Big John’s Hall Green in Birmingham

Had food there Friday night, spent Saturday and most of today in bed with food poisoning, thanks for ruining my weekend

Hands down the best masala fish in Birmingham. The portion is decent. The quality of fish is brilliant. The coating is exceptional...this is coming from a person whose background is Lahore Pakistan...Trust me I know what I am talking about!! The only improvement I would like to suggest is that do not put sauce and salad on the naan..serve it in small tubs separately so the naan does not get soggy.

Great local chippy/take-away with a good menu selection and very friendly staff.

The toilets were absolutely disgusting and the seating area was filthy too. The seats were stained and it was so cold inside too! The same morning I got severe stomach pains and food poisoning and that was the last meal of had 🤮

First off all these workers don’t even know the prices of their own products, making up prices on the spot . Such bad customer service

Ordered at 5.50pm and food arrived at 7.35pm, absolutely shocking!!! Then to make matters worse the food arrived and was missing items which made me then have to go to the actual shop which defeats the object of a delivery service and a delivery charge!!! Definitely won’t be using this branch again!

Placed the order at 6.30pm, estimated delivery 19.55 arrived at 8.15pm. The pizza was cold and so were the chips. Almost 2 hours for food. After a delay on delivery anyway, you wouldn’t expect it to come later still! Joke!

Ordered early so we could get delivery on time 6.30 but arrived so early that food was cold by the time we wanted it.. would have been better 5/10 minutes late

Very big portion and fresh , great value of money

I can't belive this I just ordered 10 chicken wings for £7.99 as advertised. Got home and find out the smallest 10flats of the wings was in the bag I was soo fuming! Went back in the shop and they told me that's how the owner told them to do it.. robing ppl out of their money I told them the advertisement on the screen and they oblivious so clearly they just there to Rob ppl. Be carful do not order wings at this place !!

I recently ordered a takeaway pizza and was disappointed with my experience. The dough tasted very old, possibly because it had been left out for too long. The texture was tough and unappetizing, making it nearly impossible for me to enjoy even a single slice. Overall, it was a frustrating meal that didn’t meet my expectations.

Never using this branch again order late driver tells me no pizza left it at the shop the parts of food was no taste so sauces or salad they can’t do thier job properly at this branch always a fault or fail from this shop

When ever you order from hallgreen big John’s there is always something missing or the food is not cooked properly! After failing twice before I thought I would give them a chance again and they messed up again! never will I use this big John’s again! The worst service ever received! And you won’t be able to call the store they put you trew to an automated number that ends up cutting you off! Stay away from this shop save your money and health! The driver told me he gave my pizza to some one else or forgot it at the shop, the price you pay for the quality of the food definitely not worth it! Poor service! Terrible food quality

Superb food and good size portions

Gave reg mayo instead oc garlic mayo, one drink less, sauces less even though we paid for sauces separately. Phone line customer service atrocious and blames the delivery driver when the actual order was incorrect.

If you plan to get a pizza, I highly recommend going in person. You will be able to choose far more toppings than if you ordered online. Otherwise, everything else is standard and nothing excels, but it is relatively cheap compared to other places.

I ordered of just eat and the restaurant handled it and the order was over an hour late I rang the help center and I didn’t get anywhere. I waited over an hour for the food just for my money to be taken and I never received the order i absolutely do not recommend this restaurant at all only go there if you want to get robbed for your money and no food to come.

Staff are very rude. Lack any kind of customer service skills. Wasn't made to feel welcome at all. Went in just after 10pm and was told no chicken available because they're cleaning when it's nowhere near closing time. Stay away from this place.

We normally use here once a week and it's normally lovely. Today we ordered a cheese burger which was missing. The cheese bites were soooooo overcooked it was just batter with no filling and the chips were barely warm. Very disappointed today and a little put off using again.

