Poor food and poor service .ask for refund and very rude customer service .Horrible panini.never visit ever again to this place

Its disappeared doesnt exist anymore. And they used to be HMC, i found another shabby branch not too far but doubt it was HMC

Went for a quick bite to eat and what a mistake it was! Since eating there spent the next 3 days being violently ill, I could not even keep water down it was that bad. Once I recovered I rang the manager to complain and his exact words were ‘what do you want me to do about it’. Shocking! I hung up and have got in touch with environmental health who will be doing a full check. Hope they close it down and do everyone a favour! Awful, dirty place!!!

I have been a regular at big John's since they opened and I used to love the food and the service, but recently this is no longer the case. I stopped going to this branch a month ago when they served me rancid fish which stank so bad I thought someone had urinated in the takeaway bag. they hadn't, but the fish was inedible. it went straight in the bin when I got home and since then I have only used the Narborough road store until today. today the experience was laughable (see review I posted earlier). sorry to do this guys, but your standards have slipped so low that today will be my last visit an I will be looking for a new regular.

Came for quick meal with a friend and had the peri peri chicken, chicken wings and chips. Food was nice and fresh with proper chips. Price is reasonable and is a good place to bring the kids for a quick bite to eat!

This place has gone downhill since it opened, the staff do not bother to clean the facilities! They need hourly checks like they have in pubs and other eateries!

Always drive through here and get grilled chicken. Lovely tasting food, once the food was late and I was given a free portion of chips. Lady in headscarf who has been working there for a long time I have forgotten her name but she is brilliant!

As a regular visitor to big John's due to the drive through, I wanted to note down the fantastic service provided by all the staff. In particular junaid who I have become very familiar with to the point where I just have to arrive in the window on a particular day and he knows my order and all I have to do is pay. Other staff like naseem sara and khushi and some of the others always go above and beyond in terms. Credit to the company.

So went here for some quick food and got a wrap and 4 wings and chips and a cheeky burger. I only just realised I never actually received the burger. Also the chips were not cooked properly and the wrap was just two DRY pieces of chicken. Only good thing was the wings and drink. I would only go there out of convenience that’s about it.

The food here has always been reliable and the staff helpful especially as it is open at times when other similar places are not. However, tonight I have thrown my burger straight in the bin as after clarifying three times for my burger to not have sauce or mayo, there was actually more mayo and sauce than burger. And why ask whether we want our kebab on naan or pitta if you are just going to dump it in the box with neither? To sum up it is usually nice food for the price spoiled by poor attention to detail by the staff.

The place used to be so good back in the days when it opened up. However now it’s absolutely shambles. I had to wait almost 20 minutes just to place an order and after placing the order the food took almost 30 mins bearing in mind constantly chasing up. All I ordered was spicy fillet burger meal and it was like a joke. The burger bun is more like finger roll size and chips was only filled half to the box. I do not think there is any passion or drive there within staff or management. I would definitely have gone elsewhere if it wasn’t so late that evening.

Decent food at great prices served efficiently by friendly staff, good offers worth checking out, adequate parking, a good value option for pizza, kebabs etc.

Always amazed how good the food is and how little I spend! All cooked to order, fresh and tasty. Chips are chunky chip shop style none of these stupid fries. Place is clean and the hand wash area external from the toilets promoting good hygiene is great!

Where to start. I had a quarter of Peri Peri chicken and chips which included a cold piece which had a sauce haphazardly sploged in the middle of it and some of my chips were undercooked. As the portion size was rediculusly small I also had a piece of SF chicken which was taken from the back (new pieces were in the front. God knows how long they were there) cold, rubbery and tasteless. The food was cheap but you really do get what you pay for

If looking for great food, go to Big John's. The food here is great and the services is superb, highly recommend. HMC certified too. They have amazing build your own pizzas, I recommend the masala fish and fillet panini.

This place is an ideal drop in. It's not trying to be the Ritz but its variety of fast food is prepared mostly fresh and sold at very reasonable price. The place is very clean and the staff hospitable. Wife loves the chips - like more traditional British chips but with a bit more crunch. The double decker burger beats a big Mac easily!

Love going to big John's, the food is good and best of all it's very affordable. The staffs are ever so helpful and friendly which makes you want to visit it over and over again. If you're ever in Leicester try and visit big John's.

We visited big johns on new years eve. After a night out. We must say it was a great experience to eat there. Staff was quite friendly even we were quite late. They served us very nicely. And must add that the grill chicken was very nice, soft and tender, fresh and beautifully done. Pizza could have been better. But it was a good experience on the whole.

I am regular customer of big Jhons humberston road. The are very nice food and staff bihavyer so nice they dealing with customers very friendly and Helpful.But now a days your pric so high it is not nice deacition for customers and your food quality is nicebut contatty is not for sutabal for this pric if you provide some side such as Peri Peri chicken with Nann or with chips it will be OK. Furthermore you need to consider on this point of view. But really your Price development don't make me Happy.

