the food was stone cold. plus the chips were just all the dregs not Ctual chips. very disappointed.

Toppings I requested were missing on the pizza and 2 toppings seems like were doubled, did not enjoy it at all

Big johns is not the way it used to be. It's been sad seeing the decline of big johns, as this was one of my favourite places to get food from. Now I just drive past there and remember the good old days. I would only really go here now in a supreme emergency, and that's hardly ever. Goodbye big johns, it was really nice knowing you. We may meet again one day🫡

Food was cold fish and chips boxes were open with food in the outer bag. Called the restaurant to complain but got nothing but attitude from the manager. That’s the last time I order from there shame really as it was my go to big johns even though I have closer ones

Please refrain from eating here. I had their beef burger and suffered from food poisoning. Eat at your own risk

Outpost of a local chain of kebab, fish and chips shop. Always hits the spot when in the mood for some fried deliciousness.

Had to wait 20 minutes for fish and chips as server mixed order up. No apology. And one fish overcooked, batter rock hard. Chips soft mushy and tasteless. Definitely no return visit.

Walked in, had a brief look at the menu, before the lady prompted me for my order. I was handed my food a few minutes later. Excellent service!

I tried to order online and I went to see how much it would be and it automatically said your order has been processed and will be ready. I just wanted to see how much it would come to before ordering it didn’t let me. So instead of me not calling the shops and telling them not to make the order I decided to call them and tell them it was an accident and not to make the order I just wanted to check how much it would be. The person I spoke to was very rude and said to me that don’t play around with the orders when it was a genuine mistake and the app tried to make me order it without telling me the price very cheeky of them. Very rude worker

Waited a while for my food. Paid £16.67 for 2 meals. Get home to have 1 meal (fish and chips) and a box of chips when I ordered fish n chips and sausage chips n mushy peas x2. What is it with this food chain they NEVER EVER get your order right. Livid

Order from here on a regular basis with no issues, unfortunately this evening there were items missing from our order: ben & jerrys ice cream, 6pc chicken wings, can of pop, taco sauce. Tried calling to resolve but rings out and then cuts off.

I ordered a portion of chicken wings. I wouldn’t say I’m a connoisseur, but I have eaten a lot of wings in my life and can say that these might have been the worst. The amount of oil was unholy. The flavors were lacking. And the texture didn’t seem right. I should have just drank a protein shake after gym instead of putting myself through this ordeal.

They have a number on their website but it doesn’t even work , why have a number that can’t be called? Terrible customer service.

Ordered online and when my food didnt arrive and I called I was told there was issues contacting with me before hand. However, my number was tested the same day and was clearly working. Was then informed by a member of staff who said "money will be refunded and back in your account in a few minutes". The next day the number went through to someone who deals with complaints who stated we don't "transfer to branches after 4" which was a blatant lie as it directly went to the selly oak branch the night prior around midnight. He then said refunds will take 3-5 days and expected me to take his word for them ringing along with no accountability for the wrong info provided about refund times. Horrible service all round.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE TO EXIST! Deliberately kept putting the phone down on us as they got our food order wrong and asked them to send out the correct food but was told the 7 minute drive was too far! The manager said “ we can do, but I won’t”, by far worst customer service I’ve had! Food was not sent out and the chips I did receive were cold! Waited an hour for the food to come too.

Very good chicken kebab, really good chips, perfect battered mushrooms, very good shish kebab, and all washed down with excellent service and a very clean environment.

Used to love big John's, but their delivery app is bad, you can't order on the phone to go and collect anymore leaving you waiting in store for a while. The loaded chip's chicken tastes fishy now. What's happened? Korean burger is still the best tho

This is my local Big John’s and was planning to order from Uber eats but my friends recommended for me to go and order as it’s much more cheaper and she was right. Prices are really high in general but on Uber eats it’s really higher. I loved how clean this place is and the pizza bar was spotless. I got to choose what toppings so I got half and half and was creative. I also got the fish and chips, chicken wings and loaded fries (family of four lol not binge eating i promise). There was a 20 mins wait which was understandable as the pizza and fish were made fresh. Mad that the burger doesn’t come as a meal although on the screen it literally says add £2.99 for a meal but they just don’t do it. Doesn’t make sense to order separately as turns out really pricy. The food tasted good. Pizza wasn’t the best as was not hitting right. Fish and chips were the best. Loaded fries portions are decent and could be a meal in its own honestly. I will definitely go back for the fish and chips and maybe the loaded fries but that’s it. Maybe I’ll try something else to see if anything I’d like.

I had a chicken tikka wrap and chips. There was minimal amount of chicke, it was hard, dry bits of chicken. the chips were hard and tasted reheated,rather than fresh. I normally really enjoy this meal, so I'm very surprised!

drinks came separately and not with the main mean, paid £1.49 for both drinks and they came with 79p on it.

Oh, where do I begin with my disastrous encounter at Big John's in Selly Oak? It was like stepping into a comedy sketch gone horribly wrong. Picture this: bagpipes blaring, kilts fluttering, and the unmistakable aroma of haggis lingering in the air. I thought I had stumbled into a Scottish festival, but nope, it was just Big John's attempt at authenticity. First off, let's talk about the food. I ordered their so-called "Scottish Special Burger," and boy, was it special indeed. The burger patty was so dry that even the Loch Ness Monster would have struggled to swallow it. And the toppings? Well, let's just say they were about as authentic as a fake Loch Ness Monster sighting. The "haggis" tasted suspiciously like a mushy mystery meat, and the tartar sauce had the audacity to call itself "Scottish Mayo." I've never seen mayo commit such a culinary crime. And finally, the service. I've never seen such a disorganised frenzy. The staff scurried around, bumping into each other like we were playing bummper carts back in the 80s and occasionally dropping trays of food like the london bombings. It was like watching a looney tunes comedy routine, except the joke was on the customers. My order was mixed up not once, not twice, but thrice BAH HUMBUG! At that point, I half-expected a bagpipe-playing clown to pop out and offer me a conpensation of three shillings and a £10 robux giftcard. In conclusion, if you're looking for a taste of Scotland, Big John's in Selly Oak is NOT the place to go. They've managed to turn a proud and vibrant culture into a warzone. So, if you're in the mood for a good laugh and an unforgettable dining experience (for all the wrong reasons), Big John's will definitely deliver. Just don't expect quality food or a true taste of Scotland. You've been warned!
