no hint of the juicy, flavorful beef I was expecting. It tasted bland, as if no seasoning was used at all. The bun was stale and fell apart halfway through, making it nearly impossible to eat without a mess. The toppings didn’t help either—wilted lettuce, a single sad slice of tomato, and a sauce that was overly sweet and clashed with the rest of the burger. To make matters worse, it was served lukewarm, as if it had been sitting out for a while. For the price, this was a total disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend this burger to anyone

Me and my partner sat here after placing an order for over 1 hour just to be told our order still getting made while people that came after us already ate their food and left. First time here and ruined the experience definitely won’t be coming back, From the service I’ve received today I’d like a full refund, for the price I paid the food wasn’t even close to being worth £60. In the end they did offer free dessert but i didn’t fancy waiting another Hour to receive the desserts.

Great place. We stayed in Glasgow over the new year. Went on the hunt for somewhere open to sit in on new year's day for lunch when we stumbled across Big Licks. Looked very inviting and extremely clean. Staff where friendly and helpful. We went for a smash burger, mozzarella bites,sweet chilli chicken bites, original tenders and fries. Everything was amazing apart from the sweet chilli bites too Chucky for me I prefer smaller bites. But that's personal preference. It was so filling we didn't manage a dessert. After a day out and about decided to skip dinner and go back to big licks for dessert omg the Bueno waffle was lush!😍

I don't know who to blame. I ordered a Big Licks takeaway through Just Eat. I've been a customer of Big Licks for over a year; they do the best burgers on the West side of Glasgow - hands down, no competition, unbelievably delicious burgers. Before I ordered tonight, the estimated delivery said up to 30 minutes. Immediately after I paid the money, the estimated delivery time started climbing and quickly jumped to 2 adn a quarter hours before I cancelled out of a combination of despair and mad hunger. I called the restaurant but the number went to voicemail and they didn't get back to me. This has happened many times before but not by such a large amount of time. I don't know if it's Just Eat or Big Licks to blame but I'm not going to do this any more. I'm so disappointed becuase the quality of burgers are unbeatable but the delivery thing has been a shambles for far too long. From now on I'm going to eat inferior burgers that come a little faster.

Had red velvet cake and it was very dry, on the verge of being stale. I asked for it to be cut in half as it was too big for my wee gran, I was told they were not allowed to do that and handed me a small plastic knife 😂. We sat in and they did not offer proper coffee cups, only paper ones. I'm sure the ice cream is good but we were not overly impressed so left in on this occasion.

Disappointed. There will be a Lucky Wheel draw if you spend over £25. The waiter asked us to place our order using the app. After we finally placed the order, the waiter actually said that it only applies to large orders placed at till, Ridiculous

They should warn you it will be nearly an hours wait for a couple of burgers and chips when you order. Cajun fries came with so much seasoning chucked on that they were inedible; 95% seasoning dust. Won't be back.

First time here, the young lady behind the till was patient and made every effort to make sure I was aware of the menu options. I ordered the double Angus burger meal. She offered to bring it out to the car to save me standing around the restaurant. It took 10-15 minutes to prepare but it was well worth the wait. Enjoyed the service, the meal and the price was fair too. Thank you.

Ok.. where do I start. My partner and I went here as a treat. The space was very brightly lit.. staff were pleasant. However . Don't order the pancakes... They were very dry.. even powdery. They had ran out of maple syrup too.. I ate about 4 bites and my partner ate 1 bike before sending it back.. there is no way they were fresh... My partner said they tasted old and heated up in a microwave... The girl brought out another pancake and it wasn't much better.... Epic fail I'm afraid. We won't be back.. plus side a milk shake was nice....

Really disappointed with our service yesterday and the price! £14 for two milkshakes (£7each). We ordered a Nutella Milkshake & Ferrero Milkshake but the server on the till put Kinder Bueno through instead of the Nutella. We didn't know until the other server gave us our order and I asked which was which. I said that's wrong but she said it wasn't and they taste the same anyway. Completely different taste and texture with the clumps of Bueno. I also asked for no cream but she still put it on top. I didn't feel like there was a point to complain as she already shut me down about the other flavour being wrong. Should have honestly had them both replaced due to the price and them both ending up in the bin. Just won't be back.

Just like other people have said. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it feels like yesterday's leftovers. Portion sizes differ greatly every time. Sort it out please , I won't be back.

Been few times and im never disappointed, today we went in for coffee and ended indulging brownie and ice cream which was amazing, we were served by Jasmin who was really attentive and gave great service. Definitely plan to go back.