Food spot on, freshly cooked and prepared in reasonable time. Staff attentive amd offered excellent cust service. Lady working the floor was brilliant, tables cleared and cleaned once vacated. Not just wiped, swept and mopped too! Oh an prices, 6 of us for £20, my wallet was happy too

Food is priced quite cheap which reflects on the quality of the food. Staff are helpful and polite. Normally would go hear for quick cheap lunch

I am in two minds on Big John's. I'll tell you why...If you are looking for a late night kebab, burger, chips, then you cannot get cheaper. I was lured in by the 'fresh' signage. Made me think of salads, fresh food, pasta, like a Deli. It is not. It is a large kebab, burger shop offering cheap food at a cheap price. I paid £2.45 for a burger, chips and a drink. It is not for me. I like good food and I am prepared to pay more for it. This is not that.My top tip for BJ's is to say what it is that you do. Don't emphasise 'Fresh'.

What a disaster of a place I placed an order for fried chicken it clearly says on the board drink and chips extra 99p. When placing my order I was charged for this as it was what I asked for however once I got given my meal I was told I wasn't getting a drink and them had to pay again for the juice and was told you can only get juice with burgers. My friend got a mixed kebab the nan was very dried out the chicken was horrible he had to pick this off to make it edible. Looks like it should be good from the outside but the standard of food and the staff are just a total let down

Me and my family wanted to eat something not too heavy or expensive after coming back from Drayton Manor Theme Park. We both ordered burger meals and chicken wing meals for the kids.The burgers were excellent as were the chicken wings. The chips however were over cooked and broke in your mouth like you were eating rocks/stones.Shame really about the chips but like I said, the rest of it was excellent. We ate inside and there was plenty of seating, although not much in the case of any seating to support your backs. I have eaten at this establishment in Birmingham and was quite happy with it. Very cheap too so good value for money.

wanted to go here for sometime, the place was reasonably clean. I went with family and got some food, it was half cooked, chips were half cooked, fish was awful.most of the people were in their pyjama'swent to the toilet and it stank.never go here againyou expect something good when going out and spending hard earned moneyfor good food, not bad food and service like this, most people when finishing talking were saying something like allan all the time, WHO'S ALLAN.

I ordered a pizza the girl who served me was very polite... But when she told me it will be ready in 5 mins I thought.. Is this gunna be fresh??? Clearly it took a little longer by maybe 2mins but... It lacked taste and quality you can tell no effort had gone in to making it.. The toppings Base and the sauce not good at all.. To say the least I was just visiting the city due to work... And left the city very disappointed on a whole

Title sum's this place up well.I ordered the Fish and Chip's, although this was 7/10 my friend ordered the Chicken Burger Meal, my oh my he asked me to taste the burger which I did. It was cold and hard, spoke to the so called manager only to be told to leave the restaurant after all staff ganged up on us. The English spoken by staff was really poor, if you don't believe me then go see for yourself.

We come here once in a while with kids, food is tastey and good value, but no "brilliant customer service" staff look unhappy and the total eating experience inside is basicaly non existent! Lol oh god come on! Staff need to crack a smile it aint gonna kill ya!

The first time I ate here in April 2015 it wasn't to bad the food was edible and fairly tasty we had fish and chips. However over the last year it's gone a bit down hill. The food is made in a slap dash way they murder the pizza Base with sauce and the burgers same problem. The fizzy drinks are made over sugary. The floor is thick most of the time with grease it's so easy to go slipping over Overall they need to put a bit more care in the food maybe try and eat what they serving!. And clean the floor properly get air con in there so we don't go home smelling of oil after a short visit. I'd now only go there if desperate.

We went to check out out big john's offering early evening having decided that the delights of the Golden Arches or colonel sanders poultry platter could wait till another day. We were pleasantly surprised with what we had.Not sure the drive through particularly works as rather than being fast food I would assess it as more medium paced line and lengthI went for the chicken donner in nann - very decent platter - good chicken breast meat albeit in a slightly off putting orangey red coating - very tasty with fresh saladMy wife went for the peri peri chicken - nandoesque but better was her Greg Wallace like assessmentThe kids went for big johns meat - in the form of burgers - the boy concluded it was the best burger he had ever had, but then again he is no Jay Rayner and tends to make that assessment after every non McDonald's burger we shove his way. However the girl was equally impressed and to our surprise and to some extent concern she expressed her desire to get her lips round a big johns again sometime soon.When you boil it all down it is just fast(ish) food but will go again as it is much better than the usual global suspects.

Have to admit to being a bit dubious about this place as its prices seemed stoopidly cheap. For me that means one of two things; either the food quality is crap or theres a catch. I am pleased to announce i was wrong on both fronts! Food was really good and 6 of us ate for £18! Service was good too, nice little touch was the hand wash station outside the toilets to encourage good hygiene for the kids. Will defo be returning.