Food in my opinion is always nice when I order from here. I really enjoy it. My go to is mixed donner in naan or with chips. It always tastes great 👍 only thing I can say is they need to be abit more generous with portion sizes. If I say I want salad, that means I want salad. Not few strips of Lettuce and 1 slice of Cucumber cut in half. Doesn't happen all the time.

Really bad experience for delivery it’s better to collect from them even though I mentioned food should be fresh but it’s cold we are family of 5 still can’t finish 10 pcs chicken due to quality .just only 4 small pieces of breast and rest was thigh

Chips is as it is good but pizza quality is not great. Specially chees cheese is very poor and very chewy and does Do not stick with the pizza base like very cheap. Service was okay with faces smiley and some gloomy..overall okay for one time. Not as before like Big John’s.

This place has gone very downhill and I will think twice next time before placing an order. Our chips were not cooked properly they were so greasy and half of them were just mush. Very stingy portions definitely not worth the money. Whoever prepped our food needs to be fired. Very disappointed.

I went there today just before 9 pm and ordered a lamb donna in Pitta and wings with chips. It took them 10 minutes to 15 minutes to prepare the food. I was the only customer in there and the service was terrible and got home. There was no chips with my wings and Pitta was rock hard and it did not taste nice at all. I’ve got charge £10.39, I think this is the worst franchise I have been to. The one in Erdington is absolutely fantastic. I wish a refund never will go back to that shop again

Big boss man came over shouting, moaning and throwing his car keys around. Having a tantrum like a 5yrs old baby. Saying we don't do refund and he said "it's not nice isini".

once this place was very nice with big john taste to the chips now well the nothing special 4 chicken breast gto chciken breast and no idea what the other wasway to much bone with a wing stuck to it very disappointing and whats with the small cod 10.99 and the mushy peas well no peas just what looked like dish water from a pea pot 1.80 for that

Food is always good. I had made a particularly large order and they got the pizza wrong and was cold. Disappointed about it but the spicy chicken burgers, cod and masala fish with chips were great.

This was the worst takeaway I have ever had delivered, it was a box of slop. I'd ordered chicken kebab and chips, I got a box with at most seven chips most of which were either tiny or were over cooked or bad. The so-called chicken kebab was basically liquid slop, For £11.99 I had 5 small chips before it was thrown in the bin. Any business that had any pride in itS service or cared for its customers would not have sent this. Big John's Kings Heath should be ashamed. If I could I'd want my money back. Shameful.

Ordered through the app, ordered a 20 inch deep pan half half pizza. Got thin crust instead and was over cooked and burnt. Chips were over cooked too. Tried calling branch, got cut off every time. Boycott this branch

Big John's have definitely upped their game. Much improved menu and fresh food with a beautiful taste. Highly recommended.

Food comes with smallest portion of chips which you can literally count, the manager on the phone either ignores calls or tells you that's how much they give. Like it or lump it. Very arrogant and rude. Pay £10 for fish and a few chips. Ridiculous. No sauces at all. Have to pay separately for them. No other takeaway I have been to charged for sauces. Over priced and over rated. Staff at shop seem fed up of working looks like as they always are grumpy. Very poor customer service overall

The quality of the food was very poor. Very hard chips as if they were fried a second time to warm up and the chicken similarly was very dry in the same way. Dont usually provide negative feedback but disappointed as I do enjoy Big John's food from other branches. Won't be ordering from this branch again as its the second time I've received food we couldn't eat.

Great food and service, one of the better Big John's. Food cooked and tasted well Prices are quite cheap too (£10 for loaded fries and a peri peri panini) Decent amount of parking to be found nearby too.

When ever you order the food for collection never ready on time .i had multiple time this experience.made the complaint about this issue with manager 2 weeks ago.and today this happened again order the food via big johns app and i just had a call after 30 mints your food is not ready when i was just round the corner to collect the food .no curtesy no explanation it’s on going issue for this branch .when you are hungry and made your mind to eat .everything is ruined .i hope someone look in to this ongoing issue .