I was charged twice as my first order "didn't go thru the system" but i then found out that it still came out of my bank so i was therefor charged twice , i was told of a refund in 1-2 days its been over a week and still nothing, waited around an hour for food that was on par with mcdonald's at triple the price... wont be back!

The food was OK, nothing to right home about. Suppose it depends on what you get. Is it worth the money? We didn't think so, was by no means super expensive, don't think we will be back.

I like the place but man they are inconsistent with their food, like every time you enjoy something the next time it will be different, idk if their chefs keep changing or what, but every other time the food is different and people at the front of house are almost always clueless as to why this is the case. - Adding to my pre existing review, because this time they out did them selves by serving me a burnt patty and covering it up with cheese and sauce, I don't know why they can't train their staff to produce food consistently.

Worst experience…after we ordered our food the waitress came to our table and said 1.Spicy nuggets is out of stock and minutes later she came again and said 2. Wildberry yoghurt was also out of stock. We asked for plain nuggets and after 20 mins wait food arrived …Nuggets were fried in rush as the centre was still soggy.. the fries were not seasoned adequately so even cajun fried tasted like plain fries and the waitress asked my daughter not to touch the ice cream window as she had just cleaned it…1 star overall. nobody knows what is going on and the food is overpriced and you will not get the money’s worth. My advice better visit KFC next door…

Such a great place to go for a treat. It can not a bit pricey but the quality is great and the portions are big. Was particularly impressed with the freebie over the small delay for ice cream. ( It was end of school term and they had a lot of people in) Thank you

Stopped as a waypoint whilst driving. Burger deal for two burgers and fries was good value at £20, but it was nothing spectacular. Burgers had a bit of a fake grill taste like Burger King. Fries were good, but it was far too much food so we didn't end up eating the second portion of fries. Tried one of the cookie doughs as well, which was okay but nothing special. Service was a bit slow.

Excellent service at big licks braehead. Special thanks to the girl serving who gave my son some branded napkins/ menu / straws . My son is autistic and doesn't like sitting in to eat places but he chose here and you made it so much more than just " getting ice cream" thank you!!

use to be good down hill now, the crepe you couldn’t even cut through was stail and reheated crispy but chewy couldn’t even eat it as it was like chewing gum

Dont waste your time visiting this branch, last 3 visits there has been some sort of issue between back chat from staff, ice cream machines not working or too short staffed to take orders, if you are too short staffed then maybe shut down your justeat till and serve the people who have actually went out their way and bothered to visit. Complete waste of peoples time and money

Went in for two cones. Told at entrance that they weren’t taking any orders as they’re busy and short staffed. Couple of delivery drivers waiting on orders. We left and checked online collection. Still able to order online so why can’t they serve the customers who are in store?

I drive past it ever day, but hadn't been it, so the sun had peeked out of the clouds for a short time, giving me the urge to have ice cream. We chose our flavours, and at that my other half decided this was the best time to visit the loo, and take ages! The staff member had made up the 2 cones and handed me them, they were enormous! My partner still hadn't came out the lav yet, so she offered to put them in the freezer for a bit in case he was going to be there all day. I agreed, and thought it was a nice gesture. She put them onto small cardboard trays and was just about to pop them into the freezer when he came back out. So we just ate them off the trays with the little plastic spoons. The flavours were lovely, I got ferrero rocher and Scottish tablet. The waffle cones were lovely and crunchy too. I would go back. Maybe I'd try some cake or brownies as they looked very nice. We didn't sit in, but it looked nice enough, very empty though, so I hope it does well enough to stay open. I have heard the burgers are nice, so maybe I will go back to try one. The price was good for the size of scoops you get. £5 for each 2 scoop waffle cone.

We ordered our food and paid for it however they then never passed the order to the kitchen resulting in our food not being made.

Went in around 9 pm. on the way down from Glasgow. The place was pretty much empty bar a couple of tables with 3 or 4 punters sitting at them. Bird that eventually took our orders said a couple of "minutes".. I assumed she would be sorting our cones out, but she went about doing something else. So we're hanging about waiting on the two cones, after a few minutes of observing some orders being made up by two birds behind the counter, I had to ask where our cones were all the while I'm watching at least one daft burd stand behind the counter doing pretty much nothing. So some staring went on between all parties, and I had to ask again, "Can we have our cones?" At last, the doing nothing bird served us, granted we got two massive scoops each which was great and the ice cream was delish. Observed around 4 tables were a complete mess and hadn't been tidied nor wiped after the last punters had used them. Strange place, staff seemed totally disconnected and no clear who's serving who... Anyhow ice cream was decent £3.50 per cone seemed fair to me. They need to brush up on the service and cleanliness..