Visited here for the first time needing a quick dinner after a hospital visit. I was really impressed for several reasons. The first was that my toddler was crying as he was hungry and they gave him a small box of chips for free to appease him. So nice of them. The second was that they were like chip shop chips rather than fries. Yum. The third was that the price was so low - a whole peri peri chicken for just over £4 and you can add the chips and drink for 99p. I wouldn't say it's the best food I've ever eaten but it was quick, cost effective and there was a nice american vibe in the place. Good for a quick and easy bite to eat.

My partner and I visited this Big Johns at the weekend, ordered a chicken breast burger and a normal piri piri meal...we thought it would have been like anyother BJ's Id visited before....Oh my god, my partner bit into her chicken burger and the meat was GREY, it SMELT and was generally UNHYGIENIC and INEDIBLE...I took it back to the counter for a refund and the staff couldn't understand why I didn't want a replacement instead....SHOCKING!!!My dogs dinner is more desirable honestly!!!

Took my family for a evening meal it was below average and tasteless i won't be visiting again that's for sure not after seeing RATS in the car park (OMG)

I visited the Leicestershire branch tonight whist I was waiting to be served I was listening to a woman complaining about the rubbish outside then to my disbelief I looked out the window and around my car were dozens of rats on the car park, the staff said he would sort it out when I said what a good advertisement it is and I watched the staff ok at the rats for ten mins then walk back in , one Guy had to drive up to the door to pick his family up As his children were scared of the rats sat here at home now eating my fish and chips the food is excellent however my thoughts are fixed on the rats and have they been near the food as the rear door can be left open

I love coming to Big Johns, its great value for money and tastes delicious. They always have good offers on. I usually go for the burger meal deal and it fills me up for under £4! My criticism would be that the tables are not cleaned after each customers. They are usually dirty and greasy. Also, they only have 2 ketchup and chill sauce bottles which is shared between all customers. Again, this means that the bottles are usually greasy and its not pleasant having to ask other customers if they are done with using the bottles. There should be bottles of sauces on each table.

Terrible. The food is good, the presentation isn't that great and they don't seem to make any effort at all, but the food is still okay. However the service is just awful. I can't remember how many times I've ordered from there, but I always order hoping it will be different next time. It never is. The drivers always go to the wrong place, then get angry at me when they can't see me, despite me standing outside the front of my building and seeing nobody. They're not even apologetic. I've also ordered a few times and have been given the wrong order, or something has been missing, but it's not worth calling back because I know nothing will get done. And the very first time that I ordered from here, my delivery was two hours. Two hours! Turns out they took our delivery to the wrong place, and then when they realised it was the wrong address, took ages to find mine. And the food was cold. Another time I ordered, I was sent a confirmation text, but when the driver claimed to be outside (again, he went to the wrong building), he didn't call me, but somebody else who wasn't even in the city. He was incredibly rude to me after waiting for 20 minutes, but it's not my problem that he didn't call me and didn't actually come to the right building. The staff in the restaurants as well are quite useless. They don't know how to talk to people, and when they're finally finished joking and talking amongst themselves, they eventually get around to serving the customers who are stood there waiting. Humberstone and Narborough road are the worst.

There are many big johns across leicester. And simply its a gem. Because they do abit of everything. And to do that the food should be bad. But its not. It's not even ok. In fact it's very good. Fish n chips? Chicken n chips? Peri peri with ur types of chicken? Burgers, pizzas coffee you name it. And it cover all bases especially if u got a big family of fussy eaters. People expect fast food to be fast but don't expect it here cos they need to cook your food first before they serve it. If your in a hurry dont eat here. It's to eat not a hot dog stand. My favourite is fish and chips (chips are the traditional kind) or the peri peri chicken

What is the point in delivering a menu for delivery and then telling us you don't deliver when we try to order...We just won't use it

Asked for a cheeseburger meal, ended up with a chicken salad burger. Asked them to swap it, was snatched out of my hand. Got my cheeseburger, absolutely dripping wet with burger sauce. Wish I'd of taken a picture, it was awful. Looked like someone had done it on purpose. Again, snatched out of my hand.Got the burger I asked for in the end. The customer service is appalling, the food is alright and the atmosphere the staff create is terrible.

On my one visit to big John's I really wanted a kebab, I was told there was a 40 minute wait. Not very good for a fast food place. Next I wanted chicken... 30 minute wait... Grrrrr.... In the end did had fish and chips were ok, but nothing special. Very disappointed.

Visited on a Thursday afternoon so the place wasn't busy. Got served by a pleasant and polite lady. Ordered panini, peri burger and chips. Very tasty and quality food. Would definitely visit again if I am in Leicester.

gawjus food great price took me some time to choose my meal as they do everything from chicken wraps to pripri chicken its all the restaurants into one for low prices defo will be going again excellent!!! xx

They have pretty much any food you can think of from all over the world from samosas to tacos. But some of the food isn't really that nice.

Wonderful place. nice, friendly and HMC approved.Price is very decent.Drive through an added bonus.Nice big car park and an open vast lighted sitting place.Food also served hot and foods hygiene is above average.
